Cersei meets with her new handpicked Small Council who blithely make momentous decisions with huge ramifications. Simon and Mackelly watch on in despair.Chapter Review:Queen Cersei is, not for the first time, disappointed to find the severed head of the wrong dwarf presented to her. She offers no punishment to the murderers for fear of deterring those hunting Tyrion. She and Qyburn head to the Small Council. He has prepared the skull to be sent to Dorne to satisfy the Martell's grievance against the now, presumably dead, Gregor Clegane. The Small Council is at full complement - with men Cersei has personally elevated not because of obvious talents for their positions, but due to perceived loyalty. It doesn't make for a very thoughtful meeting. They decide to stay out of the trouble in the Vale, but demand that no harm befall Petyr Baelish. That they'll ignore the flock of Sparrows that continues to descend on King's Landing. That they have no idea who the next High Septon will be. That the grumblings from the masses about the crimes of the Red Wedding are best dealt with by waiting for Lord Frey to die and hoping that his successor will give up a few rivals as scapegoats. That to pay for a new royal fleet the crown will default on its loan payments to both the Faith and the Iron Bank of Braavos. That Lord Manderly should execute Ser Davos who came to ask for White Harbor's support for Stannis' claim. That news of dragons in Essos can be safely ignored. And that Jon Snow has betrayed the neutrality of the Night's Watch by siding with Stannis.Cersei arranges a complex plan involving Osney Kettleblack seducing Queen Margaery, being caught in the act, sent to the Wall by King Tommen, murdering Jon Snow, being pardoned, and then becoming Cersei's concubine for his service. A tall order, but if he pulls it off, then a Lannister always pays their debts. She tells Taena to let Margaery know that the handsome Osney is smitten with her, but discreetly.  Characters/Places/Names/Events:Cersei Lannister - Mother to King Tommen, Queen Regent of the Seven Kingdoms.King Tommen Baratheon - Child king of the Seven Kingdoms.Jamie Lannister - Twin and lover to Cersei. Biological father of Tommen.Margaery Tyrell - Queen of the Seven Kingdoms.Osney Kettleblack - Youngest of the Kettleblack brothers. With an underwhelming outlook on the episode, the hosts spare no punches in their analysis. From a hilarious scene featuring Ser Davos and Gendry on the beach that brought a good laugh, to the incredulous idea of capturing a wight to convince Cersei, Zach and Scott dissect the highs and lows of the episode. Their critical eye falls on the noticeable reliance on plot armor, which has become more prominent this season. While acknowledging the decent interaction between Jamie and Tyrion and admiring Cersei's calculated manipulation, the hosts express their disappointment in the way the characters' paths converge at Eastwatch. What should have been a thrilling moment falls flat due to its disjointed execution. Don't miss this candid breakdown of "Eastwatch" as Scott and Zach unravel the intricacies of the episode. Irish actor Liam Cunningham, whose latest film The Last Voyage of the Demeter, is set to release in theatres this weekend, has provided an update on one of his most popular on-screen avatars. Cunningham, who is best known for essaying the role of the fan-favourite character Ser Davos Seaworth in Game of Thrones, could reprise his role as the Onion Knight in the Game of Thrones spin off show around Jon Snow. While not much has been revealed regarding the spinoff by HBO, Kit Harrington is expected to reprise his role as Jon Snow aka the Aegon Targaryen. Cunningham revealed in a recent interview that he would love to return to the franchise. Considering Ser Davos is one of Jon's closest friends and allies, Cunningham making a comeback is not outside the realms of possibility.

We're officially here, the beginning of the end. It's been a fun road on Talkin' Thrones, but it all must eventually come to an end. So here we are with the premiere of arguably the biggest and most critically acclaimed season of the show, the big one, the one that gave us Battle of the Bastards, the one that surpassed the books, it's the Season 6 premiere, entitled "The Red Woman." Despite a very rushed and completely out of place, not to mention horribly mishandled exiting of Dorne from the main storyline, the premiere picks up right after the events of last season, showing what's happened to all the characters after the meriad of cliffhangers after Season 5. The remaining Night's Watch members loyal to Jon along with Ser Davos must figure out what to do in the aftermath of Jon's death and Ser Alliser seizing control of the Watch. Ramsay picks up the pieces after the victory over Stannis and is chastised by his father for losing Sansa. Sansa & Theon are quickly caught by Ramsay's troops until an unexpected save from Brienne and Podrick. Jaime returns to King's Landing and vows to help Cersei take back what's been taken from them, while the High Sparrow starts to play the game. Arya is beaten on the streets, helpless and blind, while Tyrion casually wanders the streets in a storyline that by all right should be awesome, him ruling Meereen, but instead plays out like just spinning its wheels until they can get Daenerys back. Speaking of Daenerys, Jorah & Daario are hard after her, while she finds herself right back where she started with the Dothraki. In a rather shocking and abrupt final moment meant to further emphasize what Melisandre is capable of, we discover her take off her jeweled pendant, revealing her true, ancient form. It's a jam packed premiere that's setting up for a hard and fast paced season that's going to result in an explosive climax, and you guys can keep up with all of it right here on the #talkintvpodcast --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/talkintvpodcastgmailcom/support

Davos sails into Blackwater Bay with Stannis' giant fleet. He has some misgivings, but initially the battle goes to plan. However, a series of barges full of wildfire sail into the fleet and all is lost. Davos is thrown overboard but is being drawn into the burning mess that is gathering on Tyrion's great chain. Simon and Mackelly pick through the flotsam.Chapter Review:Davos Seaworth stands on the deck of the Black Betha, in the second row of King Stannis Baratheon's fleet. The enormous fleet is made up of 10 rows of 20 ships, not including the ships of Salladhor Saan's Lysene fleet that will stay out in the Blackwater Bay as the rear guard.Ser Imry Florent, brother to Stannis's wife Selyse, has been named Lord High Captain of the fleet. He plans to use the fleet's superior numbers to overwhelm the much smaller royal fleet. Once they've been dispatched, the ships will both land troops on the northern bank of the Blackwater Rush and ferry Stannis and his army across from the southern bank. Ser Davos has reservations about the plan, most notably the decision to take all 200 ships into the river at once. When the two sides meet, the fighting is fierce. However, it's clear that the numbers of Stannis' fleet will carry the day for them. Everything changes when boats ladened with wildfire are drifted into the fleet. As they are rammed or catch fire, the explosions are immense. When the first boat explodes, Davos is thrown from his ship. As he treads water, he sees many other ships engulfed in green flames. Davos figures he'll let the river current take him out to the bay to meet up with Saan's fleet for rescue. But as he looks down-river, he sees that a thick boom chain has been raised across the mouth of the river, trapping them all. The current is taking him right for it and the burning husks that have been trapped against it.Characters/Places/Names/Events:Ser Davos Seaworth - The Onion Knight. Davos has rejoined his king, but admires the implacable Cortnay Penrose a lot more than Stannis' new supporters. Davos smuggles Melisandre beneath the walls of Storm's End where she gives birth to a shadow in Stannis' form. Simon and Mackelly pick over the afterbirth. Chapter Review: Ser Cortnay parlays with Stannis and supporters beneath the walls of Storm's End. He refuses to yield the castle while one of the conditions is handing over Edric Storm. Stannis' new bannermen try to reassure Penrose, but the old knight throws scorn on their trustworthiness. Ser Cortnay offers single combat to settle matters without a siege, but Stannis demurs. Davos rides back with Stannis who confides that forgiving the lords that followed Renly sticks in his craw. Davos advises the king to forget Storm's End and focus on King's Landing. But Stannis is confident that Ser Cortnay dies tonight and the castle, and his bastard nephew, will be his. To that end, Davos recreates his fabled onion-run when he saved Stannis and the denizens of Storm's End from salvation. This time, he brings not food, but Melisandre. She may also cause tears. En route, they discuss good and evil and the grey areas in between. When they arrive beneath the walls, the way is blocked by a portcullis, but they're close enough. Meslisandre reveals that she is very pregnant and immediately gives birth to a shadow the size and shape of Stannis Baratheon. Davos wonders what he's done. He plays that role in real life too; advocating for the rights of refugees for World Vision. Liam tells Chris Cummins about his visits to refugee camps in Greece, Jordan and South Sudan and the lasting friendship he made with a young Syrian. “ I assume you’re here to bend the knee?” Daenerys asks Jon Snow expectantly. Jon Snow replies “I am not.” Season 7 conclusion begins in suspense as Jon Snow and Ser Davos arrive at Dragonstone to meet with Daenerys Targaryen. Upon their arrival, Varys and Melisandre have a conversation about each other’s future in Westeros. “Oh I will return dear spider. One last time. I have to die in this strange country just like you.” Melisandre tells Varys knowingly. Jon and Daenerys converse for the first time and Jon tells her and Tyrion about the army of the dead. They argue and trade facts about history and loyalties with neither backing down. “So many men have tried to kill me, I don't remember all their names. I have been sold like a broodmare. I've been chained and betrayed, raped and defiled. Do you know what kept me standing through all those years in exile? Faith. Not in any gods. Not in myths and legends. In myself. In Daenerys Targaryen.” Daenerys boasts to Jon. Varys interrupts this interaction with grave news about the Greyjoys and the Sand Snakes. At King’s Landing Euron Greyjoy brings Cersei the priceless gift he promised. Euron and Jaime have a less than friendly interaction while Cersei gets her revenge for Myrcella’s death. Cersei meets with Tycho Nestoris from the Iron Bank of Bravos and they discuss the Lannister. Back at Dragonstone Tyrion and Jon talk of the White Walkers with Jon asking Tyrion if he believes him. “I trust the eyes of an honest man more than I trust what everyone knows.” Tyrion says in response. Jon asks Daenerys to allow him to mine the dragonglass. While in Winterfell, Sansa is growing into her own and making executive decisions as the Lady of Winterfell. Meera brings Bran to Winterfell and Sansa and Bran see each other for the first time since Season 1. Bran tries to describe to Sansa the role of the Three-Eyed Raven in unsettling fashion. In the Citadel, Jorah Mormont has been cured of Grayscale and is ready to return to his Queen. Meanwhile, the Unsullied take Casterly Rock only to find out they were tricked. High Garden falls to Jaime and the Lannister army, Olenna drinks the poison and gives Jaime a confession. Jaime leads his army back to King’s Landing with all of High Gardens’s gold and harvest crops. Meanwhile, Cersei gets an interesting proposition from Tycho. In Winterfell, Petyr Baelish approaches Bran where he finds that even with all of his wits, he can’t fool someone who literally knows everything. Arya arrives in Winterfell for the first time since Season 1 and reunites with her sister and brother, and Bran gives Arya an important gift. Back at Dragonstone, Jon shows Daenerys the dragonglass and some interesting hieroglyphics that provide evidence to the existence of the Night King. Daenerys learns of latest failure at Casterly Rock and is ready to burn it all down. Before she makes a decision, she asks Jon his advice to which he tells her “If you use them to melt castles and burn cities, you’re not different. You’re just more of the same.” In Winterfell, Arya and Brienne have an epic spar while at Dragonstone, and Jon and Theon see each other for the first time since Jon left for the Night’s Watch. Randyll Tarly informs Jaime and Bronn that all of the gold is safely secured in King’s Landing, but that relief is short lived as Daenerys arrives to show them who the real Queen is. Upon her return to Dragonstone, an old knight pledges himself to her once more, and Tyrion devises a plan to make Cersei believe in the threat to the North. In Winterfell, Sansa is tempted by The Northern houses. Tyrion meets with Jaime to convince him to have Cersei agree to armistice, and Ser Davos collects an old friend from Flea Bottom. In the Citadel, Gilly comes across perhaps the most important discovery in Maester Maynards’ records, while Arya in Winterfell makes a shocking discovery of her own. At The Wall, the A-Team of Westeros go beyond to bring back a wight. After dangerous encounters with creatures of the dead, Jon and company catch a wight only to be surrounded by the Night King and his army. Is this the end for them? Or will someone come to save the day? If they do survive, will Cersei have a change of heart when presented the proof or was it all for naught? The Night King adds the most dangerous ally to his army, while in Winterfell, the Stark sisters rid themselves of a dangerous ally of their own. Bran and Sam together fit the final pieces together about Jon’s true lineage, while two relatives are rocking the boat. Meanwhile unbeknownst to anyone except the men holding The Wall at Eastwatch By The Sea, Winter is officially coming to Westeros. Take a dive with the Riddikulus Crew into the conclusion of Season 7 in our 3 and ½ hour special as things begin to come full circle, while other questions are raised. Where does Jon Snow go from here? In the words of Bran Stark “He’s never been a bastard, he’s the heir to the Iron Throne.”

"Tell your man to step aside or there will be violence." says Lancel Lannister. Cersei Lannister replies "I choose violence." Season 6 and “A Dance With Dragons” conclude in spectacular fashion as we evaluate episodes 8, 9 & 10. Brienne and Jaime Lannister lay eyes on each other for the first time since Jaime gave her his sword to find and protect Sansa Stark, King Tommen outlaws Trial By Combat and Brynden the Blackfish refuses to give up Riverrun. Over in Essos, the Masters of Astapor and Yunkai take advantage of Daenerys' absence and launch an all out assault on Meereen. At Riverrun a common foot soldier has to make a choice to either take commands from the man who reformed their army and took back Riverrun from the Frey's, or to take commands from the rightful Lord of Riverrun with a proverbial knife to his throat. Will he make the right choice? The Hound gets his revenge on the strangers who butchered the villagers he had been staying with and meets up with some familiar faces. In Bravos, the Waif corners Arya to kill her once and for all, but only one is accustomed to fighting in the pitch black. Jaquen H'ghar follows the blood trail to the Hall of Faces and makes a shocking discovery as to who's face has been added to the Hall. He turns to Arya and says "Finally a girl is no one." Arya replies "A girl is Arya Stark of Winterfell and I'm going home." Back in Meereen, Daenerys returns to her city being under attack and has vengeance on her mind. "I will crucify the masters, I will set their fleets afire, kill every last one of their soldiers and return their cities to the dirt." she declares while getting the debrief from Tyrion. Tyrion talks her down and to do it his way. They meet with the Masters and there is a misunderstanding as to whom is surrendering. Daenerys tells the Masters "We obviously didn't communicate clearly, we're here to discuss your surrender not mine." before taking flight with Drogon and destroying the Masters fleet and armies. At Winterfell, there is a parlay between the Northern houses that have sided with the Ramsay Bolton and the Northern houses/Wildlings that have sided with Jon Snow. Ramsay chides Jon and tells him "There's no need for a battle, get off your horse and kneel." to which Jon replies "You're right, there's no need for a battle, thousands of men don't need to die. Only one of us. Let's end this the old way, you against me." Ramsay doesn't take the bait and tells Jon "I keep hearing stories about you bastard, the way the people in the North talk about you, you're the greatest swordsman that ever walked. Maybe you are that good. Maybe not. I don't know if I'd beat you, but I know my army will beat yours." Jon returns the verbal spar "Aye you have the number, but will your men want to fight for you when they hear you wouldn't fight for them" which draws Ramsays ire to Jon's satisfaction. With Meereen back under control, Yara and Theon attempt to make a pact with Daenerys for the Iron Islands. Rickon Stark runs for his life in vain, the Battle of the Bastards commences. Jon receives aid from an unsuspecting ally. Ramsay's story comes full circle. In Kings Landing, the High Sparrow and others prepare for Cersei and Loras' trial. King Tommen tries to attend but his way is barred by Ser Gregor. Margaery tries to convince the High Sparrow something is wrong, but his arrogance leads them to a fiery surprise. Tommen finds out what happened and takes his own life. The Frey's have a banquet feast celebrating the retaking Riverrun with the Lannister army and Jaime openly questions Walder Frey's importance to his face. Sam arrives at the Citadel and is permitted access to the Library. Ser Davos in Winterfell confronts Melisandre about Shireen's fate in an emotional explosion and Daario Naharis learns that he will not be joining Daenerys and her army to Westeros. Arya exacts her revenge on the Frey's for the Red Wedding as things start to shift in the Stark's favor finally. Bran received safe passage to the Wall from a long lost undead Uncle and we learn there is magic in the Wall that keep the army of the dead at bay. Bran goes into a vision and we learn the truth of a certain "bastard". while Jon Snow holds a meeting in the great hall of Winterfell where the Northern houses bestow the same title upon him as they did Robb Stark. With all members of the royal family dead in Kings Landing except one, she takes the crown for herself and Daenerys is finally on her way to accomplish what she has set out to do since Season 1. Join us for this bombshell conclusion of Season 6 as the Riddikulus Crew breaks down the key points, raises questions and debates topics. As Tyrion tells Daenerys, "You're in the great game now, and the great game is terrifying."

The Three-Eyed Raven awakens and knows what has just happened and tell Bran that he must now become the new Three-Eyed Raven because the magic of the lair will no longer keep the Night King out since he marked Bran. Bran asks the Three-Eyed Raven if he is even ready to take on this task, the Three-Eyed Raven tells him no. At Castle Black, Jon Snow is preparing with his war council for the upcoming battle against Ramsay Bolton and the other houses of the North. They realize they are vastly outnumbered so Sansa sends Brienne to Riverrun to request assistance from her uncle Brynden the Blackfish. The Night King arrives at the lair and Meera, Hodor and Bran have to escape with some help from Summer and Leaf. Is it going to be enough though? It will all come down to someone holding a door closed against the many wights. As we cruise into Episode 6, we get an interesting reunion with a certain familiar First Ranger that we haven't seen since Season 1. Sam and Gilly meet Sam's family at Horn Hill which goes about as good as you could expect, Arya screws up her second chance with the faceless men and the High Sparrow outsmarts Cersei, Olenna and Jaime Lannister once more. Brynden the Blackfish has retaken Riverrun and Walder Frey learns of this from his sons and then commands them to retake it using a certain hostage. On the road back to Mereen, Daenerys finds Dragon and mounts him while giving a speech to her new Khalasar. She says, "“Ei khal fin thir nak haan okhe sen dothrakhqoy alo ji qisi mae m’auijazeri ath dineur mae vas ma anha vos khal. Anha vo vakkan sen dothrakhqoy. Anha okkak el yeri. I ask your oath, that you will live and die as blood of my blood; riding at my side to keep me safe from harm. I will ask more of you than any Khal has ever asked from a Khalasar! Will you ride the wooden horses across the Black Salt Sea? Will you kill my enemies in their iron suits and tear down their stone houses? Will you give me the Seven Kingdoms? The gift that Khal Drogo promised me before the mother of mountains as the stars looked down in witness? Are you with me now and always?!) of which she receives a resounding chorus of approval. Now moving into Episode 7, one of our favorite dirty dogs happens to be alive! Jon Snow and Tormund talk the wildlings into fighting with them against the Boltons to retake Winterfell. Jaime Lannister has to come to the Frey's aid with the Lannister army to take over the siege of Riverrun. Now with the wildings secured, Jon Snow, Sansa and Ser Davos take on the grueling task of trying to convince the other Northern houses to fight for them. In Bravos, Arya is gravely wounded from the waif and she may succumb to her wounds as nobody will help her. Meanwhile, The Hound loses the only friends he had and he's ready for revenge. Join the Riddikulus Crew for part 3 on the continuous winding river that is Season 6 of Game of Thrones. This season's breakdown is not for the faint of heart as we will conclude it's evaluation in 4 parts! In the words of Ser Davos "The real war isn't between a few squabbling houses, it's between the living and the dead. And make no mistake, the dead are coming."

"Buried, burned, she's good meat. Feed her to the hounds." Ramsay's final words to Myranda's father as they determine her final resting place. Things start to come to a head in Season 6! Alliser Thorne tells the Night's Watch that he and a few other brothers murdered Jon Snow, Brienne comes to Sansa's aid fulfilling her oath at last and Jaime Lannister brings Myrcella back to Kings Landing under the worst possible circumstances. In Sunspear, Ellaria makes sure weak men never rule Dorne again, Daenerys makes her return to Vaes Dothrak in the most humiliating way and Melisandre has a malfunction with her necklace. Meanwhile Bran goes back in time with the Three Eyed Raven and doesn't want to leave. The Three Eyed Raven tells Bran "It is beautiful beneath the sea, but if you stay too long, you will drown." Back at The Wall, Dolorous Edd returns with some wild allies to keep those loyal to Jon Snow that were held up with Jon's body in the room safe from Thorne. Over in Mereen, Tyrion has a suspenseful interaction with Viserion and Rhaegal. In Bravos, Arya goes from blind, to a beggar, to beaten until Jaquen H'ghar comes along and asks her a few questions. Satisfied with the answers, he tells her "A girl is not a beggar anymore". At Winterfell, Roose and Ramsay Bolton are at odds about how to handle Sansa's escape. Roose tells Ramsay "If you acquire a reputation as a mad dog, you will be treated as a mad dog. Taken out back and slaughtered for pig feed." At this point their Maester comes in and tells Roose that his wife Lady Walda gave birth to a boy and Ramsay congratulates his father Roose on having a newborn son the only way you could expect. In the Iron Islands, the fabled Euron Greyjoy makes his first appearance in the the show telling his brother Balon Greyjoy the King of the Iron Islands "I don't mock the Drowned God. I AM the Drowned God.'' as he ends Balon's reign. Ser Davos has to put aside his personal vendetta against the red woman and ask for the biggest request of his life in attempting to bring back Jon Snow. A ritual ensues and it must have been hot and stuffy in the room because it's only when everyone leaves (except Ghost) we get a breath of fresh air. Continue onwards with the Riddikulus Crew through our next installment of this grand Game of Thrones arc as we delve into Season 6 this week with a detailed breakdown, some great debates, hypotheticals and potential potholes as well!
