Starring Adam Sandler (in both titles), Al Pacino, Katie Holmes and Eugenio Derbez, this comedy has become the stuff of internet memes thanks to one segment of the film - the Dunkaccino advert. Dancing alongside Pacino in that advert was comedian/writer/actor Andy Goldenberg, who joins the podcast to discuss his experiences of appearing in the film. Today, we're talking about Slay the Princess, a narrative focused “collect the endings” game that has a truly impressive amount of writing to account for all of a player's possible choices. The numerous endings, scenes and dialogue choices within those scenes, all voice acted by two people no less, are the player's primary motivation to try new things and follow new paths. Fortunately for the game, though, the quality of that writing is also surprisingly good. The tone runs the gamut between horror, comedy and romance, in part reactive to the player's decisions but also in service of a greater narrative, that is largely up to the player to interpret. The fact that the game ends coherently at all, let alone with the possibility of something with real emotional resonance is a testament to just how well put together the game is. We're going to be talking about the special something the game's visuals possess that gives it a familiar, appealing quality, the way your initial experience will shape the way you progress through the game, and we misinterpret the game as getting a little…steamy. We wanted something short and simple to end the year, and while this kind of filled that role, I don't think we were prepared for the surprising amount of depth on display here. The NFL has appealed, demanding he get a much more severe punishment. This week, we discuss: First up, John recently watched the hit Netflix film Hustle on Chad's recommendation (2:00). Starring Adam Sandler, Hustle is one of the more pure and delightful films of the year, and it gets the Crunching Tackles recommendation. Taking a trip around the headlines, we discuss the LIV golf players who are suing the PGA Tour for anti-trust (8:30), and why we don't think their lawsuit will have any merit. Brittany Griner was sentenced to nine years in prison by a Russian court (12:02), so will this have any impact on the prisoner exchange process? And after Deshaun Watson's suspension was handed down, the Miami Dolphins were also suspended in connection to the allegations made by former head coach Brian Flores (14:40). What does this mean for the team and for the lawsuit Flores has against the NFL? For the big story, we dive deep into the six-game suspension handed down to Deshaun Watson (28:31). What was the rationale for the decision? Is the punishment severe enough? And what blame do the Texans and Browns have in all this as well?
