Welcome to this week's cinematic briefing, where the headlines span mega-mergers, superstar news, and the return of familiar frights. We dive into reports that Netflix could be acquiring Warner Bros. Discovery, ahead of Paramount's hostile bid this week, and what a deal like that might mean for theatrical releases, theatrical windows, streaming, content strategy, and the competition. Quentin Tarantino's candid takedown of Paul Dano sparks a conversation about auteurs, legacy, and the heat of Hollywood buzz. Scarlett Johansson lands two high-profile roles—The Exorcist and The Batman Part II—prompting discussion about genre crossovers and career trajectories. We also hear chatter about Christian Bale eyeing a role in Heat 2 and what that could mean for a crime saga revival. Paramount is pushing ahead with a live-action TMNT, while rumors swirl about a Rush Hour 4 tied to surprising sources. A new Paranormal Activity is in the works with James Wan producing, signaling another scare-filled chapter. Rounding out the episode, we preview trailers for Ready or Not 2: Here I Come, A24's Mother Mary, Obsession, and How to Make a Killing.

Tarantino called Paul Dano “weak sauce” and we had feelings about it. We also got into Jordan Peele's whole tension kingdom, ScarJo possibly turning into a Batman villain, and why every new adaptation either cooks or collapses. Plus a breakdown of the wild Warner Bros. bidding war, and the usual Apple TV praise we can't seem to stop giving. Another chaotic news cycle, another week of us laughing through it. On this episode of the MalloryBros. Podcast, the bros kick things off with the usual Weekend Recap, talking family time, potty training, and birthdays. They first get into Roddy Ricch and his album being pushed back once again, and what they think his next move should be. This sparks a bigger conversation about when artists started taking long gaps between albums and how superstars move differently in today's music climate. Next, they react to Pusha T's take that diss tracks are dead. Terrance understands where Pusha is coming from, while Terrell breaks down what he believes is Pusha's real intention behind the statement. After discussing the Netflix bid last week, the bros are back with updates on the successful acquisition, Paramount's counter offer, and what all of this could mean for movie theaters. Terrell asks Terrance about Quentin Tarantino's recent comments about Actors, and the guys talk Shedeur, the NFL, and JD5. The finish with thoughts on The Streamer Awards and Kai Cenat's acceptance speech. Follow Us on Twitter @MalloryBros9 for all updates! JOIN THE REALEST 9 on Patreon for More MalloryBros. Hey! Vibe check. How we all doin? TONIGHT, Netflix bought WB but then Paramount got mad and did a hostile takeover. I don't know what that means but it sounds angry. Quentin Tarantino wants to punch Paul Dano for some reason. We filmed something this weekend. We also have ANOTHER sad update to share.
Meghan and Miranda are in full holiday mode with the decorations glowing and the cactus tinsel shining as they dive into a packed week of politics, pop culture, and online drama. Meghan opens up about the latest body shaming from Tucker Carlson's show and talks honestly about pregnancy, weight, and the pressure women face in the Ozempic era. The conversation is real, grounded, and deeply relatable. Political strategist Yemisi Egbewole joins the show for a wide-ranging discussion about Trump-world extremism, Tucker's sudden fascination with Qatar, the GOP's Nick Fuentes problem, and what all of this means for voters who do not want political chaos. They also break down the early buzz around Josh Shapiro, the Democrats' struggle with Black voters ahead of 2028, Clyburn's kingmaker influence, and whether Gavin Newsom's California brand can translate nationally. Then the fun starts. Meghan and Miranda get into Quentin Tarantino's attack on actors Paul Dano and Matthew Lillard (and his emotional response), and the very confusing 2026 Golden Globes nominations. They also talk about why television is outperforming movies right now, and tease their upcoming watch of 50 Cent's new Diddy documentary on Netflix, which they will review on the next episode. December is here and so are we at Breakfast All Day. Kind of a random week of smaller stuff to start the last month of 2025, but the big movies are coming very soon. For now, we have: MERRILY WE ROLL ALONG. This is the filmed version of the Tony-winning musical revival. It was a notorious flop for Stephen Sondheim and is now considered a classic. Jonathan Groff, Daniel Radcliffe and Lindsay Mendez star. In theaters for a limited run. (Find out here if it's playing near you: https://www.fathomentertainment.com/releases/merrily-we-roll-along/) SISU: ROAD TO REVENGE: The great Dave White returns to help review the "Sisu" sequel after sharing his thoughts on the 2023 original. Jorma Tommila is back as a wordless badass, but now it's post-WWII, so he's killing Russians instead of Nazis. This Finnish thriller is crazy fun. In theaters. MOVIE NEWS LIVE! It's been literally a month since our last movie news livestream, and there was a ton to talk about between Netflix buying Warner Bros. and all the awards season developments. "One Battle After Another" and "Sinners" appear to be your front runners and they're ... both from Warner Bros. Plus: Why is Quentin Tarantino trashing Paul Dano? Always a lot to discuss. This week's episode of the Empire Podcast sees Christmas on our mind as we enter December, and accordingly we deliver a sackful of great guests to you, our loyal and loving listeners. First off, Chris Hewitt goes to Taron Egerton's actual flat (smells divine... and the flat wasn't bad either) to sit down with him for a candid chat about his career, his new film She Rides Shotgun, and whether or not he knows his lines. [21:05 - 38:44 approx] Then, Chris sits down with two of his absolute faves, George Clooney and Adam Sandler, for a riotous conversation about their new movie, Jay Kelly, basketball, and accents. [1:03:17 - 1:22:31 approx] And finally Chris talks to Wicked: For Good director, Jon M. Chu, in an excerpt from our upcoming spoiler special for that movie. [1:43:57 - 1:55:17 approx] Either side of those, Chris is joined in the podbooth by Helen O'Hara and James Dyer to review Jay Kelly, She Rides Shotgun, It Was Just An Accident, and Eternity; discuss the week's movie news (a ton of which broke after we had finished recording, as ever); and answer the first Christmas-related questions of the year, which leads to an unexpected Die Hard/Love Actually mash-up, and the team trying to figure out how to take down an Infinity Gauntlet-wielding Santa Claus. Oh, and our intrepid trio also dig into Quentin Tarantino's recently revealed list of his 20 favourite films of the 21st Century, and his accompanying comments about Paul Dano. Enjoy!

Meghan and Miranda soldier on — decorations half-up, vibes fully chaotic — as they round out a wild week in politics and pop culture. They kick off with Quentin Tarantino's very weird (and very personal?) attack on Paul Dano, run through Tarantino's surprise Top Films of the 21st Century list, and then hit the hard stuff: the explosive Somali fraud scandal in Minnesota, Governor Tim Walz's growing problems, and why both hosts think this could reshape 2026. Ben Ferguson jumps in to break down Tennessee's special election, what the numbers really mean for the midterms, and how Nashville voters are signaling a shift. Then political commentator Mo Kelly joins for a raw conversation on rising “woke-right” extremism, Kash Patel's messy leadership at the FBI, and why 2026 is too chaotic too predict, but impossible to ignore. Plus: movie bombs of 2025, the kids-movie takeover at the box office, what everyone's watching this weekend, why cozy sheets matter (seriously), and Meghan + Miranda's weekly *Douchebag & Darling* segment featuring Tim Walz truthers and unsolicited tree-shamers. It's politics, pop culture, holiday chaos, and absolutely zero tolerance for conspiracy weirdos... just another week on Citizen McCain. Is this a gym, or a dance studio? Thanksgiving and the whipped cream embargo. I'm not into this new AFI album, but everybody else apparently is. Landman Season 2 is upon us, and I finally caught that "American Primeval" series on Netflix. If you really want to get into the spirit of these new modern western series, you should flagellate yourself while you watch them. I went to see The Thing and pissed 115x. I shot a .357 Magnum and fell in love, and I went to see Roger Deakins speak at a screening of a gorgeous movie he shot, and then promptly made an ass of myself in front of one of my favorite directors. Quentin Tarantino shit talks Paul Dano, and Mel Gibson has an ugly black British wife for no conceivable reason in "Fat Man." (Yep, you guessed it – Netflix!)
This week, Travis is joined by Scott of the Horns over Hoops Podcast to talk about 2022's The Batman. Send us a textTurkey month is filled with surrealism isn't it?Today were talking about:What do you get when you mix Paul Dano, Daniel Radcliffe, and one very gassy corpse? That's right—Swiss Army Man (2016), the fart-fueled survival story that's equal parts heartwarming and stomach-turning.This week, we dive headfirst into the indie fever dream where flatulence becomes a flotation device, corpses give life advice, and loneliness gets very, very weird. We'll unpack the movie's deeper messages (yes, there actually are some) while laughing about the fact that someone pitched this script and A24 said, “Yeah, let's do it.”
This week, we review Little Miss Sunshine (2006), Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris's offbeat road trip dramedy about dysfunction, dreams, and the beauty of being unapologetically yourself. Abigail Breslin shines as Olive, a determined young girl en route to a beauty pageant, crammed into a busted yellow VW van with her deeply flawed but oddly lovable family. Featuring standout performances from Steve Carell, Toni Collette, Greg Kinnear, Paul Dano, and Alan Arkin, the film blends sharp wit with heartfelt moments as it explores failure, acceptance, and what it really means to win.Is chasing your dreams about the destination or just surviving the ride? Tune in as Brett Salter (Irish Salt) rejoins the podcast for a review and recap of Looper, the 2012 sci-fi thriller about a hitman who has to contend with messy timey-wimey mechanics, crime syndicate enemies, and a mission in which he needs to kill a future version of himself that's been sent back to his present-day world.
