I got to spend a lunch break with Steve Monroe, the owner, creator and screen printer behind Toxic Roots, a clothing brand inspired by living 20+ years in a neighborhood built on top of a former WWII military dumpsite in the South Patrick Shores area of Satellite Beach. We all have Toxic baggage. Physical, emotional, environmental, or traumatic these Toxic Roots shape who we are. Our goal is to highlight these issues through art, humor, and a dash of sarcasm. I spoke to Steve about what made him want to start the brand based on living on Florida's little beachside dump. We spoke about the moment he realized he had a brand there. We spoke about the themes of his brand. We also spoke about how people have taken on the Life is Toxic and what has been the best and hardest parts about running a brand. Steve spoke about how he uses what he finds to create art as well as how they travel around the state to sell - Toxic Roots. Lunch with Biggie is a podcast about small business and creatives sharing their stories and inspiring you to pursue your passion, with some sandwich talk on the side. Created, edited, and produced in Orlando, FL by Biggie- the owner of the sandwich-themed clothing brand- Deli Fresh Threads.   Toxic Roots Social: Toxic Roots IG:  https://www.instagram.com/mytoxicroots/ Toxic Roots Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/MyToxicRoots Toxic Roots Website: https://www.toxicroots.com/ Biggie's Social: Deli Fresh Thread's Instagram- https://www.instagram.com/delifreshthreads/  Podcast's Instagram- https://www.instagram.com/lunchwithbiggie/ Podcast's Facebook Group- https://www.facebook.com/groups/lunchwithbiggie Podcast's Twitter- https://twitter.com/LunchwithBiggie  Deli Fresh Threads-  https://DeliFreshThreads.com --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/lunchwithbiggie/message

There are a lot of themes running throughout 2020's Promising Young Woman; we're just not sure what the ultimate message is. That being said, this is a film that places an uncomfortable mirror in front of the viewer and forces you to look into it. And we'll do our best to try to look inward and address the many problems with the film and ourselves with returning guest Jennie Lee. We'll also discuss the quintessential home decor of your typical East LA douchebag, our Bo Burnham/Freddy Krueger musical pitch, sexist golf clubs, and much more. And lastly; it's totally okay to not like this movie. If you or someone you know has been a victim of sexual assault or abuse, the National Sexual Assault Hotline is 1-800-656-HOPE (4673).Promising Young Woman stars Carey Mulligan, Bo Burnham, Alison Brie, Adam Brody, Connie Britton, Jennifer Coolidge, Laverne Cox, Max Greenfield, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Sam Richardson, Molly Shannon, Clancy Brown, Chris Lowell, and Steve Monroe. On today's show, we are recording on location in Shirley, Maine.  I was invited by a great friend, Clay Groton to travel up to Maine, on a late-season turkey hunt with Bearit Guide Service. Clay's Friend Zach Monroe and his father Steve Monroe just purchased a new hunting camp and graciously invited us to come up and experience mountain turkey hunting. Steve Monroe is a seasoned hunting guide who spends most of his time guiding clients on once in a lifetime Moose and Bear hunts, but on this late-season turkey hunt, we found that his hunting knowledge goes way beyond the big game. He opened his hunting camp up to a few Maryland boys to come experience all the Moosehead Lake region has to offer. Clay and I give a wrap up of the 2020 spring turkey season and get to share an amazing Maine turkey hunting story. The north woods of Maine proved to be a force to be reckoned with, but after a tough few days of hunting, we were able to get ourselves in a position for a heart-stopping final morning in Maine.  I hope you enjoy this show as we retell some hunting tales while at turkey camp.  Be sure to check out Bearit Guide Services in Shirley, Maine.Website: http://www.bearitguideservice.com Email: bearit@metrocast.net Phone: 207-3247784The Interrupted Podcast Websitewww.Interruptme.orgThe Interrupted Podcast Instagram Page@theinterrupted_podcast@interrupted_outdoorsThe interrupted Outdoors Facebook Pagewww.facebook.com/interruptedoutdoors
