It's another jam-packed episode of Talkin' Rock with Meltdown. First up, it's David Ellefson. This guy has so many projects in the works, but I thought we'd talk to discuss his documentary about the late Nick Menza. We got to that, but first, we talked about seeing Alice In Chains for the first time, and why he has so many projects. He said he just says Yes! Tom Hunting from Exodus is next. I've never met or spoken to Tom. I found him very chill and thoughtful with his answers. We talked about his recent 60th birthday. We also discussed his health and pray for the best for him. The band is in the middle of writing and recording their 12th album. He told me he's grateful to have done something that he likes for so long. Zouzou Mansour of Soraia wraps up this episode. The East Coast band has a new song out (So Holy) with an EP to drop later this year. We spoke to the latest music, working on the album in Sweden, and horror movies. Zou's a big scary movie chick. Enjoy!

Here's what we talked about: 40th Anniversary of Bonded By Blood (0-1) Band Name vs. Song Name, which came first? (1-3) "And Then There Were None" (3-5) RIP Paul Baloff (5-7) Rob Dukes back "Let There Be Blood" (Bonded by Blood re-record) (7-10) New Music (10-15) Mandatory Metallica (15-end)
Meet Captain Content & Kevin in the pit again this week for a tooth-losing, hella good time! We're getting our aggressions out by revisiting the starting point of it all for Kevin. The thrash, crossover, speed metal movement of the 80s spawned his love of all things rock n' punk n' metal. Once again, we will not be covering the Big 4 of Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, and Anthrax, but if you love them, then you will love this bunch. What is it that we do here at InObscuria? We exhume obscure Rock n' Punk n' Metal in one of 3 categories: the Lost, the Forgotten, or the Should Have Beens. In this episode, we explore all things mosh-worthy! This is real meta,l people. All hail the speed and ferocity of Thrash! Our hope is that we turn you on to something new.Songs this week include:Exodus – “And Then There Were None”from Bonded By Blood(1985)Dead On – “The Widower” from Dead On (1989) Belladonna – “Blunt Man” from Belladonna (1995)Coroner – “Read My Scars” from No More Color (1989)Reverend – “Butcher Of Baghdad” from Play God (1991)Grip Inc. – “Guilty Of Innocence” from Power Of Inner Stregth (1995)Havok – “Fear Campaign” from V (2020)Please subscribe everywhere that you listen to podcasts!Visit us: https://inobscuria.com/https://www.facebook.com/InObscuriahttps://twitter.com/inobscuriahttps://www.instagram.com/inobscuria/Buy cool stuff with our logo on it!: https://www.redbubble.com/people/InObscuria?asc=uIf you'd like to check out Kevin's band THE SWEAR, take a listen on all streaming services or pick up a digital copy of their latest release here: https://theswear.bandcamp.com/If you want to hear Robert and Kevin's band from the late 90s – early 00s BIG JACK PNEUMATIC, check it out here: https://bigjackpnuematic.bandcamp.com/Check out Robert's amazing fire sculptures and metal workings here: http://flamewerx.com/
n this episode, Gary Holt, one of thrash metal's most influential guitarists, joins the show to discuss his new book, Exodus' upcoming album, and his time with Slayer. Holt shares insane tour stories, the inspiration behind his book, and what fans can expect from the latest Exodus release.Holt joined Exodus in 1981, shortly after the band was formed by drummer Tom Hunting and guitarist Kirk Hammett (who later left to join Metallica). Taking over lead guitar duties after Hammett's departure, Holt became the band's primary songwriter and creative leader, helping Exodus forge a path as one of the most aggressive and unrelenting forces in thrash metal. Albums like Bonded by Blood, Fabulous Disaster, and Tempo of the Damned solidified Exodus as a cornerstone of the genre. In 2011, Holt was asked to step in for Slayer's Jeff Hanneman, initially as a temporary replacement but eventually becoming a full-time touring guitarist. He remained with Slayer until their final tour in 2019& currennt reunion onr offs, playing a key role in maintaining the band's brutal live energy and contributing to their final studio album, Repentless. Balancing two of thrash metal's most legendary bands, Holt's influence on the genre is undeniable. In this conversation, Holt reflects on his decades in thrash, the relentless energy of playing with Slayer, and the legacy of Exodus. He also teases massive upcoming tours and hints at more projects beyond music. For fans of thrash metal history, behind-the-scenes stories, and legendary musicianship, this episode is a must-listen!

Esta formación grabó el segundo demo "Die by His Hand". Seguiremos Su Historia En El Siguiente Podcast...... Tom discusses how important it is that the church recognize their role to play in the body. It is key that everyone participate, not just a few. He also spoke on how not everyone is meant by God to do the same roles within the church, and how a healthy church is diverse, but still a strong unit.

(Photo- Scott Alexander) Bay Area thrash legends Exodus performed in Vancouver recently as part of a co-headlining tour with Kreator, and co-founders drummer Tom Hunting and guitarist Gary Holt took a time-out with ABORT Magazine to discuss their new live DVD, their fave Canadian metal bands and their upcoming album; The Atrocity Exhibition: Exhibit B. To say that Exodus is legendary in Metal is an understatement. And to see them tour with Kreator is every Metalhead's dream. I was happy to speak with Tom, as he does not do too many interviews. I like how direct he was (after-show with the fans, thoughts on the other bands). He does seem to prefer the new material over the old, but I suppose he gets tired of the playing the same old songs all the time. But there is hope of getting some new songs in their setlist (Free For All!). And yes Tom, I do know you're not Gary Holt. You're Rob McKillop! m/ Email: blacknightmeditations@msn.com Playlists: http://wsca.radioactivity.fm/show.html?showoid=1242 BLACK NIGHT MEDITATIONS - A heathenish foray along the shining path.
