Happy Sunday! Today we are talking about the first book in the Blackwater Graphic Novel series. Set in the haunted town of Blackwater, Maine, two boys fall for each other as they dig for clues to a paranormal mystery. Tony Price is a popular high school track star and occasional delinquent aching for his dad's attention and approval. Eli Hirsch is a quiet boy with a chronic autoimmune disorder that has ravaged his health and social life. What happens when these two become unlikely friends (and a whole lot more . . .) in the spooky town of Blackwater, Maine? Werewolf curses, unsavory interactions with the quarterback of the football team, a ghostly fisherman haunting the harbor, and tons of high school drama. Co-illustrated by Jeannette Arroyo and Ren Graham, who alternate drawing chapters in their own unique and dynamic styles, Blackwater combines the spookiness of Anya's Ghost with the irreverent humor of Nimona. Follow us on our socials and subscribe! We post a new episode every Sunday!! https://linktr.ee/JOMPage Next week we will be talking about: Violet Made of Throne by Gina Chen
This week's special bonus episode of Life in Food with Laura Price is a bit of a change from the norm because I've interviewed my very own parents, Chris and Tony Price, who are celebrating 50 years of marriage in 2022. I credit my parents for leading me to my love of food, but I've never really explored where their own love of food comes from, so I wanted to quiz them about their own parents, the foods they ate growing up and how they went from a young couple who never ate out to regular restaurant goers and world travellers. In the episode, we talk about growing up with ration books, sharing a love of Fry's Chocolate Cream bars, and the secret to a long and happy marriage.Chris and Tony Price's restaurant recommendations:The Alice Hawthorne in Nun Monkton. The Three Acres in Huddersfield. The Dunkirk in Huddersfield.About The Berni Inn.About the host: Laura Price is a multilingual journalist who travels the world writing about restaurants. In today's episode, I share some interesting personal news, which I won't elaborate here (you'll have to listen!) I recently did a guest spot on the Side Hustle Bookkeeper podcast with Tony Price. It will probably be released in a week, but you can find that podcast at: www.sidehustlebookkeeper.com Wearing masks is one of those rare, once in a hundred years things that our society seems to have adopted (by force or willingly) as something we will be doing for the next few months. You can profit greatly from this trend by listing your own mask designs on Etsy! Many sellers are getting 15-25 mask orders per DAY, which during the summer is a very welcome stream of extra income. In this episode, I talk about how to create designs, and how to manage customer expectations for a product that will take a while to arrive to a customer. I HAVE AN EMAIL LIST! An interview with Tony Price, Penn class of 1979 and the leading scorer on the most successful basketball team in Penn's history.
Gold stars are usually considered a good thing. If you have a family member in active combat, it's the opposite of good. Tony is doing his part to mitigate the badness via the Gold Star Ride. Baltimore also has its share of badness, so it's always a good idea to do your part to not contribute to that atmosphere. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
