Welcome To The Real Oshow, On this week's episode of The Real OShow, brothers Joshua and Zachary dive into the real reason FIFA left the Olympics…Money. FIFA realized they could make way more by launching their own World Cup, where they control everything: the media rights, the sponsors, and ultimately, the narrative. The Olympics couldn't offer that. The brothers break down how this move allowed players to earn more and gave FIFA unmatched global leverage. Then the conversation shifts to the NBA. Mark Cuban once pitched a similar idea to Adam Silver, why doesn't the NBA leave FIBA and launch its own version of a Basketball World Cup? Silver shut it down at the time, citing long-term contracts with FIBA. But Joshua and Zachary aren't buying that as the end of the story. They speculate the NBA will eventually go the FIFA route, especially with the rise of global stars and growing international fandom. And maybe that's why Maverick Carter and LeBron James are quietly building their own international basketball league, through their F1-like concept that mirrors Formula 1's global model. Is this their way of laying the infrastructure for the inevitable World Cup of Basketball? The brothers connect the dots and lay out the business strategy behind what could be the biggest evolution in the sports

We open the show with news that Rob is headed to Dubai to do an event with the Lakers – even though he has NO idea what he’s supposed to do! Rob says he’s excited to go to Dubai but refuses to go up on the deck of the Burj Khalifa because he hates heights, which spins us into a discussion about bucket list travel destinations. After we settle in, we get right into the latest on the Jimmy Butler drama – because while the Suns seem to be the destination of choice for Jimmy, Rob makes a compelling argument about why he’d be so much better as a Golden State Warrior. Rob also reacts to Lou Williams saying the Suns are not a good team, agreeing that they are “top heavy” in their roster and they need to secure a bench. The debate about Jayson Tatum being called “soft” breaks out, as it comes down to someone who is “quiet” being labeled as “soft”. Rob says that players that have antics on and off the floor are a cover, because it means they aren’t confident enough to let their game speak for itself. We also dive into some wild James Harden stats, whether Maverick Carter’s “rival NBA” idea can find any footing, and how everyone felt about Ohio State winning the National Championship Game. A Big Shot of the Week goes out to Jay Leno, Vanessa Bryant, and the celebrities that are helping provide to Los Angeles residents and first responders in the wake of the wildfires. And we close it out with a fun game of NBA High-Low! This week's show is presented by Draft Kings!! New DraftKings customers can bet $5 to get $200 in bonus bets instantly! Episode 132 is a banger as we dive into the life of a gentleman who has found himself behind the scenes in the professional sports world and NBA; Josh Kahn. A New York native Josh has an interesting story about how he has been able to carve out a life of directing and film/content producing. From starting at NYU film school, then interning at NBC Josh slowly built his resume right before the economy crashed in the United States. From there a funny but also inspiring story about going after something you want has Josh landing a position as the senior creative producer for the Chicago Bulls! With the Bulls, Josh had to really find his skill set as his role was a pretty unique one for that time; not many NBA teams were creating content and it wasn't a priority yet. Using his interpersonal skills to connect with players like Derrick Rose, Taj Gibson, Pau Gasol and Jimmy Butler, Josh has great reflection and insight on what it takes to keep moving forward in the industry. After his time with the Bulls, Josh gets a unique opportunity to work for Uninterrupted led by Maverick Carter and Lebron James, leading to Josh being involved in many major projects. Josh is an award-winning director and holds a unique (not so anymore) hidden talent which has become a fun little adventure for him. A creative, insightful and talented person this episode has some great stories and conversation. To see more of the work Josh has made you can find it on his website https://www.joshkahn.tv/.
