Putting together VideoFuzzy ep. 100 -- coffee certainly helps!   Hi! My name is Terry J. Aman, marking my 100th episode of VideoFuzzy, reporting the progress I've made in cataloging thousands of VHS transfers and digital recordings. This set covers discs 1751 to 1800 in my Classic Collection. I open with a project overview highlighting some of my finds. For my Fuzzy Feature, I encountered the 100th episode of "Bones" that recalled the first case Booth and Bones worked on together. I found a similar story construction in "In Plain Sight," and talked about that one as well. Under Cross Connections I trace Golden Threads Todd Giebenhain and, later, Michael Shamus Wiles. Also, appearances by Amy Acker, Lee Majors, Kathy Najimy, Bryan Batt, Alan Ruck, Stephen Root, Katie Sackhoff, Mark Bergeron, Angela Bassett, Sarah Silverman, Rita Moreno, Dana Delany, Sheryl Crow, Mary Pat Gleason, Marc A. Sheppard, Charlotte Arren, Johnny Broderick, Cyd Cherise, Fred Astaire, Jane Lynch, Olivia Munn and Brian Skala. And under Fond Reflections, love for Michelle Trachtenberg of "Buffy," "Mercy" and "Six Feet Under," and I share some headcanon from an "Angel" chat group I was in. In Video Outreach, I share comments from author and fellow podcaster Kemper Donovan on my review of "Loose Lips," available here: https://bit.ly/3C11ENN Kemper hosts the "All About Agatha" podcast here: https://bit.ly/43j4hnB Then I chat with my sister, Patti Ellingson, about shows we've enjoyed, including "Doctor Who," "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," "Bridgerton" and "Stranger Things." I know I've mentioned my sister's influence on my television viewing different times over the course of this production, and this felt like a fantastic opportunity to chat with her directly. So much fun! In my Classic Collection, I take almost a disc-by-disc deep dive on what I was finding in this set, beginning with a third meet-cute storyline I encountered in this set: the first season finale of "Human Target." Also, comments on "Arrested Development," "The Simpsons," "FlashForward," "Archer," "24," "Caprica," "Community," "Mercy," "Ugly Betty," "Parks and Recreation," "Justified," 2002 and 2005 MTV Movie Award shows, "The Daily Show" and "The Colbert Report," "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" C-SPAN coverage of the Affordable Care Act, "Breaking Bad," "The Big Bang Theory," "Jawbreaker," "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?" "Batman Returns," "The Three Faces of Eve," "Sybil," Union activity at The Minot Daily News, "Star Trek Voyager," "Fawlty Towers," "Monty Python's Flying Circus," commercials and music videos, "LOST," "Cougar Town," "Castle," "Fringe," "Chuck," "Broadway Melody of 1940," "Silk Stockings," "V" and "Damages."  Also surfacing in this cataloging effort I found home movies, including a one-act presented at the Carnegie Center in Minot in 2002 or so called "Excerpts." Friends of mine read from books in my collection: https://bit.ly/3DslFO6 It's a bit silly, but if you think of books on your shelves murmuring to one another, that was the idea I was going for. Then, from 100 episodes, I share 100 clips! But there'd only be 99, right? Well, one of the clips I shared referenced outtakes from a "Michael Caine in Space" sketch on "The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" which, at the time, I had trouble locating. Since then, I was able to locate it here: https://bit.ly/4hnn9XM Enjoy! Finally, in What I've Been Watching, Ralph and I took in Larry Shue's "The Nerd" at the Vernal Theatre downtown, and I shared some thoughts. The company closes out its season with a production of Cole Porter's "Kiss Me Kate" coming up in mid-April, and we're looking forward to it. Tickets and information at https://www.vernaltheatre.com.

Send us a textWelcome back to another blockbuster episode of Fabulous Film & Friends, our 95th to be precise, and I do apologize for the delay in production. But kids, I'm a working man and if you want a more reliable and steady stream of FFF episodes, be sure to like and subscribe to the channel on Youtube or Buzzsprout, et al.  And by all means tell your friends about us! So! This week! We're going to make up for lost time and come out swinging to face not one but two of Joel and Ethan Coen's finest features in their impressively long and ever changing catalog of top hits: 2007's No Country for Old Men starring Tommy Lee Jones, Javier Bardem, Josh Brolin, Kelly MacDonald, Garret Dillahunt, Tess Harper, Stephen Root and Woody Harrelson and 2013's Inside Llewyn Davis starring Oscar Isaac, Carey Mulligan, Justin Timberlake, Garrett Hedlund, Adam Driver, Max Casella, Stark Sands, F. Murray Abraham and John Goodman.  I'm your host Gino Caputi and this week I have 80% of my team of the regulars back, starting with outdoorsman and frontier type from Salt Lake City Utah, no stranger to captive bolt stunners he, the one and only Burton Brown! Then there's my book smart kid sister Roseanne Caputi who has read all of Cormac McCarthy's novels 10x each, Texas Hypnotherapist and professional coin flipper Joe Field and the man whose peak years were spent sporting his signature Anton Chigurh Prince Valiant hairdo and black denim jacket, Gordon Alex Robertson! Before we cross into a never-ending circle of physical pain, broken-hearts and dashed dreams, the synopses: In No Country for Old Men the paths of Texas Sheriff Ed Tom Bell, a mysterious hitman named Anton Chigurh, and Vietnam veteran Llewellyn Moss collide when Moss stumbles upon $2 million at the site of a drug deal gone wrong. When Moss decides to keep the money, he finds himself in the crosshairs of the ruthless and relentless Chigurh, while Sheriff Bell struggles to keep up in a world spiraling beyond his control and comprehension. Inside Llewyn Davis chronicles a tumultuous but typical week in the life of its eponymous hero, an acerbic struggling folk singer in 1960s Greenwich Village. As Llewyn Davis ambles from gig to gig and friend's couch to friend's couch during a harsh New York winter, with a quick spirit-crushing sojourn to Chicago, he is faced with an unshakable truth that talent and artistic integrity may not be enough to break into an unforgiving music scene.Follow the FFF Facebook page!https://www.facebook.com/groups/fabulousfilmandfriends Like and subscribe on Youtube

This week, we're fixin' to do somethin' dumber than hell but we're gonna do it anyway, as we close out No-Theme-ber by circling back to the coin-flip best movie of 2007, a gravely serious and barbed-wire-taut neo-western crime thriller that the Coens still manage to sneak an enormous amount of low-key goofy comedy into. It's 2007's No Country For Old Men, written and directed by Joel and Ethan Coen, based on the book by Cormac McCarthy, and starring Josh Brolin, Javier Bardem, Tommy Lee Jones, Woody Harrelson, Kelly Macdonald, Garrett Dillahunt, Tess Harper, Barry Corbin, Beth Grant and Stephen Root. It's Hayley's nomination for November's canon consideration as we use the last Friday of the month to induct another classic into the pod pantheon. Plus: J Mo's trip to Gladiator II has us recounting memorable bad audience behavior from our years of going to the theater. If you'd like to watch this week's movie before listening to our discussion, No Country For Old Men is now streaming on both Amazon Prime and Netflix in Canada at the time of publication. Other works referenced in this episode include Wicked, The Stand (1994), The Stand (2020), Station Eleven, Bridesmaids, Ghostbusters: Answer The Call, Super 8, Star Trek Into Darkness, The Fabelmans, The Holdovers, Transformers One, Jack Reacher, Robin Hood (2010), Abigail, Maximum Overdrive, Terminator 2: Judgment Day, Mad Max: Fury Road, Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, The Blues Brothers, The Big Lebowski, Grindhouse, There Will Be Blood, Inherent Vice, W. and Deadpool 2 among countless others. We'll be back next week to kick off another theme month as the last month of 2024 sees the return of A DePalmber to ReMalmber! That's right, we're going back to the well for DePalmber: Part De, which begins next Friday with The Untouchables, and continues with Body Double and our December canon entry, Blow Out. (We'll take a quick break from DePalma to celebrate Shaqmas with Shaquille O'Neal in Blue Chips.) Until then, we'll see you at the movies!!

We had an incredible cast for that one including Will Forte, Stephen Root, Rachel Harris, Sam Richardson and more.  Andy has written on Malcolm In The Middle, Community, Last Man On earth, Brooklyin Nine-Nine and currently he's been writing for Krapopolis. Recently, he posted some of his sitcom writing rules on twitter that we found to be super spot on and we wanted to talk to him about it. There's a lot of extremely practical advice in this one. Things that can help comedy writers at any level who are maybe stuck on a scene or looking for general things not to do. You can find his list here This is for all writers or fans who are interested in the craft of how comedy shows are written. Dana and Tom with new guest, Adam Vanderwerff, discuss the irreverent workplace satire, Office Space (1999): written and directed by Mike Judge, music by John Frizzell, starring Ron Livingston, Jennifer Aniston, Gary Cole, and Stephen Root.Plot Summary: In the suburban labyrinth of cubicles and copy machines, "Office Space" emerges as a wry and incisive commentary on the soul-sucking ennui of corporate America. Director Mike Judge masterfully crafts a tale that delves into the mundane yet oddly compelling lives of software company employees who find themselves trapped in a cycle of monotony and middle-management absurdity. At its core, "Office Space" is a comedic exploration of existential dread, centering on the disillusioned Peter Gibbons (played with deadpan brilliance by Ron Livingston), who undergoes a profound existential crisis triggered by a botched hypnotherapy session. Liberated from the shackles of ambition, Peter embarks on a subversive journey of workplace rebellion alongside his equally disenchanted comrades, Michael Bolton (David Herman) and Samir Nagheenanajar (Ajay Naidu).Judge navigates the murky waters of office politics with razor-sharp wit, skewering corporate culture and its absurdities with precision and hilarity. From the mind-numbing TPS reports to the insidious machinations of upper management, every facet of office life becomes fair game for Judge's biting satire. You can now follow us on Instagram, Twitter, or TikTok (@gmoatpodcast) or find our Facebook page at Greatest Movie of All-Time Podcast. For more on the episode, go to: https://www.ronnyduncanstudios.com/post/office-space-1999-ft-adam-vanderwerffFor the entire rankings list so far, go to:Full Graded List - Greatest Movies of All-Time Ronny Duncan Studios

Stephen Root is a genius actor who brought humanity to the character of the outsider. Jay and Stephen share the feeling of being on the outside and how that makes being an artist more insightful but being a guy at a party more of a drag. Stephen talks about the art of acting and auditioning and what it's like to finally be able to tell the producers “no” when it's not something he wants to do. Jay, on the other hand, talks about whoring himself out for just about anything which explains why he's on a podcast in the first place.Bio: Yeah, Stephen Root will be in the business about 47 years this year. He started out in 1976 doing a lot of theater, touring, New York off Broadway, finally Broadway stuff, then some movies and stuff, commercials, what have you. He will probably be remembered for the first half of his career for a couple of Mike Judge projects, Office Space, and King of the HIll. In the second half he did lots of television, some movies and a lot of animation. Probably best remembered in that half for the movie Get Out, and a lot of HBO shows, the last of which was Barry, with Bill Hader and Henry Winkler. That was good, we think. He can be seen recently in the sci-fi show epic called Beacon 23 for MGM plus. Good luck finding that. Still working occasionally he does lots of animation projects, and again some TV and movie stuff. I think that's it, it's all we can remember anyway, as Harry Nilsson says, nobody cares about the railroads anymore. From Straw Hut Media

A young black man visits his white girlfriend's family for the weekend and his suspicions of how he'll be received pales in comparison to their real plans.Get Out is Jordan Peele's first horror film and what an effort. This movie is a thriller from beginning to end and keeps the viewers at the edge of their seats. It's conceptually brilliant and the pace continues to pick up throughout the film. It also features incredible performances from Daniel Kaluuya, Allison Williams, Bradley Whitford, Catherine Keener, Caleb Landry Jones, Lil Rey Howery, and Stephen Root. Although we believe Jordan Peele's 2nd movie, Us, is a bit better, Get Out is a phenomenal movie that doesn't lose its luster after multiple watches.  Check out our website https://thefinalpodcast.com/Subscribe to our YouTube channel  @thefinalpodcast  Follow us on Facebook The Final Podcast Follow us on Instagram @thefinalpodcastFollow us on Twitter @thefinalpodeverMusic Credit: Karl Casey @ White Bat Audiohttps://www.youtube.com/channel/UC_6h...

[School of Everything Else 2023] This is quite an extraordinary case. A Netflix show released in two chunks of five episodes apiece, six months apart, back in 2021. 93% fresh with professional critics. And if you sit down and watch it, this is the best Masters of the Universe story ever told.  And EVERYBODY HATES IT!  Seriously, go check YouTube and get bombarded by the scorn and bile. Observe the 38% audience score. Try finding ANY positive analysis from the fans. It might get easier with time, (especially as a lot of folks only watched the first episode and then reacted with outrage, and many did not catch the second half of the series after all those months) but when we put this episode together our decision had to be to NOT second-guess all the people who loathe this show, and their reasons for hatred. Some cold hard facts about it: He-Man is killed in the first episode. From that point on, Eternia is in trouble, and that could have dire, far-reaching consequences. The focus is on Teela, Prince Adam's former bodyguard, furious at being lied to for years, and with her one job in tatters. But she's the one who has to get the gang back together, form an uneasy alliance with an old enemy, and journey to both Heaven and Hell in order to potentially make things right again. It has a stunning voice cast, including Mark Hamill, Lena Heady, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Stephen Root, Griffin Newman, Diedrich Bader, Susan Eisenberg, Phil LaMarr, Cree Summer, Kevin Michael Richardson, Tony Todd, Justin Long, Alicia Silverstone, and an all-too-brief cameo from Kevin Conroy.  It has true character growth, dramatic confrontations, untrodden ground explored, secrets revealed and bittersweet decisions made. It is exceptionally good, and apparently here is the only place you're going to be told about that.

Happy Wine Wednesday! We're back with another installment in our Boozy Beginnings series.  Candi joined me this week to talk about the pilot episode of the HBO series Barry. We kick off our discussion by talking about the opening scene in which we meet Barry who looks like he is struggling to feel satisfied in his career as an assassin.  We also talk about how the writers very efficiently acquainted us with him via some well done exposition from Fuches.  Barry is the show's namesake and undoubtedly the main character, but the interesting cast of characters is absolutely part of the charm of this series.  In light of that, I ask Candi a few questions for sh*ts and giggles - including her thoughts about NoHo Hank.  We love him! After a few Barry-inspired questions, we share what worked well in the pilot and whether there was anything that didn't work for us.  If you're new to Barry, we try to further entice you to watch by sharing three words to describe the series.  Have no fear, our discussion is spoiler free - nothing beyond the pilot episode. As always, we end with our thirsty thoughts.  It's a Barry episode, so of course we swoon over Bill Hader.Friendly reminder - we drink, we know things, we use adult language, and we have a great time.  Find and follow Candi on Twitter here. Thank you so much for listening!  Support the showFollow the pod on IG and Twitter.
