"Luc Besson's DRACULA (2025) Review — Baroque Mess or Vampire Masterpiece? Jose (Cupcake) and Mike (The WillDaBeast) dive into Luc Besson's Dracula: A Love Tale (2025) — the wildly divisive gothic romance that premiered at Cannes Film Festival and is finally making its way to audiences. Is this campy, kung-fu-gargoyle-filled fever dream a bold reimagining of Bram Stoker's classic or just an expensive baroque mess? The guys break down Caleb Landry Jones's hypnotic, chameleonic turn as the Count, Christoph Waltz completely going off-script, the film's obvious debt to Coppola's Bram Stoker's Dracula, and why — despite everything — neither host could look away. Grab your capes and a box of tissues, because Pop Culture Weekly is going full Gothic! This week, Kyle McMahon is sinking his teeth into director Luc Besson's latest masterpiece, Dracula: A Love Tale with conversaitons from Luc himself and stars Caleb Landry Jones & Zoe Bleu. Forget the 1931 foreign menace or the sweaty, sensual Hammer versions of the '50s. We're moving past the "Victorian paranoia with cheekbones" and diving straight into the "emotionally wrecked man-vampire" era. Kyle explores how Dracula has evolved from a real estate-obsessed monster into a guy who has crossed oceans of time just to be ghosted by his own mortality. In this episode:The History of the Fang: Kyle breaks down the evolution of the world's most famous vampire, from Bela Lugosi to the "flexible" 2020 version who absorbs skills like a supernatural vacuum.A Miracle in Progress: Legendary director Luc Besson joins the show to explain why he chose a 400-year-old love story over generic monster mayhem. He also shares his secret to filmmaking: it takes two years to make a good movie and only two minutes to "f*** it up."The World's Loneliest Gentleman: Stars Caleb Landry Jones and Zoë Bleu stop by to talk about humanizing a monster. Caleb discusses being a "sponge" for Besson's specific directions, while Zoë reveals why this version of Dracula is actually—wait for it—a total gentleman.Relatable Undead: Kyle admits that while he wouldn't wait 400 years for a person, he might consider it for some really high-quality tacos.Whether you're a hardcore horror fan or just someone who's "emotionally available to be hurt" by a Gothic romance, this episode is mandatory listening.Dracula just wanted to be loved... and honestly, don't we all?|Dig furhter into Dracula with my video A Brief History of Dracula - And What He Says About Us" here: https://youtu.be/EjrHKFUf_gAIf you dig the show, subscribe, rate, and share - and tell your friend who's always stealing your streaming passwords.

Luc Besson finally made a Dracula movie in 2026… and somehow turned it into a boring, horny, perfume‑addled fever dream instead of a gothic horror classic. In this episode of The Cinema Psychos Show, Brian tears into Dracula (2026) and explains why this shiny new take on the Count feels more like a knockoff of better Dracula films than a bold reinvention. We break down everything that went wrong: Vlad accidentally killing his own wife, God apparently "rewarding" him with vampirism, the unhinged sex‑perfume subplot, cartoonish suicide jumps, rubbery CGI gargoyles, and a tone that ping‑pongs between tragic romance, goofy comedy, and Axe body spray commercial. Brian also digs into Caleb Landry Jones' off‑kilter Dracula, Christoph Waltz on autopilot, and a Danny Elfman score that deserves a much better movie. Along the way, we compare Besson's vision to Coppola's Bram Stoker's Dracula, modern Nosferatu takes, and other adaptations that actually respect the character, and ask the big question: what the hell happened to Luc Besson as a filmmaker? Plus, we dip into some wild online reviews from people who genuinely think this is the best Dracula in years. First world problems plague a pop star in the unpredictable mockumentary "The Moment." Charlie XCX plays a fictionalized version of herself in the story of her preparations for a concert and tour. While not a comedy per se, it pokes fun at the whole "Brat" phenomenon and satirizes pop stardom. “The Moment” is an interesting experiment more than a satisfying movie and features surprisingly little music. Those sensitive to flashing light, steer clear. French director Luc Besson offers his offbeat take on "Dracula." Caleb Landry Jones is impressive as the cursed vampire who spends centuries searching for his lost love. Besson's opulent, operatic approach is visually engaging, but the movie is overlong and peppered with unintentionally funny moments. "Dracula" doesn't exactly suck, but it isn't a full-blooded horror, either. Perhaps the best thing you can say about the Angel Studios romantic comedy "Solo Mio" is that it's harmless. Kevin James plays a middle-aged schoolteacher who travels to Rome with his fiancée, only to be jilted at the altar. Will he ever find love again? Everything about the script is utterly phony, but the photogenic Italian scenery gives "Solo Mio" a minor boost. The main things wrecked in the Amazon Prime action comedy "The Wrecking Crew" are cars, motorcycles, helicopters, property...and logic. Dave Bautista and Jason Momoa play estranged half-brothers who are forced to work together to solve the mystery of their father's death. The action is relentless, and the Hawaiian scenery is "nani." But the lapse of plot coherence in “The Wrecking Crew” wrecks any real sense of peril.

Hosted on Acast. It's all about the hustle, the music, and the unique narrative that takes a life of its own—one that's as dynamic as the roles they will soon embody in their silver screen debut. As the final act, we peel back the layers of what it takes to transition from the recording studio to the movie set, exploring the strategic release of Black Oxygen's summer-vibed album, carefully planned alongside their film debut and tour dates. A young black man visits his white girlfriend's family for the weekend and his suspicions of how he'll be received pales in comparison to their real plans.Get Out is Jordan Peele's first horror film and what an effort. This movie is a thriller from beginning to end and keeps the viewers at the edge of their seats. It's conceptually brilliant and the pace continues to pick up throughout the film. It also features incredible performances from Daniel Kaluuya, Allison Williams, Bradley Whitford, Catherine Keener, Caleb Landry Jones, Lil Rey Howery, and Stephen Root. Although we believe Jordan Peele's 2nd movie, Us, is a bit better, Get Out is a phenomenal movie that doesn't lose its luster after multiple watches.  Check out our website https://thefinalpodcast.com/Subscribe to our YouTube channel  @thefinalpodcast  Follow us on Facebook The Final Podcast Follow us on Instagram @thefinalpodcastFollow us on Twitter @thefinalpodeverMusic Credit: Karl Casey @ White Bat Audiohttps://www.youtube.com/channel/UC_6h...
