Once upon a Time in Cinema Der Filmpodcast

A young black man visits his white girlfriend's family for the weekend and his suspicions of how he'll be received pales in comparison to their real plans.Get Out is Jordan Peele's first horror film and what an effort. This movie is a thriller from beginning to end and keeps the viewers at the edge of their seats. It's conceptually brilliant and the pace continues to pick up throughout the film. It also features incredible performances from Daniel Kaluuya, Allison Williams, Bradley Whitford, Catherine Keener, Caleb Landry Jones, Lil Rey Howery, and Stephen Root. Although we believe Jordan Peele's 2nd movie, Us, is a bit better, Get Out is a phenomenal movie that doesn't lose its luster after multiple watches.  Check out our website https://thefinalpodcast.com/Subscribe to our YouTube channel  @thefinalpodcast  Follow us on Facebook The Final Podcast Follow us on Instagram @thefinalpodcastFollow us on Twitter @thefinalpodeverMusic Credit: Karl Casey @ White Bat Audiohttps://www.youtube.com/channel/UC_6h...

Tune in as Sean (Review It Yourself) jumps into the guest chair for a review and recap of X-Men: First Class, the 2011 soft reboot (until it got retconned by 2014's X-Men: Days of Future Past) of the X-Men superhero film franchise. A few of the talking points that Arthur and Sean cover are mutation flirtation, James McAvoy donning some hair extensions, the movie completely wasting Darwin and his versatile ability, and the development that goes into Charles and Erik's character arcs and their clashing outlooks. Directed by Matthew Vaughn, X-Men: First Class stars James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Kevin Bacon, Rose Byrne, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Lucas Till, January Jones, Jason Flemyng, Caleb Landry Jones, Zoë Kravitz, Edi Gathegi, Álex González, Oliver Platt, Matt Craven, Laurence Belcher, Bill Milner, Morgan Lily, Corey Johnson, Glenn Morshower, James Remar, Annabelle Wallis, and Michael Ironside. Australian actor Essie Davis is best known for “The Babadook,” “Game of Thrones,” and “Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries.” This year, she stunned me with two incredible performances in two powerful films. In “Nitram,” directed by her husband Justin Kurzel, she plays the important and heartbreaking supporting role of Helen, opposite Caleb Landry Jones. In “The Justice of Bunny King” she broke my heart again, this time playing the house-less titular character who is desperately trying to get her kids out of foster care. It was made pre-pandemic and had a staggered release last year overseas. Look for it in select US cities and on VOD in late September. On this episode, she gives us a glimpse of what's at the core of her process. She talks about why it takes her an abnormally long time to read a script, the helpful ways Kurzel assists actors in prep, the change that occurred when she stopped “trying” and started “being,” plus much more.
