In this episode of the Effective Giving Podcast, we have an important discussion with Dr. David Croteau, Dean of Columbia Bible Seminary and School of Counseling at Columbia International University. Dr. Croteau, an expert on Christian giving and author of several books, shares insights from his extensive research on tithing. He recounts his personal journey from college, being influenced by a pastor who emphasized tithing for personal gain, to his transformative experience with John MacArthur's sermon that led him to critically re-evaluate the biblical basis of tithing. Dr. Croteau clarifies Old and New Testament teachings on tithing, debunking common misconceptions and presenting a more grace-driven, love-driven, and relationship-driven approach to Christian giving. He also discusses the practical application of these principles for modern Christians, emphasizing sacrificial and generous giving without relying on a fixed percentage. The episode also touches on the potential shift in scholarly and pastoral perspectives on the subject and advice on approaching topics of tithing thoughtfully within church communities.
Rae Croteau JR joined Clay Vanderham & Joshua Marshall to discuss the Chuckwagon season to date, horses, hockey talk, mental health & giving back to this amazing sport.

It's time to discover, learn, and play Jazz Piano with special guest Paul Croteau.Paul grew up in Bloomfield, CT. His father was a passionate jazz fan with a modest but finely refined record collection, immersing him in the sounds of Dexter Gordon, Oscar Peterson, Dave Brubeck, Phil Woods, Jack McDuff, and many other jazz greats. He took up the saxophone at the age of 10, then taught himself piano during high school. He studied classical saxophone with Philip Delibero, earned All-State and All-New England recognition, along with several jazz soloist awards during competitions at Berklee in Boston. He then attended the renowned music school at North Texas where he studied with Jim Riggs. Paul played lead alto in the 1988 Disneyland All-American College Band in Anaheim, and won first place in the 1989 North American Saxophone Alliance Jazz Competition in Washington DC. Upon graduation Paul traveled the world as a freelance musician for many years playing in a variety of genres from classic jazz and shows to R&B and smooth jazz. Later in life after building a family with his North Texas college sweetheart, Paul shifted his focus to composing music for television and film, forming Yo Paulie Music (YPM) in 2015 out of his home studio in San Antonio, TX. Today, Paul creates not only classic jazz and solo piano works, but genres he never imagined writing such electronic/orchestral tension music, string quartets, hip hop and trap, and pop music of all kinds. Today Paul's music has been heard on more than 75 unique television series, across 40+ networks in 30+ countries, as well as in feature films. You can find Paul's music on Spotify, iTunes and other streaming services, and he has a humble YouTube channel dedicated to teaching people about writing for tv/film. paul@yopauliemusic.comwww.yopauliemusic.comIG: @YoPaulieMusic Spotify: https://bit.ly/ypm_spotifyIMDB: https://www.imdb.com/name/nm14263646/YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@yopauliemusicSupport the show
Northern Superior Resources CEO Simon Marcotte joined Steve Darling from Proactive to shared significant news regarding the company's Croteau Property in Quebec. Northern Superior Resources has reported the latest drill results from its diamond drill program on the Croteau Property. The program has identified new zones with near-surface mineralization in two areas located within one kilometre of the main zone. The main zone already boasts an inferred resource of 640,000 ounces of gold at 1.79 g/t Au. Marcotte highlighted the discovery in the area associated with the Croteau North Shear Zone, where hole CRO22-120 intersected 1.06 g/t Gold over 26 meters, including 4.98 g/t Au over 3.0 meters. This discovery is situated north and parallel to the Croteau-Bouchard Shear Zone. Mineralization in this western area extends along a strike length of approximately 450 meters and is open along strike in both directions and at depth. The results suggest the presence of a large gold-bearing hydrothermal system, spanning at least 1,400 meters in length and 300 meters in width. Much of the North Basalt Domain remains to be drill-tested, and the company is currently evaluating the next phase of exploration for this area. In summary, Northern Superior Resources' latest drill results at the Croteau Property indicate the potential for significant gold mineralization. The discovery of new zones and the expansion of known mineralized areas point to the project's considerable exploration upside, setting the stage for further exploration and resource expansion efforts. #proactiveinvestors #northernsuperiorresourcesince #tsxv #sup #otcqx #nsupf #mining #gold #MiningNews #NorthernSuperiorResources #CroteauProperty #GoldCamp #HighGradeGold #Exploration #GoldStocks #PreciousMetals #ResourceInvesting #GoldMinerals #InvestmentOpportunity #GoldSector #QuebecGold #CEOInterview #ExplorationUpdate #GoldMining #MarketAnalysis #JuniorMining #ResourceStocks #InvestmentPotential #GoldPrices #GoldInvestment #OntarioAssets #MiningExploration #StockMarketNews#invest #investing #investment #investor #stockmarket #stocks #stock #stockmarketnews

I also co-host The Redeemed Podcast. One of my greatest passions in life is to study and understand God through His Scriptures. As I grow in my understanding, I am thrilled to help further the faith of God's elect and their knowledge of the truth that leads to godliness.”Brian Croteau speaks about how the lives and experiences of members of his congregation and broader community have shaped him as a preacher. From the initial impact of a Christian “biker gang” to the ongoing overlapping lives between him and the church members, Brian knows that he is not independent of their influences, and also his preaching is not into a vacuum, but it is to help build the faith, and strengthen the discipleship of the real life people in front of him. It is important to “sticking to the script” and also listening attentively to the doubts, fears and questions of those to whom he is ministering to. They also speak about the challenges and opportunities of leading musical worship, managing bi-vocational ministry and the seven letters to the seven churches. “Two things I ask of you, LORD; do not refuse me before I die: Keep falsehood and lies far from me; give me neither poverty nor riches, but give me only my daily bread. Otherwise, I may have too much and disown you and say, ‘Who is the LORD?' Or I may become poor and steal, and so dishonor the name of my God.Proverbs 30:7-9 Listen to the Redeemed Podcast here: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-redeemed-podcast/id1636947439 https://open.spotify.com/show/7w9Q7AgowCNWdFRKFBwnfk?si=96b69aaa3fc04f97 Recommended Episode Bryan Chapell : https://www.expositorscollective.com/podcast/2022/9/13/pulpit-flourish-vs-pastoral-care-with-bryan-chappell Chuck Smith : https://www.expositorscollective.com/podcast/2021/3/14/bonus-episode-spirit-anointed-sermon-preparation-chuck-smith Dan Ewing : https://www.expositorscollective.com/podcast/2021/5/14/respect-the-house-dan-ewingFor information about our upcoming training events in Texas and Indiana visit ExpositorsCollective.com The Expositors Collective podcast is part of the CGNMedia, Working together to proclaim the Gospel, make disciples, and plant churches. Joëlle Croteau-Willard is a Mother, Wife, Regional Director with PSI Seminars, and a lost mom — a woman who has suffered the loss of her child. "I had a late-term pregnancy loss at 23 weeks. I had dedicated my life to transformative personal development, then my son died. And that person who was Joelle prior to May 16th, 2022, that person died with him. Suddenly, I don't want the things I wanted. I don't have the capacity to do the things I used to do, nor the desire for all of the things I had envisioned for my life. This is the reason why I feel so propelled into grief education, wanting to dig into what in the heck is this grief thing and why my life has felt so different.”

There's a lot that companies need to consider when deciding to pursue independent financial backing. The decisions companies make when striking deals almost always come back to control — a factor that has a significant impact on the future of the company. Depending on how much control the backer negotiates, different scenarios could lead to backers gaining significant veto rights, board control, or a total loss of management fees. The process is complex and involves many moving pieces. That's why we brought Alexander Horn and Anne Croteau — seasoned independent sponsor deal negotiators — on today's episode of the podcast. “A financial investor is going to want to have some control over any big corporate decision above a certain monetary threshold. [But] they don't want to get into the day-to-day and they don't want to get into the nitty-gritty … that's not their focus. It takes them away from their main focus, which is finding additional investment,” says Anne. On this week's episode of Deal-by-Deal, Anne and Alex walk us through what considerations should be made when discussing independent sponsor deals and what's at stake. Connect: https://www.linkedin.com/in/anne-croteau-30665416/ (LinkedIn) Acquired KnowledgeTop takeaways from this episode ★ Negotiations are all about control. Different types of partners will have different outcomes and control issues: a family office might offer pure equity while a lender like a small business investment company will instead require significant equity backing. The type of partner will determine the level of control it has over your company: for example, large-scale and influential financial backers are likely to require significant control of your board as well as asking for veto rights and involvement in major financial decisions. ★ Corporate sponsors generally don't want to be involved in management. While corporate sponsors might have a significant amount of control, they don't want to be involved in the daily details. An independent sponsor's main job is to find good investments. ★ Consider the interests of every financial backer. Dealing with equity backers and debt financial backers could result in conflicts of interest if the interests of all parties are not taken into consideration when these deals are initially made. In some cases, management fees could be lost or a debt could go into default. Episode Insights[00:29] Meet our guests: Anne and Alex, longtime partners at McGuireWoods, join us on the podcast to discuss a topic that comes up in every deal: determining fair distribution of control between independent sponsors and capital providers. The issue was a recent point of discussion at the https://www.independentsponsorconference.com/ (2022 McGuireWoods Independent Sponsor Conference).
