Hello everyone and welcome to this week's Motos and Friends—a weekly podcast from Ultimate Motorcycling and brought to you by the all new Suzuki Hayabusa. Widely regarded as the Ultimate Sportbike, the third-generation Hayabusa by Suzuki melds two generations of refinement, resulting in the quickest, most technologically advanced and aerodynamic Hayabusa yet. Head into your local Suzuki dealer now, or visit suzukicycles.com to learn more. My name is Arthur Coldwells. This week Associate Editor Kelly Callan talks to Teejay and myself about the brilliant BMW G 310 R. Kelly was commuting on it recently, but found she so enjoyed riding the BMW that she ended up taking it on some fun rides at the weekend too. In the second segment I chat with Bryan Carroll, the idea and producer of the hit documentary Why We Ride from a few years back. Bryan is a successful TV and film producer, and not surprisingly, he has evolved his much acclaimed Why We Ride project into a much bigger idea—visit it at Motovational.org and you'll see The annual Ride to the Quail, plus a whole lot more. Motovational recently raised over $20,000 for the Ride for Kids pediatric brain tumor foundation, and as you might assume, Bryan hasn't stopped there. I hope you enjoy this episode!

My guest this week is Doc Coyle. Some of you may know Doc from his time in God Forbid, or from his widely popular podcast, The Ex Man Podcast, or maybe from his new band, Bad Wolves, who in a short amount of time have had the top selling song on iTunes and become one of the hottest new bands on the rock/metal scene. However, Doc and I don't really talk much about music but focus on another passion of Doc's, the NBA. We chat about how players now always have to be on in the ever present 24 hour news cycle, and how it may effect their lives versus pre social media age for the players who came before. Which leads us down some interesting side tangents about social media and how it may or may not impact our world in the generations to come. We get into the broken collegiate system, where Doc gives his take on how this issue could be resolved. Not your typical conversation you'll find with Doc, but that's what made it fun in my opinion. We ride motorcycles for a multitude of reasons. The movie "Why We Ride" illustrated many of them. I have mine and you have yours. Regardless of why we ride there are times when things go badly. As motorcyclist we go down. What we do in the minutes, hours, days and weeks that follow a motorcycle accident makes a difference. Do you know what those things are? Chuck Koro with Russ Brown Motorcycle Attorneys joins us in this episode to educate and inform us on the answers to those questions and more. We will delve deeply into the topic of motorcycle accident and injury. Together we will learn valuable information about this all important topic to us all.  The old adage is that there are two types of motorcycle riders, those that have gone down and those that will. We may add one more and that is those that will again. Accidents of many types are a fact of life in motorcycling. It is a subject we may prefer to avoid but that may be a costly mistake! In their first appearance anywhere in media, Bryan Carroll and James Walker join us to announce their newest motorcycling film project and you can join in! Why We Ride Flims produced the critically acclaimed "Why We Ride". Now their lates project is launching and it centers around the legendary 75th Sturgis Rally! The impetus for the new movie stems partly from this year's Sturgis Motorcycle Rally being the 75th Anniversary of that motorcycling institution. In recent years, the Sturgis rally has drawn half a million participants, but attendance estimates for this year's anniversary rally exceed one million riders. There may never be a better time to capture the passion, dedication and camaraderie of the motorcycling community, and there certainly is no better place than the iconic Sturgis gathering. When making Why We Ride, Sturgis was the first filming location, and it had an immediate emotional effect on the filmmakers. "There is a spirit there that enters you and grabs your heart," says Bryan H. Carroll, producer/director. "The beauty of the Black Hills is God given. You put your hand on a boulder and you feel this energy; you can feel it in the air. It's easy to understand why American Indians hold this place sacred." "Sturgis is not just a place--it's who we are," continues Carroll. "When you say, 'I am an American,' it's not about your address or even where you were born. It's in your DNA, your spirit. It's why people from all over the world have been coming to this country for the past 250 years. It was always in them--they just needed a place to gather and be around like-minded people. This is the same story as Sturgis. There are many of us out there who are still venturing, still seeking out that next journey." Thanks for joining us for this special "Talking Motorcycles" powered by SOZO!
