Senior executives and heads of digital banks across Asia Pacific discussed how innovation across service offerings and embracing a culture of transformation is key to growth and profitability, amid heightened competition. With more challengers entering markets, digital banks can differentiate themselves with the technologies brought in and how efficient data is used to enhance stickiness of products. Kevin Lam, head of TMRW and Group Digital Banking of UOB; Bryan Carroll, CEO of TNEX; Gunneet Singh Bally, senior vice president and group head of retail channels of Security Bank Corporation; Voranuch Dejakaisaya, executive chairman of Kasikorn Business Technology Group (KBTG); and Nick Wilde, managing director in Asia Pacific at Thought Machine discussed the profitability of a digital-only business and how cloud-native technology stack help banks and financial institutions (FIs) build the operating models of unique experiences. In this episode Jeffrey is interviewed by Bryan Carroll from the Summit for Wellness Podcast: I'm sure you have heard of GMO crops, which have been around for a couple of decades. But now we are living in an interesting time where people are testing new waters and starting to mess with microbes. As we've seen over the last couple years, once a microscopic-sized organism is released, there is no way to stop it from spreading around the world. So if we are manipulating bacteria and other microbes, if there are harmful unintended consequences then it could be catastrophic to the planet. In this episode with Jeffrey Smith, we discuss what could happen if the wrong microbes get out of the lab. What to expect from this episode: What are GMOs and are we only genetically modifying plants or are we breaking out into other natural realms How GMOs impact the human body (at least up to this point) What are some potential issues with genetically modifying bacteria and other microbes Ways we can put regulations in place to reduce the chances of massive unintended consequences impacting the planet The Institute for Responsible Technology is working to protect you & the World from GMOs (and while we're at it, Roundup®...) Experts wager on the future of payment cards with Bryan Carroll of TNEX, Sharon Tan of DBS, Ben Gilbey of Mastercard, Priyanka Madan of GrabPay, and Michael Robertson of Entrust pitting their views and wits during an insightful discussion. It is also evolving to be sustainable as well, available now in environmentally friendly materials such as wood and metals. In their first appearance anywhere in media, Bryan Carroll and James Walker join us to announce their newest motorcycling film project and you can join in! Why We Ride Flims produced the critically acclaimed "Why We Ride". Now their lates project is launching and it centers around the legendary 75th Sturgis Rally! The impetus for the new movie stems partly from this year's Sturgis Motorcycle Rally being the 75th Anniversary of that motorcycling institution. In recent years, the Sturgis rally has drawn half a million participants, but attendance estimates for this year's anniversary rally exceed one million riders. There may never be a better time to capture the passion, dedication and camaraderie of the motorcycling community, and there certainly is no better place than the iconic Sturgis gathering. When making Why We Ride, Sturgis was the first filming location, and it had an immediate emotional effect on the filmmakers. "There is a spirit there that enters you and grabs your heart," says Bryan H. Carroll, producer/director. "The beauty of the Black Hills is God given. You put your hand on a boulder and you feel this energy; you can feel it in the air. It's easy to understand why American Indians hold this place sacred." "Sturgis is not just a place--it's who we are," continues Carroll. "When you say, 'I am an American,' it's not about your address or even where you were born. It's in your DNA, your spirit. It's why people from all over the world have been coming to this country for the past 250 years. It was always in them--they just needed a place to gather and be around like-minded people. This is the same story as Sturgis. There are many of us out there who are still venturing, still seeking out that next journey." Thanks for joining us for this special "Talking Motorcycles" powered by SOZO!
