Ray heard the call to ministry, he ran fast toward the call, (the assignment) with half the instructions to the Davey Lopes Recreation Center, in Providence. There he met the director Mr. George Lindsey, the man in a dream that God said would say yes to every request he had to bringing the Gospel to the City of Providence. Brother Ray is actively involved in the mission that God assigned him to, to bring harmonious unity to the Community. Philippians 4:9 is the word he stood on and it became life to him. As he still stands on this very Word. Bro. Ray is married to Chuckie Marie, has 5 adult children(2 from marriage and 3 from previous relationships) and 16 grandchildren. Bro. Ray has served in ministry since June of 2001. In 2003 he began to experience the birth pains of “Young Leaders Fellowship”, (YLF) which began to trinkle over into the Providence Street worker Program where Bro. Ray served as their first Program Director in 2005. In February 2006 he resigned and launched the YLF program as Founder/CEO. Bro. Ray is known throughout Providence as an advocate in the streets, courts, RITS, ACI, PPSD and in community churches. He is known to many as a positive male role model with abilities to mentor both male and female, children and adults. The mission of YLF is the Restoration of families through positive interaction with our youth. Assisting them with the building of positive support teams and coaching them on how to utilize them. Mag je obscene dingen zoals bestialiteit en moord afbeelden? Kunnen we het werk van mensen zoals R. Kelly, Michael Jackson en Woody Allen zonder bijsmaak waarderen - of maakt dat ons 'slechte' mensen? Kunst en moraal hebben iets met elkaar te maken. Niet voor niets noemen we lelijke kunst vaak slecht en verwachten we juist van kunst dat ze conventies kan bevragen of doorbreken. De Chinese president Xi Jinping waarschuwt voor immorele kunst omdat zij ''de vieze lucht van het geld'' zou hebben, maar claimt ook dat goede kunst vaderlandsliefde moet uitstralen en de ''juiste'' visie op de Chinese geschiedenis en cultuur moet verspreiden. In de geschiedenis van de filosofie is deze vraag meer dan eens naar voren gekomen. Zo noemt Plato dichters “na-apers” en poëzie “een aantasting van het gezonde verstand”. Zij is slecht voor de gewone mens, omdat de poëet de wereld anders voordoet dan hij is. Aan de andere kant denkt Aristoteles dat we kunst nodig hebben om onze emoties in kwijt te kunnen en normaal te functioneren. In de Verlichting beargumenteert Kant in navolging van Hume dat de waardering van kunst losstaat van de moraal, omdat zij vooral betrekking heeft op onze subjectieve ervaring en niet universeel gedacht kan worden. Tegenwoordig zijn we eerder naar de betekenis van kunst gaan kijken dan dat we op zoek zijn naar de essentie van het schone. Dus stellen we onszelf de vraag: Wat is slechte kunst? Kan het bestaan van een bepaald kunstwerk in zichzelf immoreel zijn? Kan kunst immoreel zijn vanwege haar impact op onze ervaring, gedachten of gedrag? Maakt een immorele kunstenaar zijn kunst ook slecht? En heeft kunst haar eigen domein van morele grenzen? Zij stelt dat wij de ‘kwaliteit’ van kunst niet los kunnen zien van een immorele maker. Combrink pleit dan ook vanuit feministische/antiracistische hoek om te stoppen met het consumeren van werken van ‘slechte mensen’. Vorig jaar publiceerde zij het essay ‘Onze Schaamteloze Canon’ op de website Hard//hoofd. Clint Verdonschot volgt een Phd aan de Unversity of Essex en verdiept zich in de relatie tussen onze identiteit – collectief en individueel – en de waarde die we hechten aan kunst en cultuur. Verdonschot zal tijdens deze avond ingaan op het onderscheid tussen ethiek en esthetica en het domein van kunst. Bo Tarenskeen is toneelspeler, schrijver, regisseur en medeoprichter van Theater Na de Dam. Hij studeerde taalfilosofie en politieke wetenschappen in Amsterdam, Potsdam en Berlijn en volgde de Regieopleiding aan het RITS in Brussel. Hij maakte onder meer de voorstellingen EICHMANN, KISSINGER en SPEER. Tijdens deze avond zal hij reflecteren op de morele verantwoordelijkheid van een maker en enkele fragmenten voorlezen uit zijn stukken.

The joint research project of RITCS - School of Arts, Brussels and SADA - Stockholm, focusses on these changes and how practitioners dealt with them. The practice based approach, research by doing, is derived from the day to day research that is done in every theatre company when developing new techniques or effects. The goal is to develop useful insights for the contemporary practice. In this lecture we give an overview of the most important changes in lighting technology and the way they were implemented in theatre practice. The focus on the change processes and the issues and failures that came with them will throw a different light on contemporary and future challenges in changing technology. It will show the importance of understanding our heritage and history for the new innovative practice. Fundamentally, the history of lighting is about taking control over light as a physical phenomenon. It is the path from “turning on the light” towards “designing light”. A wondrously cinematic adaptation of a novel by Belgian author Dimitri Verhulst, Angel tells the story of people from different worlds whose paths cross for one brief but unforgettable encounter. Fae is a Senegalese sex worker and Thierry (Vincent Rottiers) is a world-renowned Belgian racing cyclist who has known both acclaim and disgrace. They meet when Thierry and his brother travel to Dakar for a holiday. Far from eager to explore the local sex trade — he normally needs to be in love to make love — Thierry finds there’s something about Fae he can’t deny.Together they experience a communion that restores in both a sense of dignity and the promise of redemption. Then things take a terrifying turn and Fae is arrested, despite having done nothing wrong. With its seductive colour palate of saturated reds, greens, and blues, Angel envelops us in a voluptuous embrace. Mortier’s story telling is circular, prowling through past and present, dreams and fantasies. Rottiers’s subtly graded performance is both touching and troubling, while N’Diaye, who viewers might recognize from Quebec director Robert Favreau’s Un dimanche à Kigali, is simultaneously earthy and angelic. This is a stunningly provocative exploration of the limits of bodies and the limitlessness of love. Biography Koen Mortier was born in Beernem, Belgium. He studied at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel and RITS at Erasmus Hogeschool in Brussels. His directorial credits include ‘Ex Drummer’ and ’22nd of May,’ ‘Angel’ is his latest film.At the age of thirty, he started making short films, “A Hard Days Work”, which won several international prizes. In 1999, he established Czar Production Company in Brussels with fellow director Joe Vanhoutteghem. Koen has directed many stunning commercials and was chosen the best commercial director in several countries and has won several awards - Belgium for Orange and TNT, Holland for RVs, Italy for Leroy Merlin and Germany for Hornbach.Meanwhile, Koen started to direct feature films, ‘Ex Drummer’ (2007) premiered at the Rotterdam and the Toronto International Film Festivals. The film won awards at Fantasia Film Festival, Raindance, and the Warsaw International Film Festival. His next film ’22nd of May’ premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival and won awards at the Leeds, Mexico and Baghdad International Film Festivals.
