Yesterday, I delivered my first sermon in an actual house of worship. It was an exciting and bizarre moment for me, and turned out to be quite beautiful. Exciting because I see myself as a priest, and giving a sermon is a very priestly honor. Bizarre because I never thought I'd ever write a sentence like that last one! I've been marrying people for the last eighteen years. My first chaplaincy assignment was fifteen years ago. I've done plenty of conflict and relationship coaching over the past twenty years. I've even given away around 10,000 loaves of bread over the past decade. And yet, it's only recently that I've come to see myself as a priest. (growing up, it was always wizard!) One of my projects is to rescue the community-oriented elements of religion from the trash heap where they ended up, with the rest of the religious junk we discarded. To pick up the “baby” of caring and food and togetherness from the “bathwater” of dogma, rigidity, and us vs. them. My other project is to preach the gospel of ahimsa (unconditional love) at every scale, and explain both the pragmatic and spiritual benefits of doing so. Today's sermon represents a major milestone in my own understanding of that journey, and therefore, my ability to conspire with my fellow humans to make it happen. Earlier this week I spoke with renowned mediator Ken Cloke. Ken is a living breathing apostle of the philosophy of practical nonviolence that Gandhi and MLK took to such a high level. Because we were on a call with a group of professional mediators, I asked Ken what the recent US election might mean for mediators in the US. I'm sharing his answer more publicly because I see the philosophy behind mediation as being appropriate to anyone involved in human relationships. The mediation mindset is what happens when you look at human relationship as a spiritual path. I encourage you to listen to Ken with the following question in mind: What is the essence of non-violence? He says the word "nonviolence" explicitly only once, near the end of the episode, but everything he is saying about doubling down on our values and rising above hatred is, in my mind, the core of Gandhian teachings. Other important tidbits are Ken's definition of an enemy, which is a really kick in the stomach, and his architecture of hatred -- the three essential elements to creating political hatred.
Happy USA Election Day 2024, denizens of the world. May it be, in fact, happy and harmless. I have an election-day message for you. We Too Must Grow. It's a combination of my thoughts on the opportunities the election presents us with "It's Worse Than You Think" and my explication of a song that I think is INCREDIBLY RELEVANT to this moment. The song is called "We Too Must Grow". It was written and recorded by my friend Joe Bridge. Here's a link if you want to listen to a version without my comments: We Too Must Grow - Joe Bridge
This episode is based on a speech/sermon I wrote in October 2024 and delivered at a March for Democracy in a small town. I used the opportunity to share what conflict mediation has taught me about winning. Part I: Definitions of winning and losing Part II: What's really standing in our way Part III: The pearl of wisdom and what we can do about it There's also some bonus material -- concrete guidelines based on 2200 years of human experience (the Bhagavad Gita) Enjoy! The full text of the speech can be found at: https://ankurdelight.com/2024/10/09/how-to-win-a-democracy/
This episode is about Muslim-Jewish relations. It's about whats been going on in Israel and Palestine for the last year. It's about what's possible in the next year. It's about what happens when we expand the circle of concern. And it's about what is happening, all over the world, in small communities, unreported by most of the news, when people open their hearts, right now. I interviewed Aziza Hassan and Andrea Hodos from New Ground: A Muslim-Jewish partnership for change. I get their stories, their experiences, and their perspective on how to build a relationship that can handle the test of conflict. This the opposite of what you will hear on the news. It's about going deeper and staying closer, not demonizing and vilifying. Join us.
Two years ago I overheard a conversation at a local farmers' market about Clam Gardens. Being a nosy podcast host, I eavesdropped, eventually inserted myself, and got some contact information. Today I caught up with Ala̱g̱a̱mił Nicole Norris, of Halalt First Nation on what's now known as Vancouver Island in the Canadian province of British Columbia. Nicole is a Shellfish Aquaculture Specialist, Intergovernmental Communicator, Cultural Support Worker; knowledge holder, and language preserver for the Hul'qumi'num. She's also incredibly fun to talk to and not afraid to get deep and trippy from the beginning, as you will soon hear. I had several shifts in understanding during our interview, especially around how we as humans relate to the other species around us, as well as how we relate to our ancestors and our descendants. Let's jump in.
The concept I want to present today is the Six Dimensions of Conflict, which comes up in Chapters 2 and 3 of The Crossroads of Conflict by Ken Cloke. Ken has a model where he breaks down conflict and how we approach it into six areas, and then looks at that sextet from 4 different angles: - Orders of Resolution - Math/Geometry - Location in the body - Mediation style
In this episode I present what I learned from William Ury's The Third Side. The basic idea is that our communities and societies are the most important element in developing an effective conflict management system, and that the essence of being effect is to exert peer pressure on resolving the conflict instead of taking the "side" of any of the parties. Hence, the 3rd side... (For the video version, go here: https://www.youtube.com/@tenthousandheroes)
For the last few months I've been reflecting on How to Prevent a Civil War. Here's why I think we need to act: - It is in the avowed interests of multiple powerful actors -- both inside and outside of the US -- to foment widespread discord, confusion, and animosity. - The logical conclusion of widespread discord, confusion, and animosity is civil war. - The people working on this have lots of resources and effective technology (ie AI chatbots) at their disposal. Basically, in absence of our concerted actions, things are going to get worse. The most effective tool I have come to so far is conversation. Honest, deep, vulnerable, heart-opening conversation. This podcast is V1 of a model I'm playing with that I'd like to try out. (For the video version, go here: https://www.youtube.com/@tenthousandheroes)
As part of my journey towards understanding what brings us together and what keeps us apart, today I want to share three examples of social dialogue I learned about in the past couple of weeks. I will resist the temptation to draw conclusions prematurely, but just let us all ruminate together with these three examples. The first is from Nelson Mandela's autobiography -- Long Walk to Freedom (PDF) -- which I'm currently reading. The second is a description of traditional dispute resolution in pre-partition Punjab from a recent interview I did with Somia Sadiq. (From: http://10kh.show/00117-every-conflict-hides-a-story-with-somia-sadiq 28:30 - 31:30) And the third is from a listener who called me yesterday and shared his experiences with a facilitator named Bob Chadwick. I'll share a little bit of what I learned in the call and then read a passage from Chadwick that I found online. (From: Bob Chadwick, https://managingwholes.com/chadwick.htm/) So, I don't know how you see yourself in this moment, but I see you as someone, like me, who is interested in and capable of preventing a civil war. Someone whose actions or inaction will have a lot of consequences where you live, not just this year or this election cycle, but for the next generation and the next phase in our social development.
As Lao Tzu used to say: "Do the hard thing while it is still easy." According to my guest, Ward Hayes Wilson, it's a pretty good time to work on nuclear disarmament. This is precisely the opposite of all my reflections on the issues, which usually end in hopeless shrugging and attempts to resign myself towards guaranteed nuclear annihilation. (Much harder when you have kids!) Ward has a very different take, which is rooted in 30 years of obsessive study of the issue and the fundamental premise -- which he has confirmed will military leaders around the world -- that nuclear weapons are simply not useful for warfare. Bonus: He's also smart, hilarious, and does great accents. (For the video version, go here: https://www.youtube.com/@tenthousandheroes)
Somia Sadiq is a peacebuilder and entrepreneur focused on Conflict Transformation. Our conversation was so wide-ranging I thought it would be worth a brief rundown of what we covered: - Resilience and Fasting - Definitions: Settler and Newcomer - Identity politics - Ancestral guilt and shame - How to approach history (and history of oppression) without guilt - The role of public apologies - The limits of apologies - The necessary components of an apology - intentionality - acceptance of harm - remorse - how it impacted you - Description of traditional mediation in Punjab (from her grandparents' house) - Highlights from William Ury's The Third Side: Community as the Conflict Management System - What makes something feel fair? - Is taking sides ethical? - How do global conflicts affect our individual experience? - What do people mean by "trauma-informed"? - The Mice and the Cherry Blossoms Experiment - Trauma vs Agency and Free Will While it was a stellar interview, I have to say my favorite moment was her story at the end. Listen for it.
Casper ter Kuile is like a better version of myself. He's on a mission to rescue spiritual truths from religious dogma to fill the voids in modern life. We talk about what atheism and spirituality mean to us, gain inspiration from a John O'Donahue essay on "The Priestliness of the Human Heart," discuss the current struggles in El Salvador (and how to handle it), and finally, I broach the topic of: How To Prevent A Civil War. If you're concerned about the divisiveness in our culture and want to do something about it, I suggest you tune in ;)
Wolf Sherman has dealt with excruciating pain 24/7 since being hit by a car a couple of years ago. The relationships he has developed between pain, drugs, and gratitude struck me as something every single one of us can learn from. We also get into modern masculinity and communication with whales. Yeah, You heard me right.
In this episode, I talk with one of my greatest mentors, John Giuliano, about how the Régimen de excepción is affecting his small community. Specifically, we discuss the situation of the co-director of the Tamarindo Foundation, Santos, who was arrested 54 days ago (as of March 6, 2024). The second half of the show (@ 16:02) covers John's response to the arrests, the difference between revenge and justice, and the unhealed wounds from the Salvadoran civil war.
Here's a gratitude-forward recipe for Sourdough Bread. I go through the 4 main ingredients that go into the bread, and then go into the ingredients that go into those, and then the ingredients that go into those… It's a gratitude practice. If what I'm trying to do with this podcast is: Go deep immediately without any fluff, and Help us all understand how purpose shows itself empirically, even when things look horribly gnarly, Then I give this conversation ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐. It's deep. It deals with horrible things (sexual trauma). It's hopeful. And Abby Carl is an absolute hero for turning all her experiences into something everybody who interacts with her can benefit from. Check it out. Abby's website: www.growstrong.one Abby's Instagram: @growstrong_one Abby on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/grow.strong.5 Note: All my cameras flipped out during the recording of this in-person interview, so the last few minutes have no video. I didn't feel like deep-faking the rest, so I threw an audiogram in there so you'd have something pretty to look at.
Jason Taylor runs deep. He's an ecologist and Five Elements acupuncturist with a lot to share about living a healthy and balanced life. But what I liked best is how deeply he engaged with the questions. That's part of what I love about this show – it's not just Information handed down from On High, but a mutual exploration, where we're all learning about our paths, through the vessel of the interview. Tune in to hear the throughline in Jason's journey from environmental education to bat research to acupuncture, and how the Seasons of Life are present not only in the year, but also in each day and your own life and moods.
Crystal Beasley is a trip. She's a high priestess of the heart and listening to her journey is the auditory equivalent of getting tickled (for me) at least. At one point she tells me she is here to protect the place of women. Then she mentions a finishing school she runs, to turn Men into Gentlemen. And then she reveals the How: Teaching them to Ask for what they Need. It seems simple, but every day I run into it. Sometimes with myself, sometimes with a colleague, sometimes with a daughter. How much time could we save, Looping narratives could we cut short, and Sleep could we gain? Just by knowing what we Need, and asking for it? Resources Cris mentioned: Link to her film on Charles and Diana (6m): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xOw77x7JbGg Her website with a lot of different projects and resources: http://www.crisbeasley.com/ Her course “Holy Hell Yes - Navigate Massive Change without Losing Your Shiz”: crisbeasley.com/maven She actually made a discount code just for you: “Use code 10KH for 50% off until Jan 31st” And, for more about the mystery school, which she can't post online, please email crystal@crystalbeasley.com

Melvin Myles wields music as a weapon of love. He grew up in a gospel tradition in Mississippi, discovered Jazz in college, and stumbled his way (we laugh about it) into being a professional vocal artist. But for me the best part is what Melvin is so effortlessly able to communicate about the heart. Deep Truths I struggle to articulate through writing books and essays and poems… they just roll out of him unbidden. Listen to the interview! The whole thing! There's two critical steps towards making the impact you want to make in the world: 1) Knowing what you want to do 2) Doing it Most people never figure out Step 1. But if you've worked hard enough to have a clear idea of what you want to do, you're still not out of the woods yet. For any plan of consequence there are lots and lots and lots and lots of things that can wrong. Most people ignore those possibilities and just "work hard" as the means to success. If you've gone down that road and know where it goes, and you're doing ignoring and avoiding all the possible pitfalls, you're ready for Night Vision!
If I were to write a book about purpose today (I have another ~3 hours before I need to pick up Jasmine), what would it be about? Which is maybe the same question as: What are the most important questions for me to address on this show? In the audio/video version of the episode (links below!) I'll explain these things a bit more, but here's the rough outline version: Part I: Introducing Purpose Preface: A cocktail party in 2045 My goal for this book is to catalyze a fundamental change in how we relate to ourselves and each other. Chapter 1: What is Purpose? We begin by surveying various definitions of purpose and constructing our own, shared, understanding of purpose. Chapter 2: Purpose is Dead. Long Live Purpose? We look at how our definition of Purpose is related to definitions in our past, and what it means to “rescue” Purpose from religion. Part II: Why Purpose Matters Chapter 3: Why My Purpose Matters To Me: Happiness, Sexual Potency, and Infinite Wealth *** Some pragmatic motivators to help us understand how having a sense of Purpose could change your life. Chapter 4: Why My Purpose Matters To Us: World Peace and Human Potential Some ideological motivations for purpose. How human evolution is related to individual purpose. Part III: Finding Your Purpose Chapter 5: What Purpose Feels Like How do you know you are actually living your purpose and not just kidding yourself in order to be cool? Chapter 6: How To Find Your Purpose An incredibly simple and practical method that requires honest observation and introspection. Chapter 7: Purpose and Time How your Purpose may change over time and what that implies. Chapter 8: How To Use Purpose How you can use Knowing Your Purpose to change your state of mind, make better decisions, and build community, Chapter 9: Purpose and Heroism How living your Purpose is related to Heroism, and what is really going on (internally) when we investigate our purpose. Part IV: Purpose Traps Chapter 10: The Generality Trap My purpose is to be myself / My purpose is to help people Chapter 11: The Specificity Trap My purpose is to be an extra-innings pitcher for the Oakland A's Chapter 12: The Enlightenment Trap My purpose is to Be Here Now Chapter 13: The Midas Trap My purpose is to make money Part V: After Purpose Chapter 14: Momentum Lab: How to do Anything An overview of Compound Momentum and using Purpose iteratively Chapter 15: Downscaling Purpose into Vision How to draft a supernaturally-sharp Vision rooted in your Purpose Chapter 16: Uncommon Consistency Once you have a detailed plan connected to your Purpose, the main challenge is doing it. ♥️If you liked this episode, let us know with a review. There's two things I want to do today: Explain how you find your purpose (according to me, today) Share the “pre-interview” video I made for my upcoming guests. It's a simple two-step method that involves asking a specific question and then running experiments based on the answer. Everyday I run into people – in person, at parties, through email, and through this podcast, who are, for lack of a better word, lost. Maybe they're “stuck”. Or “questioning”. Or “on a journey”. Or “at a transition point”. Or “needing something different”. A lot of the time it has to do with this essential part of our human experience that is mostly disregarded in modern society. Purpose. A couple of months ago, at an in-person event I helped organize to connect people with their Visions, I met George Moore. Towards the end of the retreat, when offered the choice between a plant-based bug spray and the DEET version, he said: “Oh, give me the chemicals. They've been keeping me alive for over 30 years anyways” That moment planted a seed of curiosity in me, and this interview is the result. George shares a small fraction of near-death experiences as a man living with HIV/AIDS from 1989 to now, and how it led him to renounce his possessions and his identity during the journey. He is a mystic in the best sense of the word, having chosen to take constructive lessons on how to live and love from years of pain and discomfort. Listen to George. In this episode, I interview an old friend of mine, Mike Taubman, who has dedicated his life to education. Mike isn't just teaching high school, he's helping public education in the US intersect with the perennial goals of education: Making whole humans and whole societies. Mike teaches in Newark, NJ, at North Star Academy's Washington Park High School, a part of the Uncommon Schools network. He's currently working with colleagues to design a program for 12th graders that encourages students to reflect on their emerging sense of purpose and personal values, and then use their reflections as a foundation for career exploration, self-directed learning and, ultimately, preparation for their lives after high school. These are the final days of our first public Elephant In the Room challenge and it's been a dramatic success, for me personally and for many of the 100+ people who are participating. In this week's episode, I share my story – my elephant, my struggles, and what I learned – and draw an important lesson out of it. TLDR: I went in thinking the Elephant was something blocking me from being who I am and living the way I want to live. That's true. But what I learned is that by facing it, I am flooded with a huge amount of creative energy, like some kind of superhero. And I never expected that. In this episode I tell two stories about being Really Uncomfortable, in order to explore: Why we put ourselves in uncomfortable positions, and What we might be gaining from it. Most of the time that requires: Confusion Hard work Addressing conflict, and Unconditional love How would we treat each other if we assumed every person we met was a hero in disguise (just like we are)? What did this episode awaken in you? Don't be shy. https://www.speakpipe.com/10khshow I talk with an old friend – Brendon Tomasi – about his journey from Party Animal to Father Animal, and the ritual he developed to help him make that transition. In a culture where the Baby Shower seems to be so popular, and is more about Things than Mothers, the Fatherhood Ritual places an importance on the emotional state and the developmental moment of fatherhood. My hope is that it can honor and include the struggles modern men have at a critical moment in their lives. This is Ten Thousand Heroes and I'm Ankur Shah Delight. Today's episode is an interview with historian and author Nico Slate. Basically I want everyone to read his book. If you listened to previous episodes with Nico (#00003, #00084), you have a sense of how incredibly thoughtful he is. In this episode I talk with Relationship Therapist and Coach Dan Anear about conflict in relationships and specifically, the role our emotions play in conflict. For decades the conventional wisdom was “leave your emotions” at the door. Dan would like to challenge that. He also brings in his work with Terry Real's Relational Life Institute, and reminds us that so often “The Thing is not The Thing”: that our conflicts are deeper than they appear. This show, Ten Thousand Heroes, is about addressing conflict and difference with unconditional love. How would we treat each other if we assumed every person we met was a hero in disguise? How would our society and culture change if we did that? No matter how complex and messy things get: The only way out is through. Shilpa Jain has been mediating, facilitating, and working with conflict since she was a wee lass. In this episode she gives a rough outline of “FeedForward”, a feedback technique that aims to bridge the advantages of effective and relational feedback in the corporate and non-profit settings. It's something that every single one of us can use in our lives, probably every day. So important I'll probably make a snazzy video about the technique (but when?) We also get into: Why is it so hard to ask for feedback (or feedforward)? To give it? To receive it? And we'll explore those questions in further detail in an upcoming episode, I hope. What did this episode awaken in you? Don't be shy. https://www.speakpipe.com/10khshow April Rinne's whole message is about Flux. Flow, change, flexibility, rolling with the punches, and paying attention. That's how I capture it, at least. Her actual 8 flux superpowers are here: https://fluxmindset.com/8-superpowers In keeping with the theme, this interview is long and flowing. I did minimal editing to show how the conversation naturally progressed, as a demonstration (in one realm) of what April is bringing to the world. There is a ton of wisdom about dealing with change and how to see our own story as part of the episode, as well as some really beautiful reflection and storytelling from April on what led her to who she is today. Most of us love avoiding conflict... ...if love is evaluated on the basis of our actions rather than our words. And there's some really good reasons the mind avoids conflict. 1. You can't lose if you don't play (risk-averse) 2. Conflict means somebody (you) f*cked up. (guilt/shame) There's also another really good reason the body avoids conflict. 3. We don't know the difference between life-threatening conflict and ego-threatening conflict As you probably know, I'm not actually here to congratulate you on avoiding conflict. So in this episode, I'll go over those three (good) reasons to avoid conflict. I'll point why they're good and what negative consequences they have. And then I'll give a simple 7-word heuristic to help you determine when conflict avoidance is the right thing (and when it's not). What did this episode awaken in you? Don't be shy. https://www.speakpipe.com/10khshow This is a different kind of episode. I ended up meeting my guest in person, which, hilariously, is actually much tricker to record than meeting online. I had a videocamera I was playing with and found it really difficult to have us both on the camera at the same time and not look weird. So I edited the excerpts of our conversations into 5 different video clips which I've posted separately on YouTube. Even though you'll hear the audio now, they're worth watching because Nala has a captivating screen presence and some cool clothes, and the passion that will surely come across on audio is even amplified on video. Here are the topics she covers: 1. White people don't exist 2. The relationship between anti-racism, ancestor work, and grief 3. Why her ancestors had to be obsessed with race 4. How to talk to your ancestors 5. How grief can (and should) be ecstatic I ask you, when you engage with Nala's material, to leave aside the question of whether you "agree" with her or whether she is "right". And to instead focus on what, if anything, can I learn from this approach. Especially if you experience offense or challenge or another strong emotion. What opportunity for transcendence is encased in that emotion, that reaction? If we couldn't avoid it and had to go through it, where would we arrive? Of course, for me, the most important of Nala's messages is the possibility for us to relate differently to grief. As the Buddha loves pointing out, sickness, death, poverty, loss, and other forms of suffering are human universals. Every single one of us has occasion to experience grief. What do we do with that? Many people avoid it. Or suppress it. Or make do. Try to accept it. Try to move on. It's something that can neither be expected nor controlled. At my best I feel like I am surrendering to it, not fighting it. And even that is rare. But Nala's invitation is something else entirely -- to celebrate grief and see it as a gift. What if the whole point of mortality and grief was to give us access to spiritual awakening? What if the death of a friend or a pet or a parent is the easiest 10-day meditation retreat you could imagine, or give you the insight of 3 hits of acid without the acid? Then what? That comes in the 5th excerpt, so be patient, skip ahead or check out just that segment on YouTube. Okay, thanks everyone, and I'm turning the floor over to Nala. And remember, The only way out is through. So last week I came at you with a whole map of what I'm going to do this season, involving 10 definitions of heroism. And this week -- predictably, if you knew me -- I'm not exactly going to do that. But it'll be close. I'm going to explain why finding our purpose (analytically) is going to be a question of survival in the coming world of AI, Basic Income, Robots, and conflict resolution. I also made two videos this week, which I posted to YouTube, on conflict resolution. They're both based on the work on Ken Cloke. One is my synthesis of what mediation is, based on the training I took with Ken. The second is 16 definitions of mediation that Ken gave me, rapid fire, with no preparation or reflection, when I was trying to get some funny material for the first video. I'm including the audio from both of those videos at the end of this episode. And remember: The only way out is through. What did this episode awaken in you? Don't be shy. https://www.speakpipe.com/10khshow Welcome to the first interview of Season 6. As you may know, I want to devote this season to Conflict. I took this course in Mediation, the light has been revealed to me, and now I see every conflict as an integral part of my spiritual path. And by extension, of your spiritual path as well. My guest today is Greg Thomas. He's a musician, he's a producer, he's a scholar. I actually know very little of his credentials, but he's a friend of Jeff Salzman, so I was very excited to talk to him. And he blew me away. I fell in love with this guy and I think you will too. What I loved the most was how he reframes villainy and antagonism as essential parts of any heroic journey, so look out for that and get ready to be grateful for every difficult person and moment you've ever experienced, because that's the logical corrolary of what he's saying. And what I appreciated most about Greg was his vulnerability. He could have stayed abstract and talked about music and conflict and racialization and racism, but no, he took it real and talked about his journey with relationships, with polyamory and monogamy and parenthood, and that's part of why I was so taken with him. His honesty and his sincerity, not just the depth of his experience and his analysis. So thank you Greg and I'm really delighted to present this interview to you all. Today I want to share my plan with you for the next season of this show, Season 6. This season, I'm going to focus my solocasts on my own definitions of what a hero is, using the last 2 years of this podcast as my body of research. I've come up with 10 different definitions of heroism so far, and I'm going to do an episode about each one of them over the next few months. Here's the list: 1. A Hero Is In The Flow 2. A Hero Does Tonic Work 3. A Heroes Loves and Accepts Themselves 4. A Hero Lives In Ikigai 5. A Hero Slows Down Time 6. A Hero Masters Emotion 7. A Hero Zooms Out 8. A Hero Is Spiritually Obese 9. A Hero Sees All Sides 10. A Hero Is Made of Heroes Alright, friends, that's the overview of Season 6. Let me know what you think. Conflict welcomed, because, as you and I know: The only way out is through. Title: #000XX Season 5 Closer Description: What did this episode awaken in you? Don't be shy. https://www.speakpipe.com/10khshow Hey everybody. Welcome back to another episode of 10,000 Heroes. I'm your host, Ankur Shah Delight. This is a little different than the normal episode. This is more of an announcement. This is the end of season five. So I did this awesome experiment in the last few months with Martin. We produced 39 episodes in 13 weeks, which is way more than we normally do. Normally it's one a week and we got a ton of feedback and my head is spinning. I have all kinds of new ideas, so I just wanted to announce to you: We got some data, we got some information. I'm stoked and I have some plans in the hopper and I'm gonna let them digest a little bit, like see what's going on in there. So I'm gonna take a break. Maybe it'll be two weeks, maybe it'll be three weeks, maybe it'll be a month. Maybe it's completely different. Maybe it's exactly the same, but I think there's gonna be some changes around here, and I'm gonna really try and push myself to be the person I've always wanted to be and this is gonna draw me forth to that. And I'm excited to be on this journey and it's gonna be awesome. I know that. And it's gonna be challenging. I know that. And I'm stoked. So hang on tight. See you soon. What did this episode awaken in you? Don't be shy. https://www.speakpipe.com/10khshow Welcome back to another conversation with my foul-mouthed mentor, John Giuliano. As part of the ongoing series exploring what Anger can do for us, I talk with John about the role anger played in his life, especially during his time involved with the El Salvadoran civil war (in the ‘80s). His stories are deeply moving as always, and lead right in to the work he has been doing there every since. To check out John's work, visit the The Tamarindo Foundation website. Or better yet, let me know you're interested in visiting Guarjila – John and I are organizing a trip there sometime in the next year… Show Links: Voicemail: https://www.speakpipe.com/10khshow Email: info@10kh.show Podcast website: http://momentumlab.com/podcast Momentum Lab: http://www.momentumlab.com About our sponsor: 10,000 Heroes is brought to you by Momentum Lab. I take the opportunity to tell a story from the Salt March pilgrimage I did, and to share a little bit about my own personal healing journey with old-school traditional culture. We go deep and get real. Come with us.
