Easier said then done. Social wellbeing has three elements1. Social Acceptance - accepting others2. Social Actualisation - knowing who they are and their purpose within society 3. Social Contribution - A sense of belonging to the community and making a contribution to society. In this episode we touch on Social Acceptance. High performers are the most incredible listeners. They hold space and ask strong questions. They want the best from their tribe. They want to empower their people and always get them to believe in themselves. Sometimes we don't get that response from athletes. If I want to be a high performer - I make the most generous assumption people are doing the best they can. Then we go from there. How do we achieve success without big aspirations. How do we align ourselves if we don't know what for. Our goals and dreams align if we are brave and courageous enough to not stay accustomed to the worlds societal expectation of us. Our limits are our own. If everyone could apply this stuff we would have many successful people in the world, but how do we be the anomaly In order for us to control and manage stress, to feel good and function well we need to have a clear vision of the person we are trying to become. Values are the key. See the quiz option attached https://personalvalu.es/ See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Elite female athletes are currently in a prosperous but hard growth phase. With majority of our Australian/NZ team sports, the female spaces are full of new opportunity, but also huge responsibility. Traditionally as the care-takers of the house hold based on societal norms, many of our young, old or new female professional athletes are having to manage this space with limited expertise. Our research in sports performance as female athletes equates to only 3% of all sport performance research internationally. Based on our female physiology the way we function is very different to a male. Therefore I think it's important to share learnings of how we are strong in our own right. How you can become a high performing part-timer, and how you can reshape your thinking to do the best you can with what you have at this time in female sport. How to balance emotions? Meditation, breathing, mindfulness, gratitude...there are all of these alternative ways thats available to us to help stress-reguate and have more control over our emotions....but is it really that easy. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Finding the gap between who we are and who we want to be through understanding your environment and the people you give your time too. In a high school environment there is an obscene amount of pressure on our young people. Unfortunately in a space where social heirachy either helps you fit in or makes you feel isolated, our young women aren't able to grasp their sense of self and instil self-belief when they are trying to mould themselves for safety - a friendship group etc. How to move forward. "It's not a priority" We don't need to have good wellbeing strategies and a sense of self or identity until we do. We don't needs stress regulation strategies or a support network, until we do. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Balancing Self-Compassion and Accountability. We are human. Everyone has their own perception of personal development, purpose and ways to cope in this world. My podcasting journey was started to increase education and awareness for myself, and hopefully in the process, allow others to learn from my mistakes and different learnings. Resetting away from your flourishing environment takes a lot of falling down, but I will keep working on improving myself, my focus and my attention. Aligning to last weeks episode, we can get very caught up we can make many decisions on a day to day basis purely based on the preconceived idea of what a person may be thinking about us or toward us. This then can shape our next movement, behaviour or action. It is vital to catch yourself in these small moments during the day and remind yourself of your circle. Those who's opinions matter most. This then allows you to by-pass those negative thoughts and feelings which create our insecure nature and show courage at the most pivotal times. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Your energy represents your soul, passion, love - your ability to connect with others. Unfortunately due to our nature we tend to make assumptions of others based on their actions....totally normal right? I've been here before with you - talking about making the most generous assumption of others...but when you work in a space with people (mostly all jobs) this is VITAL! You will fail. Go back to it. Do it again. Repeat, forgive yourself and do it again. I promise the person you are presenting to the world will reap with love, opportunity and happiness. “She’s Got Confidence” composed by Karina Brown one of our star pioneering NRLW players who has shown courage to immerse herself in her creative and innovative musical talents away from the sporting field. Teamed up with @houseofharlen_ to create this incredible song!We sat down today and spoke about the reasons behind composing a song about confidence in young women, the importance of paving the pathway for our younger generation and instilling self-belief and confidence in our girls. A huge lesson we can take away from this is the understanding that you are more than what you’re good at and by immersing yourself in different interests you find new spaces for innovation, discovery and self-improvement. Here’s how to tell if you’re a blamer: When something goes wrong, do you immediately want to know whose fault it is or do you make room for empathy and accountability? If you’re guilty of the former, you’re probably a bit of a blamer—But take heart, you’re in good company. We all have these tendencies, this is normal. It's how we take note of our actions, emotions and behaviours and acknowledge ways to improve the response. Throughout this first podcast season I'm starting to hear the same message. We have so much armour that stops us from being seen, having courage and stepping forward in the world.
