Should Trans Athlete Be banned from Women's Sports?

It's elementary, Transwomen that are Trans Athletes should not compete in Women's sports. Renaldo McKenzie, joined by Donte T. Nelson discuss the recent move by #donaldtrump to ban transwomen from competing in women's sports and to pass actions preventing schools and government institutions from recognizing trans athlete and transgender people. Renaldo shares his article blog published in The Neoliberal Journals: The Neoliberal CorporationMar 07It's elementary, women who were once men, should not play in Women Sports. Such women still possess or have access to their masculinity that gives them an advantage over other women born as women. Therefore, it is unfair for transwomen to compete in women's sport until the technology is available to drain them of their masculine prowess and that can perform checks when they fail to take their hormone meds when they are competing in events to get temporary advantage. If anything transgender women should create their own sporting category to evade any issue from performing in women's sport and to satisfy their need to compete in sports. If the transgender women promote diversity, equity and inclusion, they should see how their participation in women's sport is hypocritical to that cause. Moreover, the attack on Gavin Newsom is misplaced and unfortunate, because he sides with what seems fair which goes against your wants not your needs and principles. If anything Newsome's position coincides with diversity, equity and inclusion, because DEI is about and facilitates fairness and transgender women in women's sport is unfair and goes against DEI and the ideals of the LGBTQIA community. The solution is simple, create an opportunity for transgender women to play in sports where they have their own category or sporting events and they compete against each other. Now what's wrong with that. Why not come up with something we all can agree on instead of forcing the issue?(https://theneoliberal.com/its-elementary-transgender-women-should-not-play-in-womens-sport/The show begins with a news excerpt of the recent actions by the Trump administration to stymie LGBTQIA super trans women in sports and Trump commenting on his actions.Renaldo and Donte then discuss the topic with background music and interludes.Renaldo McKenzie is the Creator and Host of the Neoliberal Round Podcast, Author of Neoliberalism, Globalization, Income Inequality, Poverty and Resistance and Professor at Jamaica Theological Seminary, Doctoral Cand. at Georgetown University. Men's sports are cooked! With the decline of the NBA, professional sports are facing a wave of irrelevance not seen since the '70s. Whitlock points out that even the NFL is being undermined during Super Bowl week. Many Chiefs players, including Mahomes and Kelce, have been asked about the officiating conspiracy. Men's sports have been slowly losing traction over the last decade. On the other hand, women's sports are on the rise—specifically, the WNBA. Learning from last year's mistakes, the WNBA is setting up what could be the biggest sports rivalry of the past 20 years: the Las Vegas Aces and the Indiana Fever. Both teams have made championship-level offseason moves to strengthen their rosters. Jason predicts that these two teams will emulate the Celtics-Lakers rivalry from the golden age of the NBA—A'ja Wilson vs. Caitlin Clark is Magic vs. Bird. The exciting whites vs. the angry blacks. This is what men's sports are lacking. Steve Kim also joins the show to discuss the rise of the WNBA and LeBron's reaction to the Luka trade. The Dallas Mavericks are even offering refunds to season ticket holders who wish to cancel their subscriptions. I said it once, and I'll say it again—men's professional sports are cooked. The Clay Edwards Show
BREAKING- Trump reportedly plans to kick trans troops out of the military on inauguration day!!

The Clay Edwards Show

Donald Trump is expected to sign an executive order that would remove transgender service members from the military as soon as his first day in office. The president-elect is reportedly preparing to issue an order following his inauguration on January 20 that would effectively ban trans people serving in the military — and then medically discharge the thousands of currently serving trans service members in the armed forces. In his first term in office, Trump declared that the US would no longer “accept or allow” trans people in the military, citing “tremendous medical costs and disruption,” he tweeted in 2017. The ban took effect in 2019. President Joe Biden reversed that policy, which was the subject of several lawsuits. Now, Trump is expected to immediately rescind Biden's order and go further by ejecting currently-serving trans troops, according to The Times, citing sources familiar with the president-elect's plans. The executive action is among a stack of orders the president-elect is planning to issue as soon as he re-enters the White House, including sweeping actions on immigration, all of which are expected to draw significant legal battles. “These unnamed sources are speculating and have no idea what they are actually talking about. No decisions on this issue have been made,” Trump transition spokesperson and incoming White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said in a statement shared with The Independent. “No policy should ever be deemed official unless it comes directly from President Trump or his authorized spokespeople.” Throughout his campaign, which joined Republican groups in spending tens of millions of dollars on anti-trans attack ads targeting people who make up less than 1 per cent of the nation's population, Trump pledged to revoke vital civil rights protections for LGBT+ people and block trans students from playing sports or using bathrooms that align with their gender identities. He also intends to ban gender-affirming healthcare for trans youth nationwide. Republicans have filed hundreds of state-level anti-trans bills, and within days after the 2024 elections, GOP members of Congress have spent hours vilifying and misgendering trans people, including the first-ever trans member of Congress, while pushing new legislation to block trans people from bathrooms across the country. The Republican Party's 2024 platform lists “Keep Men Out of Women Sports” among its most important priorities. Pete Hegseth, Trump's nominee to lead the Department of Defense, who will be in charge of 3 million service members and civilian staff around the world, supported Trump's previous ban on trans service members, and has baselessly asserted that trans people are “not deployable” and cause “complications.” There are roughly 15,000 trans people serving in the nation's armed forces at a time when branches are suffering from recruitment shortfalls. “These people will be forced out at a time when the military can't recruit enough people,” a source familiar with Trump's plans told The Times. Banning trans people from the military “would undermine the readiness of the military and create an even greater recruitment and retention crisis, not to mention signaling vulnerability to America's adversaries,” Rachel Branaman, executive director of Modern Military Association of America, said. “Abruptly discharging 15,000-plus service members, especially given that the military's recruiting targets fell short by 41,000 recruits last year, adds administrative burdens to warfighting units, harms unit cohesion, and aggravates critical skill gaps,” she said. “There would be a significant financial cost, as well as a loss of experience and leadership that will take possibly 20 years and billions of dollars to replace.” Paulo Batista, a transgender analyst in the Navy, said that a ban would have a ripple effect through the armed services. “You take 15,000 of us out — there's more but that's the number that is always mentioned — that's 15,000 leadership positions, every one of us play a vital role,” he said.

Women's professional sports are "having a moment", but this did not happen in a vacuum nor did it happen overnight. In a highly anticipated episode (for us), we finally got a chance to sit down with Claire Knapp (CEO of Havas Lynx) and Denise Melone (Managing Director of Havas Life San Francisco) to discuss the implications of the growth of women's sports, both as a business and as an opportunity. Both of these female leaders are accomplished athletes, and we discuss the role of things like teamwork, coaching, and mental fortitude, learned on the judo mats and tennis courts, in their successes as corporate leaders at Havas. The growing interest in the competitive aspects of women's sports has coincided with the appearance of women in a variety of hitherto-denied spaces, such as the boardroom, the judging panel, and even just full-court basketball (looking at you, Sue Atkins--my mom). While this shift is notable, both Claire and Denise express the sentiment that disparities in treatment, compensation and conversation are still as important as ever to address and overcome. What's important is how we talk about women, not as bodies but as humans, and, in the case for this episode, as fierce, aggressive, badass athletes. If you have any questions, feedback, or just want to say hi, email us at medicalanthropology@havas.comCheck out Breaking the Code on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/breaking-the-code-havas-health-and-you-podcast

We're celebrating CAAMFest (Center for Asian American Media) 2024 with two films about young women athletes!Home Court is a documentary that follows Ashley Chea, a basketball prodigy and first generation Cambodian-American, as she navigates recruitment, injury, and generational trauma. We are joined by director Erica Tanamachi and producer Jenn Lee Smith who share their excitement in telling a story about Asian American sport leagues, showing a positive relationship between a player and her coach, prioritizing people on and off camera, and working with two Bitch Talk favorites, Lisa Ling and Ruby Ibarra. The documentary Ashima follows a year in the life of 13 year-old Ashima Shiraishi, one of the world's youngest elite rock climbers, as she travels with her father/coach from New York to South Africa in the hopes of becoming the youngest climber to conquer a V14 boulder (in the climbing world, this is an elite ranked climb). Director Kenji Tsukamoto and producer Minji Chang share their decade long journey into getting this film made, Kenji's intimate filmmaking experience that involved living with the family, and Ashima's reaction to watching the film ten years later.Follow Home Court on IGFollow director Erica Tanamachi on IGFollow producer Jenn Lee Smith on IGFollow Ashima on IGFollow director Kenji Tsukamoto on IGFollow producer Minji Chang on IGSupport the Show. Thanks for listening and for your support! If not check out the stage production directed by Commander Drew's cousin; it's called Mozart's Don Giovanni, a Rock Opera; check it out when it comes to city near you.Precious metals are touted as a hedge against inflation and presumed to hold value even in the midst of financial chaos. You can now buy your own one ounce bold bullion bars at Costco conveniently and for a reasonable price. Womens sports has exploded in viewership recently because of the phenomenon of the college basketball scoring sensation, Caitlin Clark. Time will tell if her notoriety will usher in a significant raise in salary for female players. Although her salary will be paltry by most standards, she like many others will be rewarded handsomely by companies enthusiastically using here name, image and likeness. If you ever visit Brooklyn, New York, you should try to visit the Coney Island Amusement park, and make sure you try a hotdog with red onions and mustard at Nathan's! Two black men and a Jew (Joe Lewis, Jessie Owens, and Albert Einstein) punched holes in Nazi doctrine about physical and scholastic achievement based solely on ethnic origin. This week's wingman was not involved in aviation. A very special canine came to the rescue for one lucky man by acting as a guardian when his owner became incapacitated in a vacant field. Women's college basketball is big business—top teams bring in millions of dollars in revenue for their schools. Women's NCAA games are broadcast regularly on sports networks, and many of the top players and coaches are household names. Yet these athletes face immense pressure to be more than successful at their sport. They must also conform to expectations about gender, sexuality, and race—expectations that are often in direct contrast to success in the game. They are not supposed to have muscles that are too big, they are not supposed to be too tough, they are not supposed to be too masculine or “look like men,” and they are not supposed to be queer. A former college athlete herself, Michelle J. Manno spent a full season with a highly competitive NCAA Division I women's basketball program as one of the team's managers. In vivid detail, she takes us on the court, on the team bus, into the locker room, and to championship games to show the intense dedication that these women give to the game. She found, perhaps unsurprisingly, that these extremely talented women were strictly policed around the presentation of their gender and sexuality, especially the athletes who were Black. They were routinely monitored, banned from engaging in certain activities, and often punished for behavior that put their queerness, Blackness, and masculinity on display. Convincingly conforming to conventional expectations of gender and sexuality—from the clothes they wore to the people they dated—was yet another challenge at which they needed to excel. Importantly, Manno also highlights several well-known contemporary professional athletes—Brittney Griner, Serena Williams, Gabby Douglas, and Caster Semenya, among others—to show that fame and performing at the highest levels in sport does not protect women athletes from having to navigate the conflicting and often contradictory expectations of identity. A riveting portrait of an elite basketball program, Denied: Women, Sports, and the Contradictions of Identity (NYU Press, 2023) will forever change our understanding of women athletes and the sports they play.
