How is your emotional fitness? Just like when we exercise our body to become strong and fit and healthy, we also need to work on our emotions and mental health. And just as if we stop exercising in the gym, we also will become less emotionally fit when we stop doing the work. Mental health is more important than ever and needs to be discussed more than ever. I hope to get to a point where conversations and asking for help on a mental part will be as 'normal' as talking about physical problems where you would go to the doctor for or that it is considered 'normal' to exercise for your body. We look at tips and tricks to take care of our mental health in the workplace and we talk about getting a conversation started with others when it comes to addressing their mental health and looking after them in a way they need. When we have a goal or a dream in our life, usually the only reason why we won't succeed is due to our limiting beliefs. When I got out of my restrictive dieting cycle, I feared ever being hungry again. So then I stuffed myself with food in case I would get hungry later, even when I wasn't hungry. In theory there is nothing wrong with losing a little bit of weight. But if you are using this as an excuse to start later, you can ask yourself why. Why not choose today? Choose to take good care of yourself today. Choose health instead of the urge to lose weight. “Your thoughts shape your vision. You see what you choose to see.” Maybe a bit of a controversial subject, but a necessary one. I feel like I hear a lot of women giving up on their health during lockdown. Eating and drinking everything, promising themselves to start again after lockdown. To go on a next diet and lose the lockdown weight. Besides the fact that diets don't work, I am encouraging you to ask yourself why you have a need to lose the weight. I feel like the only real reason to lose weight is for health reasons. But then, if you want to be healthy, why not choose today? Don't you and your body deserve the healthiest you today? Especially in lockdown? Of course, I am all for giving yourself some space, gratitude and grace in these hard times. But I also think the best way to do so is to take care of yourself the best way you know how. "It's not that I can't eat that, it is my choice to not eat that because it just isn't worth it to me" Do you find it hard to decide how hungry you really are and if you'r even truly hungry? This is the tool I used to get started with intuitive eating, really listening to my body and healing my relationship with her so that I could ditch my diet rules, restrictions and way of thinking. It gave me my first steps after a life of yo-yo dieting, restricting myself because I couldn't eat more than a certain amount of calories. A life where I numbed myself with eating when I wasn't hungry because I let my 'hunger' rule by the thoughts I had, my emotions and the habits that didn't serve me anymore. How can it be that relationships don't really last all the time? That they end up in divorce, family fights or disconnection with friends? I have looked into it and this is what I believe helps you to build long-lasting relationships with anyone that will compliment your life! A little sneak peek, it mostly has to do with communication.
