Send us a textYou're not angry. You're not yelling. You're just… tired. The kind of tired that sinks in so deep, you're not even fighting anymore, you're just holding it together in silence, hoping things will somehow fix themselves. If love feels like a burden lately, if you find yourself walking on eggshells or wondering why it's so quiet at home, you're not alone. In fact, you're living through one of the most common, yet least talked about, relationship struggles of our time: emotional exhaustion.Welcome to Love Shack Live, the podcast for anyone at a relationship crossroads. Whether you're trying to save your marriage, navigating space and separation, or aching to reconnect with your partner, we're here to help you rebuild something real and lasting. I'm Staci Bartley, joined by my partner Tom and our daughter Brooke. Together, we'll get honest about what's actually happening when couples stop fighting, not because they've healed, but because they've run out of gas. Here's what we're unpacking this week:Why “peace and quiet” can actually be a danger signThe real-life symptoms of emotional burnout most people missHow magical thinking (“we'll get to it later”) quietly sabotages connectionThe invisible emotional labor that wears us down, especially for over-functioners and the quietly checked-outWhy punishing your partner (or yourself) for not “fixing it” never worksHow modern life is straining our capacity for love, and what to do about itPractical ways to refuel your emotional gas tank (even when you feel totally spent)Why play and joy aren't optional, they're the medicine your relationship desperately needsThe single most important skill you were never taught about love (and how to finally practice it)If you're exhausted from trying to keep your relationship together, or just tired of being the one who always tries, this episode will help you name what you're feeling, and finally offer a way forward. We'll share the science, the stories, and the skills that can help you stop spiraling, reconnect, and rebuild. Here's our big question:What if “not fighting” isn't a sign things are getting better, but the clearest warning that your relationship needs help, now? It's not your fault. You just haven't learned the skills yet. Join us in the Love Shack, let's talk about what no one else is saying, and get you the relief you deserve.

“When you have an idea, you should capture that idea and put it somewhere, because you're basically training your brain that ideas are important and I value them.”Finding your own brand of creativity and being unique can feel like a struggle in the beginning stages of your career. This week, Kyle Scheele joins us to share some tips on that topic drawn from his own journey of using his crazy ideas to stand out. Kyle started his career early in life when he landed a t-shirt line through Urban Outfitters across the USA and Canada. Over the course of his speaking career, Kyle has gone viral on TikTok multiple times, spoken to both youth audiences and corporate events, and over time switched paths from primarily speaking in the education space to working with larger corporate events. He believes his approachability, understandable advice, and genuine entertainment have taken him to the next level, and he's here to tell you how to develop those things for yourself. However, at every stage of his career (like most speakers), Kyle has had his doubts about the risks he took. During this episode, Kyle talks about how he overcame those fears by knowing and believing that he had talking points that worked. Trial and error can be difficult to embrace, but it's a key part of learning how to grow as a world-renowned speaker. This is a great episode with a lot of practical lessons for speakers — both new and veteran alike. You'll learn:How to find where your story intersects with the marketWhy you need to question assumptionsThe importance of honest feedbackWhy you should lean on the content in your speech that worksHow to act on your ideasAnd much, much more!“To be human is to be creative.”Episode Resources:Kyle's WebsiteGet Free Speaker ResourcesBook a Call with The Speaker LabCalculate Your Speaking FeeJoin The Speaker Lab Community on FacebookSubscribe on Apple PodcastsSubscribe on SpotifySee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

When it comes to accountability, the traditional approach has put leaders in charge of holding others accountable. Often this approach translates into a fear-based, command-and-control, “I have the authority, and I'm going to tell you what to do” approach to accountability. But does this approach work in the modern workplace? (And, we might ask, did it ever work?)In this episode, Daniel and Peter dive into the myth of accountability–the idea that leaders must hold their people accountable. This myth often leads to micromanaging, conflict, and a kind of “parent-child” approach to leadership.Daniel and Peter suggest a better path–one that encourages a culture of self-accountability where teams work together in a partnership to deliver results.Tune in to learn:What the CMC model of accountability is–and why it worksHow to encourage self-accountability as a leaderWhat to do if your team resists an approach of self-accountabilityPlus, some thoughts on Artificial Intelligence, including a big announcement! Can music teach us how to live? In this interview Evan Rosa invites Daniel Chua—a musicologist, composer at heart, and Professor of Music at the University of Hong Kong—to discuss his latest book, Music & Joy: Lessons on the Good Life.Together they discuss the vastly different ancient and modern approaches to music; the problem with seeing music for consumption and entertainment; the ways different cultures conceive of music and wisdom: from Jewish to Greek to Christian; seeing the disciplined spontaneity of jazz improvisation fitting with both a Confucian perspective on virtue, and Christian newness of incarnation; and finally St. Augustine, the worshipful jubilance of singing in the midst of one's work to find rhythm and joy that is beyond suffering; and a final benediction and blessing for every music lover.Throughout the interview, we'll offer a few segments of the music Daniel discusses, including Beethoven's Opus 132 and the Ode to Joy from Beethoven's 9th symphony, and John Cage's controversial 4'33”—which Daniel recommends we listen to every single day, and which we're going to play during this episode toward the end.Show NotesMusic and Joy: Lessons on the Good Life by Daniel Chua (https://yalebooks.yale.edu/book/9780300264210/music-and-joy/)Can music teach us how to live? The emotional relationship we have with musicEveryone identifies with musicHow did you come to love music and write on it?MusicologistThe Sound of Music soundtrack (https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLeSQLYs2U8X0nTi15MHjMAWim3PxIyEqI)Listening to music at a young ageLove of Beethoven as a childWhat about Beethoven in particular spoke to you? Mette Mitchell, my favourite homeopath, is back, and this time she's talking about the Narayani Remedies - a group of remedies that I had never heard about before. If you aren't familiar with homeopathy, then please be sure to check out my prior interviews with Mette, episode #'s 24, 37 and 54. Homeopathy offers so much support and peace of mind, so they are definitely worth your listening! They literally can be nothing short of miraculous.Today Mette introduces to us the Narayani remedies - a system of homeopathy that simplifies prescribing as the remedies really speak to all versions of the symptoms you are experiencing. It's basically the opposite of classical homeopathy, which helps bring the power to you rather than to the practitioner. What do I mean by that? I mean that you don't have to know all the nuances of the symptoms you are experiencing to find the correct remedy. The remedies are combinations of many remedies to cover all aspects of your symptoms. You feel tension? Go for the tension remedy. You have a cough? Go for CCA (one of Mette's favourites). In this episode Mette tells us about:Dosing with liquid remedies vs. pelletsHow vitality impacts how homeopathy worksHow to match potency to vitality (when in doubt go for 30C)Ruta - a great remedy for strainsMette's metaphor for dosing that illustrates how frequency of dosing adjusts over time with acute situationsWhy we don't dose homeopathy over the longer termWhat 'proving' a remedy isHow it was discovered which symptoms are treated with which remedyThe origins of the Narayani Remedies and how it is a 'complete' systemWhen it is ok to take certain remedies for a longer periodHow changing potencies for the same remedy changes how the remedy behaves in the bodyHow homeopathic prescribing has changed since the formal inception of homeopathyHow Narayani remedies come with very simple prescribing rulesHow different eras tend to require different remediesThe appropriateness of the remedy Baryta Carb in an age where it is time for us to 'grow up'How homeopathy wasn't invented, but discoveredThe benefit of the 'shock' remedyA description of several handy Narayani remedies, including remedies for detox, parasites, tension, organ support, shock and moreHow our symptoms are part of our healing, not the diseaseMette's 4-week Narayani class coming up on Oct. 2Why Mette believes we don't need to build vitality but to lift what is suppressing itWhere to get the remediesAnd more!If you enjoyed this episode, please share and consider going to www.sovereigncollective.org/shop to check out my offerings and get a deal while supporting the podcast.
