In this comprehensive deep dive, Dr. Tony Ebel explores PANDAS (Pediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorders Associated with Streptococcal Infections) and PANS from a neurologically-focused perspective. Drawing from his extensive clinical experience treating hundreds of PANDAS cases, Dr. Ebel reveals why traditional biomedical and functional medicine approaches, while important, often fall short when not properly sequenced with nervous system care. This episode challenges the conventional understanding that PANDAS begins in the gut, instead presenting compelling evidence that nervous system dysfunction is the root cause that then triggers the cascade of gut dysbiosis, immune dysfunction, and neuroinflammation. Dr. Ebel provides a detailed clinical protocol for healing, emphasizing the critical importance of addressing nervous system regulation first before implementing intensive biomedical interventions.Key Topics & TimestampsIntroduction & PANDAS Overview [00:00:00 - 00:06:00]Definition and why PANDAS cases spike during seasonal transitionsThe "perfect storm" nature of PANDAS requiring deep understandingDr. Ebel's Background & The PANDAS Rollercoaster [00:06:00 - 00:16:00]Clinical experience with hundreds of PANDAS casesPersonal story with his daughter's toxic exposureSetting realistic expectations: peaks, valleys, and signs of true healingWhy Current Approaches Fall Short [00:16:00 - 00:25:00]Traditional medicine limitationsFunctional medicine gets "one or two layers deep" but misses root causeWhy families feel stuck despite "doing everything right"The Root Cause: Nervous System First [00:25:00 - 00:36:00]Why gut-focused approaches miss the deeper issueNervous system → gut → immune → inflammation cycleThe reality of supplement overload and extreme restrictionsFinding the Right Practitioners & Protocol [00:36:00 - 00:50:00]Importance of expert-level care from neurologically-focused providersWhy "full send" biomedical approaches too early make kids worseThe 90-180 day nervous system stabilization periodClinical Implementation: The Reset Approach [00:50:00 - 01:01:00]Pausing 80% of supplements while keeping basicsUsing INSiGHT scans to achieve neurological stabilityRealistic timeline: 1-3 year healing journey with proper sequencing-- Follow us on Socials: Instagram: @pxdocs Facebook: Dr. Tony Ebel & The PX Docs Network Youtube: The PX Docs For more information, visit PXDocs.com to read informative articles about the power of Neurologically-Focused Chiropractic Care. This session shares the Franklin (MA) School Committee meeting held on Tuesday, Feb 11, 2025. All 7 members participated in Council Chambers. The public section of the meeting was comparatively short. They did enter Executive Session to discuss contract negotiations and did not return to the public meeting.Quick recapThe Keller Student Council stepped forward to lead the Pledge of Allegiance to open the meetingDuring the Superintendent's report, there was recognition of 4 FHS musicians who were selected to the All-State Music Festival; Emma Anderson (French horn), Ace Eagerman (string bass), Alex Fioavanti (?) and Emily Lou, (violin) During the discussion prior to the vote on the budget, a number of teachers from elementary, middle, and high school stepped up to comment on the decline of funding over the years, the impact on the students and their educational development effects on college prep with a limit on foreign language options less than optimal and not talked of impacts to the new schedule at both elementary & middle levels while individual classes size is maintained within guidelines, the teacher workload increasesThe committee did vote 7-0 on the proposed budget; I assume it is possible to make further adjustments (as hoped for by some of the teachers) given the position we are in for this budget cycleThe budget as approved does assume a successful override although that decision remains before the Town Council at a March meeting, after the listening sessions are completed. Date and amount of override to be determinedSchool calendar for the 2025-2026 year was approved. It does start after Labor Day this year to enable the move in Sept 2025 to be completed. Resumption of pre-Labor Day start is expected for the next school yearDiscussion on a draft of the School Committee meeting calendar covered multiple topics mostly around the local election in November and to prepare for a new committee to be able to transition into their new role more easily than priorMotion to enter into Executive session, not to return to public meeting for contract negotiation discussionsThe recording runs about 1 hour & 40 minutes, so let's listen in.--------------The Franklin TV video is available for replay here -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VfqefUMtloU&t=51 The agenda doc can be found -> https://ma-franklin.civicplus.com/AgendaCenter/School-Committee-35/?#_02112025-1571 Meeting packet (other docs as they are released after the meeting will get posted here) -> https://www.franklinps.net/documents/departments/school-committee/meeting-packets/2024---25-meeting-packets/february-11%2C-2025-sc-meeting-packet/756881 My full set of notes taken during the meeting can be found in one PDF -> https://drive.google.com/file/d/1xUU7zppEaNgj9xN442EdbZnFvnqI3VSM/view?usp=drive_link -------------We are now producing this in collaboration with Franklin.TV and Franklin Public Radio (wfpr.fm) or 102.9...

TranscriptThis morning I downloaded and logged into InstagramSomething I haven't done in a month or twoI mostly got off of the platform because I don't really think it's doing good things for humanityThe problem is so many people use itTheir communication and time is used up on itAnd many people have a picture of their reality from itAnd so to not participate is somehow to not exist as a creative personThis is something I've been ruminating on for yearsBut this is just such a short note because what I saw on there this morning, after I made a post about possibly selling some prints to support my schooling, was the two of the most extreme directions that humanity participates in, which are death and birthDeath and birthAnd I saw them in extremely gross expressionsI saw an explosion on a roadwayI saw a giant fireball engulfing cars in a place that I have no idea if I've ever been to or will ever go to or know any of the people or even if it's realBecause it very well and even likely could have been something that an application generatedI don't even like to use the word, but artificial intelligenceIt was probably thatIt probably wasn't even realAnother thing I saw was a video of someone getting slapped so hard that they passed outBut it wasn't only thatIt was an AI-generated image that showed his face collapsing in an unbelievable wayBut it wasn't realBut if someone's just scrolling and they're not paying attention and they see these things, they think, oh, this is realThat just happenedSomething I thought could never happen just happened in front of my very eyesAnd so that's deathThat's actually the death of the human spiritThat is complete collapse and destructivenessBasically to be creating fear through falsehoodAnd then on the other side, I saw a picture of a woman in a dressCould have been AII don't knowI don't know the contextI didn't click on the imageBut she was standing in a shimmery dressAnd so these images..I guess I should add that the dress was very tight-fittingSo basically what I saw was extreme violence and pornographyThat's what is being shown in the algorithmic feed on Instagram that people in general are just being subjected toSo what do we do with that? Well, I reported every single post that I sawIt's not going to change anythingIt's not going to do anythingBut it made me feel better to at least do somethingIn fact, it might make it worseIt only took me about five seconds to do these thingsBut I think it was worth itThe point of this, though, isn't to blame the Instagram platform and the creators for being evil, even though they areEven though the platform is destructive and horrific and terrible and uselessIt's also useful and creative and profound and abundantThe fact is, everything in the world ends up being related to these thingsTo skate along on the surface and believe that these experiences won't touch us is impossibleBut by interacting with the world through a screen, it seems like we can have some distance from the realitiesAnd we can just entertain ourselves by watching them instead of engaging with our livesAnd I think that this is extremely dangerous, and actually more dangerous than being shown violenceI think what's more dangerous is complacency and lack of connection and engagement with life, which is what these platforms really wantThey want you to just feel fear, feel lust, and then not do anything about itJust to consume more fear and more lustThat's the goalBut there's something profound beneath all of this, which is that the reality of fear and desire is inescapable in lifeBut the fact is, we have to be in control of our fears and desiresAnd it doesn't matter what the world shows us or serves us, what the algorithm displays, if we can't keep a center, there's no hopeRight now, it's election day, and the political stratum is basically birth and deathNot a positive form of birth and death, but the most deranged formsIs one better than another? I don't knowIt's all part of a cycleThe cycle doesn't want to endSo, we have to be the endI don't really know what that means, but I'm going to keep engaging with my internal world, with my internal workStaying true to what I know is important and what mattersI'm going to keep focusing on what is beautiful, and what seems powerful to meAnd I won't let my center be swayed by violence and lustThank you for listening. Originally Published October 25, 2021. Inspired by an upcoming episode with Dr Prior about perimenopause, specifically, I thought it important to revisit the need to understand the important roles of BOTH estrogen AND progesterone. We've all been told about the powerful effects of estrogen on a woman's reproductive cycle. But more people are now learning that progesterone is equally as important. With so much research and discussion regarding hormone imbalances in women today, experts confirm that these two female sex hormones are critical to more than just sex and pregnancy— they're vital to every woman's health. In this episode, Dr. Jerilynn Prior of the Centre for Menstrual Cycle and Ovulation Research (CeMCOR) shares essential information about the roles that estrogen and progesterone play in not only ovulation but basic health. She explains why hormone imbalance is so important to confront, and how hormones impact overall wellness from heart health to bone health to mood. She offers some insight into how women's hormones change throughout various stages of life, from puberty to menopause. Discussed in this episode:The difference between estrogen and progesteroneUnderstanding estrogen vs progesterone in the menstrual cycleThe role of estrogen and progesterone in bone health, breast and endometrial cancer risk, fertility, weight, and heart healthWhy balancing hormones in women is so important (regardless of whether or not you want to get pregnant!)Clearing up confusion on the common question: does stress impact fertility? Why it's hard for women to be aware of some of this researchHow your hormone balance is defined at different ages and stages of life“It's important to be aware of your reproductive cycle because it's such a key indicator of optimal health overall. It's also important to know because if you want to have a child one day, you need to ovulate normally. Today we're talking to Megan Rempel all about working WITH your cycle to get more done! Megan shares how she learned about “cycle thinking” and how it all makes sense once you learn it!She breaks down the four phases of our cycle by comparing them to the four seasons – spring (follicular), summer (auditory), fall (luteal) and winter (menstrual). We learn about the energy we feel during each phase and how we can work WITH that energy to feel more in alignment with ourselves.Megan shares how she plans her months based on her cycle. She starts by blocking off her menstrual phase in RED – no high energy activities during that time! Then, she blocks her ovulatory phase in green. This is when she knows she'll have the energy to do lots of things! From here, she shares how, as a woman in business, she uses the phases of her cycle to plan her calendar. It's her SUPERPOWER!She then explains how our cycle affects the foods our bodies need and crave each during each phase and how we can use foods to combat PMS symptoms. Carbon SequestrationCarbon sequestration is the process of capturing and storing atmospheric carbon dioxide to slow the pace of climate change. There are two major types of carbon sequestration: geologic and biologic. Geological carbon sequestration injects carbon dioxide captured from an industrial or energy-related source into underground geologic formations. Biological carbon sequestration refers to the storage of atmospheric carbon in vegetation, soils, woody products, and aquatic environments. While carbon dioxide (CO2) is naturally captured from the atmosphere through biological, chemical, and physical processes, some artificial sequestration techniques exploit the natural processes to slow the atmospheric accumulation of CO2.Soil Carbon Sequestration and Climate ChangeThe exchange of carbon between soils and the atmosphere is a significant part of the world's carbon cycle. Carbon, as it relates to the organic matter of soils, is a major component of soil and catchment health. However, human activities including agriculture have caused massive losses of soil organic carbon, leading to soil deterioration. California´s Healthy Soil Initiative is one program in the state working to promote the development of healthy soils in efforts to increase the state´s carbon sequestration, prevent soil deterioration and reduce overall greenhouse gas emissions.Soil carbon sequestration is a process in which CO2 is removed from the atmosphere, primarily mediated by plants through photosynthesis, with carbon stored in the form of soil organic matter. Many scientists agree that regenerative agricultural practices can reduce atmospheric CO2 while also boosting soil productivity and health and increasing resilience to floods and drought.UC Berkeley researchers found that low-tech agricultural management practices such as planting cover crops, optimizing grazing, and sowing legumes on rangelands, if instituted globally, could capture enough carbon from the atmosphere and store it in the soil to reduce global temperatures 0.26 degrees Celsius – nearly half a degree Fahrenheit – by 2100. However, critics say that because biological sequestration isn't permanent and can be hard to measure, it's only part of the climate solution and not a substitute for reducing emissions. Whendee SilverDr. Whendee Silver is the Rudy Grah Chair and Professor of Ecosystem Ecology and Biogeochemistry in the Department of Environmental Science, Policy, and Management at U.C. Berkeley. She received her Ph.D. in Ecosystem Ecology from Yale University. Her work seeks to determine the biogeochemical effects of climate change and human impacts on the environment, and the potential for mitigating these effects. The Silver Lab is currently working on drought and hurricane impacts on tropical forests, climate change mitigation potential of grasslands, and greenhouse gas dynamics of peatlands and wetlands. Professor Silver is the lead scientist of the Marin Carbon Project, which is studying the potential for land-based climate change mitigation, particularly by composting high-emission organic waste for soil amendments to sequester atmospheric carbon dioxide. In the fertility world, we often get the impression that exercise isn't necessary or helpful. In fact, we are told that exercise could mess up our chances of conceiving. Doctors may tell you to stick to walking, especially in the implantation phase of your cycle (i.e. after you ovulate). However, it happens to be a bit more nuanced than that. In fact, the right kind of exercise can actually amplify your chances of getting pregnant.Interestingly, studies show that we actually perform better athletically before we ovulate, and we are naturally a bit less inclined to move mountains after ovulation occurs. Coincidence? I think not. Our natural design is very intelligent. Once you learn to work with it, you'll master all your rhythms. Today's episode gives you the scoop on how to exercise for your hormones. We all know that exercise is one of the most beneficial things we can do for ourselves. Not only is it vital to our physical health, but also does wonders for boosting our endorphins and reducing stress. It is important to note, however, that exercise can also be a stressor on the body, and may deplete essential reproductive hormones, particularly the ones we need for implantation. To strike the right balance, we need to hone in on the types of exercises as well as the duration, when seeking to achieve the optimal hormonal balance to conceive. Excess high-intensity or aerobic exercise, for example, can deplete progesterone. Whereas certain types of interval or weight training can assist in progesterone production. Pssst.. these tips not only help with fertility but also with weight management and happiness. You'll Learn: How our hormones change over the course of the cycleThe positive and negative effects of exercise on hormones and fertilityWhat type of exercise is best for which phase of the cycle and whyResearch on exercise and hormonesThanks so much for listening to our podcast!
