Many submissives learn to soften their needs, over-explain, apologize too quickly, or stay quiet in an effort to keep the peace, but those habits often create confusion instead of connection. We talk about how clearer communication can strengthen trust, support leadership, reduce resentment, and help you stay present within your submission without losing yourself in the process. In This Episode:Why communication in submission is often misunderstoodThe difference between submissive performance and intentional speechHow saying “it's fine” when it isn't creates confusionOverexplaining, emotional noise, and why clarity mattersHow honest communication can be a form of service in D/s dynamicsWhy your words should support you as well as the relationshipHow silence can quietly lead to resentment and disconnectionWhy fewer words, chosen well, often carry more weightHow clear speech can strengthen trust, intimacy, and healthy power exchangeKey Reminder:Speaking clearly does not make you less submissive. In many cases, it is one of the most supportive and intentional things you can bring to the dynamic.

I spent years thinking losing fat while building muscle was impossible...and that belief was completely sabotaging me. I was eating less, training harder, and wondering why I never looked as defined as I felt I should. The answer? I was optimizing for weight loss, not recomp. And the scale was lying to me the entire time.In this episode, I'm breaking down exactly why the scale isn't the measure of progress you think it is, what signs to actually look for to know recomp is working, and the four essential things you need to focus on to get the best results as fast as possible. We're covering:Why your body builds muscle before it releases fat...and why that's actually a good signThe real reason you look "skinny fat" even when you're losing weightHow to measure progress when the scale won't budgeWhy I always look at your workouts before your nutritionThe unsexy macros secret that makes high protein diets actually sustainableHow sleep is silently sabotaging your resultsIf you've ever felt like you're doing everything right and still not seeing the definition you want, this one's for you.
In this episode of the Full of Beans Podcast, I'm joined by Professor Hubertus Himmerich, Consultant Psychiatrist and Reader in Eating Disorders at King's College London, and the principal investigator of the EDEN study. The EDEN study is the first study of its kind exploring whether low-dose oral ketamine, compared with placebo, could support people living with both anorexia nervosa and major depressive disorder.Depression affects around 50% of people with anorexia, and when low mood, anxiety and hopelessness are present, it can make recovery feel incredibly difficult. Traditional antidepressants often don't work well for people with anorexia, which is why researchers are exploring new approaches. What We Cover in This EpisodeWhy is depression so common in anorexia nervosaWhy SSRIs often don't work well in this populationThe science behind ketamine and how it affects brain plasticityWhy the EDEN study focuses on improving mood rather than weightHow depression can reduce hope and motivation in recoveryThe difference between medical ketamine treatment and recreational ketamine useHow the study has been shaped by people with lived experienceWhy new treatment approaches needed in the eating disorder fieldIf you're interested in taking part in the EDEN study, the team are currently recruiting participants! Welcome to The Calm & Happy Home Podcast! This week, I'm talking about the Ostrich Effect. The very human habit of burying our heads in the sand and hoping that if we don't look at something, it might just sort itself out.In this episode, I'm sharing how avoidance quietly shows up in our homes, our wardrobes, our drawers and our lives, and the small, gentle steps we can take to finally lift our heads back up.Inside this episode, I'm talking about:What the Ostrich Effect actually is and why we all do itHow your home is a mirror of everything you've been avoidingThe unopened bank statements, the drawer of doom and the wardrobe full of old versions of yourselfWhy avoidance isn't laziness, it's usually overwhelm or emotional weightHow stuck energy in your home is linked to the things you haven't dealt with yetWhy you don't need a big life overhaul, just one small thing at a timeHow March's momentum energy is calling you to gently ease your head out of the sandYou cannot always control what's going on around you. But you can control where you place your attention. So the question becomes, what have you been avoiding?2026 Year of the Horse Energy Planner: https://www.thefengshuiflow.com/2026-plannerYou can buy The Calm and Happy Home now:Amazon | Barnes & Noble | Books-A-Million | Indigo | Watkins Publishing Join the community at somuchlove.com and follow along @somuchlovekimberleySo much love, Kimberley xxA bespoke analysis of your home to unlock the exact remedies your living space needs to support you in a life of more abundance and prosperity: https://www.thefengshuiflow.com/home-analysis-serviceWork with me 1 to 1 here!If you loved this episode don't forget to subscribe, leave a 5* review on Apple Podcasts and tag me in your stories on Instagram @thefengshuiflow! xx Hosted on Acast. In this episode, I share why language has become one of the deepest threads of my life and why I'm so passionate about helping women become aware of the words they use...especially the subtle ones that shrink us.I talk about the filler phrases and apologetic language so many of us use, “just,” “kind of,” “sort of,” “almost”, and how these words aren't random. They are the echoes of conditioning. They are the language of the “good girl,” the appeaser, the woman taught to stay small. This episode is an invitation into awareness. Not shame. Not self-criticism. Awareness.I share my own journey from being a painfully shy child hiding behind my parents, to devouring personal development books in secret, to becoming a speech and language therapist, to now speaking confidently on podcasts and to groups. In this episode, I explore:Why words are not neutral, they carry energetic weightHow apologetic language subtly reinforces self-doubtThe difference between cognitive knowing and embodied confidenceHow awareness alone begins to shift everythingWhy decluttering your language is like decluttering your homeHow we can model empowered communication for the next generationThe link between self-worth, subconscious beliefs, and the words we chooseI also speak about sovereignty. The truth that we get to choose who we are becoming. Our personality is not fixed. Our conditioning is not destiny. When we realise the stories in our minds are often lies… everything becomes possible. This work is not about stifling ourselves or becoming hyper-controlled with language. It's about embodied presence. It's about speaking with clarity and conviction. It's about letting our wisdom land without watering it down. This episode is an invitation to start noticing.Because once you see it, you can't unsee it.And that's where the magic begins.Join Language Alchemy: Speak Your Power into Being Here!26th February Online (Zoom) at 7.30pmIf you'd like to write a love letter to yourself to be opened at a later date then join this gorgeous and expansive Letter Writing Workshop which is now available to be accessed instantly where we do this practice together. Hey friend, it's Amy here — and I'm so excited to bring you today's episode because it's a message straight from my heart. I had the honor of speaking this word at church, and now I'm sharing it here on the podcast because I believe it's a timely encouragement for YOU.We're living in a world full of noise, fear, and uncertainty—but here's what I've learned: when you understand the power of your words, everything changes. Your voice is not just for casual conversation. It's a weapon. It's how you shift atmospheres. It's how you align with Heaven and break off lies from the enemy. In this sermon, I walk through some of the most important lessons I've learned about faith, obedience, and the power of speaking the Word of God out loud—especially in moments where it would be easier to stay silent. I share stories from my own life, the weight of prophetic words spoken over me, and how I had to learn to fight forward, not shrink back.If you've been feeling stuck, weary, or unsure of what God is doing in your life, this message is for you. I pray it breathes courage back into your spirit and reminds you that you are more powerful than you think—especially when you start declaring what God says about you.

Hi friends! Today's topic was inspired by a conversation with a client who's been struggling with body image. She's been setting the intention to feel neutral about her body each day, but those intrusive thoughts keep showing up. And that got me thinking—how often do we try to control how we feel and the get frustrated when that doesn't work? Here's the thing: we can't control our feelings, just like we can't control where we lose weight or how fast we build muscle. But what we can control are our actions—the small, daily things that lead to change over time. I share some strategies my client and I came up with that can help shift the focus from those uncontrollable feelings to actions so you can actually make a difference. In this episode, we'll cover:Why trying to control your feelings might be setting you up for failureThe power of focusing on actions instead of outcomesPractical tips for improving body image without obsessing over weightHow small daily habits can lead to big changes in how you feelThis episode is all about shifting your mindset from obsessing over outcomes to embracing the power of what you can control. Reminder! If you've been considering one-on-one coaching, I'm opening up five spots this fall. Joining the interest list will give you first access to book a consult and $50 discount off the monthly rate. No obligations, this just gives you options. Before the Yummy Mummy Experience (YMX), my client Sierra was like so many of us moms: a very busy woman who just wanted the physical energy to succeed in her career and still be able to play with her kids at the end of the day. But instead, she was too tired for almost anything.Sierra had never really had issues with her weight until she became a mom. 4 kids later, and it was harder and harder to lose weight after every pregnancy. As a pediatrician, Sierra had a full practice of patients which left her trying to energize herself with the snacks and sweet treats that were always around. But her low energy just could not fuel her life. She felt terrible. Not only had she worked so hard to become a physician, but she had always wanted to be a mom, and now she was literally just TOO tired to spend any real time with her kids. She knew something had to change.Sierra did one of my Instagram weight loss challenges and lost 8 pounds in just one month. When she saw those results, she knew she wanted to really commit to YMX and lose weight for the last time. Wait til you hear how Sierra's journey in YMX went!Listen in to learn more about:How losing weight in YMX helped Sierra live her fullest lifeWhy sugar and flour so often mean sabotage when you're trying to lose weightHow thinking about her future self changed the gameSierra's key to unlocking the weight loss codeAnd listen, lady: my calendar is still open for FREE 30-minute coffee chats! New Yummy Mummy Experience client, Carolyn, joined me to get coached about struggling with food cravings, changing her thought patterns, and setting goals with soul.YES, you're going to get so much out of this episode today to help you on your journey!Carolyn is enjoying retirement between the two locales she calls home – California and Idaho – and is DONE struggling with her weight at this phase in her life. She's ready to lose weight for the last time, and that's exactly what she's going to get in YMX. Today's episode is a sneak peek of the work we do in YMX when a Yum Mum faces an obstacle to their weight loss progress, and we dive in to solve it. In Carolyn's case, she was carrying around a specific thought that was creating a feeling of inadequacy:“I don't lose weight easily.”Seems harmless enough on the surface, right? It might even seem like a fact. But the reality is it's a sentence in Carolyn's brain creating the feeling that she's incapable of weight loss. And what does Carolyn (or any of us) want to do when she feels incapable? Give up. We broke down exactly how our thoughts create our actions which then create our RESULTS. To get the results we want, we talked about using thoughts that DO serve us instead of ones that DON'T – no criticism or toxic positivity needed. It's time for a kind weight loss mindset. Listen in and you'll hear more about: Learning from the past versus making it mean we failedThe motivational triad and how that affects our brain when losing weightHow to use the concept of ‘net positive' when making food choicesThe power of baby steps instead of black-or-white thinking AND, if you didn't sign up in time for the January Yummy Mummy Experience, NO WORRIES. Just get on the waitlist for the April 2024 YMX cohort! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
