Ben and Tumaini are back together in Miami, recording during the lengthy rain delay before the men's final--and then a bit afterward--about the happenings on and off court at the Miami Open. Aryna Sabalenka and Jannik Sinner both continued their dominances, completing parallel Sunshine Double sweeps in style. On the women's side, we also discuss Iga Swiatek's decision to part with coach Wim Fissette, and awkward moments in one of Coco Gauff's press conferences. On the men's side, we discuss Arthur Fils' remarkably robust comeback from injury. We also discuss the effort--in the name of the top 10 players--for more monetary support from the majors, as well as parting thoughts on the very unusual Miami Open venue. Thank you for listening! This week Erik and Aidan recap the Miami Masters, the biggest story of the tournament being simply the dominance of Jannik Sinner. Sinner has now won 3 straight Masters 1000 events without dropping a single set. Now, going into the clay season, he is completely on fire. Meanwhile, the surprise run from Jiri Lehecka seemed to be a positive sign for his top 10 ambitions, while Arthur Fils showed that he is fully back from the injury that held him out last year. For some the tournament was a disappointment, while for others it was a great success. Either way, it is a fun episode and be sure to check back next week for the full tournament recap! Jannik Sinner and Aryna Sabalenka win the Sunshine Double, a feat harder than winning a Grand Slam title!Recency bias would have us believe Sinner is now the front-runner for the Year End No.1 battle. Not so fast: Alcaraz is still the champion of three of the last four majors, and clay is his best surface (maybe?)Sabalenka on the other hand, is the dominant factor in the WTA Tour. Rybakina has come close to three big final wins in a row, with a match point at Indian Wells, but Sabalenka took that win, and saw her off in straight sets in Miami. If the current World No.1 continues to win as consistently as she does, it will be hard for Rybakina, or anyone, to dethrone her - but it might get really interesting soon.Other players left their marks, either in a good or bad way: Fonseca, Zverev, Swiatek, Eala are all interesting players to follow during the clay court swing. And, of course, what will Novak Djokovic produce, now at almost 39 years old?

Hall of Fame journalist Steve Flink returns to the podcast to recap the outstanding 2026 Indian Wells tournament, which saw two decorated champions claim their first titles at Tennis Paradise. Flink breaks down how Jannik Sinner handled the opposition and the conditions to win the men's event, and points out just how rock solid the Italian is after facing adversity. The writer also discusses how Daniil Medvedev was able to pull of a massive upset over Carlos Alcaraz, and points out what the key will be for the 2021 US Open champion to return to the top of the game consistently. And Flink reflects on the other highlights from men's side of Indian Wells, which included a coming out party for Joao Fonseca and an ultra impressive win for Jack Draper over Novak Djokovic. Flink also analyzes how Aryna Sabalenka was able to overcome her nemesis Elena Rybakina to win the women's title, in a battle that might go down as the WTA match of the year when the season concludes. The International Hall of Fame member explains why this win was vital for Sabalenka, how these two women have separated themselves from the WTA for the time-being, and why this rivalry reminds him of Bjorn Borg vs. John McEnroe. And the episode concludes with a lookahead to The Miami Open, the second leg of the Sunshine Double and a tournament very different from Indian Wells. Hosted by Mitch Michals. The WTA draw in Miami is out, and there's plenty to unpack. In this episode, we break down the key storylines from the Miami Open draw—from tricky first-round matchups to the big question marks surrounding the top seeds. We start with an intriguing R1 clash between Tjen and Putintseva, a matchup that could bring plenty of contrast in styles and attitude right from the opening round. Then we look at Alexandra Eala's path, with the rising Filipina set to face the winner of Siegemund vs. Marcinko—a fascinating generational matchup that could determine whether Eala gets a crafty veteran or a powerful young opponent in her opener. Of course, the biggest headline surrounds Aryna Sabalenka. After her success in Indian Wells, can she complete the elusive Sunshine Double? We analyze her section of the draw, the potential early threats, and what it would take for her to go back-to-back in the desert and Miami. Finally, we zoom out to examine the overall balance of the draw. Is the top half significantly heavier than the bottom half, and which players might benefit from the distribution? We highlight the dangerous floaters, potential dark horses, and the matches that could shape the tournament before the second week even begins. If you're looking for a quick but detailed preview of the WTA Miami draw, including key matchups, upset alerts, and title contenders, this episode has you covered.
Also, the Sunshine Double has been stretched to a standing Triple, as the Arizona Tennis Classic is very high level. Just ask Annacone, he'll tell you himself!
