Our lucky 13th episode and 3rd installment in the Summer of Cage, is jam packed with Cagetastic goodness. In the 1st half we join Benjamin Franklin Gates as he steals the Declaration of Independence in an effort to decipher a centuries old mystery in hopes of uncovering the lost treasure of the the Free Mason's and in the process clear his family's good name, in John Turteltaub's action adventure film, National Treasure (2004). For our 2nd half we rejoin Benjamin Gates and his cohorts as they once again try to clear their families good name after it is sullied when Mitch (Ed Harris) claims that a member of their family planned the Lincoln assassination, in John Turteltaub's National Treasure sequel Book of Secrets (2007). But that's not all. It is our pleasure to have our very first ever special guest Petros Patsilivas, the creator and voice of Caged In Podcast, joins us as he explains his recent epic Kanye like Twitter rant, tells us what his favorite Nic Cage movie is, who his favorite Nic Cage character is and whom he'd Marry-Fuck-Kill between Red Miller, Castor Troy & Cameron Poe. This is some highbrow shit. It’s our second Cagetastic installment of the SUMMER OF CAGE and boy is it a testosterone filled one. For our 12th episode we explore some of Mr. Cage’s fuel injected flicks with a “Fast & The Furious” themed double feature. Up first is the summer block buster heist movie that inspired aspects of the Grand Theft Auto video game series and had us all exclaiming “Ok, let’s ride” before we went cruising. Nic plays professional car thief, Memphis Rains in Dominic Sena’s Gone In 60 Seconds (2000). On deck in our second feature Nicolas Cage plays John Milton, a criminal hellbent on getting revenge for crimes committed against his family by a Satanic Cult who’ve taken his granddaughter hostage. With the help of a foul mouthed, ass kicking sexpot and her bad ass muscle car they fuck shit up in Patrick Lussier’s action flick Drive Angry (2011). Along the way we also discuss the glaring flaws with Anchor’s app, Joel Schumacher’s death, movie roles Mr. Cage has turned down over the years, stereotypes & cultural appropriation in films and the sexual magnetism of the dead. Welcome to our inaugural SUMMER OF CAGE, a three month theme inspired look back into the Cagetastic film career of the one and only Nicolas cage. For our 11th episode we have a quiet rage character trait themed double feature. First up is the 1990 Palm d'Or winner for Best Picture, an acid laced Wizard of Oz inspired road trip by David Lynch entitled Wild At Heart. Nic plays Sailor, a snake skin jacket clad convict who runs away to LA with his nymphomaniac girlfriend Lula, as they try to escape not only his past but her bat shit crazy mother. Our second film is the gritty independent crime film Joe (2014), directed by David Gordon Green. Mr. Cage plays the unassuming, grizzled foreman of a Texas tree poisoning outfit, who hires and befriends a young pre-teen homeless boy who is desperately trying to keep his poor family afloat and safe from his alcoholic father. Along the way we also discuss the top 5 busiest actors working today, we rate the 5 best and 5 worst movies from our first 10 episodes (20 movies), we get into how fucking difficult it was to find Wild At Heart to watch it, we dive into how big a threat quicksand and exploding cars seemed to be as kids and divulge our theory that Joe Ransom from "Joe" is actually Red Miller post the events of "Mandy". Somehow we've managed to survive the year 2020 long enough to have recorded for you our 10th Cagetastic installment of this podcast. And what better way to celebrate it than with a very Cage like bizarre doppelgänger episode where we explore the same movie, but different edits of it that were released three years apart. Yes, you read that correctly. We will be reviewing the same movie that has two different names, edits and release dates for it. Welcome to the world of the great and eclectic Nicolas Cage. So for your listening pleasure we deep dives into Paul Schrader's espionage thriller Dying Of The Light (2014), that was taken from him after his first cut, and his re-edit Dark (2017). Unlike past episodes where we discuss two different films, this week we simultaneously discuss the same film's two versions and how they are different from one another. Along the way we will also discuss how Mr. Cage was the victim of a bizarre heist of rare and valuable comic books, Tara Reid quite possibly playing Carole Baskin's in his upcoming Tiger King TV Show, the announcement of National Treasure 3 and a National Treasure Disney+ show, as well as the Cleveland Indian's connection to Nic. Another week, another Cagetastic installment. Our 9th to be exact. In this weeks episode we explore two polar opposite films from Mr. Cage's eclectic filmography. First up is Michael Bay's late 90's classic action movie, that helped redefine the genre, The Rock (1996). Nic plays Nathan Goodspeed, a Chemical Weapons Specialist with the FBI, who along side Sean Connery, is tasked with the job of breaking into Alcatraz, defusing a battery of extremely dangerous VX rockets and subduing a platoon of Rogue Marine's lead by Ed Harris, before they can launch these missles on the population of San Francisco. In our second film, The Frozen Ground (2013), director Scott Walker gives us a gritty crime thriller based on the true story of Alaskan serial killer Robert Hansen. Nicolas Cage plays an Alaskan State Trooper on the trail of Robert Hansen, played by John Cusack, after a local prostitute, played by Vanessa Hudgen's, barely escapes from him with her life. Along the way we also will discuss Nic becoming a grandfather again, a possible sequel to Mom And Dad, the epic announcement of Mr. Cage being tapped to play The Tiger King himself in an upcoming TV series, how big of a douche bag Diplo is, the complete lack of a military consultant on The Rock and the crazy amount of breasts on screen in The Frozen Ground. Clips from: Gone in 60 Seconds, Kesha, Mom And Dad, The Tiger King, SNL, The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Deadfall, Mandy, Diplo, AC/DC, David Lee Roth, UFock UK, The Rock, Inner Circle, Aerosmith, Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back, Transformers, Platoon, WWE, LED Zeppelin, GI Joe, Inglorious Basterds, Breaking Bad, Die Hard, East Bound and Down, Joe Dirt, The Frozen Ground, 50 Cent, Hanson, Caleb Jaxin, What The Fuck Broadway Musical, Kristen Kaliko/Tech N9ne, Cinemax After Dark, Rage, Se7en, Coming To America, Howard Johnson’s, Nathan Picard & The Vacancy, The Who & Lord of War.  --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/NobodyPutsNicInACage/message

Welcome to what could be our first ever Cagetastically perfect installment. For our 8th episode we explore two gems from Mr. Cage's ecclectic filmography. First up is Ridley Scott's black comedic crime film Matchstick Men (2003). We find Nic playing a depressed con artist with severe obsessive compulsive disorder, who through a series of events meets his long lost daughter, plans a risky con with his partner Frank and tries to better himself with the help of his new therapist. It's a brilliantly acted, written and directed film that showcases Mr. Cage's true range and talent. In our second film Nic plays a married father of two in the midst of a mid-life crisis in Brian Taylor's dark horror thriller Mom And Dad (2017). One day, for reason's no one can explain, parent's across the world are suddenly compelled to kill their children. This unleashes some of Nic's best moments on film and reminds us of just how good an actress Selma Blair is. Along the way we will discuss the time Nic ate mushrooms with his cat, why he only eats animals that don't have weird sex, the unique stalkers he's had in his life and his eccentric pet purchase. Clips from: Gone in 60 Seconds, Kesha, Serial Mom, Jello Pudding Pops, Late Night with David Letterman, Nine Inch Nails, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Matchstick Men, Oceans 11, The Green Mile, Drag Me To Hell, Frank Sinatra, Johnny Mercer, Rick & Morty, Color Out of Space, Pulp Fiction, Mom And Dad, Crank, Crank High Voltage, Ghost Rider Spirits of Vengeance, Happy, American Pie, Aliens, Dusty Springfield, Timex, Roxette, MacGyver, Erasure, The Who & Lord of War.     --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/NobodyPutsNicInACage/message

First up is the dark crime mystery film that finds Mr. Cage playing a private investigator who has to navigate his way through the seedy underworld of hardcore porn in search of elusive answers to wether or not a snuff film is real, in the Andrew Kevin Walker penned, 8mm (1999). Our second film finds Mr. Cage playing a wealthy businessman who is the victim of a home invasion where members of his family may or may not be involved in Joel Schumacher's last film entitled Trespass (2011). Along the way we'll also discuss Mr. Cage's upcoming films Wally's World & Jui Jitsu, why Andrew Kevin Walker disowned the film, if Nic Cage's character is the worst undercover PI ever, the sexually provocative Magnum Ice Cream Bar commercials on Tubi, and what was the fucking hair brained plot of Trespass. Welcome into our Cagetastic filled 6th episode. For this installment we dip our toes into the more eclectic roles from Mr. Cage's storied career, one's a classic and one not so much. First up is one of the Coen Brother's early masterpieces and the dawn of Nic's acting brilliance, Raising Arizona (1987). This comedic crime film introduces us to the whacky world of the Coen Brother's and one of Mr. Cage's first truly memorable characters, the live action version of Woody Woodpecker, H.I. McDunnough. It was our first real taste of not only his comedic timing and supreme acting chops but also of his stellar narration skills. Our second film finds Mr. Cage having to put the majority of the cast on his back and drag them through this poor man's wannabe David Lynch film entitled Between Worlds (2018). It's a supernatural thriller that allows for Nic to stretch his wings and have some fun with the ridiculous plot and terribly one note cast. However it does give us some of his best one liners, a ridiculous water fight scene and shows us why he doesn't do many sex scenes. Along the way we'll discuss what attracts Mr. Cage to unhinged roles, baby drama on the set of Raising Arizona, why he probably shouldn't ever do sex scenes in movies again and if the Tin Man in fact does have a sheet metal cock. Clip from: Gone In 60 Seconds, Deadfall, Panasonic, The Golden Globes, Iliza Shlesinger Sketch Show, Stephen Paul Taylor, Whitney Houston, Matchstick Men, Leaving Las Vegas, Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call, Color Out of Space, East of Eden, Sympathy, Raising Arizona, Fargo, No Country For Old Men, The Big Lebowski, True Grit, The Apprentice, Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, Field of Dreams, Woody Woodpecker, Remix God Suede, Between Worlds, Falsely Accused, Jimi Hendrix, Con Air, Twin Peaks, USS Indianapolis, 3 From Hell, 31, Jay & Silent Bob Reboot, CBS Nightly News, Nickelback, Lynard Skynard, Richard Cheese, Kid Rock, If/Then Broadway Musical, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Reservoir Dogs, Ghost Rider, The Who & Lord of War.   --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/NobodyPutsNicInACage/message

Welcome to the double stuffed, full Cage Rage, shit show that is our 5th episode. This week we take a deep dive into 2 of Mr. Cage's worse rated films of his storied career according to Rotten Tomatoes. It's our first official double feature episode as we tackle the Eddie King Saga. First up is Deadfall (1993) a neo-noir film about a man who escapes to LA to find his long lost uncle after his father is killed in a con job gone wrong. Nicolas Cage plays hustler Eddie King in his most gonzo and over the top performance of his career. Once again proving that not only does he steal scenes, he fucking owns them. It's easily his most entertaining and enjoyable roles of his career. Our second film finds Nic reprising his role as Eddie King (who must have been resurrected from the dead) in the direct to DVD crime thriller Arsenal (2017). It's a film about two brothers who have the misfortune of crossing paths with Eddie and the lengths they'll go to protect one another. Mr. Cage is not nearly as eccentric as Eddie this time around, however he is still the best part of this movie. Along the way we'll also discuss the 6 best and worse rated movies of Nic's career, what's the proper way to sample cocaine, if Deadfall is in fact the worse movie ever made, what was the real con of both movies and how the fuck is Eddie King still alive? Clips from: Gone in 60 Seconds, Color Out of Space, Crazy Ex Girlfriend, Deadfall, Mandy, Adaptation, Face Off, Moonstruck, Red Rock West, Spiderman into the Spiderverse, Outcast, 211, Arsenal, Growing Pains, Left Behind, Grand Isle, Conair, American Psycho, The Terminator, The Monkees, Snot, The Chet Buchanan Show, Hard to Kill, SNL, Liberty Medical, The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson, Die Hard, Avengers: Infinity War, Entourage, Say Anything, The Godfather Part 3, Biloxi Blues, Dish Network, The Outsider, Once Upon A Time in Hollywood, The Waterboy, Derek Smith & Keith Billik, The Who, Lord of War.1  --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/NobodyPutsNicInACage/message

For our fourth episode we take a look at two films bipolar in tone from one another. The first is an engrossing thriller about gun running that is one of Nic's truly under appreciated and overlooked films, Lord of War (2005). Mr. Cage gives one of his most even-keeled and spot on performances of his career; while also demonstrating his narration chops. In the second film he is joined on screen by the equally talented Willem Dafoe in a bat shit crazy, off-kilter crime thriller called Dog Eat Dog (2016). It is Dafoe who out Cage's Mr. Cage in this bizarre, loosely plotted yet fun wild ride of a movie. What the movie lacks in substance it makes up for in wild dialogue and violent sequences. Along the way we'll discuss Nic's connection to Kesha, why you should never use AirPods to record a podcast remotely, if Nic and Willem have the same acting style and if Mr. Dafoe masturbates in all of his movies. Lovecraft short story, The Color Out of Space (2019). It is a hauntingly beautiful movie that really showcases Mr. Cage's acting range. It gives new meaning to the term "family bonding". Our second film is a true hidden gem. It's a dark comedy/crime film entitled The Trust (2014). It pairs Nic up with Elijah Wood and the two are electric on the screen together. This film has tones of the Coen Brothers, Steven Soderberg and Breaking Bad. Along the way we'll discuss Alpaca milk farming, shitty poster design, Nic's lack of a Funko Pop character, a Richard Stanley & Nic cage Indiana Jones spin off & cock blocking space rocks.
