    C-Suite for Christ Podcast

Play Episode Listen Later Oct 3, 2025 56:20

On this episode of the C-Suite for Christ Podcast, we're calling out the passive faith that's infected the boardroom and the breakroom. Enough with defense. Enough with retreat. Today, we rip the mask off complacency and sound the call to spiritual arms.No celebrities. No soft edges. Just you, me, and the unfiltered Word of God, face-to-face with a world that wants us silenced. The devil's running up the score while the Church sits on defense—but not anymore. We declare it: “The gates of Hell shall not prevail!” (Matthew 16:18). Christ didn't die to keep us safe—He died to send us out. Here's the question: When Hell pushes, will you push back? When the darkness presses in, will you storm forward?Buckle up. This one's raw. Real. Rooted in Truth. Victory is guaranteed—if you'll take the field.Episode Highlights:11:05 - History has taught us this lesson time and time again. Think back to the years leading up to World War II. Adolf Hitler didn't become powerful overnight—he rose step by step because the rest of the world played defense... That's exactly what the Church is doing at this very moment. We think if we keep our heads down, if we stay quiet, if we avoid confrontation, then maybe Satan is going to leave us alone. But the enemy never leaves you alone. The enemy exploits weakness. The enemy feasts on passivity. And the Church's passive defense has created a cultural vacuum that darkness has filled... Defense without offense doesn't hold the line. It gives ground.20:07 - Let's be blunt here. We've raised generations of Christians who are more afraid of offending man than offending God. We've trained pastors to worry more about likes and shares than about souls. We've built entire denominations on the lie that Christianity can be cool, hip, trendy and unoffensive. And in doing so, we've stripped the gospel of its power.45:12 - When we go on offense as Christians, victory is not a possibility, it's guaranteed. Jesus himself said in John 16:33, "In this world you will have trouble. But take heart, I have overcome the world.'" Notice that—he doesn't say I might overcome. He declares, "I have overcome." Past tense. Already accomplished. The victory is secure. That means when we storm the gates of Hell, we're not charging into a battle with an uncertain outcome.Connect with Paul M. Xeno Legendium Islamic Folklore The Tales of Al-Araf Divine Border Between Jahannam Hellfire & Jannah Paradiseby Xeno Legendium & Muhammad Hamzah Sakura RyukiIn the time beyond time, when the Reckoning had concluded and the scales of deeds were weighed with precision, a group of souls found themselves neither among the rejoicing in Paradise nor the regretful in Hellfire. They stood upon an elevated realm — the A'rāf, the Heights. This station, described in The Noble Qur'an (Surah Al-A'rāf, 7:46–49), was neither a reward nor a punishment, but a pause between two eternal destinies. From this vantage, they could see both realms: the radiant gardens of Paradise on one side, and the blazing torment of Hell on the other. They recognized the people of both camps, calling out to those destined for Jannah Paradise with words of peace, and turning away in dread from those suffering in Jahannam Hellfire. The scholars of old explained that the People of Al-A'rāf were those whose deeds were evenly balanced— their good not quite enough to admit them into Paradise, their evil not enough to condemn them to Hell. Some narrations added that they were people who had fought in jihad but disobeyed their parents, or those who died before the message of Islam reached them in full. While not authenticated in the sayings of the Prophet ﷺ directly, the companions such as Ibn Abbas and Qatadah passed down deep insights about them. These souls waited, humbled and hopeful, their eyes fixed on the Mercy of Allah SWT. They would not remain forever on the Heights. One day, they would hear the call of their Lord: "Enter Jannah Paradise. No fear will there be upon you, nor will you grieve" (The Qur'an 7:49). But before that final moment came, their story — of faith, suspense, and Divine justice — would unfold.

On March 25, 2004, 21-year-old Jennifer Wix was in crisis. Jennifer lived in Robertson County, Tennessee and was a single mother to her two-year-old daughter, Adrianna, who she adored. She and Adrianna had moved in with her boyfriend, William Joseph “Joey” Benton, and his parents, Cynthia and Franklin Joseph Benton, a few months before in December. But the situation at home was volatile - Before moving in with Joey’s family, Jennifer lived with her mother, Kathy Nale, and her younger half-sister, Casey Wix. Casey told us that Jennifer had been calling home and complaining that she wasn’t getting along with certain members of Joey’s family. So even though they were only hearing Jennifer’s side of the story, Casey and Jennifer’s mom were forming an impression of Joey, based on what Jennifer told them, that wasn’t great. Over the months, Casey says that the situation at the Benton home had become increasingly strained. Then on March 25, something happened. At some point during the day, Joey got a call at work and left suddenly, saying that he was going to deal with a situation at home. He told police that he picked up Jennifer and Adriana at home and that they went for a drive. During that drive, Joey claimed that he and Jennifer decided to end their relationship. After that, Joey told police that he stopped at a grocery store so that Jennifer could use the phone, and then he drove her and Adriana to a nearby gas station in Cross Plains. Joey said at that gas station, which he said was in Cross Plains, a town a few minutes away, Jennifer and Adrianna got into a vehicle, which he described as a white four door sedan. The two were never seen again. But from the beginning Jennifer’s family was suspicious of this story. They say that they don’t believe that a young mom with a toddler would leave without any of her things and without ever calling her family. Also, they pointed out that Jennifer could have stayed with multiple family members who lived in the area. Why drive off with someone else? It’s been almost 20 years, and those years have been filled with rumors, several searches of a property, shifting stories about what really happened that day, a wrongful death lawsuit, and most recently, a severed body part connected to a family member were found in a creek. And yet no one has found any trace of Jennifer Wix or her daughter Adrianna. If you have a case you’d like Catherine Townsend to look into, you can reach out to the Hell and Gone Murder Line at 678-744-6145. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Nicky and Eric rip and tear their way back into Doom, this time playing the 2016 reboot of the series. Doom is a 2016 first-person shooter developed by id Software and published by Bethesda. The game is the first major installment in the Doom series since 2004's Doom 3 and is a reboot of the franchise. It was released for PlayStation 4, Windows, and Xbox One in May 2016. Players take the role of a space marine, known colloquially as the Doom Slayer, as he battles demonic forces within an energy-mining facility on Mars and in Hell. Press Any Button hosts Nicky (a new gamer) and Eric (a lifetime gamer) are a married couple who both love video games. For every video game they will discuss its past (history of the game, developers story, and fun facts), present (game play, game review and strategy), and future (will there be a sequel?? A movie?)  BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE… Every game also comes with a challenge presented by the host that chose the game. If the challenge is not completed then whoever failed has to do a video game rap! So if you want to learn more about video games, hear some nerdy video game raps, or just have a good time this is the podcast for you. Nagasaki: The Last Witnesses (Penguin Random House, 2025) is the second volume in a prize-worthy two-book series based on years of irreplicable personal interviews with survivors about each of the atomic bomb drops, first in Hiroshima and then Nagasaki, that hastened the end of the Pacific War. On August 6, 1945, the United States unleashed a weapon unlike anything the world had ever seen. Then, just three days later, when Japan showed no sign of surrender, the United States took aim at Nagasaki.Rendered in harrowing detail, this historical narrative is the second and final volume in M. G. Sheftall's series Embers. Sheftall has spent years personally interviewing hibakusha—the Japanese word for atomic bomb survivors. These last living witnesses are a vanishing memory resource, the only people who can still provide us with reliable and detailed testimony about life in their cities before the use of nuclear weaponry. The result is an intimate, firsthand account of life in Nagasaki, and the story of incomprehensible devastation and resilience in the aftermath of the second atomic bomb drop. This blow-by-blow account takes us from the city streets, as word of the attack on Hiroshima reaches civilians, to the cockpit of Bockscar, when Charles Sweeney dropped “Fat Man,” to the interminable six days while the world waited to see if Japan would surrender to the Allies–or if more bombs would fall. Related Genres: Asian World History, 1950 – Present Military History, World War II Military History Praise for M.G. As poignant as it is powerful, this gripping narrative chronicles one of history's darkest nightmare moments—the atomic bombing of Hiroshima in August 1945—and the memories of its surviving eyewitnesses. As the events fade from living memory, Hiroshima is at once a brilliant tribute and a cautionary tale.”—Annie Jacobsen, author of Nuclear War: A Scenario“An important, deep-dive book into most every detail about the atomic bomb's making and use, in anger. A strong argument for why it must never be allowed to be used for any reason whatsoever. This book adds significantly to the argument that we need to back up fast and return to nuclear arms reduction.”—Charles Pellegrino, author of To Hell and Back: The Last Train from Hiroshima“M.G. Sheftall takes us on a deep dive into one of the most significant and horrific events in world history. Hiroshima is a gripping, moving story of fear and shame, courage and grace, and a powerful argument that we should never, ever use these weapons again.”—Evan Thomas, author of Road to Surrender: Three Men and the Countdown to the End of World War II“A compelling analysis of the suffering endured by the citizens of Hiroshima in the aftermath of the dropping of the nuclear bomb on 6 August 1945. Written by a scholar who lives and works in Japan, and who has interviewed many of the last survivors, this is a book that offers valuable insights into Japanese thinking during the war and the subsequent struggle to rebuild the country.”—Laurence Rees, author of Auschwitz and The Holocaust Learn more about your ad choices. Brian, a former evangelical pastor, takes us inside his journey of questioning one of Christianity's most entrenched doctrines — the idea of eternal damnation. He argues that the fear of hell has distorted Christian faith, fostering shame, exclusion, and toxic relationships, and he invites us to imagine a different path: a spirituality grounded in love, connection, and justice. We talk about what it means to reframe salvation, how to let go of fear-based religion, and why the way of Jesus still matters — not because of hell, but because of love.

This week we're descending into The Prophecy (1995), the cult supernatural thriller where angels aren't exactly playing harps. Christopher Walken commands the screen as Gabriel—less a messenger of God, more a celestial hitman with a serious grudge. As a second war brews in Heaven, a soul too dark for Hell becomes the battlefield, and humanity hangs in the balance. With Elias Koteas as the weary detective caught in the middle and Viggo Mortensen showing up as one of the creepiest Lucifers ever put to film, it's scripture meets horror with a side of Walken weird. We're flipping through the Book of Revelation and asking: what if the angels are the real problem?

They discuss how to approach difficult or unclear scriptures, the significance of Christ's once-for-all sacrifice, and the meaning behind Jesus' descent to the dead. The conversation explores historical interpretations, the Old Testament context, and the importance of the resurrection and ascension. In this powerful episode of the Mike Drop Podcast, Mike sits down with Zach Skow, founder of Marley's Mutts and the Positive Change prison-dog program. What begins with the chaos of evacuating nearly 300 animals during the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan unfolds into Zach's raw story of addiction, survival, and redemption. From a troubled childhood to end-stage liver failure at 28, Zach was given 90 days to live. Saved by his bond with dogs, he rebuilt his life through sobriety, whole foods, and purpose. His recovery sparked Marley's Mutts, a movement that rescues animals, transforms prisons, and helped Kern County achieve no-kill status. Together, Mike and Zach tackle the shelter crisis, breeding pitfalls, and the power of community education. Vulnerable, unflinching, and inspiring, this episode is a testament to second chances and leading with purpose. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

Forget sanitized speeches—this is a raw breakdown of why GWOT veterans accepted the chaos, why today's force feels distracted, and why the next generation better wake up before it's too late. He rips into leadership theater (PT tests for generals, anyone?), clown-world bureaucracy (pay offices closed for frisbee), and the creeping comfort culture that turned Kandahar into a Pizza Hut outpost. Aaron lays out what a real culture shift looks like—back to lethality, back to standards, and back to caring about the mission and each other. As I record this episode, we are on the edge — maybe already over it, by the time you read this — of a government shutdown. And I want to give you a bit of the behind-the-scenes intel I picked up that helps explain how we got here. According to one of my sources on the Hill (a Republican, for the record), the read is that Chuck Schumer is locked in. He's in a “dark place,” unwilling to budge, and if anything's going to change, it'll come from other Democrats. That's been the drumbeat here: Schumer can't blink. If he does, he opens himself up to a leadership challenge. And that's the one thing a Senate leader absolutely cannot do.The Democrats are trying to pitch the shutdown as a way to stand up for healthcare — that's the messaging. But the problem is that if the government shuts down, there are a lot of healthcare extensions and services that begin to expire immediately. I read off a list of them: community health centers, Medicare adjustments, ambulance payment programs, disaster medical systems — the works. The irony is that the parts Democrats hate the most about the Trump administration don't shut down. ICE doesn't go anywhere. Deportations still happen. Those are essential — and Trump's people decide what counts as essential.Politics Politics Politics is a reader-supported publication. To receive new posts and support my work, consider becoming a free or paid subscriber. The fight, according to Democrats, is over Obamacare subsidies and Medicaid cuts in the One Big Beautiful Bill. But those cuts don't even kick in until after the midterms. Meanwhile, essential Democratic priorities lose funding the moment the lights go out. And that's the trap. They're betting that Trump wants to make a deal — that he wants to look like a bipartisan dealmaker. Maybe they believe they can spin this into a win. But let's remember what happened the last time Trump tried that in 2018: he got nothing. If they're hoping for Trump to ride in and rescue them, that's a risky game. The GOP Senate and House leaders — Thune and Johnson — are more than happy to let this ride. Hell, there are people in that party who love a shutdown. It's a stress test for them, a chance to see what happens when the government turns off. And the data doesn't look good for Democrats. A New York Times/Siena poll had just 27% of all respondents — and only a slim plurality of Democrats — supporting the idea of a shutdown if demands aren't met. That's a brutal place to be when you're the one pulling the trigger. So here we are: Schumer boxed in, the party divided, and the shutdown clock striking midnight. Maybe there's a backdoor deal. Maybe Trump throws them a rope. But right now? The only guaranteed outcome is pain.Chapters00:00:00 - Intro00:01:41 - Shutdown00:08:42 - Interview with Evan Scrimshaw00:30:33 - Update00:31:21 - Hegseth's Meeting00:34:42 - Schweikert for Gov00:36:09 - NYT Polling on Shutdown00:37:06 - Interview with Evan Scrimshaw (con't)01:15:30 - Wrap-up This is a public episode.
