Kill Bill was originally intended to be one movie and after many years of speculation, the film was finally given a wide release with the title Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair. This is one of Kevin's all-time favorites, and he was able to catch the nearly five-hour presentation during its limited release last month. Danny gave Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 rewatches, so Kevin filled him in on the changes made for this release. The two reminisce over this classic, which is driven by a perfect performance by Uma Thurman and the brilliant imagination of the most annoying human being on earth, Quentin Tarantino. Nathan and Ryan sharpen their Hattori Hanzō swords and dive into Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair, Quentin Tarantino's elusive, fully assembled vision of his two-part revenge epic. Combining Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 into a single, blood-soaked experience—with altered edits, restored scenes, and extended carnage—the hosts break down how the film plays as one continuous saga. They discuss its genre-hopping insanity, anime violence, spaghetti western soul, and whether this version truly stands as Tarantino's definitive cut. It's operatic revenge, pop-culture maximalism, and arterial spray at its finest.

It's that time of year again—when we gather by the fire, sip something warm, and queue up… movies that *technically* take place at Christmas. This week, we're unwrapping two not-quite-but-definitely-set-during-the-holidays classics: Stanley Kubrick's eerie yuletide odyssey Eyes Wide Shut (1999) and Steven Spielberg's breezy cat-and-mouse charmer Catch Me If You Can (2002). While neither film is exactly “festive,” both use the holiday season to cast their stories in a glow equal parts melancholic and mischievous. Before diving into our gift-wrap-adjacent double feature, our Blue Plate Special is packed with plenty of cinematic goodies waiting under the tree. We break down the eyebrow-raising possibility of Warner Bros. being sold to either Netflix or Paramount/Skydance—and what such a shake-up could mean for the future of the film industry. We also share our thoughts on several recent releases we've caught (Sentimental Value, The History of Sound, Jay Kelly, and Pavements), react to Quentin Tarantino's recent comments about Paul Dano and 21st-century cinema, relive our theatrical experience seeing Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair, and pay tribute to the recent losses of Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa, Jim Ward, Jeff Garcia, Peter Greene, and the legendary Rob Reiner. Usually when you stuff too many genres into a movie, you come out with a bloated, overstuffed, pretentious turkey of a movie, but not with “Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair.” In it we get westerns, anime/manga, Kung-Fu action, exploitation movie and a pulpy bloody mess but it all fits into a 4 hour 35 minute mammoth movie, In 2003, “Kill Bill: Vol 1” was released followed by “Kill Bill: Vol. 2” in 2004 as Quentin Tarantino's 4th and 5th movies. “Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair” combines those two movies together along with some extra footage. A simple plot explanation is The Bride must kill her ex-boss and lover Bill who betrayed her at her wedding rehearsal, shot her in the head and took away her unborn daughter. But first, she must make the other four members of the Deadly Viper Assassination Squad suffer. Is it worth going to the theater to see this for the extra footage, or if you haven't seen it, to see everything in this? Check out this episode to find out. “Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair” stars Uma Thurman, David Carradine, Lucy Liu, Vivica A. Fox, Michael Madsen, Daryl Hannah, Julie Dreyfus, Chiaki Kuriyama, Sonny Chiba, Gordon Liu, Michael Parks, Michael Bowen, Jun Kunimura, Kenji Oba, Yuki Kazamatsuri, James Parks, Sakichi Sato and Jonathan Loughran. Support the showFeel free to reach out to me via:@MoviesMerica on Twitter @moviesmerica on InstagramMovies Merica on Facebook
