And to celebrate the J.G. decided to dig up an interview that was previously unreleased related to holiday. In 1981, George Mihalka's Canadian slasher My Bloody Valentine hit theaters. In the years since it has become a cult classic, enough so, in fact, to get a Hollywood remake in 2009 directed by Wes Craven protege Patrick Lussier & starring heartthrob Jensen Ackles from the hit TV show Supernatural. The original movie, in which a town known as Valentine Bluffs experiences a series of murders seemingly committed by a vengeful, deranged miner known as Harry Warden, has never received a proper sequel. Fans of the movie, however, came together to get a professionally done, feature-length fan sequel. It's called Valentine Bluffs: A My Bloody Valentine Fan Film and even features a guest starring performance from Troma's Lloyd Kaufman as the Mayor of Valentine Bluffs. It features all the bloody mayhem one would expect from a sequel to My Bloody Valentine, and, best of all for fans of 80s horror, features lovingly made practical effects rather than CGI. In this previously unreleased interview, I speak with director and special effects artist Tom Smith and lead actress Rachel Keefe about Valentine Bluffs: A My Bloody Valentine Fan Film in-depth! You can view the fan film for free on Youtube at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RIIOv49awUU. Near the end of the conversation Rachel talks about her upcoming role in Joe Lam's horror movie The Fetus. As it turns out, The Fetus is set to be released next month, March 2025, and, in addition to Rachel Keefe, stars Terrifier 2 and Terrifier 3's Lauren LaVera as well as genre stalwart Bill Moseley from Rob Zombie's House of 1000 Corpses, The Devil's Rejects, and Tobe Hooper's The Texas Chainsaw Massacre! All that and more on this edition of Parallax Views!

Ever found yourself chuckling and shrieking in equal measure during a horror movie? That's exactly what happened when Ana & Jimmy plunged back into the blood-drenched corridors of the 2009 slasher hit "My Bloody Valentine 3D." Join them as they reminisce about the film's notorious 3D effects, which had them wishing they were ducking pickaxes that seemed to want to fly right off the screen. From the star-studded cast, featuring talents like Jensen Ackles and Jamie King, to Patrick Lussier's directional chops, they unpack the elements that made this film a gore-filled roller coaster ride. Then, they talk about the gorilla in the room – or should we say, the gratuitous nudity? They're slicing through the film's more contentious choices, debating the impact of horror tropes on gender portrayal while sharing laughs over the industry's 3D gimmicks. The film's cultural reception gets a thorough examination, as they weigh the critics' eye rolls against the audience's giddy scares. The discussion even gets heated as the film's infamous Valentine's Day massacre, but they promise it's all in good fun.For the grand finale, they don't hold back on their thoughts about the narrative's suspenseful twists and the reveal that made one rethink everything they thought they knew. They dissect the backstory of Harry Warden's rampage and the suspenseful uncertainty that blankets the town. And of course, they couldn't wrap up without debating the film's legacy – was it a horror gem or a one-hit-wonder that never saw a sequel? So, if you're looking for a heart-pounding adventure with a side of nostalgia, you've struck blood, or er-gold, with this episode.Do You Remember Liking This Movie?

(soundcloud.com / andoryukesuta)@andoryukesuta My Bloody Valentine 3D In the mining town of Harmony, a drilling accident is caused by the son of the owner, Tom Hanniger. The mine collapses, burying six miners alive. The rescue team finds only Harry Warden alive, but in coma, and the other miners murdered by his pickax, and they conclude that Harry killed them to save oxygen for himself. On Valentine's Day, Harry awakes from his coma in the local hospital, and he kills twenty-two people, including a group of teenagers that are partying in the mine. Harry is killed by the deputy, but the only survivors are Tom Hanniger, his girlfriend Sarah, their friend Axel Palmer and his girlfriend Irene. Ten years later, Tom returns to Harmony after the death of his father. Tom has decided to sell the Hanniger Mine, and finds that Sarah has married Axel, who is now the local sheriff, and they have a son named Noah. On Valentine's Day, Harry Warden also returns, seeking revenge against those that had escaped his pickax in the past, and Tom is accused by Axel and other locals, who in turn makes accusations against Axel. My Bloody Valentine 3D is a 2009 American slasher film directed and co-edited by Patrick Lussier, and written by Todd Farmer and Zane Smith from a screen story by Stephen Miller (producer and co-writer of the original film). Serving as a remake of the 1981 Canadian slasher film of the same name, it stars Jensen Ackles, Jaime King, Kerr Smith, Tom Atkins, and Kevin Tighe. The film focuses on the residents of a small town that is plagued by a serial killer in mining gear on Valentine's Day. After filming on location in Pennsylvania, the film was given a 3D theatrical release in the United States by Lionsgate. It was the first R-rated film to be projected in RealD technology and to have a wide release (1,000 locations) in 3D-enabled theaters. My Bloody Valentine 3D was released in the United States on January 16, 2009, by Lionsgate. The film grossed $100.7 million worldwide on a budget of $14 million and received mixed-to-positive reviews from critics, who praised its performances and production values, but some critics found it to be "formulaic" and "generic", criticizing its screenplay, the wooden characters and the 3-D technology. On Valentine's Day 1997, six miners are trapped underground by an explosion at the Hanniger mine in the small mining community of Harmony. By the time rescuers reach the miners, they find only comatose Harry Warden still alive. Further investigation reveals that Warden killed the other miners to conserve oxygen. Tom Hanniger, son of the mine's owner, is blamed for the explosion as he forgot to vent the methane lines that caused the collapse. One year later, Warden has awakened from his coma and is now murdering as an act of revenge. He starts by killing numerous patients and staff at the hospital where he was a patient, leaving a victim's heart in a box of chocolates. While Tom, his girlfriend Sarah, their friends Irene and Axel, and other teenagers party inside the mine, Warden – wearing mining gear and a gas mask – attacks them with a pickaxe. Sarah, Irene, and Axel escape but Tom is left behind with Warden. Sheriff Burke arrives and shoots Warden before he can kill the severely traumatized Tom, but Warden staggers away deeper into the mine.

Welcome to Act 3! In this special Patreon-exclusive bonus episode, we're talking about the amazing “requel,” Scream (2022) from Paramount Pictures, which was shot in Wilmington, NC and yes that is why these One Tree Hill podcasters are covering it and celebrating 25 years of the Scream franchise! Twenty-five years after a streak of brutal murders shocked the quiet town of Woodsboro, Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell), Gale Weathers (Courteney Cox), and Dewey Riley (David Arquette) ended Billy Loomis' (Skeet Ulrich, who returned in this movie! Ahhh!) and Stu Macher's reign as Ghostface. But now a new killer dons the Ghostface mask and stalks both the legacy characters and a new young cast, featuring the talents of Sonia Ammar, Melissa Barrera, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Mason Gooding, Mikey Madison, Dylan Minnette, Jenna Ortega, and Jack Quaid. During our discussion, we go over requel rules (Why not just call it Scream 5? Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett are not fooling anyone.), Gale's subtle and nuanced character development, Dewey's death (and why we're both mad about it for different reasons), the unfortunate plot holes (we all know time has no meaning in Tree Hill and it has no meaning in Woodsboro either), why Kyle Gallner deserves more work, our crush on Jack Quaid, the triumphant returns of lesser-known legacy characters Judy Hicks (Marley Shelton) and Martha Meeks (Heather Matarazzo), the tribute to Wes Craven (“For Wes”), the welcome return of “Red Right Hand” by Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, and all of the Scream Easter eggs littered throughout. Also, who has a cameo in Scream (2022)? We point out the secret cameos from old friends Drew Barrymore, Jamie Kennedy, Matthew Lillard, Adam Brody, Kevin Williamson, Marco Beltrami, Patrick Lussier, Julie Plec and Wes Craven's widow, Iya. Plus, are Tara and Amber together? The original casting call made it seem that way and we dive into what could have been. And in lieu of a favorite musical moment, you will hear us talk about our favorite death scenes. Plus, we talk about our relationships to horror movies (surprise! We both love horror!) and give shoutouts to The Ring, The Blair Witch Project, Hereditary, Midsommar, The Babadook, It Follows, Jordan Peele films, Halloween, Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday the 13th, Valentine, and Scream 4 (and its need for justice!). Todd has written such horror films as "Jason X", "My Bloody Valentine 3D", "Drive Angry", screenplays for a "Halloween 3D" & "Hellraiser" reboot for Miramax / Dimension Films, the comic book "Alien Pig Farm 3000" with "Punisher" star Thomas Jane, and much, much more! After a few years of having to put his first love aside to work at Fed Ex & a car dealership, Todd was able to fight his way back to screenwriting! Very inspiring, so much so that he decided to write an article about the whole situation, warts & all, and was met with quite a bit of feedback! Third time's the charm for returning guest (and video essayist extraordinaire) Patrick H. Willems, as we strap ourselves into the driver's seat for a pair of gonzo Cage-rage drivin' devil movies! First up is Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance, the Neveldine/Taylor-directed sequel to the 2000s adaptation of the Marvel comic character, with Cage reprising his role as cursed cyclist Johnny Blaze. This time, he's scraping at the door in Romania, going full Terminator 2 as he keeps the Devil (a scowling Ciaran Hinds) away from his kid. Meanwhile, Neveldine and Taylor do their Crank thing to mixed results, and Idris Elba is completely wasted as a French motorcycle priest(?) obsessed with helping the good guys. Then, we shift gears to Patrick Lussier's Drive Angry 3-D, a faux-grindhouse pastiche filled with more lolrandom epic bacon humor and random CG objects popping out at the screen than you could imagine. Still, it's got a lowbrow charm to it, and William Fichtner somehow out-acts Cage as a smarmy Accountant from the underworld who's chasing Cage's hell-escapee grandpa and his sexy waitress sidekick (Amber Heard). On this edition of Parallax Views, we've got a monster-sized treat of an episode to help you get in the spirit of the spooky season as Halloween approaches. Have you ever wondered about the movie magic that's employed to make some of your favorite horror movies? What are the behind-the-scenes secrets of special effects (SFX) and make-up effects (MUFX) in such frightful franchises as HELLRAISER, HALLOWEEN, CANDYMAN, BLADE, MY BLOODY VALENTINE, FEAST, THE EXORCIST, PUMKPKINHEAD, and PIRANHA? Joining us to shed light on that is a legend of the special make-up effects world and a true maestro of the macabre: Gary J. Tunnicliffe. He's worked on all the above-named properties and much more designing iconic kills and monsters in a massive slew of cinematic scarefests over the years and has many stories to tell in this previously unpublished conversation that run over 2+ hours and, hopefully, is a fascinating, rollicking ride throughout. Gary and I discuss how he got into make-up effects, applying make-up effects on Doug Bradley to bring to life the character of Pinhead in the Hellraiser movies, the trials and tribulations of applying make-up to actors for hours at a time, creating the climatic effects for Stephen Dorff's demise in BLADE, a gross-out story from Gary's puppeteering work on PIRANHA 3DD, designing kills in movies like HALLOWEEN: THE CURSE OF MICHAEL MYERS (and being brought in for reshoots on already complete movies like the aforementioned film), CGI and deep fakes, designing creatures like PUMPKINHEAD and the cenobite Angelique in HELLRAISER: BLOODLINE, working for colorful producer Bob Weinstein at Dimension Films, the making of a grisly, gory kill in Patrick Lussier's MY BLOODY VALENTINE 3D, Gary's work on Renny Harlin's EXORCIST: THE BEGINNING, Gary's interpretation of Clive Barker's HELLRAISER, working with David Fincher on GONE GIRL, putting bees on actor Tony Todd in one of the CANDYMAN movies, and much, much more!
Cable & Angus have the honour of chatting with Hollywood director & editor extraordinaire, Patrick Lussier. We focus on Scream 2 but venture all over Patrick's career, looking at Wes Craven, the Scream franchise, Halloween H2O, Trick and much more!

Ah, la joie des colos de vacances d’antan, où ados et monos se faisaient allègrement débiter en tranches par un psychopathe masqué. So last week got us so pumped up for late 2000s 3D cinema and the works of Patrick Lussier and Todd Farmer that we just had to follow up with 2011’s Drive Angry. Of course this film boasts the incomparable talents of Nicolas Cage, but there’s a lot else to like: a no-nonsense demon, violent 3D dismemberments, huge explosions, a combination gunfight/sex scene, and pod favorite Tom Atkins. And Todd even gets naked again. What more could you ask for? Hop in the car with us, and let’s Drive Angry! Follow us on Twitter! (@buzzedonmovies) We are running a Shots for Retweets promotion wherein we'll dedicate a shot to you on a future episode if you retweet this one! Parallax Views initiates the #HalloweenPodcastMassacre, a series of episodes devoted to celebrating the Halloween season, by highlighting the brand new horror movie The Good Things Devils Do, a wild ride of gory vampire hijinks set appropriately on All Hallows' Eve, with the film's director Jess Norvisgaard and director of photography James Suttles. Boasting a a cast headlined by a trio of horror icons in the form of the Emmy Award and Lon Chaney Award-winning Bill Oberst Jr., scream queen Linnea Quigley, and the Friday the 13th franchise's Kane Hodder (aka the man behind the hockey mask of the machete wielding maniac Jason Voorhees!), follows in the footsteps of such fright flicks set on or around October 31st as James Roday's Gravy (2015), Patrick Lussier's Trick (2019), the anthology of terror Tales of Halloween (2015), and Michael Doughtery's Trick 'r Treat (2007) in vying to become a cult classic regarded as annual viewing for the spooky season. Taking its cues from such ghoulishly gory fear features as Kevin S. Tenney's Night of the Demons (1988), David DeCoteau's Witchhouse, and Dan O'Bannon's The Return of the Living Dead (1985), The Good Things Devils Do offers up a mix of wicked dark humor and dark humor. At the same time, however, Norvisgaard's first feature length effort may offer a bit more than just blood-soaked gore and B-movie camp thanks to some truly emotion-stirring moments that conjure chills, thrills, and maybe even a sincere tear or two. Provided below is a trailer for The Good Things Devils Do and a plot synopsis by the director himself, Jess Norvisgaard: Richard, a small-time gangster is retiring. Before he can, he must take one last job: to steal money from a rival gangster's house. Miles apart, Melvin is a reluctant family man who has dreams of becoming a famous curator for his Museum of the Macabre. His newest acquisition? The remains of the notorious Masquerade, a vampire born from the embers of hell, slain centuries ago. On Halloween Night, their paths will collide and they'll be forced to work together to fight centuries-old evil with everything on the line. Welcome to the first week of 3D month, baby! Prepare yourself for a month of garbage. This week watched My Bloody Valentine 3D, a movie with such unlikable characters, we found ourselves rooting for the murderer. We talk Jen’s love of the Miracle on Ice, creepy sex houses, and getting photos developed after the murders of a number of your friends. Remember to rate and subscribe, or we’ll eat your Valentine’s candy. Stats/info: 2009, directed by Patrick Lussier, starring Jensen Ackles, Jaime King, Kerr Smith, and Kevin Tighe. It’s our second Cagetastic installment of the SUMMER OF CAGE and boy is it a testosterone filled one. For our 12th episode we explore some of Mr. Cage’s fuel injected flicks with a “Fast & The Furious” themed double feature. Up first is the summer block buster heist movie that inspired aspects of the Grand Theft Auto video game series and had us all exclaiming “Ok, let’s ride” before we went cruising. Nic plays professional car thief, Memphis Rains in Dominic Sena’s Gone In 60 Seconds (2000). On deck in our second feature Nicolas Cage plays John Milton, a criminal hellbent on getting revenge for crimes committed against his family by a Satanic Cult who’ve taken his granddaughter hostage. With the help of a foul mouthed, ass kicking sexpot and her bad ass muscle car they fuck shit up in Patrick Lussier’s action flick Drive Angry (2011). Along the way we also discuss the glaring flaws with Anchor’s app, Joel Schumacher’s death, movie roles Mr. Cage has turned down over the years, stereotypes & cultural appropriation in films and the sexual magnetism of the dead. Clips from: Gone In 60 Seconds, Deadfall, Kesha, Sopranos, Return of the King, Daylight, The Matrix, Bill & Ted 3, Shrek, SNL, Inglorious Basterds, Bohemian Rhapsody, Dumb & Dumber, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, The Wrestler, Green Hornet, Crank, The Frozen Ground, Pulp Fiction, Natural Born Killers, Dr. Who, Alanis Morissette, Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, GI Joe, Snatch, Parks and Recreation, Rick & Morty, Master P, GTA V, Donnie Darko, Friday After Next, Drive Angry, Dracula 2000, Pirates of the Caribbean, Big Daddy, Grumpy Old Men, Styx, DJ Suede the Remix God, Taylor Swift, Guns N’ Roses, WWE, Nickelback, Twilight, Preacher, Bo Jack Horseman, Elf, The Kingsman, The Who, Dogma & Lord of War. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/NobodyPutsNicInACage/message

Welcome....to the graveyard. The gates to the Graveyard Show Podcast (2009-2010) have reopened, and I thought (a decade later) it was time to start revisiting many of my interviews from that time with an updated introduction and close to each of these new "Tombstone Editions". My first tombstone being placed in my newly renovated graveyard is with director Patrick Lussier, and he came on my show to discuss his film My Bloody Valentine 3-D. We talked about what it was like shooting in the 3-D process, the making of the film, and working as Wes Craven's editor among other things. There will be many more of these Tombstone Editions to come, including an interview with someone from a famous horror film that has never been heard since the show went away in 2010. You can find the Graveyard Show Podcast on iTunes, Spotify, Anchor, Podomatic, and YouTube. And as you exit the graveyard I would like to remind you to please...lock the gate behind you...we wouldn't want anyone to get out. Until next time...
CATCHING UP ON CAGE finally comes to it's conclusion as Trevor and Kyle catch up on Patrick Lussier's grindhouse crap fest, Drive Angry (2011)! Escaping from the bowels of Hell in a souped up muscle car, the plot follows Nic Cage and Amber Heard as they battle a cult and match wits with a scene-stealing William Fichtner. Bullshit cinematography meant to enhance the 3D experience! Slow-motion sex gunfights! William Fichtner delivering every line with laser precision and expert comedic timing! Amber Heard throwing some of the ugliest punches ever committed to film! Billy Burke disapproving of his daughter's request to go to burning man, Vin Diesel serving as corporate spokesman for Muscle Milk, and many other, dumber tangents!
Hear the story behind the classic horror film from director George Mihalka and the remake by Patrick Lussier and Todd Farmer.

The Vampyre (John William Polidori)The Skeleton Court, or The Vampire Mistress (Elizabeth Caroline Grey) Varney the Vampire (James Malcolm Rymer) Carmilla (Sheridan LeFanu) Drácula (Bram Stoker)Vampire of the CoastThe Vampire (Robert Vignola) Nosferatu, una sinfonía de horror (F. It's that time again. February. Love is in the air. Declarations of peoples feelings happen in the form of flowers, cards, and boxes filled with internal organs. Welcome to Valentine Bluffs (1981) and Harmony (2009), two small mining towns and murder capitals of America. Invasion of the Remake was brave enough to enter there worlds to see whose Harry Warden is the more efficient killer. My Bloody Valentine (1981) was created to capitalize on the holiday slasher craze that was popular at the time. It was directed by George Mihalka and starred Paul Kelman, Lori Hallier, Neil Affleck, and Keith Knight. 28 years later, at the forefront of the remake craze, was My Bloody Valentine 3D (2009) directed by Patrick Lussier and starring Jensen Ackles (on a rare release from the prison called Supernatural), Jaime King, Kerr Smith, and Tom Atkins. Ah, Valentine's Day. Not only is love in the air, but also all the other heralds of the holiday: chocolate, those little candy heart things that everyone seems to enjoy so much, bouquets of red roses, flying entrails, gallons of blood, hallmark cards, and, of course, no V-Day would be complete without some gratuitous nudity. Okay, so maybe Box Office Pulp is celebrating a little bit differently than most, but the message is the same -- we love a good holiday themed slasher. So, to honor thy festival of love, the Crew is doing an episode all about how much they love the criminally underrated horror remake (by the always brilliant duo of Patrick Lussier and Todd Farmer): MY BLOODY VALENTINE 3D! Michael Wandmacher is one of horror’s most in-demand composers, and this year’s he’s scored the latest entries in two successful franchises: The Last Exorcism Part II, and The Haunting in Connecticut 2: Ghosts of Georgia for director Tom Elkins, who began his career as an assistant editor for Wes Craven. Wandmacher has maintained a collaborative relationship with director Patrick Lussier, himself a former editor on Craven’s Scream (1996), Cursed and Red Eye (both 2005), and Lussier’s own directorial efforts – My Bloody Valentine 3D (2009) and Drive Angry 3D (2011) – have resulted in a pair of very strong and distinct scores. In out latest podcast, Wandmacher touches upon working with first-time director Elkins, and how horror scoring no longer includes straight music, but elements of sound design. At the time of our conversation, a label had been approached to release the soundtrack to Lionsgate’s The Haunting in Connecticut: Ghosts of Georgia, and I’ll post further details when Wandmacher’s shape-shifting work is available. Prior interviews at KQEK.com with Michael Wandmacher include discussions on scoring the video game Twisted Metal in 2012; scoring Lussier’s 3D film Drive Angry in 2011; composing the score for Alexander Aja’s Piranha 3D in 2010; and writing music for My Bloody Valentine 3D and his large orchestral score for The Punisher: War Zone in 2009. Scott Carelli stops by to partake in a chat about Possession, Mystery Team and My Bloody Valentine 3D. This episode is so massive, it had to be broken up into three sections!00:02:57 - Now that John has left Milk Carton TV, he and Scott briefly discuss a new podcast they're involved in, "Movie Night with Geekshow". This leads to talk of really bad films and the possible value in trying to review them as such.00:08:42 - John gives his thoughts on the supernatural drama Possession, starring Sarah Michelle Gellar and Lee Pace. The film's rocky distribution history is also discussed, as well as comparisons between the theatrical poster and the DVD box art.00:21:17 - We go absolutely silly over Mystery Team, the first feature film from Derrick Comedy.00:42:20 - Unfortunately, John also watched the remake of My Bloody Valentine. The greatness of Tom Atkins and Jensen Ackles aside, most of what gets discussed here is the film's distracting, TV-like picture quality. Scott also brings up the merits of 3D with genre films like this.00:48:25 - The works of Todd Farmer and Patrick Lussier are discussed, closing out the episode as John argues in favor of the original Halloween III: Season Of The Witch. The following artists can be heard in this episode:The Mystery Team, Childish Bambino (Donald Glover), Michael Jackson, Andreas Alfredsson & Christian Sandquist & The Stiff Twins, Stars, Dario Marianelli, Jamin Winans, The Ting Tings, Kasabian, Kate Nash, Angels & Airwaves, A Perfect Circle, John Carpenter & Alan Howarth and Donovan.
Movie Meltdown - Episode 41.1 - Aside from this week's top movies and latest news we also give a special tribute to Patrick Swayze. PLUS our exclusive interview with the man himself - BILLY DEE WILLIAMS - If that wasn't cool enough, we also discuss... Halloween 3D, Henry Gibson, Cliff's Edge, the not-so-popular Megan Fox, Patrick Lussier, Jim Carroll, Head Nazi of the Illinoise chapter, Matt Damon, Silent Hill 2, Mary Travers, The Beast, Clint Eastwood, Return to Castle Wolfenstein, Orry Main, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, Lando on Robot Chicken, Aniston vs. Fox, Ridley Scott and an apocalyptic plague of bloodthirsty vampire test subjects. Bodhi's headed out to face the ultimate wave.
Debut date: Nov. 5, 2006. It's another bonus episode ... and this one's all about YOU! J.C. talks about Nathan Fillion's upcoming appearance on the show, thanks filmmaker Patrick Lussier, announces the new "Make Your Own Goddamned Contest Contest" hosted by J.C. and Scott Sigler, and debuts a new section of the website. It's called THE MINISTRY OF PROPAGANDA, and this one's huge!
It's The Krumps meets Bram Stoker's Dracula! Audrey and Michael tackle this strange Eddie Murphy/Wes Craven amalgam of horror and comedy, which is shockingly neither funny nor scary. Patrick Lussier is an incredible editor, though. Send feedback to info@iceonmars.net. Please rate and review!
