In this episode, I am excited to share my conversation with the co-founders of LiveGood, an organic nutritional supplement company. I am excited because helping others live inspired and levelling up their performance is a mission of mine and I believe the mission of LiveGood helps with that. We have so many choices to make bad or negative whether it be food or thoughts. We have the ability to choose life! In this episode, we talk about the pain points the Goodkin's saw in the current healthcare system or as Ryan puts it, “the system has created a sick care model where people get trapped, even the practitioners are trapped and many of them are unaware.” This is a strong statement but one that he points to as motivation to make a change in other people's lives. We also, talk about how we can take our healthcare into our own hands and not simply rely on the system to handle it for us. We discuss how education is key and why supplementation is vital to living healthy lifestyles today more than ever. We break down their clean organic supplement line and how to best optimize them in our daily routines. livegood.com/timdouglas Ryan has been a pharmacist for over 13 years but his view of healthcare has shifted and he no longer finds reward in the traditional pharmacy setting. Ryan has a doctorate in pharmacy and he was a multiple pharmacy owner for many years until he decided to leave it behind and focus on preventive medicine thru awareness, education and action. The last part of that statement is at his core, the movement and transfer of energy into positive action is what he believes is the difference in functional medicine. Ryan lives this lifestyle to the fullest, he makes a point to be an altruistic leader by example and he plans to never stop learning. If Ryan could be granted one sweeping change, he would wish for people to be more engaged in managing their health, treating their bodies with respect and dignity and developing lasting, lifelong habits that can be used to set good examples for those around them. Ryan has said, “Our messaging from the top down is all wrong, we have been misled and body, mind, spirit and our natural surroundings are paying the ultimate price.” Lisa graduated with honors from Florida State University with a Bachelor of Science in Sports Psychology, and a Minor in Nutrition. She then continued her studies at the University of Florida, where she graduated with honors, a Master's of Science in Clinical Exercise Physiology. Lisa is one of the co-founders of LiveGood, as well as the team's Director of Product Education. In addition, she is an IIN Certified Holistic Health Coach, ACSM Certified Personal Trainer, and a Certified Indoor Cycling Instructor. When it comes to living a healthy lifestyle, Lisa not only teaches people how to maximize their health and wellness, she lives it! From the healthy foods she intentionally chooses to cook, eat and feed her family, to the way she designs her fitness routine for herself, her clients and her family. Lisa focuses on minimizing stress and maximizing productivity and loves spending time outdoors with her family. She is a living example of what is possible when we make the decision to give our bodies what they need! It's important to have leaders who live what they teach; it's Lisa's passion for helping others that truly makes her so special. With over 20 years of experience in the health and wellness industry, Lisa knows what works and what doesn't work for people of all levels of health and fitness. She is committed to helping people understand how their bodies work and what can make them perform at peak levels. My guest in this episode is Jill Dennes a passionate young lady looking to make her mark in the world despite the storms she's face. Jill was the last woman standing at the amazing backyard ultra event, The Mid-State Mile. She set the women's record going toe to toe with other amazing athletes. We talk about her mother's death and her addiction to Adderall. She shares how Crossfit to work through the anger and it then become her outlet to work through the loss. I love her mindset to just try something new. Just jump in and figure it out as you go! Follow Jill on Instagram: @jilldennes Facebook: Jill Dennes YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCr-l-_qHzV2CFcJL-uHIukw Jill has been a Health and Fitness Coach for 10+ years and has always loved helping others live their best life through health and fitness. She not only loves challenging others to be their best, but she loves challenging herself to do things she never thought were possible. Her life quickly turned upside down when she lost her mom very unexpectedly to a Stroke in 2016. She then turned to CrossFit as her outlet. She loved the sport and hasn't turned back. She is now a CrossFit Coach and helps others gain the confidence and strength she knows they have within them. Jill has always been a "natural runner" but never really ran more than a 5K every Sunday when she lived in Florida (2014-2020). It wasn't until 2021 she did her first Trail Race (25K) in PA. She hasn't looked back since! She has found another love besides CrossFit and that is the Running Community! She is excited to keep challenging herself with more races and to see where it takes her! Lesson Learned Through The Carolina Reaper Challenge - Death Pepper 50K I share my thoughts, the challenges I had and how I got through them. If you are not a runner, that's ok...This is not a running podcast. I just use running long distances to challenge myself to endure hardship in a simi-control way. It is a stress inoculator if you will. A way to push the body to a place where my thoughts of quitting are challenging. How do I deal with those thoughts in this endurance event so that I can endure the difficult things in life. The storms that come my way. So I can practice having the buffalo mindset of pressing through the storm. In this episode I share some thoughts on what can effect us when facing a storm... the road we've been called to travel. Only we have been given the grace to travel this road; not our family, not our friends. Don't let sympathy keep you from the suffering you've been given the grace to endure. Use the pain of the storm to know how others might feel; use it to have more empathy and to help others through their pain. Avoidance is not The Inspired Way. In this episode, I highlight my experience at Mid-State Mile in Franklin, TN this past Father's Day weekend. It was an incredible environment of individuals coming together to serve one mission, to help each other go as far as they can go with others' support. I distance they could not come close to on their own. Mid-State Mile event is a 1.1 mile figure eight that has 340ft of elevation gain and loss. It's simple, you have 20 min to complete the loop. If you do, you're still in it. It goes until there is only one left running the last loop on their own. This creates such a beautiful combination of competition and love for our fellow man/woman that you just want to see them push beyond their own mental and physical limits. I share what I saw over the course of the weekend and how we can/should apply this to our lives in facing storms that come our way. My guest Marcus Torgerson is a man who doesn't fit in a specific box. Walking his path, trusting the process. Marcus knows a thing or two about facing storms...He had to learn at a young age how to survive in this world. From an alcoholic mother who always reminded him of the botched abortion to being molested. He has had to fight his way through life. We discuss how this chaotic upbringing helped develop his skills to become "a nightmare for bad guys." With the craziness in the world today, I see a need for us to be skilled in de-escalation, self-protection and evasion. Marcus and I also discuss how even a non-violent person has a level of violence in them. Just ask a mother whose children are in harm's way. We also move the conversation to a few things we all can relate to. This was my favorite part of this conversation with Marcus. So stick around to the end to not miss out. Marcus knows what he's talking about! He is a specialist in hand-to-hand defensive tactics. He has over 40 years of martial arts experience. If there is a need to educate and empower a civilian in the quickest easiest way possible then Marcus is your man. His speciality is his ability to assess and choose the appropriate empowering & educational plan of action to get a student to mentally and physically be a nightmare for bad guys in a short amount of time. Marcus Is a reflective old man that deeply believes in “ being kind to dumb animals “ thanks to his 2 decades of working security in nightclubs. However, The one thing that Marcus is overly sensitive and empathetic about is people with special needs and physical and mental handicaps. Marcus was also featured in the book by retired Navy SEAL, Clint Emerson: 100 Deadly Skills https://amzn.to/3n5NEYk You can connect with Marcus at: https://marcustorgerson.com/ IG: @marcustorgerson If you enjoyed this episode and would like to connect or support this mission, here are 4 Ways to Support The Inspired Way: 1) Sign up for my newsletter at timdouglasinspires.com; the newsletter is out weekly 2) Consider buying me a coffee (virtually)...go to www.buymeacoffee.com/theinspiredway and let's schedule a virtual meetup 3) Support our world-class partners Naked Warrior Recovery and Salty Britches Learn more about them here: timdouglasinspires.com/partners including promo codes to save you 20% 4) Leave a 5-Star rating and review on Apple Podcast & Spotify! How do we live undaunted in facing the storms of life? My guest Chelsea and I speak the same language...We speak Buffalo! We've chosen to be undaunted by the storms we face. Undaunted: Not discouraged or disheartened; resolutely courageous. This requires practice however it is possible for you! Has it always been that way? Nope but in this conversation, we uncover how some storms we just have to decide we are done and move forward with new intentions. Deciding to transition to the future without carrying the past trigging thoughts and/or emotions forward into the future. This and much more in this episode of The Inspired Way. Over the past two years, I have seen a theme with those I have spoken with or from guests on the podcast and that is, that many didn't know how to become a Buffalo. They were raised in homes or in environments with cows, people who avoid anything and everything. I believe we are designed to be Buffalos, not cows! Hopefully, this episode will help you start on your path to becoming the Buffalo you were meant to be. This week's guest is Josh Perry a former pro BMX athlete and multiple brain tumor survivor turned inspirational speaker, optimization strategist, and health coach. Josh Perry was born and raised in Cape Cod, MA. His father bought him his first BMX bike when he was just a kid and it almost immediately consumed his life. Josh worked tirelessly at perfecting his craft while his mother drove him all over the country for camps, sessions and competitions. At 17 years old Josh was given an opportunity to train with the best of the best, and though it was thousands of miles from home and he had not yet graduated high school, he didn't think twice and moved to Greenville, NC. Josh moved up to the professional level of competition quickly and was riding Dew Tours, X-Games and competing internationally at the highest possible level. Josh felt as if everything he had been working for his entire life, and everything he had dreamed about was playing out in front of his eyes. He was only 21 years old and felt like he had everything. But, after a nasty crash, his life was threatened. Josh had hit his head and went to a local urgent care to make sure something more serious wasn't happening. He had no damage from the crash, but there was a brain tumor taking up the left half of his brain. Immediate surgical removal was necessary. Josh came out okay and defied all odds by getting back on his bike only five weeks later. On August 26th, 2021, Josh went into awake craniotomy surgery to remove yet another tumor that had grown and was causing seizures. Thanks to Dr. Q at Mayo Clinic, Jacksonville, FL, and awake craniotomy, Dr. Q was able to remove the new tumor and ALL the other tumours resulting in Josh being tumor FREE for the first time in 12 years. As the passion to support others grew, and after a third brain tumor diagnosis, Josh got really clear on his higher purpose in life and left BMX competition to start his business speaking around the world and coaching entrepreneurs, athletes, executives, and organizations. Josh became certified through the Institute of Integrative Nutrition as a health coach, became certified through Ketogenic.com as a Keto Specialist, has become well versed in Neuro-Linguistic Programming, read countless research articles, stacks of books and communicated with every expert he could. Josh and I discuss these storms and how his mindset played a vital role in his success. We also discuss perspective is essential, health is internal, our reality is a manifestation of our choices, what we focus on expands, and much much more. We discuss many topics but in all, how we are ultimately pursuing the Truth in our lives. Super honored to have my friend Will Branum back on the podcast. It has been almost 2 years since he was on and he did not disappoint, duh! Check out our first conversation back in Ep:16 https://anchor.fm/theinspiredway/episodes/Ep16-Will-Branum---Recovery-From-Lifes-Storms-ehbjte Founder and CEO of Naked Warrior Recovery, a CBD company focused on the recovery of veterans and first responders. He is a retired Navy SEAL with 26 years of service. He has served on both traditional SEAL Teams, taught as a SEAL Sniper Instructor and served on Teams that specialized in undersea operations, who's missions must be approved by the President of the United States. He led major combat operations ranging from protecting the interim Iraqi elected officials to Direct Action missions in Baghdad and across Ambar province. My guest this week is Kyle Thompson. Kyle is the Founder of Undaunted.Life and the host of Undaunted.Life: A Man's Podcast. The mission of Undaunted.Life is to equip men to push back darkness. They do so by providing content that forges spiritual, mental, and physical resilience. If you are a man listening to this episode, you may have also come across his daily Undaunted devotionals on the Bible app. Buckle up because Kyle and I discuss some topics rarely talked about, at least publicly, in the Christian church space. We chat about the challenge Kyle faced in being a manly man in the modern-day local church (I believe a lot of men will relate to this), how as manly men we can find our place in the church, and why a lot of men don't like the local church. We also discuss how we need to focus on both the Lion of Judah as well as the Lamb of God. Finally how we as strong Christian men can be equipped to push back darkness when others won't. For this, we discuss how to address the worldly cultural topics that are affecting the church body such as abortion, Pride, CRT, wokeism and more. Men are called to be the light in this dark world. If we do not cry out the rocks will! Ephesians 5:11-17 says, "11 Take no part in the worthless deeds of evil and darkness; instead, expose them. 12 It is shameful even to talk about the things that ungodly people do in secret. 13 But their evil intentions will be exposed when the light shines on them, 14 for the light makes everything visible. This is why it is said, “Awake, O sleeper, rise up from the dead, and Christ will give you light.” Living by the Spirit's Power 15 So be careful how you live. Don't live like fools, but like those who are wise. 16 Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days. 17 Don't act thoughtlessly, but understand what the Lord wants you to do." The Pursuit is about facing the hard things in life with integrity, discipline and valor. Being a man of God in this culture requires us to be different from the rest of the world. Dah! but common knowledge isn't common practice. We need to have more integrity - wholeness, discipline - putting in the work and valor - that personal bravery to go against the flow of this world. In this segment, we discuss doing hard things like making the transition from W2 employment to the entrepreneurial world and the mindset of our adventure together in the Hellcat 50K (this recording is a couple of months old when released) This is brought to you by: mightywarriorcouncil.com --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/theinspiredway/message

A few months back I had the privilege of being a guest on the Last In Line Leadership Podcast with John Shibley. John is an Author | Podcast host of Last In Line Leadership | Men's Ministry leader and curriculum developer | Sales and Sales leadership for 26 years | Husband and Father of 4. John stepped into his calling right in the middle of the COVID pandemic when he self-published his first book called Last In Line Leadership: A Pathway To Purpose And Destiny Defined. This is a book of 5-day devotionals on various life foundational topics that are designed to encourage and inspire people to connect with God and live their best life. John also developed a YouTube channel and podcast where he interviews powerful leaders, military and law enforcement service members, professional athletes, ministry leaders as well as other extraordinary people who have conquered or overcome adversity. John currently lives in Conroe, TX and is a Senior Specialty Sales Rep in the Neurology Infusion Industry. It was a pleasure to have a conversation with John on the subject of leadership. This has been a subject I have studied for nearly two decades. Along with our conversation on leadership we spoke on ego, humility, empathy, gratitude and much more. One thing that John said really stood out to me within the nature of leadership, “Stop Complaining and Do Something.” I hope you enjoy this conversation and get something out of it. What an extreme honor to have Ryan Michler on The Inspired Way Podcast. I have listened to Ryan's podcast, Order of Man (https://www.orderofman.com/) since its launch in 2015. Late 2016 was an interesting year for me and used Order of Man to learn and become the man I felt I was called to be. Ryan is someone I have learned from and consider a distant mentor when it comes to building my podcast and a men's community such as @mightywarriorcouncil (mightywarriorcouncil.com) In this episode, Ryan and I chat about creating a life of doing hard things, why it's especially important for men, ego, controlling our emotions, and leading in the absence of leadership and much much more. Ryan is also the author of the book Sovereignty and is currently working on a second book. We did not get into it on this episode but Ryan is also a combat veteran and we're so thankful for his service to our country and his continued service today as he leads men on the mission to restore masculinity in the hearts of men. This episode is with the amazing Stephanie Jones aka @giving_gal I am so thankful to have met Stephanie at the @midstatemile this past year! We had a great time getting to know one another. Stephanie is the author of 4 books and is known for her giving streak. I would have a challenge to you all to go get her book The Giving Challenge. What does giving have to do with Facing The Storm you might be asking? Well when we are focused on ourselves, the issues or the enormity of the storm in our life we aren't focused on others nor giving. Yet the Bible says a gift makes room for you Proverbs 18:16 and times of storms or tough situations we all could use God's favor in our lives. This episode is loaded with so much meat! We discuss topics on, clearing out our physical space to free up the mental and emotional baggage we could be carrying and how that stops us from moving forward, to facing fear, judgement, love, and of course giving. My guest in this episode, Mike Frazier, is one cool dude! He's a taco loving, dad joke telling beast of Buffalo! This guy has weathered many, many storms and I am so thankful he has! The combination of his training as a member of the US Coast Guard Tactical LEDT, 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (SOAR) and his strong faith in Christ helped him push through the many storms he faced. One of the 160th SOAR's motto is “Night Stalker Don't Quit!” No matter what, DON'T QUIT! I hope you enjoy this conversation with Mike Frazier! I am super grateful to share this conversation with James Ward James is a husband, father, friend and an awesome man of God! He loves the outdoors and is an @xoskinusa ambassador. He has 20 years of church and nonprofit leadership experience and over a decade of international experience in places such as Haiti, East Africa, Central America and East Asia. His heart is to expand the Kingdom around the globe. James is also an Instructor for one of the top leadership training events, the @3_of_7project Proving Grounds, which still has some openings for the January event. Check that out! In this episode, we talk about joining the @heartforlebanon team as the Executive Director. We discuss the many storms he's faced as a leader in an international organization, the importance of having a great team and what it takes to push through storms that are outside our control. We also discuss his most recent storm, the passing of his father and the setting in which that played out about a month ago at the @midstatemile. I trust you enjoy this conversation as much as I did! I'm not an overly emotional guy but this episode moved me. Enjoy!! Follow @jamesward_79 & the @heartforlebanon Thank you for checking out this podcast episode and share it with a few friends. Aaron Dana is a regular guy with an uncommon passion to take on the challenges of life head-on. He is a husband, a father of 3 beautiful kids, an ultra runner and a business owner. This was a super fun episode with Aaron. We dive more into who Aaron is a person and not just a Top 3 finisher of the @midstatemile (which was no small feat!) We talk about his life growing up, entering adulthood, marriage, fatherhood, living to a standard, and lessons from his running, including the recent Mid State Mile. I trust you will enjoy this conversation with Aaron Dana as much as I did! Thank you for listening, sharing, leaving a rating and review. Thank you to our partners for their support as well.
