Happy Easter. This podcast is for you if you need a boost in your faith. This is David Norrie, and I'll be honest with you, when I was young, maybe 10 years old, I had questions about faith and God and Jesus Christ. When I went to the people closest to me and asked "why do we believe in Jesus Christ," the answer I got was "just believe." That never sat well with me. So what better time than Easter week to sit down with my beautiful wife, who opened my eyes to the Word of God, and sit down to talk about reasons to believe in this man named Jesus Christ and the wonderful, incomparable word of God. It's as honest as it gets. I hope you enjoy it and share it. SHOW NOTES:1. The clearest and most in depth explanation of where we got the Bible and how we can trust in it. This Mark Driscoll sermon will erase any doubts of how you can trust in the validity of the Bible.https://realfaith.com/sermons/john-17-woman-caught-adultery/2. In this episode we also made mention of books outside of the Bible, not included in the Apocrypha. We mention our friend Luke Rodgers who co-authored a book about the Book of Enoch. Here is the link for that. The Book of Enoch: With Commentary & Concept Art on the Book of the Watchers (Complete Edition, includes 1, 2, & 3 Enoch) Paperback - by Timothy Alberino (Author, Introduction), Luke Rodgers (Author), Nathan Henry (Authorhttps://www.amazon.com/Book-Enoch-Commentary-Watchers-Complete/dp/B0D7J15TXS3. We also spoke of the Shroud of Turin and referenced a Glenn Beck show featuring Jeremiah J. Johnston, President of Christian Thinkers Society, who guides Glenn through a scientific, historic, and theological exploration of the Shroud.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3XfbQH7kK2Y&t=360s4. Not mentioned in this show but a highly suggested listen that Angelike and I suggest is the following. It's our friend and Spiritual Father Kerry Moss giving a beautiful explanation of the Resurrection. Its segment 11 titled Jesus Christ; Our Passover Lamb. David Norrie is a devoted husband, father, and entrepreneur and the founder of Turned On, a platform he created along with his wife Angelike to help preserve the lost art of face-to-face connection within the home, workspace, and faith community. Identifying himself as “a student of human interaction,” his mission is to open the eyes of those people who have put their lives on autopilot and to make them more aware of the disconnection that is rapidly happening in board rooms, bedrooms, living rooms, coffee shops, churches, and social media platforms. He desires to help people stop watering down their ability to interact with one another and express themselves more authentically by being “TURNED ON” to see with new eyes and listen with new ears to the possibilities happening all around them. Articulating your vision. Speaking up in your message. Stewarding your gifts. Getting back to connection. These are just some of the topics we’re covering on today’s episode of the Soul Purpose Leadership podcast with David Norrie! David is the best-selling author of the book Turned On, co-host of the Turned On podcast and founder of Socially Speaking, an occupational training program designed to help entrepreneurs and professionals articulate their passions and products with a greater degree of charisma and marketability. We brought David on the show today because in this second quarter of 2021, we’re diving a little deeper into what leadership is - having some tougher convos, because let’s be real - it’s time. It needs to happen. And we’re forging the way with you and for you. On today’s episode, Leadership "+": The power of "stories," speaking up, elevator convos AND 1984!, we discuss storytelling. After all, storytellers are teachers, and as David says, “We have to get back to being human again.” Yep, we have to speak the truth even when - especially when - it’s hard. Have you been feeling the urge to speak up, but for whatever reason are holding back? David encourages us to GO THERE. “There is no other option,” he says. “It’s supposed to be ugly… it’s supposed to be hard. Because it’s going to define why you get up out of bed every day.” Finally, David teaches us that it’s not just our message that’s important, but how we deliver it. We need to not only create our mission statement, but get it out to the world in truth and in love. That’s how we steward our gifts well and get back to connection - back to 1984 (tune in for more on this!). In this episode, Matt talks with David Norrie, author of Turned On: Tuning In, In a Tuned Out World. The best leaders are those who are able to be fully present with others, who are able to focus on the right things in their lives at the right times and not give in to distractions. Unfortunately, we’re living in a time when people are so busy and focused on what’s happening next that they’re missing out on what’s happening right now. People are lonelier than ever yet still surrounded by others. This week’s guest helps people figure out where they’re going too fast in the wrong life areas, and he helps them “slow down to move ahead.” We hope you enjoy this episode, and we're excited for you to hear the next ones. We've got more great guest interviews and a few lessons with Matt along the way.Join the simplicity crusade and hit subscribe!

On this Gratitude:UnFiltered, LIVE from the Element by Westin Hotel… Brought to you by LiveManaUtoya.com where all proceeds go to benefit the Live Mana Worldwide Foundation… “The Chronicles of David Norrie” David Norrie is a devoted husband, father and entrepreneur and the founder of Turned On, a platform he created along with his wife Angelike to help preserve the lost art of face to face connection within the home, workspace and faith community. He has more than 25 years of experience in all facets of communication; radio, video, newspaper, magazine, social media and sales training. His columns on health and relationships were published in one of the seven largest newspapers in the country and he is co-author of the best-selling book Faith Into Abundance: 30 Stories of Faith From Successful Christian Entrepreneurs. In 2015 he founded Socially Speaking, an occupational training program designed to help professionals articulate their passions and products with a greater degree charisma and marketability. Over the course of his training, David observed how many of his clients and much of society appeared to be moving farther away from one another emotionally rather than closer together despite advancements in communication technology. This sparked a desire to create a revival of the spirit by emphasizing principles of basic communication which could be easily incorporated into marital relationships, parenting and social gatherings. Identifying himself as “a student of human interaction” his mission is to open the eyes of those people whose lives have been put on autopilot and make them aware to the disconnection that is rapidly happening in board rooms, bedrooms, living rooms, coffee shops, churches and social media platforms. To help people stop watering down their ability to interact with one another and express themselves by being “TURNED ON” to see with new eyes and listen with new ears to the possibilities happening all around them. He hopes to restore the light to a world going dark.
In 2015, David Norrie founded Socially Speaking, an occupational training program designed to help professionals articulate their passions and products with a greater degree of charisma and marketability. But over the course of his training, David observed that many of his clients and much of society appeared to be moving farther away from one another emotionally, rather than closer together, despite advancements in communication technology. This sparked a desire to create a revival of the spirit by emphasizing principles of basic communication that could be easily incorporated into marital relationships, parenting, and social gatherings. So, David Norrie and his wife founded Turned On, a platform and podcast created to help preserve the lost art of face-to-face connection within the home, workspace, and faith community, and David wrote about his mission in the book, http://www.turnedon.com/book (“Turned On: Tuning In, In a Tuned-Out World.”) Identifying himself as “a student of human interaction,” his mission is to open the eyes of those people whose lives have been put on autopilot and make them aware to the disconnection that is rapidly happening in board rooms, bedrooms, living rooms, coffee shops, churches, and social media platforms; to help people stop watering down their ability to interact with one another and express themselves by being “TURNED ON” to see with new eyes and listen with new ears to the possibilities happening all around them. He hopes to restore the light to a world going dark. And just to giver you a little perspective on why this is so necessary: 45,000,000 people search “How to be happy” on Google every month. That means 45,000,000 people are searching for light, and in all likelihood, that number is even higher right now. But, with David's help, we're going to start correcting course. -- Resources: Learn more at https://www.turnedon.com/ (www.turnedon.com) Read: http://www.turnedon.com/book (“Turned On: Tuning In, In a Tuned-Out World”) http://www.theturnedonmethod.com (www.theturnedonmethod.com ) Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/davidnorrie.turnedon/ (@davidnorrie.turnedon) Do you want more to empower yourself through healthy living? Management vs. Edification, how Network Marketing taught us how to praise others in order to achieve moreHow edification helps us hone in on God’s gifting in our livesBuilding your children’s character and confidence with words and praise.Contrived and manipulative vs . authentic and genuine, there is a huge difference that people can see and feelFollowing the favor so you will be motived to work in your strengths in your career and your marriageA death-oriented culture of entertainment is sucking us dry with “inspirational entertainment” and other people’s “highlight reels” on social media.Three rules for getting into the habit of edificationDo you think you’re slick? Is anybody buying the manipulation breath? Don’t wear that coat around me.Don’t drop the ball. How to develop the relationship and create a culture in your home and business that is psychologically consistent and brings continued value. The biggest mistake is thinking that your spouse doesn’t need your compliments because they get it in other places. What if the world, what if congress, adapted a spirit of edification? What would life feel like?Discipline, truth telling and constructive criticism are all part of your tool belt. Add in regular edification as well.
