In this episode of Church Talk, we dive deep into the power of persistent prayer with Pastor David Bala Singh, affectionately known as All Night Bala. He shares his incredible 53-year journey of faith, beginning with his dramatic deliverance and calling as a teenager. The conversation explores why many struggle with prayer, the importance of persistence, and how true prayer goes beyond words—it is a lifestyle. Pastor Bala emphasizes the need for both private and corporate prayer, the role of faith in unanswered prayers, and how a deep, consistent prayer life can transform individuals, churches, and entire cities. Whether you're a leader, a believer, or someone seeking to strengthen your prayer life, this episode is a call to deeper intimacy with God through unwavering, unceasing prayer.

We also dig into the weirdness of the Book of Enoch, the connection to fallen angels, and why you might want to take some of these stories with a grain of salt. Here's a summary of its key points:Relevance of Politics to Christianity: The article posits that politics, understood as the art of structuring society for the common good, is inherently linked to Christian values. It's not just about governance but about how society lives out shared life in accordance with divine principles.Historical and Theological Context: Drawing from Reformed political thought, particularly Johannes Althusius, it highlights that politics has always been part of human organization aimed at establishing social life in a manner reflective of God's order. The Church's Role: The church is seen as having not only the right but also the duty to address political issues because these issues concern justice, neighborly love, and the good life, which are central to Christian teaching. Ignoring these would be failing in the church's mission to be fully alive in all societal aspects.Critique of Political Neutrality: The text critiques the idea of the church floating above earthly affairs, suggesting that such a stance might lead to societal moral decline. It points out that avoiding political issues can be seen as neglecting the church's responsibility towards justice and societal well-being.Engagement Without Partisanship: While advocating for engagement, the article warns against the church becoming a mouthpiece for any political party or ideology. The focus should be on principles derived from scripture rather than party lines or specific legislation details.Cultural Mandate and the Church's Mission: The church's mission is not just spiritual but also involves engaging with the world in ways that reflect God's kingdom, which includes speaking into the political domain without necessarily endorsing particular policies or parties.Implications for Church and Society: If the church fails to engage with politics, societies might continue a downward moral spiral. The article implies a call to a more active, principled, yet non-partisan engagement with political life, where the church acts as a moral guide rather than a political actor. This article essentially calls for a balanced approach where the church engages with politics not for power or to dictate specific policies but to influence society towards justice, righteousness, and the common good, reflecting Christian values in the political sphere.Support the showSign up for the Patreon - https://www.patreon.com/chasedavisFollow Full Proof Theology on Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/fullprooftheology/Follow Full Proof Theology on Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/fullprooftheology/

This Sunday is Easter, and churches everywhere will rightly be proclaiming the joy and hope we have because Jesus victoriously rose from the dead and is alive today. It's also a time when a lot of people come to church who don't normally do so. Some are nonbelievers and some are Christians who just aren't already connected to a church home. But in an increasingly secular and skeptical culture, churches really can't take for granted anymore that people coming have a reference point for understanding why Christians care about the resurrection so much and why we should even believe a resurrection happened. In today's episode, Natasha and Alisa highlight some important conversations churches need to have surrounding Easter that tend to be ignored.

Have you ever been in a situation where you don't realize it at the moment, but after the fact you look back and see that the adversary was totally working to get at you, to pull you down, to sneakily make you feel less-than worthy or like you're failing or you even lost out on joy from comparison or negativity? Today we're going to discuss how Satan is in your blind spots, how to spot him, and what to do about it.   Time Stamps: [00:37] - The adversary is hanging out in our blind spots. [03:09] - What's the difference between a leopard and a cheetah? [04:57] - Corrine describes how cheetahs stalking their prey mirrors how evil can be lurking in plain sight. [07:38] - Satan is the enemy of righteousness. [10:22] - Do you understand the underlying problem that is fueling the chaos? [12:08] - Restlessness, irritation, and discontent can still exist when the true cause of the havoc is not addressed. [14:24] - There are times we don't recognize Satan and claim ourselves as the “problem.” [16:06] - Don't let the adversary score easy wins. [17:48] - Corrine talks about the difference between being “fearful” and being “aware.” [20:22] - Neil brings up the concept that not all thoughts in your mind are from you. [23:20] - Neil gives a tip on separating the good and the subtle bad that appears in your thoughts from time to time.  [25:41] - Everybody can relate to being concerned about rejection or comparison at some level. [28:29] - More people resonate with your experience than you think. [30:56] - “You have accomplished something beyond price.” [33:53] - Here's why you shouldn't nag yourself with a sense of failure. [35:50] - Christ taught us how to deal with the devil. [38:20] - Be careful of the subtle temptations that start to leak into your life. [41:19] - Satan will take you down however he can get you. [44:14] - Savior is much more powerful.  [46:33] - Give your attention to the positive.   Supporting Resources: “Watchful unto Prayer Continually” Talk by David A. Dianne Agron and Thomas Hayden Church stopped by Silence on Set podcast to talk about their latest movie currently playing at the 2022 Tribeca Film Festival called Acidman. Agron and Church talk about the importance of family, the father/daughter bond, love, mental health, and an unbreakable connection within the human spirit. This film is a must-see and the listening to Agron and Church talk about the film, it is clear why. Host: Monica Gleberman Editor: Miranda Currier Social Media Graphic: Jojo -- Bio: Maggie (Dianna Agron) arrives at a small, run-down house in the middle of nowhere to find it defaced by big orange letters reading ACIDMAN and learns that this is the locals' nickname for her reclusive father (Thomas Haden Church). After a decade apart, Maggie's offhand explanation for her visit is that she just wanted to check in on him, but this doesn't ring true considering how difficult he was to find. The two awkwardly want to get to know one another (Dad seems more comfortable talking through his dog Migo, or through Bobby, Maggie's childhood sock puppet friend), but are at the same time scared about what increasing familiarity will bring. After Dad reluctantly brings her on one of his nighttime outings, Maggie realizes that his obsession with UFOs and communicating with extraterrestrial beings have only intensified over the years. She struggles to understand him, his single-mindedness, and deteriorating mental health, all the while with her own life-changing news to share. Letting their relationship ebb and flow through anger, silly jokes, tender gestures, and sadness, director Alex Lehmann leads the film in a beautiful meditation on the cyclical nature of parenthood and the longing for connection.--Frederic Boyer

This episode is an excerpt from a live talk I recently gave at church. I talk about ways I believe I have seen God working with me and others in the wilderness. I recognize that a lot of you may have had difficult experiences with religion and I don't want this podcast to be a specifically religious or Christian podcast at all. I just want to hear about all people's meaningful experiences in the outdoors, however they interpret them. I just hope that these experiences I share in this episode do not offend or trigger anyone, and if they do I am very sorry. I love you all! --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/ford-erickson/support
