A little slip that already has this show making plans! We also get into Vince's Safe Ferris situation, an update on Biden's visit to Milwuakee as well as the latest Trump indictments, and Lori Nickel wraps up the hour.

From a horrific fire in Crivitz to Tammy Baldwin announcing re-election here's today's look at local news.

I HIGHLY encourage all women to listen to this podcast, not just women in menopause. We're so excited to sit down with Dr. Patrick Flynn to talk about menopause and women's health! Here are some topics we're chatting about this week... How and WHY you need to change your outlook on menopause Why menopause is actually easier to deal with versus women in their cycle What our hormones look like during menopause Common treatments for menopause Why birth control isn't a great option for menopause Supporting your body naturally through menopause About Dr. Patrick Flynn Dr. Patrick Flynn D.C., is the founder of The Wellness Way, as well as an international speaker and author, but still maintains that he is a “simple, country boy who loves what he does.” Dr. Flynn grew up in Crivitz, a small town in northern Wisconsin. He was inspired early in life to understand the human body when teachers labeled him as “troubled and hyper” (reflecting a modern day ADHD diagnosis). Rather than turning to medication, he turned to education, and as a thirteen-year-old boy he read numerous books his local library had to offer. Shortly after meeting his now wife, Christy, she informed him that she was unable to have children and his direction became clear: understanding hormones and the subject of fertility. Dr. Flynn continued his studies with greater passion and built his practice around achieving the best clinical outcomes for patients by testing for and addressing the reasons for dysfunction, rather than focusing on symptoms. As such, he has been able to successfully guide patients with a wide variety of clinical diagnoses to restored function. Now he and his wife have four beautiful daughters. Dr. Patrick Flynn grew up in Crivitz, a small town in Wisconsin. The classic class charmer with an affinity for fun, Dr. Flynn was inspired early in life to understand the human body when teachers labeled him as “troubled and hyper” (reflecting a modern day ADHD diagnosis). Rather than turning to medication, he turned to education, and as a 13 year old boy began to devour every anatomy book the library had to offer. Little did he know that this pursuit of understanding would be the beginning of a lifetime of revolutionizing America’s approach to healthcare. It was when his wife, Christy, informed him of her infertility that his passion became clear: understanding hormones, the building blocks of life. Dr. Flynn continued his studies relentlessly, and began to build his practice around achieving the best clinical outcomes for patients by testing for and addressing the cause of dysfunction, rather than focusing on symptoms. As such, he has been able to successfully guide patients with a wide variety of clinical diagnoses to restored function, including his wife, with whom he now has four beautiful daughters. Dr. Flynn has used his unique approach as the foundation of The Wellness Way clinics, a growing network of practices located across the United States dedicated to pioneering new concepts in healthcare to restore wellness to the entire nation. Along with his consistent study and research into human physiology, anatomy, nutrition, herbal medicine and chiropractic principles, Dr. Flynn is a compelling and dynamic national speaker and author. His life’s calling is being realized as he, along with The Wellness Way clinics, continue to impact lives in communities nationwide with the principles of how the body functions and the message of true health.
For those who don't know my background, I grew up in Crivitz, Wisconsin, a rural town of 996 people in northeastern Wisconsin. I wasn't the fastest kid, or the smartest kid, or the most athletic kid. In 7th grade, I was one of the worst basketball players on the team. I had generic shoes the other kids called "G-Didas" for generic Adidas shoes. They were Win Streaks, and they were all we could afford. I didn't believe in myself - at all - in 7th grade basketball. To say I sucked was an understatement. I played 5 minutes a game, if that, and I don't think I scored any points. 8th grade was a little better, and Coach Nelson showed me some sympathy and started me a few games. I averaged 6 points per game. I still had no confidence in my game or me. It took me until freshman year when I really thought I could be a decent ball player. We practiced hard, harder than I ever had before, and I worked my butt off, in large part because of the belief of my coach, Gary Wondrash. I still believe in myself, and much of that started with Gary's belief in me first. He was a great coach, and I still use his coaching philosophies in how I lead and how I live. Work hard. Practice hard. Hustle. Don't be afraid to do the hard work. Focus on your fundamentals. Keep improving a little bit more, every day. Learn from your mistakes. Be a good sport. Smile. Sing in the shower. Easy for him to say. He was the coach. He was my stud coach. He could hit 10 free throws in a row. Heck, he could hit 50 free throws in a row. To say Gary was someone I wanted to be like would be a gross understatement. But I didn't know his back story, until we had this conversation. Growing up, Gary wasn't the fastest kid, wasn't the smartest kid, or the most athletic kid. By the time he got to my school as a teacher, he had been awarded all conference in basketball, had set school records that are still unbroken, and he'd impacted some kid's lives. In this conversation, Gary Wondrash shares his philosophies on basketball, life, and on the value of hard work. On how growing up as the hardest working player on the team helped him be better than his more naturally gifted teammates. This is one of my favorite conversations, and I hope you'll listen and learn from my mentor, my coach, and now, my friend, Gary Wondrash. He inspired me with this conversation, just like he inspired me my freshman year of basketball. More about Gary Wondrash Gary is still a teacher, though not in my hometown. He also is a fitness coach, and teaches older adults the benefits of moving more and eating right. Visit Gary Wondrash's website to learn more about his fitness coaching and a little more about him. You can also check out the Tough Kid Challenge, something Gary spearheaded, for kids in the Fox Valley area (in Wisconsin).
