Justin Fields outdueled Josh Dobbs on Monday night, but only just barely, and in a way that made us fear for his future in Chicago. We'll talk about that game and the rest of the Week 12 contests, including Bijan Robinson and Derrick Henry scoring multiple times, Derek Carr struggling and losing a couple wideouts, the battle of the Bakers Mayfield, and much more. Locked On Chargers - Daily Podcast On The Los Angeles Chargers
The Los Angeles Chargers will be on a strict budget as they enter the free agency period and offensively they should take flyers on some discount different makers. RB Raheem Mostert could make sense as a home run threat for the backfield, that shouldn't break the bank. D'Ernest Johnson is another back that could add some competition to the running back room on the cheap after a down 2022. The Chargers need speed at receiver, and could target a couple of 4.3 options. While Parris Campbell and Darius Slayton would fill that need, they come with their fair share of red flags. If WR Cedrick Wilson is released, he could look for a reunion with former OC Kellen Moore. Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors! Built Bar Built Bar is a protein bar that tastes like a candy bar. The Atlanta Falcons are looking to complement their young core on offense this offseason via free agency. Aaron Freeman takes over as the Falcons general manager and breaks down the offensive free agents that he would sign to accomplish that mission. First, he discusses the Falcons recently announced coaching changes including notable changes at quarterback, defensive line, and secondary coach. Then, he discusses why he isn't making a big splash at quarterback to replace Desmond Ridder as the starter and how Mitchell Trubisky would be his pick to be Ridder's backup in 2023. Then, he discusses how free agents D'Ernest Johnson, Khari Blasingame, and Corey Davis make for perfect complements to Tyler Allgeier and Drake London at running back, fullback, and wide receiver. Finally, he discusses his crazy idea to completely revamp the offensive line to see if offensive line coach Dwayne Ledford can perform a miracle. He breaks down why he's hesitant to re-sign right tackle Kaleb McGary, how he'd fit Nate Davis and Chris Lindstrom at right guard or elsewhere, and what is the future at left guard and center. The New Orleans Saints are in for an eventful offseason in 2023. With QB and coaching staff questions aside, Marcus Davenport may be out and Cameron Jordan and Alvin Kamara need help. Which three non-QB positions are their biggest needs on the roster? Why names like Kareem Hunt, D'Ernest Johnson, and Rashaad Penny are names to watch in the free agent running back market and even a potential reunion like Boston Scott. With Saquon Barkley and Josh Jacobs on the market (or set to be) the Saints could slide in and side a great otherwise overlooked running back option. Why changing the prototype at defensive end could benefit the Saints in 2023. Follow & Subscribe on all Podcast platforms…
With New Orleans Saints wideouts Jarvis Landry and Chris Olave looking more and more likely to miss the Saints matchup with the Cleveland Browns, Alvin Kamara will need to tote the rock effectively. Cameron Jordan will need to get after Deshaun Watson and Nick Chubb (if he can play) on the defensive side. If Chubb can't go then Kareem Hunt and D'Ernest Johnson will still be a threat. Meanwhile Taysom Hill and Eno Benjamin could be called upon to help Kamara in the run game. Follow & Subscribe on all Podcast platforms…

The Browns Depth at Running Back Will Allow Them to Move The Ball Without Nick Chubb. In this video, we answer the question: If Nick Chubb can't go against the New Orleans Saints, who will fill his shoes? We look at all the latest Cleveland Browns news, including news on Deshaun Watson and the injury to Nick Chubb. We also discuss the Saints news and who might replace Nick Chubb on the field. Make sure to subscribe to our channel for more sports content! Head coach Kevin Stefanski gave a two-word answer yesterday when he was asked if the Cleveland Browns would have running back Nick Chubb available against the New Orleans Saints on Christmas Eve: “Hope so.” And now after missing his second practice in a row today, there is reason to be concerned about the status of Chubb, who is rehabbing through a foot injury. If he is not good to go, Kareem Hunt will step in for a great deal of the workload, with either Jerome Ford or D'Ernest Johnson serving in relief. Saints Must Halt Browns in Old-Fashioned Week 16 Battle. The Saints performance against the run is the most surprisingly disappointing aspect of their game in 2022. Their slim postseason hopes depend on whether they can reverse that trend in Week 16 at Cleveland. A 5-9 New Orleans Saints team heads north to face the 6-8 Cleveland Browns on Christmas Eve. The Saints can still win the NFC South, but need a win here to keep any realistic hopes alive. New Orleans was expected to have one of the NFL's best defenses in 2022. They've had their moments, especially over the last month, but have also suffered crucial breakdowns in key situations. The Saints rank 11th in total defense, giving up an average of 327.6 yards per game. However, they rank last in turnovers forced (10) and have struggled on third downs. Most concerning is the failures of a run defense that dominated opponents from 2018 through 2021. They'll take on a physical Cleveland team that got QB Deshaun Watson back from suspension three weeks ago. The Browns average 362.6 total yards per game, ranking 8th in the league. While their passing attack has been erratic, they've had one of the NFL's most consistent ground games. Inclement weather is expected for the game, likely increasing the importance of the running game. The Saints performance against the run is the most surprisingly disappointing aspect of their game in 2022. Can they reverse that trend to keep slim postseason hopes alive? Head coach Kevin Stefanski gave a two-word answer yesterday when he was asked if the Cleveland Browns would have running back Nick Chubb available against the New Orleans Saints on Christmas Eve: “Hope so.” And now after missing his second practice in a row today, there is reason to be concerned about the status of Chubb, who is rehabbing through a foot injury. If he is not good to go, Kareem Hunt will step in for a great deal of the workload, with either Jerome Ford or D'Ernest Johnson serving in relief. Lamar Jackson promised to put on a show on Sunday, and while the Browns pushed the Ravens to the very end, he and the Ravens held on for a 23-20 victory in a big AFC North showdown. Cleveland's Cade York lined up for a potential game-tying 60-yard field goal attempt with 2:01 left, and it was deflected wide and left by Malik Harrison. The Browns had one last-ditch chance at a miracle finish, but Donovan Peoples-Jones was forced to fumble after a 19-yard catch as time expired. The Ravens recovered, but without any timeouts, the Browns wouldn't have had time to line up for another play anyway. Jackson orchestrated a vintage Jackson drive at the end of the first half to give the Ravens their first lead of the game, 13-10, with 1:57 left in the half. Facing a third and 11 from the Browns' 19, Jackson slipped away from Myles Garrett and found receiver Rashod Bateman wide open for a 26-yard pass down the right side. Ronnie Harrison missed the tackle and Bateman rumbled for another 10 yards. Jackson ran for 10 yards on a third and 3, weaving past John Johnson III in the backfield. He found tight end Isaiah Likely over the middle for 16 yards to the 17 and then ran it again himself for 10 to the 7. Gus Edwards took it from there, finding a gaping hole on the left side for the 7-yard TD run. Brissett took over at his 12 after a holding call on the kickoff return, and it looked good when Marcus Peters was flagged 15 yards for pass interference to the Ravens' 40. Linebacker Justin Houston lit it up from there, sacking Brissett on back-to-back plays, and stripping him on the second. They punted two plays later from near midfield, and the Ravens ran one more play from their 8 before jogging to the locker room. The Browns were fortunate to be down only 13-10 at the half. Early in the second quarter, receiver Devin Duvernay ripped off a 46-yard punt return to the Browns' 21, with D'Ernest Johnson losing contain. But the Ravens moved only 5 yards to the 16 before Owusu-Koramoah blitzed and defended the pass to Kenyan Drake. Baltimore settled for a 34-yard Tucker field goal that made it 10-6 with 10:05 left in the half. LinkedIn LinkedIn Jobs helps you find the candidates you want to talk to, faster. So it's time to put a stake in the ground and make some rankings. On today's podcast we'll tackle the scarcest position: running back. Beyond the first several names, there simply aren't a lot of sure things, and we'll talk about why. We'll also talk some about tight end ranks and why our first inclination is to once again *not* pay to get one of the highly rated ones. Fantasy draft strategy formulations begin now! With free agency under way, host Pat Fitzmaurice (@Fitz_FF) welcomes in Josh Larky (@jlarkytweets), the director of analytics at PlayerProfiler.com, to discuss some of the early free-agent deals and other matters. Pat and Josh talk about Tom Brady's un-retirement and what it means for Mike Evans, Chris Godwin and whoever lines up at running back for the Buccaneers in 2022. Is Amari Cooper's move to Cleveland good or bad for his fantasy value, and what does it mean for CeeDee Lamb? Is Mitch Trubisky a viable solution to Pittsburgh's QB problem? How valuable are James Conner and Chase Edmonds now that they've been split up? And is Christian Kirk really worth all that dough? Josh explains how he went from the analytics departments of two MLB teams to a career in fantasy football analytics. He also details his prolific burrito consumption and discusses some of his favorite burrito variations. Josh touts Breece Hall and Christian Watson, and Josh and Pat talk about where Hall should be taken in redraft leagues. Josh and Pat debate where Lamar Jackson, Patrick Mahomes and Joe Burrow should be drafted. Josh makes a case for D'Ernest Johnson as a potentially valuable fantasy asset and then lists a couple of stay-aways and a couple of must-haves in 2022 drafts. Host Jeff Lloyd is joined by Sports Illustrated's Pete Smith to talk on Cleveland picking up the tag on running back D'Ernest Johnson. Does he stay? Do the Browns make a move at RB now that the room carries a higher cap hit? The defensive line now looks like it needs 3 new starters for the second year in a row, can Andrew Berry get this room locked down for the forseeable future? The Dallas Cowboys have some players they can not keep who could be answers for the Browns. #Browns #BakerMayfield #D'ErnestJohnson #MylesGarrett #JOK #DenzelWard #NFLFreeAgency #NFLDraft Built Bar Built Bar is a protein bar that tastes like a candy bar.
