This Week at Genesis | Nehemiah 12 Daena led us through Nehemiah 12 by reminding us that the true work of renewal is not the rebuilding of stones but the rebuilding of souls. Nehemiah shows us a community returning to the rhythms that reshape the heart—holy purification, right worship, and faithful offering. Through Scripture, church tradition, and prophetic warnings, we're invited to see how easily the human heart drifts toward forgetfulness and self-reliance. From Hosea to Deuteronomy to Psalms, the story is the same: when God blesses us, we're tempted to forget Him. Yet the call of Nehemiah 12 is a return—a recommitment to worship, holiness, and generosity as practices that realign our souls to God. This week was a sober but hope-filled reminder: renewal begins when worship is restored, when idolatry is confronted, and when our offerings flow from a heart wholly belonging to God.

This Week at Genesis | Nehemiah 6 This week, Deana continued our series through Nehemiah, reminding us that distraction, discredit, and fear are often the enemy's tactics to pull us away from God's work in our lives. Yet, like Nehemiah, we're invited to remain steadfast — to stay at the wall, to pray for strengthened hands, and to courageously stand firm in what God has called us to build.

This week, Deana taught from Nehemiah 3. Nehemiah is not about a building project; it is about a people becoming attentive and responsive to God in the midst of rubble. As the people rebuilt the wall together, we are reminded that God's work is not about structures but about hearts transformed and communities strengthened through obedience and unity. At Genesis, we are a Jesus-centered community shaped by the table, worship, prayer, story, and mission. Our heart is to bring the gospel to the nations, raise up leaders, and plant new Jesus-communities—living as the church both locally and globally.

This week at Genesis, we continued with our Summer of Simplicity series, focusing on the Scriptures, through a panel of community leaders, Hannah Walser, Ashley Varnadore, and Sam Jackson, led by Daena Dooley. Together, we explored what daily engagement with the Bible looks like—through honest reflections, personal rhythms, and practical applications from different voices in our community.

This week at Genesis, we explore what it means to live faithfully in exile. Like Daniel in Babylon, we face the pull of compromise and assimilation—yet we're called to stand firm in God's calling on our lives.

In this conversation, Daena unpacks the section in 1st Timothy 2:9-15 where Paul gives instruction to Women in the church of ephesus. This is a very loaded passage with many things that make us feel uncomfortable in our culture. After diving into the historical context, culture, and original language we find Paul is speaking to something very different than what we may have first assumed.

In this Sunday conversation we are in John 6:24 - 70 with Daena talking through the current state of human desire in the USA and how culture is forming us to treat Jesus as a thing to be consumed.

We have offically finished our conversation series around the Holy Spirit. This series has deeply impacted our community in so many ways. In our last entre to this conversation, Daena brings us through a special passage in the gospel of John that highlights this idea that the Holy Spirit brings Living Water.

As we get deeper into our Sunday Conversations around the Holy Spirit we are beginning to focus on what does is the Holy Spirit do. In this conversation Daena walks us through what it means to be Infilled by the Holy Spirit.

Continuing on in our series through 1st John we are now in Chapter 2: "My little children, I am writing you these things so that you may not sin." 1st John 2:1 (CSB)   In this conversation Daena leads us through verses 1 - 6 in chapter 2 focusing in on obedience.

We are almost through our 4 week series, talking around 4 core ideas, and in this 2nd to last conversation Daena leads us through the idea of Consecration.

Kym remembers good times with her sister Daena, and cries over Will's music box gift.   Lauren inspects Morgan's room and discovers there is more to her than she realized. She interrogates numerous people, using her lie-detecting skills to uncover people who she will have to return to later.   Despite some people's reticence, she manages to uncover Morgan's killer, only to dodge a bullet when going to his apartment.

This past Sunday we continued our series on the spiritual disciplines with Daena unpacking what it means to Worship. 

Will visits Kym at the hospital library, and Kym shares her panicked feelings with him, disclosing emotional information about Daena. Will responds sympathetically and then drops the most sentimental and open-hearted line that has both us, AND Kym, badumping! ***

Lauren and March discuss Morgan's poisoning at the morgue, and it is everything we suspected. Lauren is reminded of the bodies at the ATST and at the factory, but doesn't lose her analytic edge. She also notices the bullet graze on Morgan's leg. At the hospital, Kym wakes up. The flowers at her bedside remind her of the flowers at her sister Daena's funeral, after a brief hospital stay. She lurches out of bed to throw them, whereupon Dr. F. Emerys discovers her. ***

Kym and Lauren sit outside the Allendale Train Station and talk about the Snapdragon. We see a flashback to when Tristan and Dakan spoke with Lauren after the accident. We learn of the oppression of the previous monarch, and the betrayal of the Snapdragon by an anonymous member. We discuss the mysterious lack of burning of the willow planted by Mr. Rosenthal. We learn a bit more about Daena's death, and then Kym opens up to Lauren about how she felt at the factory. We infer that Kym doesn't believe Lauren's partner is dead. She wants to help Lauren with Lune's investigation, but Lauren doesn't want to tell her anything. After the hug, Kym stiffens, coughs, and collapses. ***

In this teaching Daena starts us off in a mini series where we will take a few weeks to discuss the question Jesus asked his disciple's. "Who do you say that I am?"

Kym is overtaken by Neyra, whom we learn has heard a lot about Kym from Will. Now we're curious! Lauren hears Neyra's lies. What will she make of them? There is a very intimate pat down, and the couple is on their way. When they're alone in their box, Neyra throws out the mask and tells Will bluntly to drop the act. Will is surprised, and then bemused when Neyra tells him why they would never have worked out. Neyra shares how trapped she feels, and we hope her admission will inspire Will to think about himself and his desires for once. Speaking of which, Neyra asks Will about the girl he is *really* into, another question that we hope will provoke introspection. Lauren and Kym are relieved of their front door guard duties by a faceless character who is either inconsequential or a PS spy (one must always be suspicious), and Kym uses her binoculars to spy on the couple. She doesn't appear jealous, but something is beginning to brew. They mention that Will seems a bit off, and Kym is about to tell Lauren something relating to her therapist and dreams (Daena?), but the show begins, and Will and Neyra are interrupted by a hand opening the curtain to their booth: a hand belonging to the finally unmasked and absolutely stunning Redcliff.
