Today you will hear us talk about: Defining what ethnocentric design Different cultures Different demographics Subject matter expert Inventing something and inventing something for someone A lot of design and invention has ego, but you should take out the ego. Instead, look at data. Identify the problem. Develop empathy for the user. What is going on in their life. Interview your customer, or prospective customer types. Formal ethnographic techniques. Martinez and Howe go spelunking into the sordid depths of the so-called "Dissident Right" to untangle its attempts at conflating economic leftism with right-wing political tradition. They think they can rehabilitate the reputation socialism by framing it as racist and anti-Semitic, but socialism is ALWAYS a dysgenic selective pressure that turns people into spiteful mutants. "Ethnocentric socialism" is therefore a contradiction in terms. Welcome to THE ROUNDUP w/ Martinez and Howe!

Dear Lord Jesus, we shall have this day only once; before it is gone, help us to do all the good we can, so that today is not a wasted day. Stephen Grellet What good are we doing by showing hate within our government and as American citizens Ethnocentrism Sociology. the belief in the inherent superiority of one's own ethnic group or culture. a tendency to view alien groups or cultures from the perspective of one's own. Ethnocentrism is a major factor in the divisions among members of different ethnicities, races, and religious groups. It's the belief that one's ethnic group is superior to another. Ethnocentric individuals believe they're better than other individuals for reasons based solely on their heritage. Clearly, this practice relates to problems of both racism and prejudice. What does the Bible say about ethnocentrism? Ethnocentrism is the belief that a particular race or ethnic group is superior to all others and all other races and ethnic groups are to be subjectively measured in relation to that race or ethnic group. It is a system of belief that leads to extreme pride and lack of concern for others. Simply put, ethnocentrism is another name for racism, which has been a plague on humanity for centuries and the cause of the death of millions. There is no place among God's people for the ethnocentric attitudes which lead to racism. Such attitudes are contrary to Scripture and displeasing to God. Biblically, ethnocentrism is sin. All men and women are made in the image of God (Genesis 1:26–27, 9:6), although that image is corrupted by sin. It is because we are created in His image that God does not show partiality or favoritism (Deuteronomy 10:17; Acts 10:34). Jesus did not lay down His life for a particular race of people, but by His death He “purchased men for God from every tribe and language and people and nation” (Revelation 5:9). The Israelites were ethnocentric by virtue of being God's chosen people, but His choice was not based on their merit, but on His mercy and grace. The Scriptures tell us that Jesus came to save the world, both Jews and Gentiles. Paul bears this out by saying, “There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus” (Galatians 3:28) and “there is no Greek or Jew, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave or free, but Christ is all, and is in all” (Colossians 3:11). Jesus destroyed all barriers of race and ethnicity with His death on the cross. As Paul said in Ephesians 2:14, “For he himself is our peace, who has made the two one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility.” Ethnocentrism, whether based on historical grudges or on the erroneous teachings of men, is wholly contrary to God's Word. We are commanded to love one another as He has loved us (John 13:34), and such a command precludes any discrimination based on race or culture. Just an added not about stun guns: The safety of stun guns has been questioned by advocacy groups such as Amnesty International, which reported more than 300 stun gun-related deaths in the U.S. between 2001 and 2008. In this episode, we dive into specifics about the author's identity and experience as a white American woman from New York City, observing rural and Indigenous Russians of Kamchatka in their day-to-day lives. We hear her reflections about time spent in rural Kamchatka, traveling with dogsled teams, reindeer herding families, and gathering wild foods. We reflect on circumpolar questions about the ocean’s fish supply after Fukushima, and in the context of a warming Arctic. She shares her observations about the post-Soviet religious environment, including Russian Orthodox religion and shamanism, and her experiences with various modes of transportation, including by Soviet tanks with snowmobile tracks. Her cross-cultural perspective sheds insight on the way educational systems in other parts of the world contrast with, and exceed what many Americans may imagine. In closing, the episode circles back, to the pervasiveness of enforced patriarchal, gender-based expectations and violence in the day-to-day lives of women in the circumpolar north.

This is a tech house/ techno/ minimal mix i spun live and purley based on mood. I really like the darker elements of techno and minimal which work together with the straight 4-4 beats of tech house. While the title suggests straight techno, I really can't corner this mix into one genre as it explores a full range of genres and elements specific to each. Ethnocentric literally means to believe that ones way is superior to all others. I felt this was fitting because my goal is to break the barriers put up by "genre snobs" (sorry if I offended anyone) and fill ears with tight crossover mixes incorporating the best of all elements.
