The Rich Zeoli Show- Hour 4: 6:05pm- Jonah E. Bromwich and Kate Christbek of The New York Times write: “The Manhattan district attorney's office and lawyers for Donald J. Trump presented opening statements to jurors on Monday, with prosecutors accusing the former president of entering a criminal conspiracy while the defense sought to discredit two key witnesses. A prosecutor, Matthew Colangelo, began by telling jurors that Mr. Trump had conspired with his former fixer, Michael D. Cohen, and the publisher of The National Enquirer, David Pecker, to conceal damaging stories during his 2016 campaign.” You can read more here: https://www.nytimes.com/live/2024/04/22/nyregion/trump-hush-money-trial/the-opening-arguments-gave-a-preview-of-how-the-two-sides-will-present-the-case?smid=url-share 6:15pm- Speaking outside of the Manhattan Criminal Courthouse on Monday, former President Donald Trump grilled New York Attorney General Letitia James for her refusal to accept his $175 million bond in a civil fraud case. Later in the day, James agreed to accept the bond after minor modifications. 6:30pm- While appearing on Fox News, Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT) said that Congressional reauthorization of Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA)—without new safeguards—is similar to giving a fox the keys to the hen house. 6:40pm- Irsa Hirsi, the daughter of Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) and a student at Barnard College at Columbia University, was recently suspended for anti-Israel protests and refusing to leave a makeshift encampment on campus. Despite Jewish leadership at Columbia suggesting that Jewish students are no longer safe on campus due to the threat of violence from radical leftist protesters, Teen Vogue decided to write a glowing piece about Hirsi this weekend. On Monday, Columbia University was forced to hold classes online.

McCarthy of National Review writes of former President Donald Trump's “hush money” trial which began Monday morning: “Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg is an election denier. In the trial that began in earnest this morning, he and his assistant prosecutors are trying to hoodwink the jury into believing that they have formally accused Trump of stealing the 2016 election—as if that were an actionable criminal charge.” You can read the full article here: https://www.nationalreview.com/corner/david-pecker-will-be-braggs-first-witness/ 4:05pm- On Saturday, the House of Representatives passed four foreign aid bills totaling $95 billion—including a package that would send $60 billion to Ukraine. The bills had cleared a procedural hurdle on Friday with bipartisan support—316 to 94, passing with more Democrat than Republican support. The aid package includes a measure that, if passed in the Senate and signed by President Joe Biden, would force Chinese company ByteDance to sell its popular social media platform TikTok to an American-based company—citing a threat to national security. Refusal to sell TikTok would result in the app being banned in the United States. 4:10pm- Eric Boehm of Reason writes: “Tech companies and First Amendment groups are calling attention to a provision in a domestic spying bill that they say would significantly expand the federal government's power to snoop on Americans' digital communications—potentially by forcing employees of private businesses to become informants. The Information Technology Industry Council (ITI), a global trade group that represents major tech companies including Google and Microsoft, is calling for last-minute changes to the Reforming Intelligence and Securing America Act (RISAA), which could get a final vote in the Senate on Friday. The bill's primary purpose is to extend Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA), which allows U.S. intelligence agencies to scoop up communications between Americans and individuals abroad. But the bill also includes a provision that ‘vastly expands the U.S. government's warrantless surveillance capabilities, damaging the competitiveness of U.S. technology companies large and small, and arguably imperiling the continued global free flow of data between the U.S. and its allies,' the ITI said in a statement this week.” You can read the full report here: https://reason.com/2024/04/19/how-the-fisa-reauthorization-bill-could-force-maintenance-workers-and-custodians-to-become-government-spies/ 4:30pm- Dave McCormick—Republican Candidate for U.S. Senate in Pennsylvania & former Under Secretary of the Treasury for International Affairs during the George W. The White House later clarified that Biden's uncle had not been eaten by cannibals—however, according to reports, the Prime Minister of Papua New Guinea is not happy about the unsubstantiated claim! 5:00pm- President Donald Trump—the presumptive Republican Presidential Nominee— joins The Rich Zeoli Show to preview Tuesday's Pennsylvania Primary. President Trump weighs-in on numerous topics including the Biden Administration's indifference towards securing the U.S. Southern border, biological males competing in women's sports, Congressional renewal of FISA, and his ongoing fight against politically motivated legal charges which are preventing him from campaigning in key swing states. President Trump jokes of President Joe Biden's numerous policy failures: “Jimmy Carter was brilliant by comparison.” Plus, are we on the precipice of World War III? President Trump notes that prior to Biden taking office “you never heard this kind of language. You never heard this before when it was the Trump Administration—nobody talked about World War III.” He goes on to implore Pennsylvanians to “get out to vote!” 5:30pm- Author Les Leopold joins The Rich Zeoli Show to talk about his new book, “Wall Street's War on Workers: How Mass Layoffs and Greed Are Destroying the Working Class and What to Do About It.” You can find his book here: https://a.co/d/aUfaEoA 6:05pm- Jonah E. In 1983, President Reagan in a televised speech proposed what he called the Strategic Defense Initiative. Its core idea was that the U.S. would build defense systems that could shoot down nuclear-armed ballistic missiles, then expected to be fired by the Soviet Union at the U.S. mainland…By universal acclamation, the hero of last weekend was Israel's missile-defense systems. The world watched in real time Saturday night as Reagan's commitment to shooting down missiles protected Israel's population from the more than 300 drones and ballistic and cruise missiles fired by Iran and its proxies at cities across Israel.” You can read the full editorial here: https://www.wsj.com/articles/ronald-reagan-just-saved-israel-iran-missile-defense-7c6847d1?mod=opinion_lead_pos9 4:05pm- Karoline Leavitt—National Press Secretary for the 2024 Trump Campaign—joins The Rich Zeoli Show to recap Donald Trump's recent visit to a bodega in New York City where a large crowd gathered and chanted “we want Trump.” Plus, Leavitt notes that Donald Trump has an upcoming event in Wildwood, New Jersey on May 11th. This week, President Joe Biden indicated that he opposed the bill. H.R. 4639, known as the Fourth Amendment Is Not For Sale Act, ‘expands prohibited disclosures of stored electronic communications' to include purchases of data by law enforcement and intelligence agencies.” You can read the full article here: https://reason.com/2024/04/17/biden-opposes-bill-that-would-keep-cops-and-feds-from-buying-your-data/ 4:40pm- Rich saw the new dystopian movie “Civil War”—starring Nick Offerman, Jesse Plemons, and Kirsten Dunst. Rich hated it, and he hates Henry for recommending it. 5:05pm- The twelve jurors serving on former President Donald Trump's Manhattan “hush money” trial have been selected—along with one alternate juror. According to Jonah Bromwich of the New York Times, opening arguments in the case may begin as soon as Monday. While speaking with Wolf Blitzer on CNN, former federal prosecutor Ankush Khardori expressed concern about the anonymity and safety of the jurors serving on the Trump trial. Khardori explained: “Now, this is not the fault of the media…Responsibility to guard all of the very specific information that we're learning [about the jury] resides with the D.A.'s office and with the judge. I'm a little surprised that we are learning all of this because I do not think this jury is going to remain anonymous, necessarily, if they keep this up.” 6:10pm- While speaking to the press before boarding Air Force One on Wednesday, President Joe Biden seemingly suggested that his uncle was eaten by cannibals in New Guinea…wait. what? On Thursday Karine Jean Pierre clarified the President's remarks, confirming that Biden's uncle was not eaten by cannibals. 6:15pm- Prince Harry is now officially an American citizen! So, who hates the royals more: Rich or Prince Harry? 6:30pm- A newly released campaign ad claims that President Joe Biden is as “sharp as a knife.” 6:40pm- Joe Lancaster of Reason writes: “A bipartisan group of lawmakers is once again trying to keep the government from performing an end run around the Fourth Amendment by buying people's personal data. Prey: Immigration, Islam, and the Erosion of Women's Rights, Ayaan Hirsi Ali's book on the explosion of sexual violence and harassment in Europe, was published in early 2021. Since then, the book has sparked a worldwide discussion online and offline about the immigration of huge numbers of mostly young Muslim men (more than 3 million, by some reports) to European cities and its effect on the women who live there. To discuss this phenomenon, explain why many of these young men feel empowered to harass women, and offer some possible solutions, Peter Robinson is joined by Prey author and Hoover Institution research fellow Ayaan Hirsi Ali; Valerie Hudson, a professor of political science at the Bush School at Texas A&M University and an expert on women's rights and demographics; and Christopher Caldwell, a senior fellow at the Claremont Institute and the author of Reflections on the Revolution in Europe: Immigration, Islam, and the West, published in 2009, and The Age of Entitlement: America Since the Sixties, published just last year. Recorded on June 11, 2021

Certainly both Ali (who was the victim of female genital mutilation and narrowly escaped an arranged marriage before making a success of herself in the Western world) and Nawaz (himself once a jihadist who spent jail time in Egypt, and who now heads a counter-extremist think-tank in the UK) have been critical of Islam, but is it fair to call them extremists in turn? Plus: Virginia pastor Terry Wayne Millender and his wife have been arrested, accused of orchestrating a $1.2 million scam that victimized members of their church. In recent years, churches have organized "Hell Houses" at Halloween. Instead of traditional scares like vampires and zombies, Hell Houses showcase sadistic fundamentalist fantasies of the horrors that await the unsaved in the afterlife. This year, a Chicago area church abandoned a plan to recreate Orlando's Pulse nightclub massacre (which took the lives of 49 LGBT victims) as part of their annual Hell House. The key word here is "abandoned"--but it's pretty disturbing that a church would think of doing such a thing, even going so far as to put out an ad for actors to play the victims. The 2016 election will be over soon, and Republican candidate Donald Trump is widely expected to lose. Most analysts and consultants expect the GOP to face an "existential crisis," an epic tug-o-war between the more traditional leadership (the mundane pro-business foreign policy hawks who would ordinarily be happy to compromise with the Democrats so both sides can win something) and the rabid "base" who are so desperate to burn "the system" to the ground they were willing to vote for Donald Trump. Grab the popcorn.
Encore release September 1, 2018. Encore release May 25, 2017. We interview Deborah Scroggins, author of the Wanted Women: Faith, Lies and the War on Terror: The Lives of Ayaan Hirsi Ali and Aafia Siddiqui. This dueling biography contrasts the lives of the world’s most hated female apostate and the world’s (at one time) most wanted female Islamic terrorist. Also: The Cranston, Rhode Island school board has decided NOT to appeal the recent court ruling that a prayer banner at Cranston High School West was unconstitutional. Student Jessica Ahlquist, who brought the lawsuit, has been the subject of abuse and even death-threats in the mostly Catholic state, which was (ironically) founded on the principle of religious freedom. School board chairwoman Andrea Iannazzi claims they won’t be pursuing an appeal, not because they understand the unconstitutionality of a religious banner in a public school, but because the district cannot currently afford the legal costs (as if the ACLU is flush with cash nowadays). Some progress in the fight for gay rights. Washington has become the 7th state to legalize same-sex unions, but New Jersey Governor Chris Christie (often mentioned as a potential Republican VP nominee) has vetoed a similar measure passed by his state’s legislature. A November referendum is a possibility in both states. Giveaway! Chuck Morse is joined by Daniel Mael, Brandeis University student who exposed the hypocrisy of his university, under pressure from CAIR, for cancelling an honorary degree for Ayaan Hirsi Ali who is exposing the rampant abuse of women in Islamic countries. Link: http://www.truthrevolt.org
Ayaan Hirsi Ali is one of the world's most controversial critics of Islam. Born in Somalia, the former Dutch politician has lived under threat of death for years, after the murder of a colleague with whom she made a film about Islam's treatment of women. She talks about her new memoir "Nomad" and about what the West should do to lessen the influence of radical Islam among Muslim immigrants.
