While speaking with the press after the announcement, Trump revealed he is considering a 100% on foreign-made films. Memorial Day, EPA grants, DEI is DIE, a backwards closing, jury tampering, EV charging and MAGA Chicago

The Alan Sanders Show

Play Episode Listen Later May 28, 2024 74:01

On today's show, I open with a reminder that Memorial Day is a holiday to remember those who have died in service to our nation. I do that because two members of the Squad, Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) and Rep. Cori Bush (D-MO) confused yesterday with Veteran's Day. Senator Shelley Capito (R-VA) held a quick presser Friday to let us know the EPA has given $50 million dollars to a company that is anti-Israel/anti-Semite and anti-police. Yet, they are being funded simply because they claim to be a Green New Deal aligned organization. This past Friday, we informed you that whistleblowers inside UCLA's medical school are concerned that 50% of the students brought in under DEI admissions policies cannot pass basic medical knowledge tests. This reminded me of the interview Don Lemon (formerly of CNN) questioned Elon Musk over Musk's derision over DEI. Closing arguments are beginning in the Alvin Bragg led trial against Donald Trump. The clown show continues to be more clownish. The instructions are so messed up to the jury and Judge Juan Merchan wants the defense to give their closing argument first. This makes no sense whatsoever. David Gelman, a criminal defense attorney, weighed-in on this on Fox News this weekend. Continuing the obvious lawfare being waged by the White House, Joe Biden has already announced that he is ready to address the nation the moment the jury announces their verdict in the NYC case. We know they cannot trust Biden to go unscripted so we can conclude one of two options are at play. The first, the Administration already knows the outcome of the case and they have already written that speech. Or, they have written two speeches, one for if he is found guilty and the other for a hung jury. While we are on the discussion of watching our legal system be dismantled before out eyes, Joe Biden made an unexpected visit to the ex of Hunter Biden just before she testifies in his gun case. Nothing to see here. Mayor Pete found himself laughed at by the host of Meet the Press when he tried to explain why the government spent $7.5 billion on EV charging stations but only have 7 or 8 built thus far? His excuse hold no water when compared to Elon Musk's 50,000+ stations built for just over $1 billion. National Review put out a piece today begging Ohio to get Joe Biden on the ballot. It's ironic that while the Left plays games with the law to suit their wishes, Republicans are getting blasted for actually following the letter of the law. The floating pier the military built just outside of Gaza is sinking. It's a perfect microcosm for the entirety of the Biden regime. Over priced, poorly conceived and an abject failure. Finally, there is a MAGA movement in the heart of Chicago begging Donald Trump to come hold a rally there. More and more residents of blue cities and states are waking up and realizing how bad Biden is for them and how good things were under Trump. Take a moment to rate and review the show and then share the episode on social media. The bills had cleared a procedural hurdle on Friday with bipartisan support—316 to 94, passing with more Democrat than Republican support. The aid package includes a measure that, if passed in the Senate and signed by President Joe Biden, would force Chinese company ByteDance to sell its popular social media platform TikTok to an American-based company—citing a threat to national security. Refusal to sell TikTok would result in the app being banned in the United States. 4:10pm- Eric Boehm of Reason writes: “Tech companies and First Amendment groups are calling attention to a provision in a domestic spying bill that they say would significantly expand the federal government's power to snoop on Americans' digital communications—potentially by forcing employees of private businesses to become informants. The Information Technology Industry Council (ITI), a global trade group that represents major tech companies including Google and Microsoft, is calling for last-minute changes to the Reforming Intelligence and Securing America Act (RISAA), which could get a final vote in the Senate on Friday. The bill's primary purpose is to extend Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA), which allows U.S. intelligence agencies to scoop up communications between Americans and individuals abroad. But the bill also includes a provision that ‘vastly expands the U.S. government's warrantless surveillance capabilities, damaging the competitiveness of U.S. technology companies large and small, and arguably imperiling the continued global free flow of data between the U.S. and its allies,' the ITI said in a statement this week.” You can read the full report here: https://reason.com/2024/04/19/how-the-fisa-reauthorization-bill-could-force-maintenance-workers-and-custodians-to-become-government-spies/ 4:30pm- Dave McCormick—Republican Candidate for U.S. Senate in Pennsylvania & former Under Secretary of the Treasury for International Affairs during the George W. Cohen, and the publisher of The National Enquirer, David Pecker, to conceal damaging stories during his 2016 campaign.” You can read more here: https://www.nytimes.com/live/2024/04/22/nyregion/trump-hush-money-trial/the-opening-arguments-gave-a-preview-of-how-the-two-sides-will-present-the-case?smid=url-share 6:15pm- Speaking outside of the Manhattan Criminal Courthouse on Monday, former President Donald Trump grilled New York Attorney General Letitia James for her refusal to accept his $175 million bond in a civil fraud case. Later in the day, James agreed to accept the bond after minor modifications. 6:30pm- While appearing on Fox News, Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT) said that Congressional reauthorization of Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA)—without new safeguards—is similar to giving a fox the keys to the hen house.   6:40pm- Irsa Hirsi, the daughter of Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) and a student at Barnard College at Columbia University, was recently suspended for anti-Israel protests and refusing to leave a makeshift encampment on campus. Despite Jewish leadership at Columbia suggesting that Jewish students are no longer safe on campus due to the threat of violence from radical leftist protesters, Teen Vogue decided to write a glowing piece about Hirsi this weekend. On Monday, Columbia University was forced to hold classes online.

The Rich Zeoli Show- Full Episode (01/29/2024): 3:05pm- Michael R. Gordon of The Wall Street Journal writes: “Three U.S. service members were killed and at least 34 were injured in an Iran-backed militia's drone strike on a base in northeast Jordan, U.S. officials said on Sunday, marking the first American troops killed in hostile action since the start of the Hamas-Israeli conflict in Gaza. A U.S. official said that the attack took place overnight at Tower 22, a small outpost near the Syria border. The drone struck living quarters for the troops, contributing to the high casualties, a U.S. official said. The strike, which was carried out by a one-way attack drone, signals an escalation in the fighting in the region. The president and secretary of defense said the U.S. would retaliate.” You can read the full article here: https://www.wsj.com/world/middle-east/three-u-s-troops-killed-in-drone-attack-in-jordan-b45ddb6b?mod=hp_lead_pos1 3:15pm- While campaigning in South Carolina, President Joe Biden reacted to three U.S. service members being killed in an Iranian-backed drone strike, vowing: “we shall respond.” 3:30pm- A report from the Australian Broadcasting Corporation claims that climate change—specifically heatwaves and cyclones—are having a negative impact on unborn babies, including an uptick in premature births. 3:40pm- Echoing sentiments made by President Joe Biden, Deputy Pentagon Press Secretary Sabrina Singh explained that America will respond militarily to the Iranian-backed militia group responsible for the deaths of three U.S. servicemembers. Singh did not specify when the response would occur or what it would look like. 3:45pm- While speaking with reporters, National Security Council Coordinator for Strategic Communications John Kirby denied that President Joe Biden will consider his polling numbers before retaliating against Iran. 3:50pm- While appearing on CNBC, Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley blamed Iranian-backed militia aggression on the Biden Administration's decision to lift sanctions on Iran—resulting in greater economic success for the Iranian regime which has, consequently, led to greater funding of terror groups in the region. 4:05pm- According to a new poll from Redfield & Wilton Strategies, 18% of voters would significantly consider casting their ballot for a presidential candidate endorsed by singer Taylor Swift. In 2020, Swift accused Donald Trump of “stoking the fires of white supremacy and racism” and vowed to vote him out of office. 4:15pm- According to a report from Rebecca Kern of Politico, pro-Biden PACs like Priorities USA have been paying TikTok influencers to push messaging friendly towards President Joe Biden's reelection efforts. Interestingly, TikTok's official policy is to ban political advertising—so why are these ads permitted to run? In a video that has gone viral, TikTok influencer Trevor Abney alleges that a political group offered him $50,000 to post a video glorifying the Biden Administration's economy. You can ready Kern's article here: https://www.politico.com/news/2024/01/23/biden-campaign-social-media-influencers-00136389 4:25pm- The New York Times writes: “As former President Donald J. Trump speeds toward the Republican nomination, President Biden is moving quickly to pump energy into his re-election bid, kicking off what is likely to be an ugly, dispiriting and historically long slog to November between two unpopular nominees… Biden aides are drafting wish lists of potential surrogates, including elected officials, social media influencers and the endorsement of their wildest dreams: the global superstar Taylor Swift.” You can read the full article from Reid J. Epstein, Lisa Lerer, Katie Glueck, and Katie Rogers here: https://www.nytimes.com/2024/01/29/us/politics/biden-trump-election-taylor-swift.html 4:40pm- In her Wall Street Journal editorial, Mary Anastasia O'Grady documents how Canadian officials have attempted to silence University of Toronto professor emeritus Dr. Jordan Peterson by threatening to remove his clinical license. O'Grady writes: “If only Mr. Peterson's treatment were an exception to the administrative state's modus operandi. In 2018 the law societies of Ontario and British Columbia refused to credential Trinity Western University's law school because the university makes students take a vow not to engage in sex outside marriage, traditionally defined. This would seem to be a matter of religious freedom. But the court said the regulator was acting in the public interest.” You can read the full article here: https://www.wsj.com/articles/canada-vs-jordan-peterson-free-speech-psychology-reeducation-d084d7ab?mod=opinion_lead_pos9 4:55pm- While speaking at a campaign rally in Las Vegas, Nevada, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump said that if the U.S. were ever attacked by a foreign enemy, he is not certain North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) would help the country respond or recover. 5:05pm- Phil Kerpen—President of American Commitment—joins The Rich Zeoli Show to discuss the ongoing disaster at the U.S. Southern border, the Biden Administration's proclamation that they successfully saved the country's economy, and President Joe Biden's bizarre decision to ban liquid natural gas exports. Plus, according to a new study New Jersey's plastic bag ban has actually led to 3x as much plastic being used, as people regularly discard “reusable” bags. 5:20pm- NBC's Law & Order: Special Victims Unit airs perhaps the most ridiculously woke episode in the history of television. 5:35pm- Karla Treadway—Business Coach for The Sovereign CEO—joins The Rich Zeoli Show to talk about Tucker Carlson's recent appearance in Canada where he called out Prime Minister Justin Trudeau for routinely shutting down free speech and using the power of government to infringe upon civil liberties. For example, just recently a Canadian judge ruled that the state's decision to use “emergency powers” to stifle trucker protests during the Covid-19 pandemic was unconstitutional. You can learn more about The Sovereign CEO here: https://www.karlajoytreadway.com 5:50pm- In a hilariously terrible op-ed featured in Politico, Yale Law Professor Bruce Akerman claims that in order for the Supreme Court to preserve its own legitimacy, it must adopt an “originalist” perspective and ban Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump from appearing on the 2024 ballot. You can read Akerman's argument here: https://www.politico.com/news/magazine/2024/01/25/supreme-court-originalism-trump-ballot-eligibility-00137666 5:55pm- Will Taylor Swift be at Super Bowl LVIII? Phil Murphy has been using taxpayer resources to promote his wife as she campaigns to become the Garden State's latest US Senator, according to records and critics. Gov. Today's show opens with the announcement that three members of our military were killed and dozens injured by a drone strike that has ties to Iran. Our forces have endured close to 150 attacks since the October 7 massacre committed by Hamas and the Palestinians. We have inept leadership playing make-believe on the world stage. WH Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre couldn't even get cogent words to spill from her lying lips today when discussing it. Next we discuss how more “sanctuary cities” are pushing to close the border. It's so easy to virtue signal with words when no action is required. But, now that they are on the brink of financial collapse, suddenly, they don't want to be sanctuaries anymore. Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) may have cooked her own goose by telling an audience that she puts Somali interests first followed by Muslim interests. She never once said she puts America's interests on her plate. In essence, she is a foreign agent who has infiltrated the Congress. Next we spend a good amount of time on the ridiculous E. Jean Carroll case and the bias of the Judge involved. I play for you all of the sound and evidence that Trump's defensive team was not allowed to bring to the courtroom when mounting their defense. As we start to close, I remind you that President Donald Trump had already eliminated US funding for the UNRWA, but President Biden put it back and then raised it. Now we find the UNRWA participated in the October 7 massacre in Israel and once again this regime is being asked why they fund terrorists? Finally, I play an old sound bite from Carl Sagan. It's as important to hear today, maybe even more so, than when he first warned over the label of “science.” He worried that some charlatans would use the label as a means of shutting down the conversation, rather than understanding science is always skeptical and always questioning. “Three's Company” star Suzanne Somers died early Sunday morning after a lengthy cancer battle. The actress was 76 years old — just one day short of what would have been her 77th birthday. Rite Aid filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection Sunday, a casualty of a miserable environment for drug stores, exacerbated by its runner-up status to bigger chains and expensive legal battles for allegedly filling unlawful opioid prescriptions. Reports are emerging that the Hamas terrorist group is preventing civilians from evacuating northern Gaza, killing innocent Palestinians who try to leave, and preventing American citizens from using the Rafah border crossing to escape to Egypt. An airlift operation initiated by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis evacuated 300 American citizens trapped inside Israel and is set to arrive in Florida on Sunday night. Sunday, during an interview on CBS's “60 Minutes,” President Joe Biden voiced his opposition to Israeli occupation of Gaza in the wake of the Hamas terror attack on Israel. "Squad" member Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) received harsh criticism for circulating a social media post that showed photos of dead children in Syria she claimed died in Gaza in the fighting between Israel and the terrorist organization Hamas. A congressionally mandated commission has recommended the United States update and build out its nuclear posture to defend against Russia and China, according to the findings in their report. A landlord attacked one of his tenant families on Saturday, killing a 6-year-old boy and seriously wounding the boy's mother in a "cowardly" anti-Muslim crime, Illinois law enforcement said Sunday. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

The Rich Zeoli Show- Full Episode (02/13/2023): 3:05pm- On February 3rd, a freight train consisting of roughly fifty rail cars—ten of which were carrying hazardous materials—derailed in East Palestine near the Ohio-Pennsylvania border. According to reports, emergency crews purposefully ignited the contents of several rail cars, attempting to burn-off toxic chemicals. According to The Hill, three more hazardous chemicals have been discovered at the scene of the derailment. Meanwhile, Tom Perkins of The Guardian reports one of the chemicals released is phosgene, which “is a highly toxic gas that can cause vomiting and breathing trouble, and was used as a weapon in the first world war.” Should residents be concerned about health consequences?  3:20pm- On Sunday afternoon, United States fighter jets shot down a fourth mysterious flying object—this time flying 20,000 feet above Lake Huron, Michigan. In a news conference following the shootdown, Air Force General Glen VanHerck suggested the objects did not pose a military threat—though, he would not speculate on the origins of the objects. Why won't the Biden Administration be more forthcoming with information? 3:40pm- In a statement released on Monday, Senator JD Vance (R-OH) wrote of the Ohio train derailment, “[t]he local fire department has borne the brunt of this catastrophe, and they need resources from FEMA to decontaminate equipment and ensure they continue to operate.” 4:00pm- Assistant to the Secretary of Defense for Public Affairs John Kirby held a press conference on Monday to address the three flying objects that U.S. fighter jets shot down between Friday evening and Sunday afternoon. Despite speaking with the press for an extended period of time, Kirby offered no hints as to what the objects were or from where they may have originated. 4:10pm- While speaking with George Stephanopoulos on “This Week,” Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) seemed to suggest that the objects most recently shot down, according to intelligence meetings he has been a part of, are likely Chinese reconnaissance instruments. Contradicting Sen. Schumer, Rep. Jim Himes (D-CT) of the House Intel Committee told Chuck Todd that he would be surprised if the most recent flying objects were of Chinese origin.  4:30pm- While appearing at the National Association of Counties Conference, Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg did not address the massive train derailment in Ohio—but, bizarrely, did have time to discuss how too many white construction workers are employed in non-white neighborhoods. 4:35pm- Henry continues to insist that the mysterious flying objects are actually extraterrestrials…  4:40pm- Speaking from Brussels, Belgium on Monday, U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin stated, “the three objects taken down this weekend are very different from what we were talking about last week.”  Sec. Austin also noted that debris has not yet been recovered and he's uncertain if the flying objects were meant to gather intelligence.  4:55pm- Chris Stapleton performed an incredible rendition of the National Anthem at Super Bowl LVII between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles.  5:00pm- Super Bowl Commercial Review: Everyone loves Ben Affleck (except Rich) following his appearance in a Dunkin Donuts commercial and, in a world where everyone gets cancelled, how on earth is Ezra Miller still starring in D.C. 's “The Flash”? 5:25pm- Former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper has accused Politico of misrepresenting a letter he signed declaring that the Hunter Biden “laptop story” was merely Russian disinformation being used to manipulate American voters prior to the 2020 presidential election.  5:45pm- Earlier this month, Governor Ron DeSantis petitioned the College Board to alter its AP African American Studies (APAAS) course for public high schools. DeSantis explained the proposed course included things like “queer theory” and “abolishing prisons”—topics not relevant to African American history. After initially appearing to remove progressive propaganda from the course, the College Board has now indicated it will not make the alterations being requested. According to Stanley Krutz of National Review, Gov. DeSantis “has not formally accepted APAAS as a for-credit course in Florida.” 6:05pm- In response to the Ohio train derailment, Congressman Jamaal Bowman (D-NY) tweeted: “Nearly 1 million pounds of vinyl chloride were on this train. Now, the EPA has confirmed it's entered the Ohio River basin…This is one of the deadliest environmental emergencies in decades and no one is talking about it.” 6:35pm- Why is no one talking about the Ohio train derailment? The Rich Zeoli Show- Full Episode (02/02/2023):  3:05pm- On Wednesday night, Hunter Biden finally conceded that the infamous laptop abandoned at an electronics repair shop in Wilmington, Delaware belonged to him. Biden's attorney Abbe Lowell accused John Paul Mac Isaac, several Trump advisors, and Senator Rob Johnson of unlawfully accessing personal information on Biden's surrendered laptop. Lowell has requested a criminal probe into the dissemination of information from the laptop.  3:10pm- According to The Wall Street Journal, the FBI is expected to search the Indiana home of former Vice President Mike Pence.  3:25pm- When the Hunter laptop was initially uncovered prior to the 2020 Presidential Election, members of the media, as well as then-candidate Joe Biden repeatedly dismissed the laptop as Russian disinformation. Will anyone be held accountable for their politically motivated dismissal? 3:45pm- Despite dismissing the laptop abandoned at a Delaware electronics repair shop as Russian disinformation for over two-years, Hunter Biden now admits it belongs to him—but why? CNN's Dana Bash said she suspects it has something to do with Republicans now controlling the House of Representatives and their vow to investigate Hunter's foreign business dealings. 3:50pm- House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) spoke with the National Archives on Tuesday. Rep. Comer claimed the National Archives told him they have no problem with complete transparency regarding President Biden's mishandling of classified documents—leading Comer to conclude the lack of cooperation and openness is due to Merrick Garland's Department of Justice. When asked about the accusations, both White House Council Ian Sams and White House Press Secretary Karin Jean-Pierre refused to provide clarity.  4:05pm- On Thursday, Congressional Republicans voted to remove Rep. Science.org and Bloomberg have both written articles about the concern.  5:25pm- Watergate journalist Bob Woodward revealed that in 2017, he attempted to warn reporters at The Washington Post that the “Steele dossier” was illegitimate—even calling it a “garbage document.” However, his warnings were dismissed, and the newspaper continued to treat it as a genuine source of information.  5:45pm- Former Philadelphia City Councilmember and current Mayoral candidate Helen Gym apologized for attending an event at the Union League one week after the club honored Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.  6:00pm- During a House Rules Committee hearing, Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX) asked Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) if she was a Socialist—reading past statements Waters has made that endorsed socialist policies.  6:10pm- According to a report from Fox News, Rep. Maxine Waters' campaign paid Waters' daughter an estimated $192,000 for running their “slate mailer” operation from 2021 to 2022. Joe Schoffstall writes: “Waters received the green light to run the operation from the Federal Election Commission in the fall of 2004. In a "communique" posted to Rose City Counter-Info on January 31, the group stated that the vandalism, carried out by "disabled anarchists," targeted the Worker’s Tap because of "how this bar inherently operates with unmitigated COVID spread." "In the early hours of January 29th, some disabled anarchist attacked Worker’s Tap by tagging it and damaging a window. Due to the bullet-proof glass, the window’s damage would only consist of small dents," the statement read. The group said that phrases and symbols like the anarchist "A," and "161" which calls out "that it was fascists forces whom originally paved the path of COVID as a genocide since April 2020 through the blood of primarily Black and Indigenous disabled people, a road of bones which now many liberals and ableist anarchists goose-stomp on in collaboration with the fascists to maintain a “normal” for keeping bars and other viral-friendly entertainment operating at the expense of disabled lives." Additionally, the bar was tagged with "Covid Kills!" twice "to address how this bar inherently operates with unmitigated COVID spread, murdering disabled people in the process." The statement continued on to say that the act was carried out in "retaliation" to the "event organizers in the anarchist scene who contribute to the COVID pandemic by organizing super-spreader gatherings that, in the end, lead to more disabled people dying." In Multnomah County, where Portland is located, the number of new Covid-19 cases has remained under 1,000 since July. The most recent data shows that in the last full week of January, there were just 275 cases. 31 of those cases required hospitalization. This is down from a spike seen over the summer, with 3,180 cases recorded, and dramatically lower than the omicron spike seen last winter, with 11,373 cases being recorded at its peak, according to county data. The Worker’s Tap, the bar targeted by the vandalism, is a worker-owned and operated beer bar in Portland, Oregon. The bar required proof of vaccination to enter the establishment. According to its website, "Our business is run democratically and profits are split amongst our members." https://thepostmillennial.com/breaking-ilhan-omar-removed-from-foreign-affairs-committee?utm_campaign=64487 Ilhan Omar REMOVED from Foreign Affairs Committee On Thursday, Minnesota Representative Ilhan Omar, who has a long history of anti-Semitic remarks, was removed from her position on the House Foreign Affairs Committee in a 218 to 2011 party-line vote. Fox News Correspondent Chad Pergram tweeted, "The House has voted to remove Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) from the Foreign Affairs Committee. The vote was 218 to 211 with one member voting 'present.' In November, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy said he intended to remove Omar due to her history of antisemitic comments. Minority leader Hakeem Jeffries acknowledged this history on Thursday and said, "Rep. Omar certainly has made mistakes. She has used antisemitic tropes." Omer was elected to Congress in 2018, and in her long history of using antisemitic tropes has compared the boycotting of the Jewish state of Israel to the boycotting of Nazis. A move to remove Omar began in 2021 after the Democrat-led Congress removed GOP Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene from her committee assignments. White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said in a press conference that the removal was a "political stunt" and a "disservice to the American people." https://twitter.com/i/status/1621214664901230597 - Play Video New York congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said on the House floor "this is about targeting women of color" and slammed her notepad on the lecturn. https://twitter.com/i/status/1621213643860807682 - Play Video https://townhall.com/tipsheet/katiepavlich/2023/02/02/bidens-top-economic-advisor-is-bailing-n2619074 Not only is Omar out, but Biden's Top Economic Advisor Is Out President Joe Biden announced Thursday morning his top economic advisor, Brian Deese, is leaving his position at the White House. The inmate, who was known as Thomas Lamb, was convicted of kidnapping and killing a young woman in 1969 and kidnapping a second woman in 1970, according to News13. In 2007, Thomas Lamb changed his name to “Michelle.” In the years that followed, Lamb reportedly requested to be moved to a women’s facility. This request, however, was denied. But, records obtained by News13 show that Lamb was moved to a women’s prison this month (via News 13): In 2017, a U.S. District Court ruled against Lamb in a lawsuit asking the state to transfer HIM to an all-female facility, and allow him to pursue gender re-assignment surgery. An Appeals Court upheld the ruling in 2018, stating that, although it was not the treatment Lamb might want, evidence showed he was being provided treatment for gender dysphoria, and the state was not showing “deliberate indifference” to his situation. However, Kansas Dept. of Corrections records show he was transferred Jan. 27 to Topeka Correctional Facility. While it is not known if Lamb will now be allowed to go forward with the gender reassignment surgery, 13 NEWS asked KDOC public affairs director Randall Bowman whether the state would pay for the procedure if he did. Bowman would not comment on Lamb’s case specifically. “Healthcare decisions are not made by KDOC officials,” Bowman said. “Due to patient privacy concerns, KDOC and the Governor’s Office cannot comment on the specifics of medical care for any one individual.” Redballoon Not so long ago, the American dream was alive and well. His accolades are so far-reaching that his name fills the record books. He leaves the game as its all-time leader in completions (7,753), yards (89, 214), and touchdowns (649). After winning six titles playing for Coach Bill Belichick in New England, Brady mulled retirement before signing with Tampa Bay in 2020. He would go on to win his seventh Super Bowl in his first year for the Buccaneers. There, he would be reunited with his old Patriot partner in crime, Rob Gronkowski. Unfortunately for Brady and the Bucs, the last two seasons have been a bit of a downward spiral. They captured the woeful NFC South. But at 8-9, they didn’t look like they had a prayer of advancing in the postseason. They were bounced by the Dallas Cowboys in the opening round, 31-14, the team looked old and tired, even their forever-young signal caller. Tom Brady on 2022 Season, Thanks Bucs Fans Following FINAL Game | Postgame Press Conference Play 3:55-4:28 Brady certainly was no slouch during the regular season. He still threw for threw for 4694 yards and 25 touchdowns. However, he already (half-heartedly) put off retirement last year to return for one more round. He famously announced he was quitting, had a flirtation with joining the Miami Dolphins organization, and then finally acquiesced to returning to Tampa for 2022. But the fatigue and frustration were already there. And the whispers grew into full-fledged gossip as the season progressed: This looked more and more like it was Tom Brady’s final season. At least in Tampa. Now, he’s confirmed that he won’t be playing for anyone in 2023. Brady is, as he puts it into his own words, retiring “for good” this time. In his farewell video, the future NFL Hall of Famer was (as usual) reserved and reminiscent. Like so many of his famous fourth-quarter comebacks, he tried to stay calm and cool in the moment. Still, Tom Brady couldn’t hide a hint of emotion as he bid farewell to those who helped him on his epic journey. Tom Brady announces his retirement

The Rich Zeoli Show- Full Episode (01/30/2023): 3:05pm- In his latest New York Post editorial, attorney Jonathan Turley argues that the Department of Justice needs to immediately investigate documents President Joe Biden gave to the University of Delaware. Turley writes, “[t]he university is sitting on Biden documents due to a cynical 2012 arrangement… The University of Delaware has been used for years to shield potentially embarrassing documents from public review for the Biden family, including allegations that the president engaged in sexual harassment or assault as a member of the Senate. The university effectively agreed to serve as a type of lockbox for the Bidens to prevent a review of his senatorial records as he ran for higher office.” Since it has now been determined that Biden improperly stored classified materials at both his Wilmington, DE home and his University of Pennsylvania office, isn't it reasonable to conclude classified material may be improperly housed at the University of Delaware as well? Why hasn't the Justice Department acted? 3:25pm- According to the Washington Examiner, a Pennsylvania jury has found Pastor Mark Houck not guilty. The pro-life father charged with violating the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act for protesting outside of an abortion clinic was notably arrested at his home during an over-the-top FBI raid. Pastor Bill Devlin calls in to describe the scene in the courtroom—and talks about the nationwide implications of this decision.  4:05pm- On CNN's State of the Union, host Dana Bash spoke with Representatives Eric Swalwell (D-CA), Adam Schiff (D-CA), and Ilhan Omar (D-MN)—all of whom were removed from prestigious House committee assignments by Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy (R-CA). I hope you guys had an excellent Reformation Day, and that you parents got some sleep with any potential candy crazed kiddos, but if you didn’t here’s some news to keep you entertained… https://thepostmillennial.com/dhs-leaks-starting-in-2020-dhs-began-meeting-with-twitter-facebook-wikipedia-and-more-monthly-to-coordinate-content-moderation-efforts?utm_campaign=64487 DHS LEAKS: Starting in 2020, DHS began meeting with Twitter, Facebook, Wikipedia and more monthly to coordinate 'content moderation' efforts The Department of Homeland Security has been working to influence big tech platforms. This became originally evident when the Biden administration launched the ill-fated Disinformation Governance Board early in 2022, but has been a focus of their efforts even beyond that now-defunct unit, and before. Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt filed a lawsuit that revealed via appended meeting minutes that former Microsoft executive Matt Masterson, who was formerly an official with DHS, told a DHS director in February 2022 that "Platforms have got to get comfortable with gov't. It's really interesteding how hesitant they remain." This according to The Intercept. Prior to 2020, it was reported that DHS met with Twitter, Facebook, Wikipedia, and other platforms in order to coordinate "content moderation" operations. These meetings were part of an ongoing initiative which saw collusion and collaboration between DHS and big tech to determine how "misinformation" would be dealt with on those platforms. Areas that came under this purview included the withdrawal from Afghanistan, undertaken disastrously by President Joe Biden in August 2021 as well as the origins of the Covid-19 virus, which became controversial enough that users were kicked off social media platforms for expressing the hypothesis that the virus originated in a Wuhan, China lab. A Senate report found last week that this was the most likely scenario. Information that could undermine trust in financial institutions was also targeted. The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency Act, signed by President Donald Trump, opened the door to this as it formed a new branch within DHS, which then undertook to deal with online "disinformation." CISA stated its understanding that the mission of that branch of DHS was "evolved," and meant to communicate their concerns on "disinformation" to social media companies. Social media companies took DHS' word for it. DHS used concerns about "marginialized communities" to justify their reach. Much of this effort became evidence as a result of an attempt to "fight disinformation" in the lead-up to the 2020 presidential election. Both Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg and then-Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey spoke about their platform's effort to suppress and censor reporting from the New York Post. They did this, in part, because the FBI had told these platforms to watch out for a "misinformation" dump. During the elction, there were "weekly teleconference to coordinate Intelligence Community activities to counter election-related disinformation." Since then, meetings have taken place every two weeks. When the Hunter Biden laptop story broke, revealing the Biden family's influence peddling and shady overseas business dealings with Ukraine and China, social media platforms took the bait from the government and ditched the story. Countless other mainstream media outlets followed suit, going so far as to report on why they would not report on the story, citing "hacking," "misinformation," and a "Russian plot." All of these were incorrect, and many outlets, including The New York Times, had to walk it back. As a result of documents revealed in Schmitt's suit, it is now apparent that DHS officials were in fact "leading the push to expand the government's reach into disinformation," and that the government "also played a quiet role in shaping the decisions of social media giants around the New York Post story." Post-election polling showed that many Americans would not have voted for Joe Biden had they known the Hunter Biden laptop story was fact and not a disinformation plot. The case that revealed the information was brought this spring by Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt and Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry against top administration officials in US District Court for the Western District of Louisiana. It alleged that President Joe Biden and other administration officials "pressured and colluded" with Big Tech companies to censor the Hunter Biden laptop story as well as information regarding the lab leak origin theory of COVID-19 and the security of voting by mail. The lawsuit named White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki, US Surgeon General Vivek Murthy, Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services Xavier Becerra, Chief Medical Advisor and NIAID Director Dr. Anthony Fauci, Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas, and newly announced director of the DHS’s Disinformation Governance Board. Also named were the Department of Health and Human Services, the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Department of Homeland Security, and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency. The lawsuit alleges that the federal government had violated constitutional rights to suppress free speech in "one of its greatest assaults by federal government officials in the Nation’s history." San Francisco police arrived at the home and encountered Paul Pelosi, 82, and DePape struggling over a hammer. After the officers ordered them to drop the weapon, DePape allegedly seized control of it and swung it into Pelosi’s skull. Police recovered zip ties in Pelosi’s bedroom, found glass broken at the rear of the house, tape, rope, gloves and a journal, according to the FBI affidavit. Before Pelosi was taken to a hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery on a fractured skull, he told police from the ambulance that he had never seen DePape before and that the intruder showed up in his bedroom around 2:30 a.m. demanding to talk to "Nancy" – the House Speaker. The lawmaker’s husband told DePape that his wife was out, and DePape allegedly decided to wait for her to return. "Pelosi stated that his wife would not be home for several days, and then DePape reiterated that he would wait," according to the affidavit. "DePape stated that he was going to hold Nancy hostage and talk to her," the affidavit reads. "If Nancy were to tell DePape the ‘truth,’ he would let her go, and if she ‘lied,’ he was going to break ‘her kneecaps.’" "DePape also later explained that by breaking Nancy’s kneecaps, she would then have to be wheeled into Congress, which would show other Members of Congress that there were consequences to actions," the affidavit continues. DePape also allegedly admitted to breaking into the home, using the hammer to shatter a glass door and surprising Paul Pelosi in his bedroom. He also allegedly confessed to cracking the 82-year-old's skull. An Immigrations and Customers Enforcement source told Fox News Monday that DePape is in the U.S. illegally after a "longtime" visa overstay. He was born in Canada and emigrated to the U.S. about 20 years ago. DePape now faces federal charges and up to 50 years in prison according to the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Northern District of California. https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/crime/thegrio-kff-survey-black-voters-17-percent-support-defunding-police Only 17% of black voters support defunding the police: Poll Only 17% of black voters say they support defunding the police, a poll released this week found. The Survey of Black Voters, conducted by TheGrio and KFF and published on Wednesday, asked 1,000 black adults who say they are registered to vote for their opinion on policing. About half of those polled, 48%, said they would like to see police funding kept about the same, while 34% said they wanted increased financial support. Just 17% responded that they support decreased funding for police in their area. Of black voters living in urban areas, 39% supported increased funding. That's a 10-point jump from the 29% of black voters living in suburban areas who said they back increased funds for police. The poll also found that 3 in 4 black voters viewed criminal justice and policing as a "very important factor in making their decision about who to vote for," including 77% of Democrats and 68% of Republicans. The issue of crime was as important for those who made under $40,000 per year as it was for those making over $90,000 annually. The "defund the police" effort emerged through Black Lives Matter protests, which began in the early 2010s. The idea was initially dismissed as fringe but grew in prominence during the summer of 2020, when the murder of George Floyd sparked racial justice protests across the country. Notable progressives such as Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), Ilhan Omar (D-MN), Cori Bush (D-MO), and Ayanna Pressley (D-MA) became ardent supporters of the defund movement. Other prominent Democrats, such as current Democratic candidates Stacey Abrams and John Fetterman, discussed reallocating funds to social services and investing in minority communities, as well as ideas for reimagining policing, in interviews. Clips from those conversations have been used by Republicans in ads against their candidacies. Not all Democrats got on board with the defund movement, though. Both President Joe Biden and Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) made frequent note of their support for increased police funding during the 2020 election cycle and hold the same positions now. Irving’s posts from late this past week drew a statement from the NBA and a public rebuke from Nets owner Joe Tsai. Neither the league nor the team, however, convinced Irving to take down his initial post or back down in the slightest. Irving has since been rebuked by the NBA Player’s Association.

Here's what Nick Reed covers this hour: Multiple members of Congress were arrested by Capitol Police Tuesday afternoon outside the Supreme Court building during an abortion rights protest. ABC News perpetuated Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's (D-NY) fake propaganda when it shared photographs that appeared to show her and Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) being handcuffed by police. House Democrats blocked a Republican resolution that would have condemned the violence at churches and pro-life pregnancy centers. Republicans are creating “alternate” slates of electoral votes in contested battleground states in the event of a challenge of the presidential election results on the House floor — a move President Trump's senior advisor Stephen Miller previewed on Monday. This is Toby Sumpter with your CrossPolitic Daily News Brief for Friday, March 6, 2020 Nothing is Going on in the PCA, Especially Not in Missouri, Shut Up http://www.boom.lgbt/index.php/art-enter/144-a-e/1907-the-q-collective-announces-cast-of-transluminate-2020?fbclid=IwAR3q-htun27nHZRCunI2gX6bs_A-k4KhIPqNhO7nOaeK4bfaEX-syM18828 The Missouri Presbytery of the PCA and Greg Johnson's Memorial Presbyterian Church are back in the news today with the revelation that they recently hosted the Transluminate Arts Festival. The event describes itself as “a short-play festival and celebration of transgender, agender, non-binary, genderqueer, and genderfluid artists.” The event was held Feb. 27-29 and Feb. 29-March 1 at The Chapel, which is an event venue and ministry partner operated by volunteers from Memorial Presbyterian Church.  Plays that were performed included a homosexual couple discussing their testosterone shots -- presumably implying that they are women trying to be men? Another description reads: “Joe, a transgender man, and Shawna, a transgender woman, are married, and Joe is carrying their child. The bottom of the page includes a content warning: Plays may contain adult language and frank sexual situations. Remember, Greg Johnson and Memorial Presbyterian were in the news back in 2018 when they hosted the first Revoice Conference, celebrating LGBT+ and other sexual minorities and helping them live in the traditional sexual ethic. If that sounds like a contradiction to you, you wouldn't be the only one. Greg Johnson was interviewed by CrossPolitic, and you can find that discussion in our show archives at crosspolitic dot com or on our youtube page. Included in their breakout sessions were titles like What Queer Treasure will be in the New Jerusalem? This kicked up quite a dust storm, which resulted in Missouri Presbytery forming a study committee to investigate Pastor Greg Johnson and Memorial Pres.  This resulted in a presbytery committee that ultimately found that Greg Johnson and Memorial Pres did not commit any grave or serious errors at Revoice 2018 and nothing that took place there struck at the vitals of religion and it is too early to pass any judgment on whether the emphasis on the need for ‘gay spaces' is a grave or serious doctrinal error. The Missouri Presbytery also voted to commend the practice of same-sex back rubs but promised to revisit the issue next year.  Likewise, the scandal elicited a response from Mark Dalbey, President of Covenant Theological Seminary – the official seminary of the PCA, located in St. Louis in March of 2019. Dalbey responded to criticisms and questions about Revoice 2018 . While he affirmed biblical sexuality and clearly identified homosexual identity, lust, and activity as sinful, his strongest admonition was for those who have publicly accused Covenant Seminary of compromise. The video captures quite well why conservatives consistently lose ground in these discussions. President Dalbey's most vehement condemnation was for people who may have shared speculations about Covenant's involvement or influence on Revoice. He effectively called the public questions and concerns “abominations” and “perversions” and “vile affections” and called sodomy and sodomite lust merely “sin.” The clearest thing from the video is that God hates slander, hates gossip, and hates anyone who raises questions and concerns publicly that might be construed by anyone as slander or gossip. So shut up. There was not a word of rebuke for Greg Johnson or Memorial Pres or the Missouri Presbytery for causing the confusion.  Finally, remember that Greg Johnson “came out” as wishing he was a sodomite in Christianity today last year shortly before repeating the line on the floor of the PCA general assembly and receiving a round of applause. The assembly barely passed a resolution affirming the Nashville Statement (over Pastor Johnson's objections), but when another pastor read through the major Bible passages on homosexuality, his speech was objected to and a formal complaint was filed by a number of PCA delegates calling his speech intemperate. So notice that the great and heinous sin in the PCA is intemperate speech, asking questions, raising concerns publicly about public events. Sure homosex is technically a sin, but the real scandal is not churches hosting gay spaces and queer treasure inquiries. The real scandal is people being bothered by it and asking Covenant Seminary if they have anything to do with it.  Don't forget the political nature of all of this: Jesus said that His people are the light of the world and the salt of the earth. The reason President Trump would have no problem appointing a sodomite to his cabinet is because the largest conservative Reformed denomination in America cannot speak clearly on the matter. The only thing they can say clearly is that you should talk very softly and with a lisp and only raise questions privately and after an ever more private back rub, while remaining completely celibate. Don't worry no grave or serious doctrinal error will take place.   Ilhan Omar Wants Your Children https://parentalrights.org/convention-on-the-rights-back/?fbclid=IwAR3MqGCCktl2jUIu1SpahQkRfXlEsBWQOtNgfKUyLLmgIuOcI4ue06sr5Q8 From Parental Rights dot org we learn that In February, Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) introduced a resolution, House Resolution 854, to call for the US Senate to ratify theUnited Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (the Convention, or CRC). In so doing, she once more opened the door—or at least knocked on it—for international law to override parental rights in our country. On November 20, 1989, the UN General Assembly approved the CRC and opened it for ratification. Within ten months, the requisite 20 nations had adopted the treaty, bringing it into force. Since then, every nation except the United States has ratified the CRC. The United States signed the treaty under President Bill Clinton in 1995, signaling our intention to become a party to it. But it has never been ratified with the constitutionally required consent of two-thirds of the Senate as our Constitution requires, so we remain the lone holdout. But there are three solid reasons to give the Convention a solid raspberry, beyond the fact that Rep. Omar is the one who has re-introduced it into congress.  The first reason is the content of the treaty itself. The worst part is a provision that states, “in all matters concerning children, the best interest of the child shall be the primary consideration.” But for the government to make “best interest of the child” its primary consideration, it must first decide—and get to decide—what the best interest of the child actually is. In our courts today, a judge or bureaucrat doesn't get to make that determination without first reaching a finding that the child's parents are unfit (abusive or negligent). Until then, American law presumes that “natural bonds of affection lead parents to act in the best interests of their child” (Parham v. J.R.(1979), emphasis added). So who decides what your child's “best interest” is? Well, at least for the time being, you do, not the government. The CRC would change that by removing this presumption that favors parents and jumping straight to the part where a judge or bureaucrat gets to decide. In every case. The treaty also claims to protect a child's “right to access information,” which could be used to override a parent's efforts to protect their child from pornography or other harmful web content; or a “right to access to medical care,” which can be used to cut parents out of their child's medical decisions, like pumping chemicals into their bodies, like puberty blockers or abortions. Another appalling part of the Treaty is the Committee on the Rights of the Child (the Committee), an oversight panel set up by the provisions of the treaty. Since beginning their work in 1990, the Committee has exercised unchecked authority in deciding what the treaty does or does not mean and what nations must do to be in compliance. For example, when the treaty first went into effect fewer than 10 nations worldwide had any kind of ban on corporal discipline (i.e. the biblical practice of spanking), and no nation expressed any concern that it violated the rights of children. But the Committee, of its own accord and with nothing in the Convention to support it, began telling nations that they were not in compliance because they had not outlawed corporal discipline of children in every setting, including the home. As a result, dozens of nations have since enacted such laws, believing it is their international treaty obligation to do so. And that brings us to the third and biggest reason this treaty is trouble: under Article VI of our own Constitution, a ratified treaty becomes “the supreme Law of the Land.” So ratification of this treaty, which for other nations is an aspirational statement at best (and for many, such as Iran, China, and North Korea, a mere political smokescreen), in America would have the effect of passing a massive new federal law on the family. Today, nearly all family law is at the state level. And these statutes, as bad as some of them are, are still bound by the Constitution and our courts to respect the role of parents as their child's first and best line of defense. Under the CRC, those laws would become the responsibility of the United States Congress, and respect for parents would be gone. Our system—the CRC system—would then depend on judges and bureaucrats to decide what is in a child's “best interests” as defined by Congress, and ultimately, as defined by the CRC. Ratifying the Convention would leave it to that elitist, foreign committee to decide when or if our treatment of children was acceptable under the CRC. Right, a committee in Switzerland is supposed to know what is best for your child.  Fortunately, there is no significant threat of the CRC being taken up by President Trump or sent to the Senate, and there is no significant threat of this Senate giving its two-thirds consent. But lawmakers like Rep. Omar are dedicated incrementalists and groomers. They know that the way to get this eventually passed is by bringing it up over and over and over again.  Of course Christians should oppose this kind of totalitarian nonsense with every fiber of their being. But they should also recognize that the government has already made a significant claim on your children by the very existence of the public school systems, especially the Department of Education in Washington D.C. Until that office is shut down, the Feds are already claiming an interest in parenting your children, and that is wicked and evil and tyrannical. But the same thing goes for the State as well. And as my colleague Gabe has pointed out numerous times, it's also a bit of Republican insanity that continues to fund public schools that disciple children to be hard lefty progressives. It would be like we had a Muslim invasion and the Muslims opened up free schools everywhere, and Christians just mindlessly send their kids to the Muslim schools and are confused by why their kids keep turning out at Muslims. The Republican Party needs to officially repudiate the socialism of public schools and begin working to defund and privatize them all. Until then, Republicans are all soft-socialists without cajones. At least Bernie is bold enough to admit it.   This is Toby Sumpter with Crosspolitic News. From Pepe the Frog to the kidding-not-kidding white power hand sign, conservatives are increasingly using "humor" and weird "inside jokes" to spread hate-speech, bigotry, and violent threats. The latest tiresome fad is the phrase "Let's Go Brandon," which is a not-so-thinly-veiled substitute for the more blunt "Fuck Joe Biden." Republican congressmen repeat it in floor speeches, or wear face masks emblazoned with it, in the House chamber. On at least one occasion, a conservative crowd chanted it in church. Congressman Paul Gosar (R-AZ) has been censured by the House for tweeting a modified anime video depicting him killing fellow Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and slashing at President Joe Biden. In a Tuesday tweet, Omar wrote, "If the Biden administration is serious about protecting Medicare and Social Security, they must not appoint one of the biggest champions of cuts to lead their budget agency."Chris Hedges, investigative journalist, returns to enlighten us about his latest article, "The Ruling Elite's War on Truth." Hedges argues, "Joe Biden's victory instantly obliterated the Democratic Party's long-standing charge that Russia was hijacking and compromising US elections." He exposes the Democrats' cynical claims of election interference and how the twisting and stretching of truth and logic needed to keep the story afloat has destroyed and discredited institutional confidence in the US.Ajamu Baraka, 2016 US vice-presidential candidate for the Green Party; and Margaret Kimberley, editor and senior columnist at Black Agenda Report and author of "Prejudential: Black America and the Presidents," come together to review several news stories from the short week. A Washington Post article about international coronavirus policy notes that Russia, China and other nations are joining together in the struggle to deliver doses of a viable COVID-19 vaccine around the world, as the US refuses to work with the group. The article argues that this is a mistake that will cause the US to lose influence and credibility on the world stage. Also, the Trump administration is reportedly planning to designate Yemen's Houthi movement as a terrorist group in a move that may increase suffering in the war-torn, impoverished nation. Jim Kavanagh, Writer at The Polemicist and CounterPunch; and Dr. Linwood Tauheed, associate professor of economics at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, return to The Critical Hour to review the week's most important stories. The United States has reached a grim milestone by recording 2 million new COVID-19 cases in the last two weeks, and 42 states are seeing sustained increases in caseloads, the New York Times reported Wednesday. This desperate situation has led to public health agencies "acknowledging that contact tracing efforts can no longer be expected to contain the virus's spread," the Times noted. Additionally, they discuss Biden's potential Cabinet, US President Donald Trump's moves to overturn the election and US policy towards Iran in a post-Trump environment.

Rashida Tlaib. The Jewish question. Anti-Semitic tropes by Trump who danes to call himself Jesus, the BDS Movement, Israel, Joe Biden and we're just beginning when Halli and her partner in politics veteran White House correspondent Matthew Cooper talk all things politics this week on The Halli Casser-Jayne Show, the podcast posted at Halli Casser-Jayne dot com.And oh what a week it was. Anti-Semitism and Israel were the topics of the week when Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, barred Representative Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) and her cohort Ilhan Omar (D-MN) from entering Israel and the first two Muslims elected to Congress took their battle with Israel to the airwaves. Trump egged them on, called Jews who voted with the Democratic Party the old anti-Semitic trope “disloyal,” and the Democrats sided with the two Congresswomen, both who themselves have made anti-Semitic statements against Israel and are pro the BDS terrorist movement, the Palestinian economic war machine against the Jewish state. But that's not all. Joe Biden regained his double-digit lead in the Democratic Party's presidential contest, while Kamala Harris has taken a precipitous 12-point fall. Is Biden a good bet for the Dems? Why isn't Steve Bullock, Montana's popular governor and a moderate Democrat leading a Republican state not getting attention from Democratic Party voters? Is gun control dead? Will the trade war finish off Trump? Is a recession on the horizon? Trump wanted to buy Greenland, and the Danes told him no, so Trump canceled his visit to Denmark? Halli and Matt discuss whether calling Trump crazy is effective, and so much more. Here we go…join Halli and Matt on the Halli Casser-Jayne Show, the podcast posted at Halli Casser-Jayne dot com and available on all your favorite apps, and on your Alexa device, too.

It's Friday, so that means it's panel time. Hong Kong-based Cathay Pacific Airways has been caught up in the fallout of ongoing pro-democracy protests in the semi-autonomous Chinese city. Hundreds of flights were canceled this week because of protests at Hong Kong International Airport, and the airline has threatened to fire employees who take part in the demonstrations. It was announced Friday that the company's CEO Rupert Hogg and Chief Commercial Officer Paul Loo are resigning. The airline's stock has fallen almost 24% since April. What's going on in Hong Kong and why?Greenland is not for sale. That's what Ane Lone Bager, Greenland's foreign minister, told journalists who asked her about reports that US President Donald Trump has talked about the possibility of buying the territory with advisers. She said, "We are open for business, but we're not for sale." The Wall Street Journal reported Thursday that Trump has repeatedly asked advisers about buying Greenland with "varying degrees of seriousness." He's said to have asked the White House counsel to look into whether it could be done. What's with the interest in Greenland? The Trump administration is moving ahead with an $8 billion sale of F-16 fighter jets to Taiwan despite strong objections from China. The State Department late yesterday submitted the package for informal review. It would be the largest and most significant sale of weaponry to the self-governing island in years, and comes amid stalled trade talks and a deteriorating US relationship with China. Lawmakers from both parties had questioned whether the White House would scuttle the sale to soften the ground for a US-China trade deal, or otherwise use the fighter jets as a bargaining chip in deadlocked negotiations.Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) said Friday that she would not travel to Israel under “oppressive conditions” to see her 90-year-old grandmother after the Israeli government reversed course and said it would allow her to make the trip. After initially banning her and Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) from entering the country, Israel relented Friday in response to a request from Tlaib to see her grandmother, who lives in the occupied West Bank, during a four-day trip planned for next week. Hours later, Tlaib said she had decided not to travel to Israel under conditions that would have included a pledge in writing not to “promote boycotts against Israel” while there. Your thoughts? How bad will the next recession be? Prognostications vary, and we don't have great data on future events. But we've got plenty on what happened in the past, and we can look there for clues.Gibraltar's government Thursday released an Iranian supertanker detained on suspicion of violating European Union sanctions on oil exports to Syria, authorities said, in a move likely to soothe tensions with Iran even as it drew opposition from the Trump administration. The Grace 1 tanker was seized last month near Gibraltar, a British overseas territory, with 2.1 million barrels of oil, which the government suspected was destined for the Syrian port Baniyas. Its detention was at the center of a brewing crisis between Iran and the British government, which helped Gibraltar authorities impound the ship.On Monday we discussed how Yemeni separatists over the weekend seized key government and military posts in Aden – the de facto capital – raising the prospect of the South seceding. The power grab, carried out by UAE-backed forces, calls into question the unity and purpose of the Gulf Arab coalition in Yemen, launched in 2015 to restore the Yemeni government to power and roll back gains made by the Houthi rebels. Thursday on Capitol Hill there was a vigil in honor of the 41 Yemeni students killed last August in Sa'dah by an American bomb.GUESTS:Jim Kavanagh — Political analyst and commentator and editor of The Polemicist.Caleb Maupin — Journalist and political analyst who focuses his coverage on US foreign policy and the global system of monopoly capitalism and imperialism.Daniel Lazare — Journalist and author of three books: "The Frozen Republic," "The Velvet Coup" and "America's Undeclared War." Ilhan Omar (D-MN). I see this as much ado about nothing. America elected a president who ran on anti-Muslim, anti-Latinx immigrant and xenophobic rhetoric. As Ms. Manning engages in that fight, Whitney Webb in MintPress News is reporting that Ecuador has, by all indications, agreed to rescind Assange's asylum so that he may be extradited to the United States. As a consequence, the US is moving forward with its case against Assange and WikiLeaks — which began nearly a decade ago in 2010 — now that it has received assurances that Assange's extradition is a matter of when, not if. What does this mean going forward?NBC 7 Investigates has uncovered documents that show the US government created a secret database of activists, journalists and social media influencers tied to the migrant caravan and in some cases placed alerts on their passports. The documents detail an intelligence-gathering effort by United States and Mexican authorities targeting more than 50 people, including journalists, an attorney and immigration advocates. According to the investigation, "At the end of 2018, roughly 5,000 immigrants from Central America made their way north through Mexico to the United States southern border. ... As the migrant caravan reached the San Ysidro Port of Entry in south San Diego County, so did journalists, attorneys and advocates who were there to work and witness the events unfolding. But in the months that followed, journalists who covered the caravan, as well as those who offered assistance to caravan members, said they felt they had become targets of intense inspections and scrutiny by border officials." Will The Inaccuracies In Trump's Border Wall Speech Matter To His Base?

The Critical Hour

President Donald Trump went to El Paso, Texas, last night and delivered a speech highlighting why he sees the need for a border wall, as a bipartisan border deal in Congress aimed at averting another government shutdown is on its way to being written into legislation so that the House and Senate can vote on it and send it to his desk for his signature. Democrats have, in fact, supported additional federal funding for border security, but they oppose the border wall Trump proposed during his 2016 campaign. Trump's focus on “socialism” is based on more liberal Democratic presidential candidates who have called for a Medicare-for-all health care system or environmental proposals intended to lower carbon emissions. Trump said, “I've spoken to people who have been here a long time. They said when that wall went up it's a whole different ball game." Is that a correct statement? However, as CNN has repeatedly reported, per an analysis of FBI crime data and city law enforcement data by the El Paso Times, violent crime in El Paso peaked in 1993. Border fence construction didn't begin until 2008 and was completed in 2009. But violent crime went down long before the wall was built, falling 34 percent between 1993 and 2006 in the city.In a recent MintPress News article, "Ilhan Omar is Right: AIPAC Influences Congress To the Tune of $4 Million Annually," Alex Rubenstein asks, "What unites Republicans and Democrats, a former Jewish terrorist, the Republican leader in the House of Representatives, Nikki Haley, Chelsea Clinton and Liz Cheney? A Muslim lady with a mouth and some opinions, apparently. Muslim Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) has been the subject of bipartisan bullying that has reached a fever pitch since the lawmaker explicitly called out the number one Israeli lobby group in the US — the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC)." He went on to point out, "AIPAC continues its practice of using loopholes to further its agenda today. A recent documentary produced by Al Jazeera but censored by Qatar, which funds the outlet, showed how one fundraiser for a congressional candidate, organized by an unofficial 'AIPAC group,”'circumvented laws on maximum individual political contributions by pooling donors' grants together and doling out the official donations evenly among participants. And the organization's sway over Congress is difficult to dispute." What does this mean for attorneys and their clients seeking justice in these cases?
