Welcome to the first part of our two part podcast week! Today the gang will start on a Michael J Fox classic Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey! This one is also going to require everyone to bring a nice box of tissues, cause this on is going to be a tear jerker! The movie begins with Chance, a rescue dog, has found a new home with a new family that saved him from the pound. The family itself is becoming bigger as Bob Seaver is marrying Laura Burnford. Chance is the pet to the youngest child Jamie. The other animals of the family is golden retriever Shawdow, who is the pet of the oldest child Peter, and Sassy a Himalayan cat who is the pet of second oldest child Hope. Chance is unfortunately a selfish American bulldog who isn't interested in becoming part of the family and is only wanting to cause trouble every chance he gets. Shortly after the wedding the family leaves the animals with a family friend due to them having to move temporarily to San Francisco because Bob must relocate there for his job. After a week at the farm the animals begin to feel abandoned, prompting Shadow to make his way back home. Sassy and Chance both join him. This begins their incredible journey into the Sierra Nevada, where they face so many challenges. One of which is crossing rivers, one river unfortunately claims Sassy, as she falls into the river and goes over a waterfall to her apparent death. Guilt-ridden, Shadow and Chance decide to go on without her. Sassy survives though, and found by an old man named Quentin, who nurses her back to health. Over the next two days, Shadow and Chance try unsuccessfully to catch food and encounter a mountain lion, which chases them to the edge of a cliff. Shadow gets an idea to use rocks positioned like a seesaw as a way to outsmart the mountain lion. While Shadow acts as bait, Chance pounces onto the end of the rock and sends the mountain lion over the cliff and into a river. Sassy hears the dogs barking in celebration and follows the sound to rejoin them. Will the animals make it back home safely? Tune in and find out, pop the popcorn, bring the tissues, and lets enjoy this movie together!

We bid adieu to Summer by basking in the autumnal glow of one of our favorite Fall movies: Little Giants (1994). Nearly thirty years after its release, this baby still holds up, so we figured we'd chat with the man responsible for this underdog classic: director/editor extraordinaire, Duwayne Dunham. If you're not familiar, this guy's the stuff of legend. Besides hitch-hiking across the country to charm his way onto the set of Jaws (1975), Duwayne got his start as an assistant editor on One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (1975), Star Wars (1977), The Empire Strikes Back (1980), and Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981) before getting hired as lead editor of Return of the Jedi (1983) and Blue Velvet (1986). He went on to edit David Lynch's serial drama, Twin Peaks (1990-91), and the 2017 limited series, Twin Peaks: The Return, which earned him a Primetime Emmy Award and two nominations. Duwayne's directorial credits include Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey (1993), Little Giants (1994), Halloweentown (1998), as well as the upcoming film The Happy Worker. If Janusz Kaminski's use of Kodachrome in Little Giants doesn't get you excited for Fall, fear not; we call our Mom for an unexpected helping of stew appreciation. Haunted Basement is a full-service video production company that creates content to tell the story of your business or brand. The ‘90s were the best for giving us some of our favorite kids movies! This week Katie's kids join her in studio to talk about the 1993 hit movie, Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey. This one is great for young listeners to tune in to hear about the plot of the movie, that it was based on a book, and how the film all came to be! There are cat and dog jokes and the kids, ages 6 and 9, go way off script and it makes for a super cute episode! This will surely bring back nostalgia from nearly 30 years ago!Grab your VHS tapes and let's go back to a time when we all wished we had a faithful dog like Shadow, that our cat actually had the voice of Sally Fields and Chance, voiced by Michael J. Fox, finally defeats Birdzilla! Now we are “too pooped to poop!”Life. Was. Good.

“Tim Burton had just Pee-wee's Big Adventure. He was at some point in the making of Beetlejuice. Our agency didn't know what to do with either of us with our off-kilter sensibility, so they introduced us, and we immediately felt a kinship and became friends. It was pretty clear from pretty early on that we wanted to work together. We threw out ideas. Among the ideas we talked about Tim mentioned to me a drawing he had made in high school of a character who had scissors instead of hands. And I said, ‘Stop right there!; First of all, this may surprise you, it was the stupidest thing I'd ever heard in my life, so I knew it was brilliant. It was so simple and so stupid and such an obvious metaphor, I knew that it had power beyond belief. Punky Power: An Unofficial Punky Brewster Podcast and Together, We're Gonna Find Our Way: An Unofficial Silver spoons Podcas

Hey Everyone, Angela Bowen here, the host of Punky Power: An Unofficial Punky Brewster Podcast. Today, I decided to cover the sequel to Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey (1993), Homeward Bound 2: Lost In San Francisco (1996). Movie Synopsis: When adventurous pets Chance, Shadow and Sassy are accidentally separated from their vacationing owners, they're left to fend for themselves on the mean streets of San Francisco, in search for the "golden bridge" that will take them home. Having not watched this movie in a long time, I was surprised how it all started coming back to me as I was watching this. I remember first hearing about this movie when I saw the movie Jumanji in 1995. At the time I had no idea that this movie was even a thing until I saw the trailer that played before Jumanji and I was beyond excited. I received this movie on VHS for my 14th birthday back in 1996 and watched it constantly. I even named my black Labrador that I rescued from an animal shelter, Delilah after the beautiful white dog in this movie who falls in love with Chance. Let's just say Jamie's attitude got way on my nerves in this movie and Bob has not improved in the last two years as he still seems to see the pets as a major inconvenience and not understanding how much Peter and Hope love their dog Shadow and cat Sassy, and Jamie pretty much could care less if Chance disappeared forever(at least at the beginning of the movie), he whines incessantly about missing his baseball game (boo-hoo)the fact that he thinks he has time to get in some practice with his team before his family boards a plane to go camping in Canada is ridiculous after all they as his Mom tells him "we're leaving in 20 minutes" (granted this is pre 9-11 but still). Honestly, the stakes are not high at all in this movie, and I definitely saw similarities between scenes in this movie and the first. Take for instance the scene between Kate and the park ranger as he tells he what the pets are up against (bears, mountain lions etc, " Movie Quote "these animals wouldn't stand a chance out here") compared to (cars, trucks, trolleys, other strays, animal science labs and let's not forget the wackos out there Movie Quote "lost animals and cities just don't mix"). I'm surprised, for a dog who grew up on the streets, Chance is pretty clueless to how things work unless those two years as a pet erased any memory he ever had from living on the streets. As far as the voice work goes, everyone reprises their role but Shadow due to Don Ameches death after the first movie was released. Ralph Waite is ok, but he makes Shadow sound like an out of breath 80 year old man where Don Ameche was a perfect mach. Just like the first film this one is chock full of Terminator references thanks to Chance. I felt bad for Riley (worst kid/owners ever, makes Jamie seem like an angel). Overall, I enjoyed this movie for what it offers, laughs and feel good moments. I hope you all enjoy this movie review and have a great holiday weekend! ORIGINALLY PUBLISHED 05/02/2019 Now that Jeremy and Kaitlin have been in their new home for a week, it's only appropriate that we talk about a vaguely thematically-connected Disney family movie from 1993: "Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey" directed by Duwayne Dunham and featuring the voice talents of Michael J. Fox, Sally Field, and Don Ameche. Also Robert Hays is hanging around this movie.
