He Leadeth Me O Blessed Thought.... and what a blessing it is to think about God taking us by the hand, leading us, and feeling His presence! This hymn came in as a request from our dear friend, Barbara. She remembers sitting in the church pew, sitting at her mom's side, hearing her sing this song. Hymns can bring such comfort and reassurance, they can remind us of God's love and faithfulness, and they can bring up sweet memories from childhood. Taken right from the Bible, these words are powerful, encouraging, and TRUE! The poet, John Yates, had such a way with words that when our composer, Ira Sankey, read his poems, he immediately recruited him to write gospel songs for the tent meetings that he and Dwight Moody were running all over the United States and abroad. These two men were quite a pair writing many gospel hymns together, but Faith Is The Victory is arguably their most well-known.Thank you for listening! The federal parliament of Canada passed Bill C-4 with the support of all political parties and no opposition from any elected member of parliament. This bill, while purporting to protect individuals from coercion and abuse in the form of “conversion therapy,” will instead criminalize Christianity in our country. This bill's wording is sufficiently broad to allow for the criminal prosecution of Christians who would speak biblical truth into the lives of those in bondage to sexual sins like homosexuality and transgenderism. If passed by the senate, even a mother or father who offers their children freedom from sexual sin through repentance and faith in the gospel of Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 6:9-11) could be threatened with five years in jail. Our King is greatly displeased with our Members of Parliament for their sinful disregard for the spiritual and eternal well being of Canadians. But it is important to note that they have also committed high blasphemy by referring to biblical teaching as “myths” in this legislation. We all must therefore tremble to consider what terrifying judgments will be visited upon our nation for this bold gesture of hatred towards the most high God. May the Bride of Christ commit herself to mourning, fasting, and crying out in solemn prayer for forgiveness for the sins and worldliness in the church of Canada that have led to this calamity… Remember that “God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind” (2 Timothy 1:7). Consider also the words of Martin Luther: “If I profess with the loudest voice and clearest exposition every portion of the truth of God except precisely that little point which the world and the devil are at the moment attacking, I am not confessing Christ, however boldly I may be professing Christ. Where the battle rages, there the loyalty of the soldier is proved. And to be steady on all other battlefields is merely flight and disgrace if he flinches at that one point.” Rather than allow intimidation to mute our proclamation of the biblical truth about sexual sin, we earnestly pray that all the churches who confess the name of Christ would come together and stand in the gap at this critical time (Ezekiel 22:30). May our King Immanuel supply you with all grace and wisdom in these matters. In His Service, Liberty Coalition Canada

From St. Patrick in the year 433 to the churches of Ireland in 2020, we see that this hymn has a timeless message. Many hymn that utilize the old-fashioned language such as thee and thou have been lost or updated with contemporary language. We are so impressed that this hymn has been preserved all this time. ROI’s Into the Corner Office Podcast: Powerhouse Middle Market CEOs Telling it Real—Unexpected Career Conversations

Joan Maxwell grew up in rural Fairfield, NC. She graduated from Mattamuskeet High School and the University of North Carolina, where she received a BA in history. She is married to Owen Maxwell and together they currently reside in Edenton, NC. In 1988, Joan and Owen founded Regulator Marine in an abandoned A&P Grocery Store in Edenton. Regulator is now operating in an 121,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility and is one of the most well-respected brands in the boating industry. Joan and her team transitioned Regulator Marine from a job shop/manufacturing process to a highly sophisticated lean manufacturing process. Under Joan’s leadership, Regulator received ISO 9000:2008 certification, as well as the North Carolina Department of Labor’s top safety award, the North Carolina Star. In a historically male dominated industry, Joan remains active in the boating industry’s leading organization, the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA), where she served as the first female Chairperson and currently remains on the Boat Divisional Manufacturer’s Board while also serving on the NMMA’s Board. Joan focuses on learning innovative ways to improve the business that God has entrusted to her care. Currently, she is a member of C12, a Christian based leaders’ roundtable that focuses on building better businesses for a greater purpose. Joan Maxwell demonstrates and demands from her leadership team at Regulator Marine a high level of integrity and positive leadership. Her service is evident in her dedication to not only Regulator Marine, but also to the local community in which Regulator is located. Joan established a Volunteer Program at Regulator Marine which pays employees their regular wages during working hours while they volunteer their time and services to various local organizations of their choosing. In 2018, Joan established the “In His Service” program at Regulator, which oversees Regulator’s charitable giving, as well as its employee emergency assistance fund. Joan’s passion is to personally live out Regulator’s core values and to lead her team to do the same. Some of Joan’s past accomplishments include: receiving the 2018 Hammond Marine Industry Leadership Award along with her friend Kris Carroll; the Darlene Briggs Marine Woman of the Year Award and the National Association of Manufacturer’s STEP award. In the late 1990’s she worked with Erskine Bowles (former Chief of Staff for President Clinton) when both he and she were appointed to the North Carolina Rural Prosperity Taskforce by then-Governor of North Carolina, Jim Hunt. In 2004, Regulator and the Maxwells were recognized by President George H. W. Bush when they were invited to the White House along with three other businesses from across the country to discuss the needs of small businesses. In addition, she served as a past Chairman of the Edenton, North Carolina Chamber of Commerce, recognized as Chamber Person of the Year and currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Edenton Chowan Partnership – focusing on economic development. “I really believe each of us is on a journey. Those things poured into me by my parents – especially my dad – led me to the place that I am today. When I was a little girl, I’d read my Bible and when I didn’t understand I’d go to my dad to explain it. He was a great man of faith, who in his 77 years of life taught me how to both live and to die. I am humbled each day to have been his daughter. My mother was a wonderful kind person that loved and shared. There were many times we’d sit down for Thanksgiving lunch with people who were not family – just someone she knew needed to feel the love of a family on that holiday...What I have come to know and understand is that I am a beloved daughter of God. I don’t have to have all the answers. What I get the privilege of doing is praying, listening and as difficult as it is for someone who wants to “fix it” and move along – to wait on God’s perfect plan."

Today I am Celebrating my 36th Pastoral Anniversary-IHS-In His Service- Glory to God! At this time of year on October 22, I celebrate and give honor to God for choosing and calling me to the Gospel ministry as a pastor for the last 36 years. I wrote a special testimony note 9 years ago on October 22, 2009 to commemorate that date. 3 years ago, I reposted the testimony as I am doing today. I pray that it may be a blessing for someone who is also IHS. In His Service, In the service of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. My first call was as an evangelist in March of 1980. I have been 38 years in ministry. As an evangelist, the Lord has blessed me to travel in ministry around the world to Hawaii, Tokyo, Japan, Hong Kong, India, Germany, London, Washington D.C., New York, Los Angeles, New Jersey, Texas, Missouri, Illinois, Florida and all across the USA ministering the very good news of Jesus Christ, my Saviour, Lord and my God. I am led today to share the testimony of my call to the pastoral ministry. I was asked in 1982 to do a two week revival at a church in Los Angeles. I was led by the Lord to anchor the revival and to minister on each Friday. I asked 8 other ministers to assist me in the revival with each minister having one day of the revival to minister. The ministers and I gathered at my home to pray concerning that up and coming revival. We were praying in other tongues. I went to a corner in my living room and was just praying when the ceiling got my attention. The ceiling appeared to open up and I could see into the sky. There was an open bible coming down from heaven. I didn't hear anything until the open bible touched my stomach and I heard these booming words. "This day I've called you to be a pastor". I was shocked. No one around me seemed to know what was happening to me. They were still praying. I sat down on my couch in my living room and said " Oh no" I don't want to be a pastor. I had been an evangelist for two years by this time. I loved being an evangelist. I said "Lord I will walk off and leave your people" The Lord said to me "Helen, if you be willing and obedient you will eat the good of the land. It is not enough for you to be obedient to me, but you must be willing to be a pastor" I sat troubled and thought about what I was hearing and then I said "Yes Lord". Immediately, I felt as if some one placed their hand around my heart and turned it and then I heard "This day, I have given you a pastor's heart to love and care for my people" That has been now 36 years ago today and that touch from God has made all the difference in the world. I learned that there is a great difference between being a pastor and an evangelist. I have been challenged because I am a woman pastor, but I remember in the word of God in Numbers 22:21-34 how God opened the mouth of a jackass or donkey and used it to save a man's life. Now I don't equate myself or any woman called to the ministry to a jackass or donkey, however, if God will use an animal to save a man's life, how much more will He use a woman. I also stand on the word that says in Joel 2:28-29" And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my Spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions: And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit. "This was also found in Acts 2:16 But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel:17-18 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams: And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy: --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/pastorhelenprice/support
