When Queen Elizabeth's Platinum Jubilee came around, the royal family found themselves in a delicate balancing act—celebrating a historic reign while quietly dreading the public backlash that could come with Prince Andrew's appearance. The disgraced Duke of York, already stripped of most royal duties due to his ties to Jeffrey Epstein, had become a walking PR disaster. Behind the scenes, senior royals reportedly lobbied to keep him out of sight, fearing that his mere presence could taint the jubilee's legacy and draw unwanted attention to the monarchy's most embarrassing scandal. For a family obsessed with optics and tradition, Andrew's status as both son and scandal was an impossible contradiction. When Andrew ultimately appeared—albeit briefly—the backlash was swift and severe. His participation in the ceremony, including accompanying his mother to certain events, was seen by many as a tone-deaf attempt at rehabilitation. The public outcry confirmed what palace aides already knew: any association between the jubilee and Andrew risked overshadowing the Queen's milestone. In the aftermath, he was quietly pushed back into the shadows once again, his return to public life short-lived. What should have been a moment of unity and celebration became a reminder of just how fractured and cautious the House of Windsor had become under the shadow of his disgrace.to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.comBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-moscow-murders-and-more--5852883/support.

In late May 2022, Justin Welby, then the Church of England's Archbishop of Canterbury, was asked during an interview about Prince Andrew and the public reaction to him. Welby said that “forgiveness really does matter” and that “we have become a very, very unforgiving society,” adding that there is a “difference between consequences and forgiveness.” He noted that regarding Prince Andrew, “we all have to step back a bit. He's seeking to make amends and I think that's a very good thing.” At the same time, he acknowledged that issues of alleged abuse are “intensely personal and private for so many,” which means no one can dictate how others should respond.Following a backlash, Welby's office clarified that his comments on forgiveness were not intended to apply specifically to Prince Andrew, but rather were a broader comment about the kind of more “open and forgiving society” he hoped for around the time of the Queen's Platinum Jubilee. The statement emphasised that while consequences remain important, forgiveness is also part of Christian understanding of justice, mercy and reconciliation — but it explicitly did not amount to a call for the public to re-embrace the prince or dismiss accountability.to  contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.comBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-moscow-murders-and-more--5852883/support.

Her music has been described as "like a declaration of faith in the eternal verities of composition” (The Times), with "a voice overflowing not only with ideas, but also with the discipline and artistry necessary to harness them” (The Scotsman). Chosen to be a featured composer on BBC Radio 3's ‘Composer of the Week' (Five under 35, March 2015), her works have garnered many awards, from the BBC Lloyds Bank Composer of the Year award when she was just 15 to more recently The RPS Composition Prize, The Mendelssohn Scholarship, and three Ivor Novello (formally BASCA) British Composer Awards (for Psalm 1 and Stolen Rhythm in 2010, and Scenes from the Wild in 2022). She has held the posts of Leverhulme Musician in Residence (at the University of Cambridge Psychiatry Department, 2008), Rambert Composer in Residence (2012/13), Opera North/Leeds University Cultural Fellow in Opera Related Arts (2010/12), Visiting Research Fellow in the Creative Arts at Merton College Oxford (2021/2) and Visiting Fellow at Keble College Oxford (2022). Cheryl was also one of the first recipients of the PRS Composer's Fund Awards, in 2016. Cheryl has released six celebrated CDs of her music, and her works currently feature on 28 other discs. Her recent disc of vocal music, Magic Lantern Tales, has been highly praised: "the longer you listen to this beautifully crafted CD (…) the deeper you fall under its spell” (SWR2 Treffpunkt Klassik, Germany), "Frances-Hoad's Magic Lantern Tales disorientate and delight in equal measure” (Opera Today). Her 2011 CD of chamber works, The Glory Tree, was selected as "Chamber Music Choice” by BBC Music Magazine. Recent projects include Your servant, Elizabeth, commissioned by the BBC Proms for the 'Platinum Jubilee' Prom on 22nd July 2022 at the Royal Albert Hall. The work, which paid homage to both Queen Elizabeth II and William Byrd, was picked by Ivan Hewett in The Telegraph as the highlight of the 2022 Proms season: “like all the best “classical music”, it was fresh and surprising, yet rooted in tradition, and gave plenty of hope that an embattled art form has plenty of life in it yet”. Cheryl was composer-in-residence at Presteigne Festival 2019 and was Associate Composer at Oxford Lieder Festival from 2019-2021: her half-hour song cycle, everything grows extravagantly, written with poet Kate Wakeling was premiered by baritone Marcus Farnsworth and Libby Burgess in 2021 at St. John the Evangelist, Oxford and was chosen as one of the five best classical events of 2021 by The Times. The music of Cheryl Frances-Hoad is published by Chester Music Limited, part of Wise Music Group. It's the countdown to the Coronation of Charles III as King and Camilla as Queen of the United Kingdom, on May 6th at Westminster Abbey in London. Preparations are in their final stages-for the Royal Family, as well as the terrorists. Radical Islamists (Taliban, Al Qaeda and ISIS) have been recruiting their believers to take revenge on Prince Harry and the Royals, ever since he wrote about his tours of duty in Afghanistan and boasted about killing 25 terrorists in his memoir, Spare. You will hear how they have ordered Harry's death, announcing, “Let Islamic hands take their just retribution!”There are other extremists, too, who are planning to stage protests of varying sorts, including: The Republic, whose slogan is “Not My King”, to Ecoterrorists, such as Just Stop Oil, Climate Control, and Extinction Rebellion. There arealso miscellaneous anarchists, lone wolves, and common criminals - since the crowds will be a picnic for pickpockets, and more. Some claim their plans are nonviolent, such as placards and noise. Others don't hide their more violent intentions, such as tossing rape alarms at the horses. We'll also look at the preparations being made by those in charge of protecting the Royals, visiting heads of state and onlookers: Operations Golden Orb and Tower of London. There will be police, military, and terrorist task forces. But, the danger is greater than at previous big events such as the Platinum Jubilee and Queen Elizabeth's funeral, and you will hear why. Then we will look at what else Harry and Meghan have to do with it. A Prince Harry lookalike, who has been forced to disguise himself because of the threats on Harry's life, has some wise advice for the Prince. A Russian artist is selling blood-soaked copies of Spare for $10,000 - with blood from Afghans. Meghan and her family are terrorizing the Coronation in another way - with bids to steal the spotlight.
