Welcome Back to Behind the Service . Today Libby sits down with Rohini Bagrodia to discuss her work at Columbia University with the Family Flex Study which aims to capture the resiliency within families as they have traversed difficult times, as well as better understand the needs and struggles of families across the U.S.  They will also pay specific attention to the unique needs of our veteran families, recognizing that there is often a lack of resources for the larger family unit post-military separation. Rohini is a PhD candidate in clinical psychology at Teachers College, Columbia University. Her research interests focus on exploring emotion regulation patterns in children and between different family members as indicators of overall adjustment following stressful life events. While not a veteran herself, Rohini has worked in veteran mental health for the past years, motivated by the unique mental health needs of veterans and continually inspired by the phenomenal resiliency seen every day.During the height of the pandemic, Rohini, Ann-Christin Haag, and Dr. George Bonanno, developed the Family Flexibility Study, with the goal to understand how families, especially veteran families, were managing this unprecedented time. In her initial conversations with families, Rohini became all too aware of the lack of resources for veteran spouses and children post-military separation. Recognizing that just under half of current servicemen/women are parents and will ultimately separate from the military potentially looking for support, she turned her attention to better understand how the veteran experience and pivotal events thus far. She hopes her research will ultimately inform policy and connect to families to effective resources they need and deserve.Family Flex Study SignupText or callLink up on IGThank you for listening!Visit our linktree Follow us on our socialsYouTube Behind The Service Instagram Behind the Service Facebook at (1) Behind the Service | FacebookInterested in sponsoring our podcasts email us at behindtheservicepodcast@gmail.comCheck out some of our other podcasts: Peace After CombatFreedom Sisters ShowThe Optimal Response Initiative

Alyssa is a Licensed Professional Counselor turned entrepreneur after creating the Physio-Life Transformation Program, which shows high achieving professionals how to “unstuck” themselves from the hold of anxiety and walk them through how to build a life that is aligned with their values, purpose and goals.    Serving in the mental health field for 7 years, Alyssa noticed patterns across different clients whose stories and pain points varied from one another, but all led back to the same underlying causes. This broken foundation kept them in the same self-sabotaging patterns, showing up to therapy each week with little improvement to show for it.  Alyssa believes that although talk therapy is helpful and healing in its own right, transformational healing that goes from survive to thrive happens beyond 50-minute sessions.    Alyssa believes that facilitating change begins with a positive support system as well as aligning the body, mind, and spirit; focusing on the mind-body connection and healing the nervous system.Alyssa helps exhausted and disconnected high achieving individuals remove toxic relationships, crushed self-worth, exhaustion and burnout from their lives and teach them how to overcome uncontrollable overwhelm and anxiety so that they are empowered, decisive and in control of their lives. Alyssa helps them do this without having to rely on medications, supplements, doctor visits and what can often be years of fruitless therapy sessions.  If you are interested in  learning more about the work Alyssa does email her at alyssa.thechangeco@gmail.com or visit her website to sign up for a coaching session. https://alyssasullinger.com/CTA Link connects clients to download a free ebook, as well as book a free discovery call for the Physio-Life Transformation Program to overcome anxiety and overwhelm. Thank you for listening!Visit our linktree Follow us on our socialsYouTube Behind The Service Instagram Behind the Service Facebook at (1) Behind the Service | FacebookInterested in sponsoring our podcasts email us at behindtheservicepodcast@gmail.comCheck out some of our other podcasts: Peace After CombatFreedom Sisters ShowThe Optimal Response Initiative

Welcome back to Behind the Service podcast. Today Libby sits down with the author of the book, Attributes of Manhood: Stones That Build The Foundation To Weather Any Storm, Mitch Anderson who is starting a movement aimed at igniting and inspiring men to re-assume their rightful place in society. One not of tyranny, but of servitude so that our culture can once again hold men accountable to their original design! This book aims to invite men to wrestle with five key attributes pulled from the Word of God pertinent for men to assume their rightful place once again in society and, more importantly, in the home. We need to unlock the strength hidden deep within men because the weight of the world is far too great for women, or children, to carry alone. For men to accomplish their original design, we need the Spirit of God to empower us and contend for us. I hope this book inspires the men of this generation to unleash the power of Jesus Christ in their lives to overcome their basest urges and give glory back to their Designer.ATTRUBUTES OF A MANThank you for listening!Visit our linktree Follow us on our socialsYouTube Behind The Service Instagram Behind the Service Facebook at (1) Behind the Service | FacebookInterested in sponsoring our podcasts email us at behindtheservicepodcast@gmail.comCheck out some of our other podcasts: Peace After CombatFreedom Sisters ShowThe Optimal Response Initiative

Welcome to Peace After Combat with your hosts: clinical psychologists, Air Force Veterans, AUTHORS, and spouses to veterans, Dr Tiffany Tajiri and Dr. Kristina Seymour. Learn about the connection between faith, spirituality and psychology and how to find peace after painful LIFE experiences. Real Truths, through Real Talk about Real Life. Now here are your hosts, Dr. Tiffany Tajiri and Dr. Kristina Seymour. In the first episode of Peace After Combat, Libby Bates over at Behind the Service sits down with Dr Tiffany to speak to her about her book, Peace After Combat, Healing the Spiritual & Psychological Wounds of War. Dr. Tiffany Tajiri takes a hard look at the psychological trauma experienced by veterans and their loved ones and offers insight and hope for better lives. It could be your neighbor, your coworker, your son, or the woman sitting next to you in church. When combat veterans return from war, they're often confused. They struggle to reconnect with their families; the cheering crowds and smothering hugs make them want to jump out of their skin, and sometimes they even long to return to the hell of deployment. What they've experienced in combat can radically change how they view themselves, others, and the world at large. They may have never seen so much hurt, suffering, death, and destruction, which leaves them questioning, “Where is God?”https://www.buzzsprout.com/1928334 Book: Peace After Combat - (drtiffanytajiri.com)Kristina Seymour"Thank you to BetterHelp for sponsoring today's episode!Behind the Service listeners can get 10% off by visiting:https://betterhelp.com/behindtheserviceHome » Coming Home WellWe are a 501C3 nonprofit organization.Make sure you like, leave a review and share with a friend!Follow us on IG@behindtheservice@cominghomwell_btshttps://www.linkedin.com/company/coming-home-well-bts@drtiffanytajiri(1) Dr. Tiffany Tajiri-White, Psy.D., ABPP | LinkedIn@kristinaseymour1(1) Kristina Seymour | LinkedInFacebook at Behind The Service or Coming Home Well
