Welcome to a new addition of the Roman Gabriel Show, a throwback episode ! My guest is former Los Angeles Rams Pro Football Hall of Fame Defensive end Jack Youngblood. Jack's was a number one draft pick of the Rams in 1971. But even he wasn't sure about how long he would be there, with two of the greatest members of the vaunted Fearsome Foursome, and future Pro Football Hall of Famers: Merlin Olsen, and the Minister of Defense David "Deacon" Jones. Jack tells us some great stories about fitting in early on the Rams defense, the great contemporaries like Allan Page, and Bob Lilly. And of course leading the Rams defense to the 1979 Super Bowl against the Pittsburgh Steelers playing with a broken tibia. A two time NFC Defensive Player of the Year, two time sack leader, and a member of the 70's all decade team. Iv'e known Jack since I was nine years old, he played with my father the first two years of his career. Enjoy this conversation talking Los Angeles Rams Football with the great Jack Youngblood. It’s been almost three years, but Scott Fish (@ScottFish24) finally makes his return to Fitz on Fantasy. As someone who runs fantasy leagues for a living, Scott tells host Pat Fitzmaurice (@Fitz_FF) which qualities are most important for commissioners and shares a clause that should be in every set of league rules. Scott and Pat also discuss how fantasy leagues might handle the switch to a 17-game regular season. Not surprisingly, there’s some conversation about the Scott Fish Bowl. Scott talks about the most difficult aspect of putting SFB together every year, how some celebrities have found their way into the league, how last year’s unique QB scoring system went over, and future plans for live SFB drafts. He also drops a few hints at what’s in store for SFB11. Scott and Pat discuss the Dolphins’ recent trades and speculate on who the 49ers might draft No. 3 overall. Does size matter? Scott reveals whether he cares about DeVonta Smith weighing 170 pounds and Rondale Moore standing 5-7. Scott and Pat also talk about the Buccaneers’ backfield after the re-signing of Leonard Fournette. Scott spins a hell of a Fish tale about a pickleball injury, then details the depth of his hatred for actual pickles. After some conversation about sleeping habits, Scott names his WR1, and he and Pat discuss the some of the top-tier dynasty receivers. Scott also names a few players he thinks dynasty managers should be trading for, then lists a few players he had a hard time quitting. (Also, Scott and Pat cement their old-man cred in this episode with mentions of Carl Pickens, J.J. Stokes, Herschel Walker, Jack Youngblood and Craig “Ironhead” Heyward.) Last Sunday, 91,046 people came together to scream and sweat and celebrate as the Los Angeles Rams upset the Seattle Seahawks 9-3 in the Rams first regular season game at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum since 1979. This was not just a game. It was a living monument to a storied past. Joshua Neuman and Tunisha Singleton discuss the off-the-field pageantry as well as the on-the-field action. Plus, we wonder about a curious song selection announcing the team’s entrance to the field and look ahead to the Rams trip to Raymond James Stadium to take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Rosey Grier, Michael Irvin, Warren Sapp, Jack Youngblood, Jennifer Allen and Willie McGinest... The game lost a legend on Monday after the passing of Pro Football Hall of Famer David "Deacon" Jones. This special edition of "The Rich Eisen Podcast" recounts the profound impact that Deacon had, both on and off the gridiron. The final surviving member of “The Fearsome Foursome,” Rosey Grier, joins Rich to remember his teammate and longtime friend. Joining Grier and Rich during the interview is fellow Hall of Famer Michael Irvin and class of 2013 inductee Warren Sapp, who share their memories of Deacon. Rich then dials up yet another Hall of Famer, as Jack Youngblood joins the podcast to discuss what it was like learning from “The Secretary of Defense” as a rookie with the Los Angeles Rams, and also shares some good stories from their days in Canton, Ohio, for Hall of Fame inductions. Jennifer Allen, the daughter of Hall of Fame coach George Allen and sister to Washington Redskins GM Bruce Allen, phones in to share her unique perspective on Deacon. Jones was an extremely close family friend of the Allens while Jennifer was growing up and remained such until his death Monday. And lastly, our own Willie McGinest stops by the studio to share what Deacon meant to him as an outside linebacker/defensive end who played in the league 30-plus years after Deacon did, and what it was like meeting and talking to him at various NFL events they would both be at together throughout the years. Episode #31 proved to be too much show for just one podcast, so be sure after you listen to Side A, you flip it over to Side B to hear our discussion with Rank's delightful boyhood hero, the rugged Jack Youngblood. Side A: Rank ambushes the show with his one-on-one interview with Bills star Fred 'Action' Jackson; we also bring in Handsome Hank to yap about the silly controversy surrounding Ndamukong Suh's alleged remarks directed at Matt Ryan; we also talk about Timmy Tebow's short and long-term future under center; we introduce the newest Tie to our rack of producers; and we jump in the DeLorean and head to next Tuesday to see who wins this weekend's big games. Side B: Jack Youngblood kibitzes about playing on a broken leg; the (mis)treatment he's gotten from his old franchise since it moved to St Louis; the Rams' '79 run to the Super Bowl; tearing his bum on the ice in Minnesota; and more!
