The fight for the White House is over. The fight for your portfolio is just beginning. Now that Donald Trump has won the 2024 presidential election, and Republicans may end up controlling both branches of Congress, markets are reacting swiftly and strongly – and new leaders (and laggards) are emerging. In this week's MoneyShow MoneyMasters Podcast, Jim Bianco, President and Macro Strategist at Bianco Research, and Jeff Hirsch, Editor-in-Chief of The Stock Trader's Almanac and Almanac Investor, explain what is happening, why it's happening, and what you can do to adapt and profit as an investor. We start with a discussion of the just-completed election, including why we saw an effective “red sweep,” how betting markets “got things right” ahead of pollsters, and what that means for future election cycles. The conversation next covers the massive moves in equities, Treasury yields, the US dollar, gold, and Bitcoin – as well as why select market sectors and small cap stocks are cheering a Trump win. Jeff weighs in on what past presidential election cycles say about the likelihood of this post-election rally continuing into 2025, while Jim brings up the biggest fly in the ointment that could derail the bullish train. We then pivot to Fed policy and what to expect at the next few meetings...how the epic battle between Chairman Jay Powell and the bond market vigilantes will unfold...and what fixed-income strategies make the most sense for investors. Jeff also shares some of his favorite sectors and stocks, as well as which asset class he's most bullish on in a new Trump administration. Lastly, Jim and Jeff preview they'll cover at the 2024 MoneyShow Masters Symposium Sarasota, scheduled for Dec. 5-7 at the Hyatt Regency Sarasota. Jeff Hirsch is editor-in-chief of The Stock Trader's Almanac and Almanac Investor, while JC Parets and Steve Strazza are the founder and director of research at All Star Charts, respectively. In this lively, entertaining, and actionable MoneyShow MoneyMasters Podcast episode, we give viewers a 360-degree review of the market action so far in 2024...and what investors and traders should expect in the months to come.We start by talking about the technical and seasonal outlook for stocks, including why 2024 is NOT the same as 2023 when it comes to market composition and breadth. We also discuss what impact the upcoming presidential election should have on stocks and how and why Q2 could be rockier than Q1 – making it a “wait it out” period, according to Steve. The action in copper, energy, and gold gets dissected next, with JC noting that bull markets in commodities usually “last for a decade or two. They don't last for two or three years.”We move on to talk about waning momentum in the technology sector, the response of financial stocks to recent earnings reports, and whether traditionally defensive groups like utilities offer opportunity (or not). We talk about promising options trading techniques in this environment, including why iron condors can make sense. We chat about several stocks that look like good “buys” even with recent turmoil. And we discuss alternative investments like Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, and what should happen with them down the road. Finally, we review the recent MoneyShow conference in Miami that all three experts spoke at – and what attendees at the upcoming Investment Masters Symposium Silicon Valley, set for May 7-9, 2024 at the Hyatt Regency San Francisco Airport, can expect from the next round of experts there. Jeff Hirsch is editor-in-chief of The Stock Trader's Almanac, as well as the author of the 2011 book Super Boom. Carter Worth is CEO and founder of Worth Charting, as well as a technical analyst with decades of experience on Wall Street. I talked to both stock market experts at the 2024 MoneyShow/TradersEXPO Las Vegas to get their outlooks on the year – and the result is this double-barreled MoneyShow MoneyMasters Podcastsegment. In it, Jeff explains why he expects a strong year for stocks, with gains of 8% to 15% broadly speaking. His work focuses on market cycles, historical patterns, and factors like the presidential election, all of which are pointing toward a positive year. Jeff explains why investor sentiment isn't flashing any major warning signs, noting that “bullish sentiment can be bullish and stay bullish.” He goes on to explain why having a select group of leaders leading isn't necessarily a problem, either, and highlights recent improvement in market breadth. Plus, he shares some of the investments he likes right now, including in natural gas, copper, infrastructure, and more. Finally, Jeff teases a NEW forecast that will replace and supplant the Super Boom one that panned out.Next, Carter talks about the problem with traditional Wall Street strategist forecasts – and the problems this market faces. While he isn't outright bearish, he explains why stocks could struggle to power to, and through, their old highs from early 2022. His expectation? Churning and little net progress for the next six to nine months. That said, Carter does see opportunity in a handful of contrarian and compelling sectors. Among them? Energy and healthcare. He also shares his reasons why gold looks promising, and why his “bias is that rates go lower.” We wrap our discussion with the four key data points he uses as a chartist – and how they help him identify inflection points.Looking for insights and recommendations from experts like Jeff and Carter IN PERSON? Welcome to another insightful episode where our distinguished guests, Jeff Hirsch, a veritable authority in market seasonality, and Adrian Zdunczyk, a rising star in the crypto world, join us for an enlightening discussion on the intriguing world of Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies. Have you ever wondered how traditional stock market strategies could be applied to the burgeoning world of cryptocurrencies? This episode delivers a comprehensive breakdown of a collaborative seasonality study by Jeff and Adrian, revealing how they've ingeniously adapted Jeff's renowned seasonality method from the Stock Traders Almanac to chart the crypto landscape. Our guests draw compelling parallels between Bitcoin and NASDAQ, noting an astounding 400% correlation over the past eight years. In an investing universe often accused of unpredictability, their findings underscore the importance of seasonality, fundamentals, technicals, monetary policy, and market internals in crafting informed market outlooks. We also delve into the speculative nature of Bitcoin's value and the rising institutional acceptance of cryptocurrencies. Uncover how Bitcoin is carving a niche as both a digital gold and a risk asset, offering unique opportunities for investment in a world increasingly shaken by military conflict and geopolitical uncertainty. But it's not all about the big picture! Jeff and Adrian also take us on a deep dive into the programmed halving cycle of Bitcoin, explaining its far-reaching implications on market volatility, liquidity, and scarcity. They correlate this with the four-year presidential cycle, offering valuable insights for those considering incorporating Bitcoin into their portfolios. We round off the episode celebrating Adrian's recognition by Forbes magazine and appreciating both Adrian's and Mike's significant contributions to the crypto conversation. So, whether you're a seasoned crypto investor or a curious newbie, this episode is packed with fascinating insights that will leave you with a much better understanding of this revolutionary financial frontier.ANTICIPATE STOCK MARKET CRASHES, CORRECTIONS, AND BEAR MARKETS WITH AWARD WINNING RESEARCH. This week, we co-hosted a Twitter/X Space with WOLF Financial that featured speakers from our upcoming Orlando MoneyShow/TradersExpo. Mish Schneider of MarketGauge.com, Jeff Hirsch of The Stock Trader's Almanac, Carley Garner of DeCarley Trading, Kenny Polcari of SlateStone Wealth, and Danielle Shay of Simpler Trading joined us to talk about what they see is impacting the markets right now, as well as give a sneak peek of what they'll be discussing at the Orlando MoneyShow. Visit www.OrlandoMoneyShow.com for more details.
eff Hirsch is Editor-in-Chief of The Stock Trader's Almanac. In this interview, the long-time researcher of stock market seasonals and historical trends explains why the “Worst Months” are striking again on Wall Street, and how the action in 2023 is following the typical annual pattern. Hirsch warned of exactly this occurring recently, explaining that stocks would likely go on “summer vacation” in August and September – and advised investors to be less aggressive as a result. The good news? It's still a pre-election year, and Jeff believes his forecast of a “plus 15%-20%” advance for stocks is still on target. He also thinks the Federal Reserve is just about finished hiking interest rates (if not done already). Plus, he says the economic backdrop isn't too bad, the market pullback is fixing the frothy sentiment problem, and the political cycle is favorable for stocks in the fourth quarter and potentially beyond. Finally, Jeff gives a sneak peek at what he'll discuss at the MoneyShow/TradersEXPO Orlando, set for Oct. 29-31, 2023 at the Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate. Visit www.OrlandoMoneyShow.com for more info.

JC Parets · The Seasonality Episode w/ Jeff Hirsch, Author of the Stock Trader's Almanac As we make our way through the earlier stages of the most bullish time of the year, who better to talk to than Jeff Hirsch, Author of the annual Stock Trader's Almanac. When it comes to Technical Analysis, what we're doing is analyzing the behavior of the market, and therefore market participants. Seasonality falls under that umbrella and Jeff Hirsch is the ultimate authority on the subject. He's had a front row seat his entire life to how markets trend during different times of the year. In this episode, we talk about “The Best 6 months”, the 4-year Presidential Cycle, Commodities Seasonality, and we even get to learn a little more about his father Yale Hirsch, the originator of the Almanac back in the 1960s. Jeff Hirsch and I have known each other for many years and have hung out in Vegas, New York, San Francisco and hopefully many more fun cities to come in the future. So this was a blast! I hope you enjoy this as much as I did. Make sure to follow Jeff on Twitter @AlmanacTrader Click here return to the episode page

Equity strength at this time of the year is widely known as the Santa Claus Rally, but the term is somewhat misunderstood. Discovered in 1972 by Yale Hirsch, creator of the Stock Trader’s Almanac (carried on now by his son Jeff Hirsch), the real Santa Claus Rally is the final five trading days of the year and first two trading days of the following year, not just December. In other words, the official Santa Claus Rally is set to begin Thursday, December 24.Charts mentioned in the podcast:1. Jeff Hirsch is the Author of the Annual Stock Trader's Almanac. He, and before that his father Yale Hirsch, has been publishing the must-read almanac every year since 1967. This year is the 53rd edition of the Almanac and a lot of the smartest traders I know keep the most recent copy on their desk. I personally have issues I've kept going back decades. When it comes to Seasonality, whether it's the 1-year cycle, Presidential cycle, or even intra-month and intra-week cycles, Jeff is the person I turn to first. The month of January brings along a ton of information we can use to help us make decisions in the stock market the rest of the year. The track record is pretty spectacular, as we discuss in this episode. Today, Jeff uses these seasonal trends to help him in his role as Chief Strategist at Probabilities Fund Management. In this episode of the podcast we discuss what the down January might mean for the rest of this year, how markets tend to behave on Election Years and why Seasonal trends are so important to recognize. Charts and Graphs for this Episode are all available inside the 2020 Stock Trader's Almanac

Jeff Hirsch publishes the Stock Trader's Almanac, and he has a knack for picking through the data and uncovering trading trends pegged to holidays, elections - even Halloween. Jeff joins Bullseye to talk about Q4 trends, when the best six months for trading open up, and what we can expect the 2020 election to affect the markets.
Every retail brand on the planet is talking about consumer data and it’s being pitched as the magical key to personalization, which in turn promises greater loyalty and repeat purchases. Having Amazon prompt you to repurchase an item like toilet paper might seem innocuous and maybe even helpful. However, the line between personalized and downright creepy is one that brands need to pay closer attention to, especially as laws in Europe and Canada are beginning to protect consumer data. In this episode, we speak to Jeff Hirsch, founder and president of The Right Brain Studio, and professor at the University of Southern California. Instead of waiting for legislation, Jeff believes there are some really big reasons that brands should be thinking more critically about this issue right now. Jeff Hirsch is the Editor of the annual Stock Traders Almanac, an inside look at the seasonal tendencies of the stock market. As Technicians we study the behavior of the market and market participants. By analyzing how our human activities change throughout the year, as well as various other cycles, we can see the impact it has on the stock market. Yale Hirsch, Jeff's father, first started publishing the almanac in the late 1960s. In this podcast episode, Jeff tells us what it was like growing up studying charts and seasonality. He then walks us through some of the most important seasonal cycles, and what some of the implications are when markets ignore seasonal tendencies. In this podcast series we like to focus on the current market environment and this episode is no different. The Almanac Trader and I discuss the current Midterm Election year and how January got us started. There are several cycles coming together at once right now and it's fascinating to hear it directly from Jeff himself. I think this discussion about seasonality is the perfect compliment to some of the other podcasts episodes that showcase different types of technical analysis tools. "A lot of my thanks have to go to Bob (Fishkin) because he was in many ways a surrogate father figure to me besides my own dad, because he offered me opportunities that no one else had before." Kai and Michael visit Jeff Hirsch at his famed camera store, Foto Care in NYC. Jeff lays out the storied history of Foto Care from its start as the Underground Gallery on 10th Street where Duane Michals had his first solo exhibition to being one of the few camera stores left in New York that still takes pride in having relationships with and being supportive of photographers. Jeff started out as a photographer and discovered, while working at Fishkin Brothers in New Jersey, that he had a talent for solving problems for other photographers.
