Markets are doing what they often do this time of year—attempting to stabilize and rally amid choppy trading. While some are already declaring that the Santa Claus Rally is "dead," history suggests patience is warranted. The official Santa Rally window hasn't even begun yet, and statistically, the odds still favor a year-end lift. Lance Roberts breaks down why recent pullbacks below key moving averages triggered algorithmic selling—and why disciplined investors avoid knee-jerk reactions. With markets rebounding above short-term technical levels and consolidating gains from earlier in the year, the bigger takeaway is this: how you managed risk mattered far more than what you owned. As we head toward year-end and look into next year, remember—markets rotate, leadership changes, and yesterday's winners are rarely tomorrow's. Stay patient, stay disciplined, and stay focused on risk management. The end of the trading year can still lead to big market moves, says Kevin Hincks. "Less eyeballs" on the stock market means Wall Street is more susceptible to headlines. On the Fed, Kevin notes Beth Hammack as a potentially hawkish voting member effective January 1, though a neutral to dovish FOMC overall is what he believes keeps the rate cutting cycle intact. He later notes crude oil's rally as more uncertain develops around Venezuelan oil tankers being seized. ======== Schwab Network ========Empowering every investor and trader, every market day. Are you looking to save time, make money, and start winning with less risk? Then head to https://www.ovtlyr.com.Is the Santa Claus Rally real, or is it just another Wall Street myth that gets recycled every December? That is exactly what this video digs into. Instead of hype, wishful thinking, or seasonal superstition, this breakdown looks at what the Santa Claus Rally actually is, how it is defined, and why traders get themselves into trouble when they treat it like a guaranteed payday. You will hear why the Santa Claus Rally is technically real in a narrow statistical sense, covering a specific window at the end of December and the start of January. You will also see why that does not mean markets owe you anything just because the calendar flips. This is where most traders get it wrong. They confuse historical tendencies with rules, and that mindset is how accounts get wrecked. The discussion goes deeper than surface-level stats. You will see how rallies can still happen inside downtrends, why a short pop does not magically fix a bad year, and how dangerous it is to pin hopes, prayers, and holiday spending plans on a few trading days. There is also a practical walkthrough of how to think like a professional investor instead of reacting emotionally to red and green days.Half the value here is not about the Santa Claus Rally at all. It is about process. Trading does not have to be exciting, stressful, or time-consuming. When you have a real plan, decisions get boring in the best possible way. That is how professionals operate. Check signals, manage risk, execute when needed, and then move on with your life.In the middle of the video, the focus shifts to real-world execution and discipline. Positions are reviewed, exits are checked, and the result is simple. No sell signals. No new entries. No panic. That calm approach is not accidental. It is the outcome of following a structured system instead of chasing noise. Here is what you will walk away with after watching:✅ What the Santa Claus Rally actually measures and why it exists✅ Why seasonal patterns are not trading signals✅ How rallies can still occur inside bearish trends✅ Why having a plan beats guessing every single day✅ How professionals manage positions without obsessingThere is also an important mindset shift toward the end. Markets do not care how much attention you give a stock. CEOs do not care how many hours you stare at their charts. Profits follow price and rules, not obsession. The goal is to save time, reduce stress, and let your strategy do the heavy lifting. If you want to trade with structure instead of emotion, this video lays out exactly why that matters. Subscribe to the OVTLYR channel for more breakdowns like this, market structure insights, and practical trading education designed to help you think clearly when everyone else is panicking.Gain instant access to the AI-powered tools and behavioral insights top traders use to spot big moves before the crowd. Markets finished last week slightly lower but held critical support at the 20- and 50-day moving averages. As we enter the final two weeks of December—historically the strongest stretch of the month—investors are positioning for a potential Santa Claus Rally and looking ahead to 2026. Portfolio window dressing, year-end performance reporting, and managers chasing returns could provide an additional tailwind. Markets remain in a constructive consolidation near all-time highs, and early signs of sector rotation into utilities, real estate, and staples suggest improving market breadth. Futures are pointing higher this morning, indicating a positive open. For now, markets remain fine—stay invested, but continue managing risk. Futures pointed to up arrows ahead of Monday's trading session, starting the final full week of trading for 2025. Kevin Hincks warns investors that economic data, delayed or otherwise, will impact a lot of the action. He points to October's core PCE paired with November's CPI and unemployment as highlights. However, Kevin says the Santa Claus rally is coming even if it's a little delayed. He touches on President Trump's comments that he sees Kevin Hassett or Kevin Warsh heading the FOMC after Jerome Powell. ======== Schwab Network ========Empowering every investor and trader, every market day. Vigtig investorinformation.

It's Fed Day, and today's Live Q&A covers what investors should expect as markets position around the announcement, why volatility may pick up afterward, and how this week's action shapes the potential for a Santa Claus Rally. We also discuss whether the Fed has stepped back from its inflation mandate, what that means for long bonds, and how Treasury supply-and-demand dynamics factor into portfolio risk. Lance Roberts & Danny Ratliff review the growth outlook for the AI sector, the power-cost assumptions built into datacenter models, the economic effects of the "One Big Beautiful Bill," and the $125 billion in tariff revenue collected this year—along with what tariffs really contribute to inflation. Additional topics include how to read 2x–3x standard deviations using Bollinger Band concepts, which data streams matter most (and where to find them), the link between inflation and economic growth, and practical insights on silver, ETF buy-and-hold strategies, NUA planning, valuation challenges when stocks trade at 25x earnings, and the realities of the "dollar debasement" narrative. Nathan Peterson with Charles Schwab says he's surprised the chances of the FOMC cutting interest rates Wednesday are high. He warns investors to brace for a hawkish cut if it happens. Nate notes a slew of economic data still to come, paired with notable dissents among Fed governors as headwinds. As for the SPX, he talks about the index consolidation and why there needs to be a new record high for a breakout Santa Claus rally to occur. Nate explains the role Mag 7 and Big Tech play in that action.======== Schwab Network ========Empowering every investor and trader, every market day. Lance Roberts looks at both sides of the Market Cycle—the bullish liquidity-driven momentum and the bearish fundamental weaknesses. With support and resistance levels tightening around the S&P 500, and the Fed meeting, economic data, and major earnings directly ahead, investors must prepare for a market that could swing in either direction in 2026. 0:00 - INTRO 0:18 - Markets Set up for Santa Claus Rally 5:30 - Expect Sloppy Trading This Week 11:22 - Economic Summit, Elf on a Shelf, & Baylor Dating 14:42 - Market Outlook for 2026 16:36 - The Case for Bullishness 21:29: The Bullish Backdrop 24:13 - The Case for Bearishness 27:52 - Stress in Credit markets 28:36 - The Risk for Lower Returns 29:59 - Investing Strategies for 2026 35:06 - Cash Provides Optionality 38:16 - The Cost of Carrying Margin Debt 41:47 - Disposable Personal Income 44:38 - The Google Example & Margin Debt 46:10 - Margin Call call folly Hosted by RIA Advisors Chief Investment Strategist, Lance Roberts, CIO Produced by Brent Clanton, Executive Producer ------- Watch Today's Full Video on our YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tBXSsrMLmSA&list=PLVT8LcWPeAugpcGzM8hHyEP11lE87RYPe&index=1 ------- The latest installment of our new feature, Before the Bell, "Why Bitcoin Is Lagging the S&P," is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CnOnz8np7ps&list=PLwNgo56zE4RAbkqxgdj-8GOvjZTp9_Zlz&index=1 ------- Articles Mentioned in Today's Show: "Bullish Case Or Bearish Backdrop" https://realinvestmentadvice.com/resources/blog/bullish-case-or-bearish-backdrop/ -------- REGISTER for our 2026 Economic Summit, "The Future of Digital Assets, Artificial Intelligence, and Investing:" https://www.eventbrite.com/e/2026-ria-economic-summit-tickets-1765951641899?aff=oddtdtcreator ------- Watch our previous show, "Roth Conversions, Money Rules & Financial Wellness: What Actually Works?" here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PdFmXFB3sW4&list=PLVT8LcWPeAugpcGzM8hHyEP11lE87RYPe&index=1 -------- Get more info & commentary: https://realinvestm entadvice.com/newsletter/ -------- SUBSCRIBE to The Real Investment Show here: http://www.youtube.com/c/TheRealInvestmentShow -------- Visit our Site: https://www.realinvestmentadvice.com Contact Us: 1-855-RIA-PLAN -------- Subscribe to SimpleVisor: https://www.simplevisor.com/register-new -------- Connect with us on social: https://twitter.com/RealInvAdvice https://twitter.com/LanceRoberts https://www.facebook.com/RealInvestmentAdvice/ https://www.linkedin.com/in/realinvestmentadvice/ #BitcoinNews #SP500 #MarketUpdate #CryptoMarkets #PreMarket #MarketOutlook2026 #BullMarket #BearMarket #FederalReserve #StockMarketAnalysis
Verified Investing's Gareth Soloway isn't convinced Santa Claus is coming to the stock market. A Yen Carry Trade unwind is something he considers a real possibility, which will lead to a major selling event across markets. Gareth also sees the A.I. market being more fragile than many investors, pointing to concerns in circular A.I. spending and a lack of energy to power the evolving technology. His technical analysis continues to Bitcoin and its strong pullback since October. ======== Schwab Network ========Empowering every investor and trader, every market day.Options involve risks and are not suitable for all investors. Markets rallied on Wednesday before selling off into the close, but technically this is all normal behavior. After a mild 5% pullback in early November, stocks are simply consolidating gains from the April lows. Now, markets are pushing back toward resistance at the previous highs—an area that may produce some short-term volatility. If markets can break above November's highs, it opens the door for a traditional Santa Claus Rally into year-end. Even a pullback to the 50-DMA heading into Christmas would be a healthy setup. With markets on a buy signal from relatively low levels, the odds still lean toward a strong finish to 2025. Volatility may return over the next couple of weeks, and headlines will inevitably warn that "Santa isn't coming this year." But historically, two back-to-back negative Decembers are extremely rare. The technical backdrop continues to support a year-end push higher. Gene Goldman sees a low probability of a Santa Claus rally this year, arguing that “we have a terrible market backdrop” as Bitcoin drives markets lower, the Fed turns hawkish, and inflation persists. He sees “very little room for multiple expansion” and thinks that 2026 returns will only be in the single digits. However, Gene expects AI and technology to remain bullish. Another favored sector is healthcare.======== Schwab Network ========Empowering every investor and trader, every market day.Options involve risks and are not suitable for all investors. Chuck Zodda and Mike Armstrong discuss what to expect in markets this week. Why Wall Street says December may not deliver a Santa Claus rally. Shoppers, drawn by steep discounts, power through Black Friday. Gen Z shoppers aren't spending like retailers need them to. Fed's beige book shows K-Shaped split deepens among consumers. Trump says he has made his choice to lead the Fed.
Chuck Zodda and Mike Armstrong wonder if we will get the usual Santa Claus rally this year. The White House hunts for ways to lower the cost of living...they can't. Sarah Foster (Bankrate) joins the show to chat about the tale of two job markets. Disney and YouTube TV reach a deal, ending the 15-day standoff. Tim Cook could step down as Apple CEO next year. Forgotten 401(k) accounts are costing Americans billions. Layoff tactics keep changing, and the blunders keep coming.

Where is the Santa Clause Rally and why isn't it here yet? What is here however, is drones! Today we talk about the current events including drone sightings and assassinations. We highlight the lack of transparency in politics, corporate media, and Wall Street - there definitely needs to be critical thinking. We also address the "Santa Claus rally" phenomenon since it could be anecdotal as it lacks consistent data. We talk bullish market trends, year-end tax-loss selling, and being mindful of market seasonality and timing. Today we discuss... High-profile events and media narratives around it. The wealth concentrated around Washington, D.C., highlighting systemic corruption. The "Santa Claus rally" phenomenon and its historical market impact. Analysis of seasonal market trends, including tax-loss harvesting and year-end buying opportunities. Observations on the rise of 401(k) millionaires, with caution about potential biases in data reporting. The Euphorometer shows that the stock market's current euphoria level is the highest in the last 30 years, warranting caution. Despite some bearish signals, the market is generally bullish with strong momentum. Foreign holdings of U.S. assets are at historic highs, signaling confidence in the U.S. economy. Job numbers are showing some signs of softness, which requires monitoring. Investors need a clear plan, whether it's buy-and-hold or other strategies, and should stick with it through market fluctuations. Consumer bullishness is at odds with expectations for income growth, creating divergence in sentiment. The stock market's sentiment is very strong, but investors should be cautious of potential over-optimism. The idea of having a flexible plan for market shifts, especially around year-end, is highlighted. The 60/40 portfolio model is becoming outdated as it struggles to balance volatility in bullish times. Momentum investing has its risks, as trends can change unexpectedly. The U.S. deficit is rising rapidly, with projections suggesting a $3.5 trillion deficit. Inflation-adjusted home prices are at historical highs, with housing prices showing significant growth since the late 90s.
