We move over to some men's volleyball conversation after Long Beach State star freshman Moni Nikolov announced on his Instagram that he would be leaving LBSU for the professional ranks after one season. The show closes out answering questions from the text line regarding international students and NIL along with some of Ku & Paul's favorite storylines as the WNBA season begins on Friday night.
This week on Teed Up, hosts Matthew Gomez and Matthew Coleman are joined by 22 West color-commentary announcer JayDe Beaudry to discuss the upcoming men's volleyball tournament in Ohio and if No. 1 Long Beach State can win it all this season despite coming up short the past few seasons. The Beach lost to Hawai'i at the Stan Sheriff Center, making the Rainbow Warriors the 2025 Big West Tournament Champions. LBSU lost two out of three games to Hawai'i this season, but as the one seed, they can avoid both Hawai'i and UCLA until the National Championship. In other NCAA men's volleyball news, it was announced that 2024 Final Four participant Grand Canyon University will be unexpectedly closing its men's volleyball program. UC Irvine was also left out of the tournament despite such a strong regular season, snubbing the Big West of three playoff bids.Hosts: Matthew Coleman, Matthew GomezGuest: JayDe BeaudryEditor: Aidan SwanepoelProducers: El Nicklin, Aidan SwanepoelLike, comment, and follow us on your favorite platform for more content!Apple Podcastshttps://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/long-beach-current-podcasts/id1488484518Spotifyhttps://open.spotify.com/show/4HJaqJep02kHeIQy8op1n1Overcasthttps://overcast.fm/itunes1488484518/long-beach-current-podcasts

The College Basketball Experience (@TCEonSGPN) of the Sports Gambling Podcast Network releases their Big West Conference College Basketball Preview for the 2024-25 season. On the show Ryan McIntyre (@Moneyline_Mac) and Noah Bieniek (@NoahB77_) break down every single Big West basketball team and key in on how they think the conference race will shake out. Last year UC Irvine won the regular season and Long Beach State won the conference tournament. UC Irvine returns the second most minutes with one of the most experienced rosters in the conference. With Justin Hohn-Mack, Andre Henry, and Devin Tillis coming back to Irvine the Anteaters should be the team to beat once again this season. Did Russell Turner do a good enough job in the offseason to make his roster a flawless mid-major squad? Long Beach State fired Dan Monson prior to the Conference Tournament. Then Monson led LBSU to a banner and Long Beach State cashed a giant NCAA Tournament check on his behalf. Could there be some negative karma for Long Beach State's program this season with a new head coach? UC Santa Barbara took a large step back from previous season's performances. Is this a sign of the Gauchos possibly experiencing a program dip from very high expectations, or will this be a bounce back campaign? UC Riverside looks poised to have possibly their best season in their program's Division I history. But will it be enough to win a banner this season? Mac and Bieniek finish the Big West Conference College Basketball Preview with some takes. What are their projected standings at the end of the year? The guys also provide their Big West Basketball sleepers and bust predictions. The College Basketball Experience (@TCEonSGPN) of the Sports Gambling Podcast Network releases their Big Sky Conference College Basketball Preview for the 2024-25 season. On the show Ryan McIntyre (@Moneyline_Mac) and Noah Bieniek (@NoahB77_) break down every single Big Sky basketball team and key in on how they think the conference race will shake out. Last year Eastern Washington won the regular season for a 2nd straight year and Montana State won the conference tournament. The Eagles lost their head coach and the entire roster turned over. Long Beach State fired Head Coach Dan Monson before the Big West Conference Tournament. Monson proceeded to lead LBSU to a tournament title and ticket to the Big Dance. Can he continue that momentum in Cheney, Washington? Head Coach Matt Logie led the Bobcats to the NCAA Tournament in his first season. Montana State returns three starters, will they compete for banners this season? Weber State added players from the portal from higher pedigree programs, have some continuity, and they have plenty of experience. Can the Wildcats win their first league title since 2016? Northern Arizona by far returns the most minutes from the previous season. Are the Lumberjacks a contender for a conference championship this season? Mac and Bieniek finish the Big Sky Conference College Basketball Preview with some takes. What are their projected standings at the end of the year? We take you back inside an intense Long Beach Pyramid last weekend with our group behind the bench cheering on the 'Bows.
