WARRIOR CAMP Director:  DerekPhone: 208-866-0743Email: warriorcamp1@gmail.com1.  The ProblemChase and Zack are young kids.  God created them in and calls them to, a sacred, masculine identity in Him.  But they don't fully know what that is, or where to find it.  So, they both may tend to ricochet their way through childhood and adolescence without really discovering God and being inspired by who He created them to be.  To make it tougher, Chase and Zack have had a hard time finding clear tracks worth following.  Then there's the popular cultural idea that all the real fun exists outside the church, Christianity is boring, and God resembles an angry boss who likes to squash our fun.  During Chase and Zack's limited exposure to religion, it hasn't been bad, but they're starting to look elsewhere for something more. 2.  The Solution We believe in the power of fun to create inroads for the Gospel.  We believe if it's Christian, it should be better.  We believe legitimate fun is God's idea, and creating it should be our masterpiece.  Warrior Camp is passionate about reclaiming the lost territory of legitimate fun that rightly belongs to God.  How do we do this?  Through designing and hosting the most epic games, challenges, and activities we can imagine, all to give Campers an experience pulsing with unforgettable fun, and that brings honor and glory to Jesus Christ!   (BTW, if you love duck-duck-goose or cheesy VBS games, sorry but Warrior Camp isn't for you!).Pete and Jake are both unique leaders of integrity, enthusiasm, adventure and passion for God and His Word.  They love hanging out with kids and youth, pointing them to the Risen King Jesus Christ, and re-igniting the fire of Biblical Masculinity in the way God intended.  They also love competing in epic games, forging rock-solid bonds of brotherhood in Christ, and seeing God inspire a generation of boys and men after His own heart.  As Pete and Jake connect with the Campers at Warrior Camp, the walls start to come down and Chase and Zack get excited about the new thing God wants to do in their lives. Derek, President of the Board     Derek grew up in Idaho catching bugs, tadpoles, and frogs, riding bikes, climbing trees, and renovating his family's spider-infested crawlspace into a boys-only-hideout complete with defining codewords and ninja turtle vibes.  God blessed Derek with parents who's love and devotion to Christ were clear and contagious.  Even though the highschool environment wasn't easy, God used the public school context in which Derek ascended, to light a fire for bold, uncompromising faith that was passionate to 'give an answer' (1 Peter 3:15) and invite friends to church/youth group.  After highschool, Derek attended and graduated from Liberty University with a BS Degree in Youth Ministry and an MA Degree in Apologetics.  While at Liberty University, and with an unconventional origin, God inspired Derek with a vision to harness the appeal ofThe Fellowship of Christian Athletes' exciting local radio program, Heart of the Athlete, airs Saturdays at 9 am MST on KBXL 94.1 FM. I have BIG news to share on this latest episode. While I don't want to give it away in the description, even though the title of this episode is a major hint, I will share that I am making one of my wildest dreams come true. I am living it and am fully dedicated to it, and it is something that I still pinch myself about as a part of me can't fully believe it yet. On this episode I share how difficult the journey was to get where I am today, my intentions in the near future, and tears are shed because this new adventure means so much to me.  I am over the moon to know that this project and new chapter in my life I am dedicated to will contribute so much to this podcast and the work that I am doing to educate and support parents with the work of decolonizing parenthood and breaking intergenerational cycles with the purpose of raising aware and empowered kids. Here is your fresh steaming cup of Weekend Inspiration - Where do you see yourself and how will you get there? This week we sat down with Artist, Creative Healer and Mentor Juliana Naufel who I just had the pleasure of meeting in NYC. Did she manifest it or did I, I am not sure, but I know that we will cross paths again one day soon! Juliana Naufel is a Brazilian-based artist who uses affection as her primary subject. Her artworks are strongly influenced by the healing aspect of embroidering photographs as a way of making amends with the past. Naufel earned her MA Degree in Art Therapy from Universidade Cândido Mendes and her BA in Visual Arts from São Paulo's State University and is represented by PxP Contemporary and Showfields. Manifesting your dreams! For some reason when I would see all these women standing at art fairs representing their, brand, artwork, or magazine, I just thought one day I will be standing with them. It wasn't jealousy is was just something I would do, one day at least. I wasn't sure when, I didn't put it on a vision board, or focus on it at all. I just saw myself there, I cannot explain fully how it happened but I am pretty sure I manifested it! If you would of pulled me to the side 3 years ago and told me that all I had to do was make an unwavering decision that I was capable and worthy of accomplishing anything I set my mind to I would not have believed you. A decision? And all I have to do is see it happening, and trust that it will come to me? No friggin way! Years later, and a whole lotta living it up in the self help world of podcasts, books, and audiobooks. There I was on the streets of New York with a hankering for italian, saying it out loud to my manifesting boss of a friend, and us walking forward to find the Italian Market just around the corner. I mean I have a lot of these stories that are more shocking than access to a pizza in NYC. Like really BIG life changing things that I could not just explain. It took a lot longer than I thought, and definitely in a way that I was't expecting but it all happened! IT ALL HAPPENED! How did I do it you ask? Well friend, I believed I could, I didn't know exactly how I would, but I trusted that something or someone had my back and community.COMMUNITY, the big one! Really, really, really big, whether you want to start writing a book, make trolls sculptures out of wood, or climb a mountain you can find people who are doing it or have done it! They won't have done it in the same way you're going to, but I am sure they could offer up some guidance, friendship and support! Where do you see yourself and how will you get there: What are some goals or visions you have for yourself? In a week: A Month: A year: 2 years: 5 years 10 years: Find your community and a coach or mentor, or people as Juliana explains it as: "meeting your vibrational energy", whatever that looks like for you. Don't force it, just imagine what they would be and it will come to you when you are ready, so be open and ready! Visualize and meditate on these as much as possible, because all I know is this shit works! It worked for me and it can work for you too! Well before the current frenzy over “tweets gone wild,” Joe Barnes walked into businesses, for-profits, and non-profits, and would ask: “What’s your social media policy?” The usual response was: We don’t have one, or “Go talk to marketing about that.” ----more---- In his travels, he realized that nearly every business and organization he walked into, no matter what size, did not have a written social media policy, nor did they clearly understand or even know what the Federal Trade Commission requires in the way of disclosure. That’s why he wrote his book: “Social Media Ethics Made Easy: How to Comply with FTC Disclosure Requirements.” The book is available from Business Expert Press or on Amazon.  Digtal3000.net Our host today is Matthew Cummings. Welcome to the 38th CONKERS’ CORNER recorded on 17th November 2016. In this interview I have the pleasure of speaking with qualified lawyer, solicitor, corporate financier, former JP Morgan Investment Banker, entrepreneur, co-founder of Strata Partners and millionaire private investor @RoskillEdward Edward Roskill. Edward’s interests in stocks and shares began when he was around 16 years of age after being intrigued by the share price movements in the newspaper and he first started by trading put and call options. Primarily because as Edward puts it “.. with a very small amount, you could make your money do something amazing or lose it completely”. For his 18th birthday, Edward received £500 worth of shares in two companies and this was probably his first proper introduction into investing in shares. Edward went to Cambridge University where he attained an MA Degree in Law. He qualified as a lawyer in 1994 with international law firm, Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, practising corporate and commercial law, followed by merger and acquisition work. Edward then made the switch from the legal side to investment Banking, corporate finance, with Robert Fleming and JP Morgan. As an investment banker, he was involved in a variety of transactions including public and private company acquisitions and disposals, private placements, IPOs and follow-on equity offerings. Edward gained a very good ground up view of how deals were put together from his time at Fleming and JP Morgan and then in 2002 he co-founded his own advisory firm Strata Partners http://www.strata-partners.com/, advising technology companies on mergers and acquisitions. Edward focuses, in particular, on IT services, business process outsourcing and software. He has, amongst other transactions, acted for The Capita Group plc on its US$160 million public offer for IBS OpenSystems plc (2008); for IBS AB on its US$100 million sale and, by way of a “Bought IPO”, admission to AIM of IBS OpenSystems plc; for Marlin Equity Partners on its US$32 million public offer for Chelford Group Plc and for SunGard Data Systems on its US$242m successful public offer for Guardian iT plc (2002). Fourteen years on, Edward remains a partner at Strata Partners and he spends about a third of his time working with specific clients and transactions. He spends two-thirds of his time managing his family’s investments, where he focuses on small-cap and microcap AIM-listed investments. Edward’s investment strategy is one of researching smaller companies that are less well examined and less looked at by fund managers, as that is where he finds “little gems” that are sensibly valued. Even then Edward is a firm advocate of visiting the company, meeting and speaking with their management and really getting to know the business before he makes any kind of investment. This enables him to reduce his risks and increase his conviction towards his investments on the occasions that markets impact his shareholdings. Edward stresses that one of his most important tenets of investing is “don’t lose money”. The experienced and astute Edward, states “even now I find I have much to learn”. Listen now to gain insights into how Edward’s deep research, analysis and investments in mainly AIM-listed companies, has led to him becoming an accomplished entrepreneur and Millionaire ISA investor. Learn from the lessons in his successful and insightful investing journey.
