In this episode of the Flavors of Northwest Arkansas podcast, we're back in downtown Springdale as we interview Mitchell Owen, co-owner of Zelli Pasta, a homemade pasta and Italian Market on Emma.   It started out as a product of the pandemic, as like many, they were cooking quite a bit at home. When they were deciding on what to make and sell, pasta wasn't their initial plan. Mitchell tells us about what it took to get Zelli open and the first thing they ordered to start the business. As the store grew, so did the offerings, especially on the retail side once they found the proper distributors and could make it work. On the pasta side, Mitchell will tell you what they use to make theirs, what kind they make, and why making pasta to sell didn't work out so much at home before the store. Also, humidity plays a big role in pasta-making. Who knew?!? They're also about to expand, and Mitchell breaks a little news about a new product coming soon… We hope you check out this edition of the Flavors of Northwest Arkansas podcast!

Philly is a city of neighborhoods, and those neighborhoods are always changing — including the way written language is used in public spaces. I'm still smiling about my hang with Katie Feeney at the Oregon Diner in south Philly. Katie is a no-nonsense belter with a voice capable of delivering melodic Americana twang with a healthy dose of Robert Plant bravado. Hence, perhaps, the name Roberta Faceplant. At once an alter-ego and a band moniker for the well-oiled country-inflected machine she's been leading into venues all over the greater Philadelphia area, "Roberta," as she affectionately calls it, started as a way to for Katie to land a gig she wanted for an artist that sounded way more rootsy than her funk rock collective You Do You. And so, on a lark in 2018, Katie planted the seeds of a character she has no problem leaning into, unabashedly yee-hawing in front of crowds just trying to match her energy. The debut Roberta Faceplant EP - "Yee Haw Stuff" - drops on July 26, 2024. The songs range from honky tonk ravers like the title track and "Lucille," to the sincere country balladry of "Morning Joe."In addition to fronting Roberta Faceplant, You Do You, and playing a big role in RF bassist Nick Anastasi's passion project Honey Butter, Katie is also one of Philly's most beloved open mic hosts, running Tuesday nights at Milkboy South St. after having done time at Dobbs on South (my old haunt when it was called "Legendary" Dobbs), and all the way back to pre-pandemic days at Connie's Ric Rac in the Italian Market. This was honestly one of my favorite conversations for this show and I know you're going to be thoroughly entertained by her takes on such diverse topics as Mexico, Steely Dan, and clowns like me!

Cobb Police Chief Stuart VanHoozer provided updates on the case, revealing a third individual facing charges. Attendees expressed concerns about student safety and criticized the school district's response, calling for the dismissal of Principal Regina Montgomery. Superintendent Chris Ragsdale's absence drew criticism, with parents demanding accountability. Plans for future meetings were discussed, highlighting the community's determination for change and commitment to school safety. STORY 2: Acworth Man Gets Life in Prison for Fatal Shooting Brian Lee Parker, an Acworth man, has been convicted of murdering Zachary Shaw in August 2020. The incident followed a verbal altercation between Shaw and his girlfriend at a neighbor's house. Instead of seeking police assistance, Parker retrieved a firearm and confronted Shaw, shooting him seven times. Parker was found guilty of malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault, and firearm possession during a felony. He was sentenced to life in prison plus an additional five years. Cobb District Attorney Flynn D. Broady Jr. emphasized the importance of holding perpetrators accountable for their actions and highlighted the severe consequences of resorting to lethal force instead of seeking help from law enforcement.   STORY 3: Marietta Seeks to Fire Teacher Who 'Dragged' Student Out of Classroom Marietta Schools Superintendent Grant Rivera has requested the termination of Park Street Elementary teacher Terrance Wilson for alleged unprofessional conduct, including yelling at students and colleagues and dragging a student by her chair. The termination hearing proceeded in Wilson's absence, with evidence presented by the district's attorney, Randall Farmer, including a video of the alleged incident. Witnesses, including the school principal and a fellow teacher, testified about Wilson's behavior, citing instances of yelling and insubordination. The tribunal, comprising three retired administrators, will deliver its recommendation to the Marietta Board of Education within 10 days, which will then decide on Wilson's termination.   We have opportunities for sponsors to get great engagement on these shows. STORY 4: 'The Year of the Organ': First United Methodist to Host Inaugural Concert for New Instrument The First United Methodist Church of Marietta celebrates the completion of its new organ, a seven-year project costing $1.9 million, with a series of concerts marking "The Year of the Organ." Associate music director Brian Parks describes the instrument as unique and complex, comparing it to a spaceship. The inaugural concert will feature classic pieces alongside more contemporary tunes, aiming to make the organ accessible to all. The procurement of the organ involved extensive collaboration and meticulous attention to detail, ensuring its longevity. Parks emphasizes the art and science of maintaining the organ, highlighting the need for precise climate control to preserve its 3,300 pipes. Despite its challenges, Parks finds immense joy in playing the organ, conveying deep emotion through its music. The community looks forward to enjoying the sounds of the organ for generations to come. STORY 5: 'Share a Laugh, Raise a Glass': Italian Market, Wine Bar Opens in Downtown Acworth TRG Vino Market, a new Italian market and wine bar, has opened in downtown Acworth, offering hand-selected wines, artisan cheeses, and local ingredients. Owned by local veterinarian Toby Carmichael, the market aims to foster a sense of family and community. We'll be back in a moment.    Break: INGLES 6 STORY 6: Want an Active Role in Mableton's Government? Here's How A packed meeting at the South Cobb Regional Library in Mableton introduced 19 commissions, authorities, and boards to the public, offering opportunities for community involvement. Mayor Michael Owens emphasized the volunteer-run nature of these groups, which cover a range of areas from planning and public arts to housing and cultural affairs. Residents were encouraged to reach out to their local council members to express interest in joining these boards. Some notable boards include those for planning, special events, public arts, and housing. Additionally, quasi-judicial boards like the ethics, alcohol review, and zoning appeals boards were introduced, along with committees for long-term planning, downtown development, citywide development, and tourism promotion. Interested individuals can find more information on the city's website and contact their council members for further guidance. STORY 7: High Court Decision Raises Questions Around Property Rights and Competition in Healthcare The Georgia Supreme Court revisited a dispute between Wellstar Windy Hill and Emory University Hospital Smyrna, both serving Cobb County, over Windy Hill's attempt to switch from long-term to short-term care. Emory contested this, arguing it violated Windy Hill's certificate of need. The case highlights conflicts over healthcare regulations and property rights. Windy Hill argues it's exempt due to its establishment predating the certificate of need laws. The Supreme Court's decision could impact future healthcare regulation disputes. This case underscores broader debates about certificate of need laws, with some advocating for repeal to foster competition while others argue it safeguards patient care.   Frankie Olivieri Frankie Olivieri is a third-generation Italian-American and third-generation owner of historical Pat's King of Steaks. Listen in as Frankie and Drew talk about family history and doing the Hoffman Process. People come to the Process when they are serious about change and Frankie is no exception. He believes in the importance of wanting to better oneself and the power of surrounding oneself with those who want to do that, too. In the Process, Frankie saw that his life could take two very different paths. In his work through the Process, Frankie chose, and continues to choose, the Right Road, the road of compassion and taking responsibility for one's life. This is the life he wants to embrace. Frankie also shares with us the fascinating family history behind the birth of the Philly Steak and Cheese Steak Sandwiches and his famous restaurant. More about Frankie Olivieri: Pat's King of Steaks was established in 1930 by Pat Olivieri. A humble hotdog vendor who wanted something different for lunch, Pat Olivieri made a sandwich of chopped steak and onions on a crusty roll. When a cab driver said he wanted to give it a try, Pat gave him half of his sandwich. The cab driver loved it and the Philly Steak sandwich was born in South Philadelphia. President Obama orders a Philly Steak Sandwich from Frankie. Over 90 years old, Frankie's Great Uncle Pat's legacy lives on in Pat's King of Steaks. This famous restaurant has been owned and operated by the original Olivieri family since its inception. Frankie E. Olivieri is the current owner of Pat's King of Steaks. After graduating from Friends Select School in 1982, Frank was accepted to Le Cordon Bleu in Paris. He was ready to follow his dreams of a culinary degree and four years in Paris, but he got sidetracked. Frankie went on to manage his family's business. With still unfulfilled dreams of being a Chef, Frankie enrolled in The Restaurant School at Walnut Hill College. There, he received a Bachelor's Degree in Culinary Arts and Sciences. Next time you're in Philadelphia, stop by Pat's King of Steaks, 1237 E. Passyunk Ave (at 9th & Wharton Sts), and say Hi to Frankie! As mentioned in this episode: Pat Olivieri: Along with his brother, Harry Olivieri, Pat Olivieri created the Philly cheesesteak. The brothers opened Pat's King of Steaks in 1930. Pat Olivieri died in 1970. Harry's grandson Frank Jr. (Frankie!) now runs the business. The 1st Rocky Movie and the Orange Toss: When Rocky runs through the Italian Market, one of the vendors tosses Rocky an orange. This was a completely spontaneous moment. Read more about it here. World Famous Italian market, continuously running for 127 years. Quaker School, Friends Select, est. 1869 Frankie and his wife Nancy The Hoffman High: Spending seven days in the Hoffman Process is quite powerful. There are no phones and there is no driving in cars. Guided by teachers, you're engaged in many immersive, outdoor, and deep experiences that can change your nervous system.  By the last day, the physical, emotional, and spiritual effects of the work have an impact. Often, the result is the sense of a peak experience.  While that Hoffman high realistically cannot last forever, it does provide the impetus to continue the work once you leave the Process. Post-Process weekend: Participants often feel very different after completing their Process, almost like a new self who is inhabiting a new life. In order to orient and synthesize everything you have experienced and learned, we strongly recommend taking the weekend for yourself as a time for quiet integration. Hoffman Process tools: Recycling/Pre-cycling The Q2 Intensive Retreat: In the Q2: Beyond Mom & Dad, we meet you where you are today. The Q2 is all about your current life, looking at and transforming the challenges that hold you back from what you want now. We'll also look at what's in the way of being fully alive and living your visi...

When Philadelphia sports teams win big and fans celebrate in the streets, you're going to see people trying to climb poles. Street light poles, sign poles, traffic light poles, it really doesn't matter. Even the city greasing the poles downtown doesn't stop people. In fact, the tradition of climbing a greased pole in Philadelphia goes beyond the Phillies and the Eagles - there's been an annual competition in the Italian Market for decades. Here is your fresh steaming cup of Weekend Inspiration - Where do you see yourself and how will you get there? This week we sat down with Artist, Creative Healer and Mentor Juliana Naufel who I just had the pleasure of meeting in NYC. Did she manifest it or did I, I am not sure, but I know that we will cross paths again one day soon! Juliana Naufel is a Brazilian-based artist who uses affection as her primary subject. Her artworks are strongly influenced by the healing aspect of embroidering photographs as a way of making amends with the past. Naufel earned her MA Degree in Art Therapy from Universidade Cândido Mendes and her BA in Visual Arts from São Paulo's State University and is represented by PxP Contemporary and Showfields. Manifesting your dreams! For some reason when I would see all these women standing at art fairs representing their, brand, artwork, or magazine, I just thought one day I will be standing with them. It wasn't jealousy is was just something I would do, one day at least. I wasn't sure when, I didn't put it on a vision board, or focus on it at all. I just saw myself there, I cannot explain fully how it happened but I am pretty sure I manifested it! If you would of pulled me to the side 3 years ago and told me that all I had to do was make an unwavering decision that I was capable and worthy of accomplishing anything I set my mind to I would not have believed you. A decision? And all I have to do is see it happening, and trust that it will come to me? No friggin way! Years later, and a whole lotta living it up in the self help world of podcasts, books, and audiobooks. There I was on the streets of New York with a hankering for italian, saying it out loud to my manifesting boss of a friend, and us walking forward to find the Italian Market just around the corner. I mean I have a lot of these stories that are more shocking than access to a pizza in NYC. Like really BIG life changing things that I could not just explain. It took a lot longer than I thought, and definitely in a way that I was't expecting but it all happened! IT ALL HAPPENED! How did I do it you ask? Well friend, I believed I could, I didn't know exactly how I would, but I trusted that something or someone had my back and community.COMMUNITY, the big one! Really, really, really big, whether you want to start writing a book, make trolls sculptures out of wood, or climb a mountain you can find people who are doing it or have done it! They won't have done it in the same way you're going to, but I am sure they could offer up some guidance, friendship and support! Where do you see yourself and how will you get there: What are some goals or visions you have for yourself? In a week: A Month: A year: 2 years: 5 years 10 years: Find your community and a coach or mentor, or people as Juliana explains it as: "meeting your vibrational energy", whatever that looks like for you. Don't force it, just imagine what they would be and it will come to you when you are ready, so be open and ready! Visualize and meditate on these as much as possible, because all I know is this shit works! It worked for me and it can work for you too! Italian arts and culture have been a significant influence on Philadelphia dating back to Thomas Jefferson and colonial times. Throughout the ensuing decades, Italian art and architecture styles flourished, and wealthy Philadelphians traveled to Italy and brought back objects to display in emerging institutions of art and culture. New immigration formed neighborhoods—such as South Philly, home to the Italian Market—and Italian business leaders, politicians, artists, musicians and sports figures came to prominence and became part of the social fabric of the city. This glorious volume, "The Italian Legacy in Philadelphia," celebrates the history, impact, and legacy of this vibrant community, tracing four periods of key transformation in the city's political, economic, and social structures. The editors and contributors chronicle the changing dynamics of the city as Italian immigrants established themselves and as they continue to have lively interactions with people and institutions in Italy. Netflix is going to have a SOUTH PHILLY flair beginning on February 28th. So to prepare you to Netflix and Chill we are happy to welcome and talk to Chef Nick Liberato from Bravo "Top Chef Masters" and Spike TV's "Bar Rescue," as he will be part of a new show called "Restaurants on the Edge". The 6-episode premiere season takes viewers to some of the world's most spectacular locations: Visit Malta, Hong Kong, Tobermory, Ontario, Visit Costa Rica - The Costa Rica Tourism Board, Austria, and Travel Saint Lucia on the edge - mountainsides, water, white beaches, and despite their outstanding views, need a push to live up to their magnificent views. "Restaurants on the Edge" is a premium lifestyle docuseries that invites viewers into some of the world's most stunning locations, with the team of experts, Restaurateur Nick Liberato, Dennis The Prescott, and Interior Designer Karin Bohn as they not only transform the restaurants, but the owners' outlooks as well. To do this, the close-knit, light-hearted team tap into the soul of the restaurant's surroundings and communities, incorporating local tastes, flavors, and textures - remodeling in a way that is uplifting and sets the reinvigorated business and owners up for future success. Rising from humble culinary beginnings, to working at local food stands in South Philadelphia growing up with his family in the Italian Market, by age 11, Nick discovered his second love - surfing and snowboarding. Combining the two passions, Nick followed his love and while working at a local surf shop on the west coast, started his own catering company - Calidelphia - that led to him preparing meals for top celebrities including Will Smith, Tom Hanks, Beastie Boys, Barbara Streisand, Anthony Kiedis Red Hot Chili Peppers, Cher, Hank Azaria, and more. It was through a connection with Michelin-starred chef and restaurateur, Chef David Myers that Nick learned he needed to truly dive into every aspect of the business in front and in back of house to become a true restaurateur himself, and that's just what Nick did. In just a few years, Nick's catering business began to thrive and he acquired the long-time Visit California Venice Chamber of Commerce fixture, the The Venice Whaler. Struggling to move forward prior to Nick stepping in, he took the business at the Venice Whaler from a mere $300,000 in yearly sales to a whopping $4 Million in sales. Leading the charge as Executive Chef, Nick made a similar move with The Pier House, and continues to acquire, consult, and invigorate other businesses throughout Los Angeles and internationally with his expertise. Then we are thrilled to have join us Alex & Stavros Vasiliadis the owners of Bodega Bar & Kitchen one of the newest and hottest dining destinations in Midtown Village Philadelphia Center City District. Bodega is a first-of-its-kind stylish, lush, intricate and colorful new restaurant, bar and live entertainment venue that is ready to dazzle with a tantalizing blend of Latin-inspired cuisine, unique hand-crafted cocktails, and live upbeat music. Then add Bodega's all-scratch menu which features an eclectic array of contemporary cuisine with Latin inspired fare, blended together with Middle Eastern and Asian influences with a wine program designed by GM Patrice Caron and interior design for Bodega done by Linear A Design Group now you can see why everyone is talking about this place. The hospitality business can be brutal. Sometimes it can be downright cutthroat. Joining us will be Maria Campbell the Founder of Cooks Who Care to let those in the field know that support is out there if you need it. They offer healthy industry connection opportunities, leadership training, career services, development tools, mentors, outlet share thoughts and ideas, and an all-encompassing support network. To top it all off, Cooks Who Care now has health insurance information and they want to share the exclusive plans they've researched that will especially support business owners, individuals, families, part-time workers, and small businesses with less than 50 employees and you can compare plans. Returning to the studio for more fun and updates around the area will be Mark Matthews who is the Wizard of Oz behind the keyboard on one of South Jersey's most popular blogs 42 Freeway that was spotlighted by Philadelphia Inquirer. If there is something going on in South Jersey there is a good chance Mark has a pulse on what is happening with the who, what, why, and where. Over three decades, he collected some of the world’s most important impressionist, post-impressionist, and modern paintings, including works by Renoir, Cézanne, Matisse, and Picasso. He displayed them alongside African masks, native American jewelry, Greek antiquities, and decorative metalwork.    Philadelphia also hosts a large collection of Public Art which you can see while strolling along the streets of central Philadelphia. Included in these works of art is Rodin’s “The Thinker” Clothespin, LOVE and AMOR sculptures, Rocky Statue.   Notable City Buildings in Philadelphia Philadelphia is a town which has a varied and distinguished history of buildings. From the historical Betsy Ross House to the tallest USB Comcast building, Philly has a variety of extraordinary buildings spanning a significant range of history. Find the tallest buildings on this list from Curbed Philadelphia.   Fun Areas to Visit Take the advice of Visit Philly with their guide of fun things to do on South Street in Philadelphia. You’ll find the best nightlife at my old stomping grounds here, including Jon’s Bar and Grill.   I talked about Rittenhouse Square with Michael Saevett from Gluten-Free Philly. You’ll find the best gluten-free tea at the Mary Cassatt Tea Room & Garden inside the Rittenhouse Hotel. Additionally, hang around this area for great restaurants and experience the ritzier side of Philadelphia.   Historical Sites under National Park Service From the LIberty Bell to Edgar Allen Poe house, you’ll find a myriad of historical places to visit. Find out which attractions need passes, which are free, and others which you can simply walk through, such as the Liberty Bell. Get your passes well in advance by going to the National Park Service Website under the state of Pennsylvania.   Eastern State Penitentiary Eastern State Penitentiary was once the most famous and expensive prison in the world, but stands today in ruins, a haunting world of crumbling cell blocks and empty guard towers. Its vaulted, sky-lit cells once held many of America's most notorious lawbreakers, including "Slick Willie" Sutton and "Scarface" Al Capone.   Historical Markers You can find tidbits of history in the many historical markers dotting Philadelphia streets.  13th street - Mother's Day was founded by Anna Jarvis of Philadelphia, the first official day was in 1908. Honored motherhood and family life at a time of female activism. John Wannamaker was an early supporter. given federal recognition in 1914. Across from the Wannamaker Department store on 13th street in Philadelphia.   Oldest photograph on Market East. America's earliest surviving photograph was made at this location Sept. 25, 1839 using a cigar box and crude lens. Joseph Saxon of the US Mint created an image of central high school (now demolished) shortly after Daguerre had announced his process in France.   Philadelphia Markets Reading Terminal Market is located in the heart of Philadelphia at 12th and Arch Streets. RTM is an authentic Philly experience and offers a variety of dishes that are not only gluten-free, but the eating establishments are also from many different food cultures, which I love! When you're there, definitely check out Fox & Son - the only dedicated gluten-free restaurant at Reading Terminal Market. The owner, Rebecca Foxman, created a dedicated gluten-free restaurant that features such delicacies as funnel cake, fried Oreos, gluten-free corn dogs, and white birch beer. Birch beer is a northeastern beverage, similar to root beer, but on a more mouth-awakening level.    Show Resources   Grab the Guide to Traveling Gluten Free https://amzn.to/2NlZugf   Share Travel Gluten Free with a Friend! https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/travel-gluten-free/id1353825723?mt=2   Looking for a Great Travel Deal? Episode #65 Gluten-Free Philadelphia with Michael from Gluten-Free Philly   I'm excited to feature Michael Savett, from Gluten Free Philly, for this episode of Travel Gluten Free! I've been hearing about Gluten Free Philly any time I mention I'm traveling to Philadelphia to another friend or acquaintance who is gluten-free.    My guest Michael is the father of an 18-year-old son with Celiac Disease who was diagnosed at age 3. He is an attorney practicing law in New Jersey and a member of the Business Advisory Council of Beyond Celiac.   He began publishing Gluten Free Philly in March 2009, with the mission of creating and maintaining a comprehensive reference for gluten-free-friendly restaurants, bakeries, stores, and events in the Delaware Valley. In addition to his blog, he also shares weekly features on items of interest to local and national readers.   Given the reader's interest in finding safe gluten-free options in the Philadelphia area, he decided to develop a mobile app, Gluten-Free Philly, which has more than 1,700 business listings throughout southeastern Pennsylvania, southern New Jersey and all of Delaware. This is the best resource I've found if you're gluten-free and eating in these areas. He is a fantastic resource to use if you are traveling to Philadelphia or the surrounding tri-state area: Delaware, New Jersey, and southeast Pennsylvania.   In this episode, we chat about our favorite places to eat in Philadelphia, which offer gluten-free or dedicated gluten-free menus. One of my favorites, which we talk about, is Wawa, a convenience store in the Philadelphia area which not only has gluten-free offerings but a variety of paleo food choices as well! As a kid, I would ride my bike to Wawa at least once a week to buy - what else - candy! Besides candy, they offer a range of healthy snacks and foods for all types of diets. Michael gives us the 411 about Wawa beta-testing a gluten-free sandwich!    Gluten-Free Reading Terminal Market   Another one of our favorite places to eat is Reading Terminal Market. RTM is an authentic Philly experience and offers a variety of dishes that are not only gluten-free, but the eating establishments are also from many different food cultures, which I love! When you're there, definitely check out Fox & Son. The owner, Rebecca, created a dedicated gluten-free restaurant that features such delicacies as funnel cake, fried Oreos, gluten-free corn dogs, and white birch beer. Birch beer is a northeastern beverage, similar to root beer, but on a more mouth-awakening level.    While you're at Reading Terminal Market, check out these other restaurants which have safe gluten-free options Bassetts Ice Cream, Flying Monkey Bakery, Hatville Deli, Kamal’s Middle Eastern Specialities, and the Tea Leaf. So much variety in this small space! You can eat a gluten-free cheesesteak (BYOBun) at Spataro’s Cheesesteaks!   Gluten-Free Soft Pretzels at the Italian Market in Philadelphia   If you're in Philly, definitely stop by the Italian Market on 9th street in Philadelphia. Like Reading Terminal Market, the Italian Market offers a variety of food establishments in Italian food! There are fabulous gluten-free finds at the marketing, including the traditional Philadelphia foods such as gluten-free soft pretzels! Get your fill of gluten-free soft pretzels at Taffets, who also carry a variety of gluten-free baked goods such as baguettes.   If you're looking for gluten-free soft pretzels in New Jersey, head over to Bleu Bear in Haddonfield for soft-pretzel bites! Dedicated gluten-free and delicious, you'll find a variety of baked goods at Bleu Bear. When you're there, check out their gluten-free breakfast, including waffles, gluten-free doughnuts, and crepes.    Gluten-Free Subs and Hoagies    When you're a native to Philadelphia, such as Michael and I, you most likely also love another Philly native food item, the hoagie. For those of you who do not live in the northeast, a hoagie is similar to a sub but stuffed with much more meat, cheese, and other toppings. Hoagies are a veritable feast in a roll.    If you're looking for a safe hoagie or gluten-free sub sandwich, check out Jersey Mike's Subs. This is a franchise chain that has adopted safe for celiacs practices after one of the owner's children had celiacs disease, and they tested out a gluten-free bun. They now offer gluten-free sandwiches at all their locations using Udi's gluten-free bread! Michael and I chat about their process for cleaning their machines for celiacs. Perhaps you’ve had the experience of standing on some nondescript street corner, minding your own business, when a stranger comes along and tries to chat you up. Maybe you found yourself thinking "I hope this person’s not a murderer” — a fear which typically seems dramatic. But when Rachel Gladstone had a similar type of run in with her neighborhood exterminator, she was shocked to find just how plausible that concern actually was. Rachel Speaks with poet Alicia Marie Brandewie about a series of unsettling encounters with the pest control man up the street. Then Alicia takes Rachel’s surprising narrative and turns it into poetry. Versify is a production of Nashville Public Radio and The Porch — Nashville’s nonprofit literary center.  Editing for this episode came from WPLN’s Mack Linebaugh with additional editing by Anita Bugg. The episode was written, hosted, and produced by Joshua Moore. Today’s story and poem were recorded by Sean Clark at Coco’s Italian Market in February of 2018. The music is by Blue Dot Session and Lee Rosevere — found through the Free Music Archive. *The show is distributed by P-R-X. *
