Wayne Liquorman was a spiritual seeker and a family man with a successful export business, when he met his first and final guru, Ramesh Balsekar, in September 1987. In April 1989 the process of seeking ended with enlightenment. Wayne describes the event as being 'of interest only to seekers.' His first book, "No Way: A Guide for the Spiritually Advanced" was published in 1990 under the pen name Ram Tzu because he 'didn't want a bunch of miserable seekers cluttering up his living room.' Wayne did not speak publicly until Ramesh asked him to do so in 1996. The enlightenment event and its aftermath are described in Wayne's second book, "Acceptance of What Is" published in 2000. He is also the author of "Never Mind... A journey into Non-Duality". Wayne edited Consciousness Speaks and several other books by Ramesh Balsekar.

Poncho Nevarez and Justin have been friends for a decade. Poncho was elected as a State Representative in 2013. Since then, he worked his way up into powerful positions. In 2019, he ran into trouble with drugs, got clean, chose not to run again, and joins us to talk about his journey into the dark and back. His honesty is refreshing. Transcript: [music] Justin Hill: Hello, and Bienvenido, San Antonio. Welcome to The Alamo Hour. Discussing the people, places, and passion that make our city. My name is Justin Hill, a local attorney, a proud San Antonioan, and keeper of chickens and bees. On The Alamo Hour, you'll get to hear from the people that make San Antonio great and unique, and the best-kept secret in Texas. We're glad that you're here. All right. Welcome to the Alamo hour. Today's guest is Poncho Nevarez. Poncho is a current state rep of district 74? Poncho Nevarez: Yes. Justin: Covering Eagle Pass all the way out through Big Bend. I think it's one of, if not the biggest political district in the contiguous US. Poncho: In the world. [chuckles] Justin: Well, probably not. He's an injury attorney. He's a musician. He's a rancher. He has a Watusi or three, maybe, a father, husband, friend. Admittedly, and he just wrote a big article about it, we'll talk about some, an alcoholic and an addict. When he's not running for reelection, he is working on an album, apparently, which we're going to talk about a little bit as well. Poncho, thanks for being here. Poncho: Thank you for having me. I couldn't help but catch in the promo you were talking about, "This is about San Antonioans, for San Antonioans," and I would ask-- I spent a good part of my adult life in San Antonio for law school, and then because of my law practice, so if they'll claim me, [chuckles] I'd say I'm somewhat from San Antonio. Justin: So, you're co-opting me here. It's a show about San Antonio, but there's a lot of people that have some interaction or have lived here in the past that they have something to add about our city as well. Poncho: Well, it's like Eagle Pass, I'd say. It doesn't matter where you go. There's some connection to Eagle Pass. You could be standing outside the pyramids of Giza [chuckles] and there's somebody from Eagle Pass there. I think the same thing applies with San Antonio. It's the same thing. Justin: Well, good. You've got something to add. When I met you, you had a home here yet, an office here. I think you still practice law here on occasion. Poncho: Yes. I think that was back in maybe 2005 or 2006 a bit. Justin: Well, you went to law school here, and then you and I would have met around 2007, 2008, and then we worked on that case through '11 probably. Poncho: I graduated from law school '99 and then I was away. I was here in Eagle Pass for a few years and then I moved back and then Miguel Chapa and I were partnered up and we're in San Antonio. That was back in 2005 when Miguel and I got together. He'll deny this, but we put that firm together at a Hooters. [laughter] Justin: I'm not surprised by this. Poncho: True story. We were going to go to Vegas, that night, I think. It was me, Jason Hoelscher and Miguel, we were going to go to Vegas and we were killing some time and that's where we formed the firm. Justin: Well, I do a top 10. It's just a general number of questions. Sometimes it's 3, sometimes it's 10 with all of my guests to give some sort of flavor and background on who you are. The first one was, "Talk to us about your time in San Antonio." We've already knocked that one out. The next thing I want to ask you is what are some of your favorite places in San Antonio that people maybe don't know about? We talk about hidden gems in the city. Poncho: I liked the McNay, the museum a whole bunch. I really do. I lived in that neighborhood, different parts of Alamo Heights through my last two years of law school.

Sermon on the mission of Barnabas and Saul. The sermon focuses on the prayerfulness of the church who sent them off and the opposition that Paul and Barnabas faced.
A focus on Jesus as the Resurrection and Life!
In this sermon, we continue looking at the 'I am' sayings of Jesus by thinking about him saying 'I am the Good Shepherd'.
In this sermon, we think about how Peter escaped from prison by the miraculous hand of God. We see how the church prayed and how that is an example to us - and how God's purposes are never thwarted!
A final charge to Timothy. Holding onto the truth of Jesus revealed in the God-breathed Scriptures.
This is the first sermon that was preached after the union of the churches in West Kilbride.

Once described as the "Gertrude Stein of San Antonio," Marion Koogler McNay created the first museum of modern art in Texas. Over the course of her life, she collected European and American art, and especially loved the art of the American Southwest. McNay bequeathed her expansive residence, acreage, and more than 700 works of art to San Antonio in 1950. Today, the McNay Art Museum is one of the state's cultural treasures, boasting a remarkable collection of nineteenth- and twentieth-century works of art, including works by Pablo Picasso, Marc Chagall, Georgia O'Keefe, and other European and American masters.

Author of 'Averi And The Unknown' talks about her Awakening in 2003 and since then the constant peeling away of old structures and beliefs. Awakening is just the first step, then you need to clear up the whole world. She was asked by her teacher Sai Baba to hold talks on the Heart. After her Awakening also words started to emerge and she wrote a thought provoking spiritual Novel.
Author of 'Lucid Dreaming - Gateway To The Inner Self', Robert talks about his early dream experiences and how he discovered Lucid Dreaming after reading Carlos Castaneda. He quantifies the scientific evidence that now exists on this subject and explains why he feels that Lucid Dreaming is a revolutionary tool to explore the actual nature of reality. It can clearly show shadow issues and the limiting nature of self-attachments and may lead to an experience of non-dual awareness. He says: "Something pre-exists the sense of self. The making of the 'I' is a mistaken perception, the source of a whole series of errors."
Richard is author of 'The World Is My Mirror' recently published on Non-Duality Press. Blue's book is coming out in Spring 2013 on Hay House and is called Soul Plan: Reconnect With Your True Life Purpose.' Jason talks about his life and the non-dual Kabbalistic healing process he has developed. Thus the ego has within it the kernel of oneness.'
Jason is author of 'The Emergency Transformation Of Human Beings'. Peter and Kinga's book is called, 'A Big Strategy.' They all share a concern for the way our society is going and understand that any real change on the outside has to come from within. In this lively and at times quite inspiring discussion they talk about their lives and the content of their books.

Author of several books including 'Enlightenment Ain't What It's Cracked Up to Be' and Director of 'The Forge Institute for Spirituality and Social Change', Dr Forman talks about his spiritual search and how the 'pot of gold' he longed for was not what it was cracked up to be. But in time he realised that it was of a kind and nature, wholly different than anything he could have known, or wished for. He also discovered that transformation at that level comes by grace and not by self-adjustment. He says: 'It is time we stopped mistaking the content for the awareness that beholds it. Vastness issues a challenge: tell the truth so completely that there is nothing left to be afraid of.'
Healer and Author of 'The Reconnection - Heal Others, Heal Yourself'. Eric walked away from one of the most successful chiropractic practices in Los Angeles when he and others started witnessing miraculous healings. I saw that in all that time I had never really moved; rather I simply woke up."
Author of the book ' 'Solid Ground Of Being' Art talks about his search for The Truth as his life, though perfect in one way, lacked purpose and meaning.
