Send us a textDiscover the transformative power of Yoga Nidra—a practice far deeper than simply improving your sleep. This ancient yogic technique unlocks what sages call the "sleepless sleep" or Turiya state, where your highest potential awakens while your body experiences profound restoration.Contrary to popular belief, Yoga Nidra begins the moment you open your eyes each morning. By connecting to source through mantra meditation and establishing yourself as a spiritual being having a human experience, you light your inner lamp and set the foundation for extraordinary awakening throughout your day. Learn how to become "the eye of the tornado"—perfectly calm within while dynamic change swirls around you.The journey continues with powerful pranayama techniques that balance your energy channels and awaken genius-level thinking. By pressing alternately on your left and right big toes while synchronizing your breath, you'll experience remarkable mental clarity and enhanced manifestation abilities. This practice enables you to compartmentalize your focus while maintaining connection to the whole, accomplishing more with less stress. As night approaches, discover the surprisingly simple yet profoundly effective technique for entering yogic sleep: lie on your left side reading something spiritually uplifting until naturally tired, then roll to your right while surrendering completely through mantra meditation. This method transforms sleep from a biological necessity into a spiritual opportunity—a journey into the "cosmic womb" from which you emerge reborn each morning. The benefits extend far beyond better rest. Practitioners report enhanced health, decreased stress, increased manifestation abilities, and accelerated spiritual growth. You'll become a "pillar of light" attracting positive circumstances and dissolving karmic patterns naturally.Try this practice tonight and witness how it transforms both your sleep and waking consciousness. Turiya Hanover (LinkedIn) one of the founders of Path of Love. We speak of the transformation that is possible when we become honest with ourselves and its potential for the world we live in. What does it take to find out what's between yourself and love? What if your deepest pain explored will bring you to your deepest humbleness? What if this notion of equality is misconstrued - what if, instead, we're all invited to come home to the life we're meant to lead? A life where some happen to be big and some not. This is a wonderful, concrete, conversation about what it takes to come home. For more about path of love: https://pathretreats.com

Shifting from “Freedom From” to “Freedom For” – Holly's revelation in moving beyond seeking escape and instead embracing a deeper purpose and devotion in her walk with God. Opening Your Heart to Receive Jesus – The importance of allowing Christ's love to penetrate deeply, rather than getting lost in the descent of personal struggles. Partnering with Christ for True Liberation – Exploring the path to genuine freedom that comes through unity with Christ rather than self-reliance. Redeeming Eros & Embracing Purity – A powerful conversation on the sanctification of desire and preparing the heart for kingdom-centered union. Every moment and every day holds the grandness through adversities and challenges. These are six yogic teachings to multiply ourselves. Breath: Every breath has within its potency to upgrade in the layers of consciousness and arise with newer perspectives and possibilities. Each breath- from Source God Goddess to Source God Goddess. Breath beyond breath: Within in breath is the incubation of the greater You. Meditate. Step out of the limiting memory, emotion and karmic pattern into the Now zone of harmony and larger vision. Tap into the power of We, the collective grace fires of all enlightened Masters. The Now: Create the Now moment that is vibrant in attracting that which our heart desires. Be the Vortex of Light- guided, nourished, protected. Sleep: Empower ourselves in sleep to work the subconscious mind into aligning with what we truly want. Do the yoga nidra- enter the dreamless depth of sleep. Upon waking up: Climb above into the super mind states of Turiya to work realities.Supermind states of Turiya: Ride the eagle mind that glides over the big picture, in focus and passion. Be the Many as One and One as the Many!

Today on the podcast I have the honor to be speaking with Turiya Hanover for the second time, revisiting her first year of grief over the loss of her partner Maia and the associated trauma. Turiya and I share a passion: befriending death. Not everyone's cup of tea in terms of passions but you will enjoy listening to this episode if you are interested in looking behind the veils of life, birth, death, and everything in between. *Just a note on the sound quality of this episode: Given I recorded this during my sabbatical in South Africa with a different microphone than usual, the sound quality is slightly different. The revelation and exploration of this Humanistic Psychology approach took Turiya by surprise. The internal shift that she experienced was so profound, that she and her husband, set on a new course of human discovery, which led them to India. Through learning meditation, living, and working in a community under the guidance of a master, she developed a unique approach in working with people that is a synthesis of eastern insights, living awareness and western approach to humanistic psychology.Read more...Topics discussed in this episodeReviewing the first year of grief and traumaThe ongoing connection felt with MaiaThe fear of abandonmentLoneliness, aloneness, being alone and feeling alonePreparing for death in the later stages of lifeDeath-defying culture versus befriending deathResources mentioned in this episodeStephen JenkinsonLinks--> For more information, please visit Nathalie's website. --> Subscribe to the newsletter to receive updates on future episodes here.--> Join the podcast's Instagram page. Thanks for listening to HOW TO DEAL WITH GRIEF AND TRAUMA. I remember so well looking at my collection of mystic books and Nag Hammadi codices realizing I had reached a kind of dead-end, a sense that no further progress can be made without contact with a living version of those paths with us now in the Twenty-First Century, a living gnosis now, a living school of spirituality now. The actual spiritual practices, East and West, are typically never written down in old scriptures and mystical texts anyway, but remain private communications only between master and disciple. With past saints we can't sit at their feet, ask questions, take notes, or learn from them the secrets of contemplative meditation practice. As wonderful as world scriptures and the writings of past mystics might be, they are no substitute for a living spiritual path with us now in the world today, or being mentored by living spiritual teachers in-the-here-and-now. Rather than a vain attempt to figure out the methods of meditation by randomly perusing through old writings and scriptures of those who have left-the-body decades or centuries ago speculating on what their meditation techniques might have been, in Sant Mat (The Path of the Masters) the methods of sadhana (spiritual practice) are directly communicated from one generation to the next via the Living Masters of the time. "What shall I do? The world sees yet is blind -- It has forsaken bliss and runs after earthly pursuits. It idolizes stones and slaughters divine beings, Adores and worships that which has no life! The living are sacrificed at the altar of the lifeless -- The world sees yet continues to waste precious life." (Sant Namdev) "The musk is in the deer, but it seeks it not within itself: it wanders in quest of grass." (Kabir) "During deep sleep we are unable to have any knowledge of this physical body; however, after waking up we recall this body, our relations and possessions. In the same manner, when we are in the three states -- awake, sleep, dreamless sleep -- we are unable to directly perceive our inner self and God. The Saints tell us that there is yet a fourth state, called the Turiya, which is above the others. In this state we can directly perceive our own nature and know the Divine." (Swami Santsevi Ji Maharaj) "So, the path to do that is contained within this human life-form where, with the Teachings of the Masters, we leave the nine doors [of the sense organs] and come to the Tenth Door [Third Eye]. And with the Grace of the Master, we are able to see for ourselves our soul and Jyoti [the Light] within." (Baba Ram Singh) "I wandered through the cosmos in search of the treasure but found it within me." Evolution is the only thing that's ever happening, but what's the mechanism behind evolution? The Vedic perspective tells us that everything that happens in ‘the relative' is governed by the three ‘gunas.'In this episode Thom describes the three gunas as balancing agents, engaged in a constant interplay of intention, action and inaction, ensuring that everything is created in perfect harmony, and remains relevant for just as long as it needs to be, and no more. He also explains how Vedic Meditation, the art of transcending the three gunas, can be our most powerful weapon, even in the toughest of life's battles.Episode Highlights[00:56] Bhagavad Gita - Song of the Supreme Consciousness Field[03:20] Cousins Go to War[05:30] Arjuna Deeply Conflicted[07:57] "You Could Have Avoided All of This"[09:45] "Your Cousins will Destroy the Entire Culture of India"[11:53] Nistraigunyo Bhavarjuna[13:51] Yogastha Kuru Karmani[15:56] Evolutionary Force is Causing Ever More Elegant and Sophisticated Forms[18:13] Humans - Relatively Inept Athletes[20:03] But a Highly Sophisticated Human Brain[22:01] Capacity to See Cascades of Cause[23:42] Upright Neurocentric Arthropods[24:45] Sattva, Rajas and Tamas - Three Balancing Agents[26:09] Inertia of Stillness[27:46] Inertia - A Way to Stop the Vehicle[29:46] Change is Inevitable[32:01] Meditation - Be Without the Three Gunas[34:24] The Yoga Consciousness State gives the Expanded Perspective[36:41] Turiya - the Fourth Consciousness StateUseful Linksinfo@thomknoles.com https://thomknoles.com/https://www.instagram.com/thethomknoleshttps://www.facebook.com/thethomknoleshttps://www.youtube.com/c/thomknoleshttps://thomknoles.com/ask-thom-anything/

Social Media Specialist Turiya Hodge says that social media is a serving tool. She says that even though business owners are encouraged to position products and services on the web they should look at social media as a way to serve customers and not just a means to sell to them. Turiya says “ You might put out a message, you might do a post, you might drop a video. And you're looking at social media and you might see your stats, you know. You might not have a like, or you might not have a comment, or your engagement might not be where you want it to be or where you think it should be. And then all of a sudden out of the blue, you go to a networking event, you go out into your community, or someone reaches out to you on a platform and says, "you know what? I've been listening, I've been following you". You said X, Y, Z, and this is how this has had an impact on my life. These are the things that I've been able to do since you've shared that message. And it's just that thing. It's the thing with social media, we have the ability to create these amazing experiences, you know, for our audience. And a lot of times we don't know that these things are happening, that this is the impact that we're having on people until someone, you know, shows up and shares and says, this is how, what you've shared has impacted me. And so that's one of my joys with social media. And that's why I encourage all of my clients, my audience is to never stop, you know, doing what you're doing, never stop serving. “

Co-founder of 'The Path of Love' seminars. In 1972, Turiya and her husband were part of developing the first German Humanistic Psychology Growth Centre known as Zist. The internal shift that she experienced there was profound and set her and her husband on a new course of human development, which lead them to India where she was to meet and become a disciple of Bhagwan/Osho. The sudden, unexpected death of her husband marked a turning point for Turiya and deeply influenced her own personal search and how she works with people today. In this interview she talks honestly and openly about her life and her spiritual journey.
Today I speak with Turiya, who – among other losses and traumas - shares the turning point in her life when she lost her then 33-year-old husband Welf von Hannover in 1981. Her relationship with death, the impermanence of physical life significantly changed another time with the loss of her beloved partner Maja 6 months ago, where she experienced something, she never had before: ‘Then one night the message came, and it was: Love Is All. And there was such a strong feeling. Love is the bond that brings us over the bridge and that brings two things into oneness, that overcomes the separation. In this case, the separation is a loss of the physical body. But the heart and the love are there. Love Is All.' Turiya's story is deeply moving and will encourage you to look for something beyond the physical. About this week's guest Turiya is the co-founder of Path Retreats and the transformational process Path of Love with Rafia Morgan. Together they also lead a one-year Holistic Counsellor training for therapists Working with People – School of Counselling. Read Turiya's bio in the extended show notes. Topics discussed in this episodeThe death of her grandfather when she was 7 years old The sudden and unexpected death of her husband Welf von Hannover at the age of 33 years old at the Osho AshramThe lacking understanding of shock and trauma in the 80sThe fear of death always being presentLiving in a culture that avoids death and experiences a lack of connection to the formlessOsho's deathMaja's deathGrief and the loneliness can make one feel orphaned by existenceThe importance of contact in the face of griefResources mentioned in this episodeQuote by Carlos Castaneda:‘Death is our eternal companion. It is always to our left, an arm's length behind us. Death is the only wise adviser that a warrior has. Whenever he feels that everything is going wrong and he's about to be annihilated, he can turn to his death and ask if that is so. His death will tell him that he is wrong, that nothing really matters outside its touch. His death will tell him, I haven't touched you yet.'A Year to Live: How to Live This Year as if it Were Your Last by Stephen LevineLinks--> For more information, please visit Nathalie's website. --> Subscribe to the newsletter to receive updates on future episodes here.--> Join the podcast's Instagram page. Thanks for listening to HOW TO DEAL WITH GRIEF AND TRAUMA. Born in post-war Germany, Turiya carried collective trauma with no means of addressing it. She and her husband experienced a profound change after their first encounter workshop and Jungian psychotherapy session in the 70s. They continued their search for enlightenment in India with mystics. While in India, Turiya's husband suddenly passed away, leading her to have an identity crisis. She was unsure of who she was, now that she was no longer a wife. Turiya questioned not only who she was, but also the existing patriarchal structures and religion. Why are most spiritual paths run through men? What about women's enlightenment? She started to feel anger towards the patriarchy for conditioning women to become submissive and manipulative. Instead of practicing Hindu detachment, she started exploring the pent up trauma within. This anger that Turiya had is part of the collective rage towards the patriarchy. But anger is not about blaming others for our own suffering. On the contrary, Turiya believes that anger is energy—only by taking responsibility can we use this life force to live freely. Unexpressed anger can bring self hatred. It's not easy to deal with anger alone, oftentimes it's better to heal within groups. Being seen and heard pulls us out of isolation, allowing us to feel safe and to become more resilient. Turiya is the co-founder of Path Retreats and the founder of the Path of Love transformation process. She has been trained in many different disciplines such as Gestalt, Bioenergetics, Psychodrama, Family Therapy, NLP, Hypnosis, Somatic Experiencing, Ego Psychology, Family Constellation, Enneagram and Astrology and Essence Work. Alice Coltrane's ashram album Kirtan: Turiya Sings gets first release.Michelle Coltrane joins Maggie to discuss her Mother's latest release from Impulse! Records Kirtan: Turiya Sings . After releasing the wondrous Transfiguration in 1978, documenting a live concert with drummer Roy Haynes and bassist Reggie Workman, Alice Coltrane retreated from public life to serve as swamini in an ashram she founded in Agoura Hills, California. Though she resurfaced briefly at John Coltrane tribute concerts during the 1990s and released a final album, Translinear Light, in 2004, it was widely thought she had abandoned music for over two decades. However, during that time, she was playing alone and with others for Sunday "kirtans" (services), and she occasionally recorded devotional chants for her followers. In 2017, Luaka Bop released The Ecstatic Music of Alice Coltrane Turiyasangitananda; its music was compiled from four privately pressed (and professionally recorded) cassettes. The first of these was 1982's Turiya Sings, and marked the first recording of her singing voice, accompanied by organ, strings, synths, and in places, minimal sound effects. Commercially unavailable, it has been streaming on YouTube for years. Kirtan: Turiya Sings, issued by Impulse!, presents that album in a startling new context. This rare mix -- unheard even by Ravi Coltrane until he was producing Translinear Light -- presents Alice's prayerful rendition of nine traditional Hindu chants called "bhajans," offered with only her Wurlitzer organ in support.Source: https://www.allmusic.com/album/kirtan-turiya-sings-mw0003535709Source: https://www.alicecoltrane.comSource: http://www.impulserecords.com/artistsThis episode is from an archive from the KPFK program Profiles adapted for podcast.
