Today, I'm joined by my dear friend and incredible business strategist, Michelle Broadbent to share a conversation about the value of community for entrepreneurs. The life of a business owner can be lonely, but you certainly don't have to do it alone. I see a lot of women craving face-to-face connection these days, but others like me are happy working from home with mostly virtual interactions. Regardless of your preference for connection, I hope this episode inspires you to embrace community so that you feel supported as a whole person.I can't stress enough the importance of surrounding yourself with the right people in business. Whether it's advisors, team members, or mentors, identifying and connecting with the right individuals is critical for your growth and success. This is true both professionally and on the personal front because you're not just a business owner. You are a whole person and we all need to have a safe space to connect, share, and grow with others. Throughout this conversation, both Michelle and I emphasise the significance of community for entrepreneurs. While running a business can sometimes be isolating, having a community of peers who understand your challenges and successes can be immensely beneficial. A supportive community offers a space for learning, growth, and mutual support. Michelle shares how many women in business try to do all the things on their own. Yes, they are capable and able to achieve incredible things, but trying to do everything by yourself is not sustainable. It's also vital that we surround ourselves with people who have different perspectives so that we can be challenged to look outside our paradigm. This need for community is why I'm such a big fan of Michelle's exciting new venture, The Accountability Circle, which offers a unique space for peer-to-peer mentoring and a supportive community for women in business. Michelle shares a little more about this venture and how to get involved. LINKS:Previous episode mentioned:Is HUSTLE a dirty word? with Emma McQueenConnect with Michelle:Download Your Winning Week hereWebsites:https://www.accountabilitycircle.com.au/https://www.michellebroadbent.com.au/Instagram:https://www.instagram.com/michbroadbent/Connect with Tracey: Get your copy of my Annual Legal Checklist hereCheck out my Getting Paid Made Easy course hereWebsite:tmsolicitor.com.auInstagram:https://www.instagram.com/tmsolicitor/Book a Strategy Session with me here

I wrote a book!!! “The Next Workplace: Designing Dynamic Environments that Inspire Human Potential” is only a few short weeks away from being out in the world.   I have been writing this book for the past 4 years and researching it my whole career.  Workplace design and the role that our environments play in enabling us to live our best lives is a conversation that I am incredibly passionate about and I am so thrilled to finally be able to share this passion with the world.   Writing a book is not for the faint hearted, and as you can probably tell from the fact that it has taken me 4 years to write this one, it hasn't been a smooth and easy process.  But it's also something that I knew I needed to do to ensure that every business leader knew the opportunity that lay before them when embarking on the creation of a new space for their people.   And to help me share this journey with you, I've invited my coach Michelle Broadbent to turn the tables and interview me!  Michelle jumps in and asks all the pointy questions form why I decided to write a book, through the process of writing, who helped me to get this done and of course, what the book is about and who it's for.   I'm so excited to be launching this book and I'd love you to come help me celebrate!  I'll be hosting book launches in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne [dates below] and would love to see you there!   And don't forget to grab your copy of the book HERE!   Brisbane March 22nd | Melbourne March 29th | Sydney April 5th   LINKS Get your copy of Mel's new Book “The Next Workplace; Designing Dynamic Environments that Inspire Human Potential”   Connect with Michelle; Website    Connect with Mel Email | Insta |

Today's episode is a bit of a sneak peek behind the curtains of my own work life… today I am going to be introducing you to three amazing and very different women who I've got in my corner.  Over the past 12 years, I have worked with coaches in various capacities to support my continued learning, professional and personal development.  These coaches have ranged in style from pure business coaches to NLP and life coaches, through to mindset coaches and the more holistic and what I would describe as spiritual coaches.   Each has supported me at a different phase and season of my life to navigate a challenge, uplevel my skills or help me focus on bringing my A Game in the area of my work or life that I've needed at that time.  Let's face it, the past two years have been a total shit show and if I'm honest, so has been my mindset and the state of my business at times, which is why in the past 2 years I have been working with not 1, but 3 coaches to support me in the various aspects of my life and work.  And today, I'm going to introduce you to these amazing women who have got my back! Tina Tower, Michelle Broadbent & Amber Hawken.  In today's conversation, we are covering everything from  Why you would want a coach How coaches have supported them to get to where they are today What to look for when hiring a coach The various models of coaching and how to decide what's right for you Plus, they answer the question “Do coaches have coaches?” I'm hoping that after this episode that if you are feeling like it's time to level up in your business or career, that you're feeling a little stagnant and are looking for your next challenge or that you just need someone to keep you accountable, that this will be the little kick in the backside that you needed, to go seek out your own coach and prepare to take great leaps forward!  BIOs Tina Tower started her first business at age 20, a small tutoring centre and educational toy store that over 5 years she transformed into a franchise of 35 Begin Bright centres employing 120 staff.   After the franchise was acquired in 2016, she started coaching other service-based business owners only to find herself constantly repeating herself, which led her to the world of online coaching.   Today Tina has run several online programs, however, her game-changer has been Her Empire Builder, which I am fortunate to be part of!  Her Empire Builder is a membership program supporting female entrepreneurs to establish and grow their online businesses.  She is on a mission to help 100 women build a $1million a year business by 2025. Tina has been instrumental in helping me navigate the online business world, which I can tell you is a massive shift from the world of bricks and mortar businesses!  Michelle Broadbent is a business strategist with a 20-year career as a trusted advisor to female entrepreneurs across a vast array of industries.  I have observed Michelle from afar for a few years before finding myself with direct access to her through Tina's HEB program, where I promptly jumped on her services with a desperate plea for help as I navigated my way out of the downturn resulting from COVID.   Michelle has been a realistic voice of reason, offering practical solutions and operational support to cut through the overwhelm and help me stay focused on what really matters! Amber Hawken, you may be familiar with as one of my very first guests on the podcast back in Episode 4, Transforming Leadership with a Calm Mind, which was actually how I met Amber!  It was after this episode that I said, “I need to work with you!” and here we are today! I affectionately refer to Amber as my “woo woo” coach as her teachings, perspectives and lessons go far deeper into the fibres of our being. As Amber describes, she has been working with humans for more than a decade and reverences our natural ability to emotionally and mentally self-heal and spiritually actualise.   Starting out her career as a radiation therapist, she transitioned away from the industry in 2012 and has since explored ancient cultures, different dimensions and bridged east and west. With a pragmatic mind and a country girl spirit, she has a unique blend of practical and down to earth approaches to the arena of therapy, embodied healing, integration, energy, and consciousness.   LINKS  Tina Tower https://www.tinatower.com  Instagram @tina_tower Michelle Broadbent  https://www.michellebroadbent.com.au  Instagram @michbroadbent Amber Hawken https://amberhawken.com  Instagram @amber_hawken Mel Marsden  Insta

Hooray!!  FINALLY I can share with my wonderful listeners My New Thing - aka Bold Darling.   Bold Darling is a platform to support entrepreneurs who understand that business is about more than business.   I've seen so many of my mentees sacrifice themselves on the altar of their businesses.  What I've designed is the exact content and structure to combat this problem.  I could happily talk about Bold Darling all day long, however I invite you to go explore it yourself on my website: lorrainemurphy.com.au.   My co-mentor in Bold Darling is Michelle Broadbent, who I have worked with closely for four years now.  For the first two of those years, she was my Business Manager and all-round right hand woman in my second business.  And for the last two years, she has helped me to support my mentees by co-mentoring in a Mastermind program and speaking to my groups at business retreats.   Michelle is a Small Business Strategist who brings the perfect balance of smarts and serious TLC (I may still call her my “Blankie”!).  She is The Guru of systems, recruiting what she calls unicorns, and effective boundaries. In this conversation, we cover:  The origins of Bold Darling  My most recent “Blankie call” to her, and why I needed it How women don't have a Nothing Box (like men do) and how that impacts us in our businesses The biggest challenges we see our clients experiencing in their businesses right now What we see as the others superpowers, and also the values we share The top 3 resources each of us share with our mentees  One of the saddest examples we see of business owners getting in their own way The quote I have stuck on our fridge at home Our “no mean girls” policy The best investments each of us have made in our own businesses To connect with Michelle, visit her website - michellebroadbent.com.au and her Instagram - @michbroadbent. One of the biggest challenges small business owners face when it comes to getting their marketing done is ‘not having the time.' A small business owner typically wears many hats and can often feel stretched between pillar and post on a daily basis. And if we are not careful, we can fall into spending our days being ‘busy' and yet being completely unproductive. The trouble is, as far as I know, no-one has worked out yet how to fit that additional hour into the day so that we are able to get everything done that we need to. We are stuck with our 24 hours and our 7 days a week. And once we accept that, we can start to make choices about how we prioritise our tasks within those 24 hours. Time management is one of the most important skills for us as business leaders to master if we want to actually ensure that we are working on meaningful tasks.  Michelle Broadbent is a Business Strategist who works with female entrepreneurs to implement smart, strategic and practical solutions that will elevate their business and give them the space to flourish in their zone of genius. This includes helping them to become the boss of their own time. In this episode she shares some practical tips as to how we can create a winning work week by effectively managing and prioritising our time. In this episode of the ‘Making It Count' podcast, we sit down with Michelle Broadbent and we're talking everything outsourcing and delegating to thrive. First, we hear how Michelle came to be a business strategist. “I've always been the woman behind the woman, the support person who enables someone else to be front and centre' says Michelle. She shares how she established these skills and then transferred them into her own business. Michelle teaches the business of running a business. ‘I know that there is an easier way to do things' says Michelle, ‘The solution often comes from a great hire.' It starts with understanding the needs of your business and then getting clarity on what support you are looking for. ‘The truth is you can only go so far on your own' says Michelle, ‘success means something different to everyone but, without a team growth is not sustainable.' It important to look at what you can offload to help you improve your ability to generate more revenue in your business. So, for those of us who know we need to outsource, but are concerned where to start, Michelle says, ‘start with an audit of how you are currently spending your time. Next, identify the tasks on that list which are important but can be done by someone else.' This applies in particular to bookkeeping and social media campaigns as an example. ‘A couple hours from an expert can save you many hours across your business week.'  ‘Tough times don't last but tough people do'. This was the best piece of advice Michelle has been given in her early years. She says, ‘My mission is to elevate the experience of female business owners' says Michelle, ‘I help them harness their entrepreneurial spirit while providing practical solutions for growth. This is how Michelle is making it count in her own world, ‘I consider it a great day if I have impacted them by showing them an easier way. Because, life doesn't need to be as hard as we often make it'.  So, sit back and enjoy this episode as Michelle Broadbent Makes It Count. Michelle Broadbent.    We both want you to be ready for what is on it's way with regards to bookings and to get prepared as things start to unfold for now and the future! Helping you to clear the overwhelm and be the boss in your business.    Our special Michelle says she's ‘the woman behind the woman', and the sounding board and cheerleader and is very passionate about seeing others succeed. But she's so much more.    She provides realistic, practical solutions and operational support together with out-of-the-box creative ideas - all served with a big dose of TLC.    Michelle and I have a lot of things in common and one you will hear about on this episode. (Please excuse my singing - OMG I almost died when I realised I did this and it is now recorded. )      Michelle shares with us ways to help to clear overwhelm, manage our time well, set up boundaries to ensure that we are on top of our business and not our business on top of us.      As we move on to a new era, I want you to be in charge and put yourself in the driver's seat. Do what you can do right now. One step at a time.    Organise, plan and understand your clients better and connect with them. Plug into a group that will help you grow, succeed and be accountable.    “Work out those things that work for you and put yourself in the driver's seat because you don't want to live your entire life according to other people's agendas”. - Roslyn Rase In-Person Planning Sessions - Get your Travel Business Ready and Organised for 2022 Achievers in Travel Facebook Group

In this episode, I am chatting with Michelle Broadbent, an amazing and insightful business strategist who has the unique ability to cut through the noise. She expertly identifies and draws out areas in your business that need your attention and supports you through the whole process. Michelle and I have the same mission to help empower and support women entrepreneurs to succeed and thrive in their businesses. We have known each other for a long time. I have referred clients to Michelle and she has referred clients to me, so I know first hand just how amazing she is. She understands exactly what women entrepreneurs are going through when running their business, raising their family, and striving to do everything at once. We chat about how feeling overwhelmed and lost at potential next steps are the most common drivers that send women to seek Michelle's service. As women business owners we can be so hard on ourselves trying to do absolutely everything and keep all of those juggling balls in the air. By helping you sort out your next strategy and plan your way forward, Michelle will help lift the weight on your shoulders so you can breathe and feel in control. We wrap everything up by chatting about the best and worst advice she has received in her business journey, and the motivating words she would give her younger self. I found Michelle's template ‘Your Winning Week' so handy and useful to plan my ideal week that incorporates all aspects of life (not just business). I would love for you to go and check it out on her website after listening to her speak and start planning what your winning week looks like.LINKS:Where to find Michelle: Michelle's Ideal Week: https://www.michellebroadbent.com.au/your-winning-week/ Website:Michelle Broadbent | Business StrategistInstagram: @michbroadbentPodcast: ‎Your Business Boost on Apple PodcastsGet your copy of my Annual Legal Checklist hereWebsite:tmsolicitor.com.auInstagram:https://www.instagram.com/tmsolicitor/Facebook:https://www.facebook.com/traceymylecharanesolicitor

How our business relationship changed - in a big way - this year How she overcame her blocks around building her personal brand in 2020, and how I've seen that transformation in her The general vibe that we're each feeling this month (December) in the business world The signs of recovery that she's seeing with her clients  What each of us see as the growing pains small businesses experience as they scale up The negative loop that keeps female business owners from hiring to scale  The toxic pattern we have both observed a LOT this year, and the reason it's happened  And - exciting!!! - a sneak peek at the accelerator collaboration we're bringing your way next year… You can find out more about Michelle at Michellebroadbent.com.au or on Instagram at @michbroadbent.
