Journey to self-acceptance Quite often we hear phrases like “if you don't love yourself, no one will love you” or “you must love yourself.” But what does that even mean? Honestly, there is no standard meaning of self-love or self-acceptance. Each and every person has a different way of expressing love to themselves.  It is, however, important to note that this is not something that you can derive from the number of followers you have on social media, or the way you dress, or the expensive car you drive…. the list is endless. You may feel good about those things but that does not translate to self-love.    Loving and accepting yourself involves treating yourself with respect, gentleness as well as taking care of your wellbeing as you would a friend. Self-love is a way of responding to your inadequacies, imperfections, challenges, mistakes with self-compassion and kindness rather than beating yourself up. In that regards, self-love is critical to living a fulfilled, happy life.  As Necole puts it, self-acceptance is loving who you are when you’re stripped off every title that you bear.   Her name probably rings a bell from Necole Bitchie. Necole Kane is the name behind the popular entertainment blog. She is currently Editor in Chief and IFBB Pro and a Bikini competitor. In pursuit of her quest to inspire and empower young women, Necole founded xoNecole.com, a defined platform for young women to share their personal stories and indulge in career, beauty and relationship tips, as well speak their minds on the latest in culture news and politics.  Previously, she successfully ran an award-winning celebrity gossip blog that was recognized as one of the leading and fastest growing urban gossip sites on the internet, appealing to readers from publications such as The Huffington Post, The Boston Globe, Cosmopolitan, CNN, Global Grind, and receiving awards like Black Enterprise’s Black Blogger of the Month, Ebony Magazine’s Power 100, Soul Train Music Award for Best Soul Site.  Necole was the first blogger to appear in BET’s 106th and Park, all while being featured in Essence, Sister 2 Sister, Honey, The Source, J’Adore, Rolling Out and more.    In this episode, you're going to hear one of the most amazing, inspiring stories you have ever heard on the podcast. You will end the episode not only falling in love with her but also falling in love with yourself. So without further ado, I am so excited and delighted to introduce to you IFBB Bikini Professional Necole Kane.        Takeaways If it doesn't challenge you, it doesn't change you The things that challenge and make you most uncomfortable are the things that will make you the greatest version of yourself The purpose isn't even for you; it's how you touch others Find out who you want to become  You are what you eat Fitness journey is a sacrifice Don't allow the thing you do to define you When you don't love yourself, it is reflective of who you surround yourself with We are the average of the five people we spend the most time with Who you decide to spend your time with is as important as the food you decide to eat It's very hard to let go of something that no longer serves you or a person who no longer serves you when they're acting in so many roles in your life The reasons you do things should always be coming from within and not anything that anyone else has to say about you Always be realistic  You must sacrifice some things in order to achieve your objectives Have the right team around you Don't compare yourself with other people; we are all unique Have a positive mindset     Important questions  [00:05:10] How many years have you been competing? [00:07:49] What exactly keeps you motivated [00:14:41] How did your journey as a celebrity gossip blogger came about?  At the end of the day, what truly matters? What are you truly chasing or driving towards? In this episode, we chat with Necole Kane - the writer, influencer, entrepreneur and founder of xoNecole.com  and the former celebrity gossip blog Necole Bitchie. Necole opens up and shares some personal stories about her transition from running Necole Bitchie to switching gears and creating a safe place for women online to be empowered and share their stories. Necole discusses some of the difficulties she experienced over the years and how she pushed through pain and some of the negative (and positive) effects this had on her life. Necole talks thinking things are going to get better, navigating dating & relationships, making health and self-care a priority, trusting the timing of your life, the impact of grief/losing loved ones, the "freedom of irrelevancy", and what happiness means for her now. She also shares pointers and tips she's learned about what truly makes any blog, brand, or business successful and how you can RECLAIM & DEFINE your health, legacy, and purpose. Support is Sexy Podcast with Elayne Fluker | Interviews with Successful Women Entrepreneurs 5 Days a Week!

There is a moment within this episode where I talk about how not accepting support has pushed some of us so far that we end up doing things to hurt ourselves..............   There is a long pause after the first time I say this. It shook me up when I vocalized it. I listened to that segment again and again in editing and debated whether I should take it out. When I began wiping tears away, I decided to leave it in. I began this episode talking about a recent, courageous video that Necole Kane (formerly of NecoleBitchie.com) released where she spoke through tears about struggles she's going through in her business and in her life after making some big moves and transitions, and I share how much I can relate. But know this, this episode is about YOU. I want YOU to get the support you need in all areas of your life -- whatever that looks like. Your job is to stop being resistant, to ask, to accept, and to let support show up for you in all the ways it wants to and in all the ways you need.  To not allow support is selfish. And you are not selfish, you are up to something, you are BIG, you have purpose, and support is there to see you through.   On this episode you’ll learn… The importance of asking for support -- for real! How to face down resistance.Giving up "I got it" syndrome. Why support is sexy for your mental health. Why not asking for support is selfish. Why you must surround yourself with people who push through your resistance.  Subscribe to Support is Sexy podcast on iTunes or on Stitcher Radio!   Show notes, links, contacts and resources for this episode may be found at http://elaynefluker.com/podcast/   CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR SUPPORT IS SEXY EMAIL and get access to resources, events and a community of ambitious, generous and brilliant women entrepreneurs.   FOLLOW SUPPORT IS SEXY FACEBOOK | TWITTER | INSTAGRAM | JOIN OUR MASTERMIND   [Music: “Someone Else’s Memories” by Revolution Void]

We talk about the old site, the new site and how difficult it was to actually get going. Did she EVER date celebrities? How fitness saved her life. How she truly found peace & happiness and she also answers your questions! You can find Necole at @justnecole and xonecole.com. Enjoy!
