In this episode, I interview the amazing and wonderful Canadian comedian Nick Nemeroff who just recently passed away at the age of 32. It's truly a big loss for his friends, family, and the world of comedy. With this episode, I want to honor Nick and his work as a Standup-Comedian and will share a moment where Nick decided to help and support strangers like me. The interview happened back then in 2019 and It was a unique and special moment for me because it was the first time that I interviewed a professional comedian for our community. Nick showed a big heart and gave our community a unique and wonderful 2-hour interview about the life of a standup comedian. His honesty about anxiety and other challenges in the life of a standup comedian made this interview special for all of us and helped us become better standup comedians. From the bottom of my heart, thank you, Nick Nemeroff! Please check out his stuff here: http://www.nicknemeroff.com If you want to join our community follow: https://discord.gg/standup-comedy or http://comedians-network.com/
Jesse Thorn (Jordan, Jesse, Go!, Bullseye) joins the show with a very original Block Tale, a first in show history, as he gets blocked by the former head writer of The Late Show with David Letterman for making her sit in traffic. It's a true California Block Tale and in true California fashion, we spend a great deal of the show talking about frozen treats, from Jesse's high-end home ice machine to the best selections to come from the ice cream truck. John also gets roasted for a horrendous analogy, Stefan bucks the trend by being the one to talk about nu-metal with the Alien Ant Farm discourse, and we learn about scromiting. Plus, dogs on roofs, Paul F. Tompkins, and Antiques Roadshow. Jesse Thorn is a podcaster who is the founder of Maximum Fun and can be heard on "Jordan, Jesse, Go!" and "Judge John Hodgman" on a weekly basis. You can also hear his show, "Bullseye", on NPR. You can follow him on Twitter at @jessethorn. Rest in Peace to our dear friend Nick Nemeroff. We love you, pal. In lieu of flowers, the Nemeroff family has asked that you make a donation to Planned Parenthood, which was one of the last things Nick did before he passed.

It's one thing to be a rising star in the comedy scene and navigating all the terrain that comes with that, but it's a whole other thing entirely to also navigate your identity, especially if you're openly transitioning between genders at the same time. If you've seen one Max Beasley recently, you'll agree that they're balancing the two journeys exquisitely and getting funnier every time you see them. Max chats in-depth about the ins and outs of forging that path for themselves and always going for the jokes vs. so-called "clap-ter". Also, we say goodbye to the one and only Nick Nemeroff. Rax King (writer) introduces us to the world of SantaCon, something that sounds joyous but is in actuality, very grim and bad. Her fateful day trip into NYC during SantaCon leads to a block as the dark side of the internet sees fit to get involved. The rest of the episode is pretty light though, as we celebrate John's birthday! Recorded the day of his 36th birthday, Stefan and Dan each get John thoughtful gifts after Stefan shoves Kleenex in his mouth (you'll hear why) and John and Rax swap stories of board game competitiveness. Plus we talk about our Halloween plans, how much groceries cost, the early 2000s, group chats, and John and Stefan swap places in our Social Media Updates, as Stefan reports a wholesome story and John finds a former athlete with a deranged opinion about a teammate's injury. If you're looking for more deranged opinions, head on over to patreon.com/blockedparty, where $5/month gets you access to THREE bonuses every month. We just had a double bonus week last week as Charles Star joined us for a Curling Twitter block and Nick Nemeroff came along for the ride in a Blocked Mailbag episode. Plus we announce that coming up on November 19th, Zoom shows return as Stefan and John go head-to-head playing Mack Gordon's Family Feud! It's gonna be a blast so head on over to Patreon to check it out! Rax King is a writer whose first collection of essays about trashy pop culture, "Tacky", is out TOMORROW, November 2nd. She also has a podcast called Low Culture Boil and can be followed on Twitter at @raxkingisdead.
Amy Goodmurphy (comedian/actor) gets fooled by the Blocked Boys into thinking they're wholesome, as the episode starts with some very pleasant conversation about acting in commercials, chocolates, and Christmas. But it quickly devolves as Amy herself takes it off the deep end with a story about some illicit messages her friend received and we get into our most drunken moments, New Zealand's official wizard, and Panamanian television. Plus, Amy's Block Tale does not disappoint, as a person sees an ad with her in it on Instagram and immediately takes things to a bad place. If you want to go to a good place, head on over to patreon.com/blockedparty, where $5/month gets you access to THREE bonus episodes every single month. This is a double bonus episode week so there's no better time to get on board as we invite listener fave Nick Nemeroff back to answer some mailbag questions and John dips into his first ever Curling Twitter block with our pal Charles Star. Plus we've got ad-free episodes, a sweet Discord, merch deals and more, so check it out! Amy Goodmurphy is a writer, comedian, and actor, whose show "The Ryan and Amy Show" has won the Just for Laughs Film Fest award and can be found on Instagram at @ryanandamyshow. They're launching a new podcast, "Poor Lil' Thing" very soon. You can also see her on Mighty Ducks: Game Changers on Disney+ and on her Instagram at @amyrickygee.

Nick Nemeroff (comedian) makes his return to the show and in a moment of panic that he wouldn't have a great Block Tale, blocks a BP listener to have something to talk about on the show. It's much sweeter than it sounds, and Nick displays his general niceness throughout the show as we talk about Larry King's passing, cooking and eating meals, and John watches "The Girl Next Door" for the first time since 2004 and discovers it's a very perplexing movie. The Blocked Boys also find time to get into Mikey Miles, Amanda Palmer's viral tweet, and with Funko Pops in the rearview mirror, Stefan finds the new, 2021 way he's going to piss John off. TW: This episode's top 3 about the Denver Broncos contains some mentions of criminal activity, including sexual assault. Very few details of the cases are provided, but if you'd like to avoid that section, it occurs from 1:05:30 to 1:22:30. If you want to hear John get pissed off more, there's lots of that content and more over at https://patreon.com/blockedparty, where $5/month gets you access to FOUR bonus episodes every month. Comedian Nick Nemeroff joins us to talk open mics, the circus, and the environment.
Nick Nemeroff (comedian) gets very excited for his first TV appearance on Comedy Central, without considering that they have 3M Facebook followers, and they might have some opinions on his comedy that are very bad. However, Nick deals with it in the best way possible and talks about what is one of the funniest internet bits ever. Aside from that, this episode is essentially just John’s Worst Nightmare, as the rest of the episode is mainly designed to punish him. Stefan makes John watch the episode of Peep This Out! where he walks on a bridge he believes is haunted, John talks about Becca absolutely owning him with a birthday card, and Nick…well Nick doesn’t really punish him, but he’s also not Chrissy Teigen (we tried). Just a bad time for John all around, and we also learn about the guy who orgasms 100 times a day, which doesn’t make it any better. If you’d like to feel better, you can donate to the BP Patreon at https://patreon.com/blockedparty, where $5/month gets you access to THREE bonus episodes every single damn month. We’re crazy. October was a hot month as we had guests from Street Fight Radio, Truthpoint, and Welcome to Sullyville on the show, talking Cameos, The Fanatic, and answering your questions. This month, we are going to be doing some live stuff AND JOHN SMOKES WEED FOR THE FIRST TIME. It’s happening, and he’s doing it with a couple of guests who were described as “the worst possible people you could smoke weed with if it was your first time.” You won’t wanna miss it. And hey, if you hate bonus audio and don’t have the time, we also have a BP newsletter you can access for $4/month. It’s all good stuff and it’s all for you.

Nick Nemeroff is a Montreal comic who has been a mainstay in the Toronto comedy scene for the past few years, winning Best Newcomer and Best Breakout Comic at the 2017 and 2018 I Heart Joke Awards. His comedy has been described as "aggressively deadpan" -- and if you're wondering what that means, just watch his set from last fall on Conan. It's a joy. After visiting Winnipeg for the Oddblock Comedy Festival a couple years ago, Nick is making his first appearance at the Winnipeg Comedy Festival this weekend. Paul Little chatted with him ahead of his visit, and they spoke about his "Square Pegs" gala taping, his experience on Conan, and what's in store now that he's made the move to Los Angeles.
Guest host M.K. Paulson talks Fort Worth, pantyhose eggs and the Superbloom. Sets from Matt Besser, Subhah Agarwal, Rachel Scanlon and Nick Nemeroff.
The whites of the Treefort Festival really make a concerted effort here and we actually appear to be making some real progress until Sam Tallent gets his hands on the mic. Luckily, Jackie Kashian follows through on her promises and gathers her white walkers to take a stand. We hear pitches from Sofiya Alexandra, Caitlin Weierhauser, and Nick Nemeroff. Cordy, and Cordy, one or two other people, comes in to lend a hand too, and an ancient battle between Good and President Taft unravels. It's also very subtly hinted that Jerry could be more than he seems.

It's 3 little boys and a horse on today's Killed to Death. When Dr. Palmera is found dead, his patient Marvin Martin (Nick Nemeroff) tries his best to recount the murder. We find out about his new life - impersonating the victim. Also, Secretariat - the horse - stops in to break some things.
With the recent elimination of the Toronto Blue Jays, this might be a bad time to release the episode where they’re all found dead in the dugout. But that’s what we recorded! We bring in Coach Jessica (Nick Nemeroff) to help, and she melts into a bucket of goo 10 minutes in, and it’s weird! Then, after solving the murder successfully, we still hang around the podcast studio for the second half with 3rd base coach Cameron Jacobson. You’re great!
