Artificial Intelligence, the prophecy is self-fulfilling. Artificial Intelligence is shaping our future at a breathtaking pace, but which direction are we taking? My recent article, 'Artificial Intelligence, the prophecy is self-fulfilling. Which do you prefer: the dystopian or the one where humanity evolves?', explores the critical responsibility we, as professionals and citizens, hold in guiding this transformation. To broaden the reach of this vital discussion, the article has been adapted into a podcast. And, in a demonstration of AI's own capabilities, the narrations were performed by AI-generated voices.I invite you to listen and reflect on:➡️ How AI mirrors human duality.➡️ Warnings from experts like Eric Schmidt and the importance of optimistic visions from thinkers like Peter H. Diamandis.➡️ The real danger of AI as a tool in the hands of individuals with destructive intent, and our history as a cautionary tale.➡️ Concrete actions we can take NOW to foster an ethical and evolutionary future with AI.The time for conscious, responsible action is now, before dystopian prophecies materialize through our own inertia or neglect.

Chapter 1:Summary of AbundanceIn "Abundance: The Future Is Better Than You Think," Peter H. Diamandis and Steven Kotler argue that despite popular belief, the world is actually getting better in many ways. They discuss how advancements in technology, specifically exponential growth in fields like artificial intelligence, robotics, and biotechnology, can help address some of the world's biggest challenges, such as poverty, disease, and environmental degradation. The authors provide examples of innovative solutions that are already making a positive impact, such as 3D printing, solar power, and mobile technology. They also emphasize the power of collaboration and entrepreneurship in driving progress and creating abundance for all. Ultimately, Diamandis and Kotler are optimistic about the future and believe that with the right mindset and resources, we can create a world of abundance for all.Chapter 2:The Theme of Abundance"Abundance" by Peter H. Diamandis explores the concept of exponential technologies and their potential to solve humanity's biggest problems. The book presents several key plot points, character developments, and thematic ideas that contribute to its overall message:1. Plot Points:- The book opens with a discussion on the exponential growth of technology and how it has the potential to create abundant resources for all of humanity.- Diamandis introduces the concept of the "Six Ds of Exponentials" (digitization, deception, disruption, demonetization, dematerialization, and democratization) to explain how technologies like artificial intelligence, robotics, and biotechnology are rapidly advancing.- The narrative follows various case studies and real-world examples of how these technologies are already making a positive impact, such as providing clean drinking water, affordable healthcare, and renewable energy.2. Character Development:- While there are no specific characters in the traditional sense, Diamandis himself can be considered the central figure in the book. As the author and co-founder of Singularity University, he takes readers on a journey through the possibilities of exponential technologies and inspires them to believe in a future of abundance.- Through his writing, Diamandis demonstrates a deep passion for innovation and a strong belief in the power of human creativity to solve the world's problems.3. Thematic Ideas:- One of the main thematic ideas in "Abundance" is the notion that we are living in a time of unprecedented progress and opportunity. Diamandis argues that we have the tools and resources to address global challenges like poverty, disease, and environmental degradation if we embrace the potential of exponential technologies.- The book also explores the role of entrepreneurs, innovators, and visionaries in driving positive change. Diamandis highlights the importance of taking risks, thinking creatively, and collaborating with others to make a meaningful impact on society.- Additionally, "Abundance" challenges readers to shift their mindset from one of scarcity and fear to one of abundance and possibility. By adopting an attitude of abundance, Diamandis suggests that we can unlock our full potential and create a brighter future for ourselves and future generations.Overall, "Abundance" serves as a thought-provoking manifesto for embracing the transformative power of technology and working together to create a more prosperous and sustainable world.Chapter 3:Meet the Writer of AbundancePeter H. Diamandis is known for his ability to convey complex ideas in a clear and accessible manner. Episode 80: Tom Hine, CFP®, CFS®, MBA & His Book, The Balanced Wealth Approach: Secrets To Living Long And Living Rich In this episode, Tom, a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™, author, and founder and CEO of Capital Wealth Management, shares with me how there should be comparable focus on both wealth and health when it comes to our futures -- even in his field of wealth management. Through his own journey in finance (the numbers) and karate, meditation, yoga (the physical and the mind), he demonstrates that he's living what he's preaching. The message he shares with his clients, into which he does a deep dive with me here, is a great reminder that we can't take anything for granted. The world is changing, and so how we respond to and live within it also needs to change and become both more intentional and mindful. "You need a 5G mindset to live within a 5G world." What I appreciated most in Tom's message in his book and in the thoughts he shares here is the reminder to be healthier so that we can enjoy what we've accomplished. That wisdom was sparked in Tom when he chose to focus more on his health, through karate as a younger professional, instead of merely climbing the corporate ladder. Financial and career success would not be sufficient to uphold and maintain his mindset. "Drastic times call for drastic measures." This well-known quote comes to mind as Tom talks about how we have to offset all the negative in the world and work on ourselves to achieve the best performance and strongest longevity to move forward and enjoy ourselves and our communities. We need to look for, take into account, and harness what it is we can control to make progress for ourselves. CONVERSATION HIGHLIGHTS You want to be the CEO of your own health When the mind is quiet, the world will show itself to you Don't be afraid to go back to the past and figure out what makes you whole “A healthy person has a thousand wishes, a sick person only one” (Don't take that for granted.) ABOUT TOM Tom Hine is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ and the author of The Balanced Wealth Approach: Secrets to Living Long and Living Rich. He has over three decades of experience in the industry and is the founder and CEO of Capital Wealth Management in Glastonbury, CT. However, what makes Tom unique is his holistic approach to financial planning. When life feels hard, does “peak performance” mean anything?    Steven Kotler is known as the NYT best selling author of books like Stealing Fire and The Rise of Superman, but can the science of stretching limits apply to grief of any kind? Hi there, I'm Judy Croon. Welcome to another episode of 'Laugh Long and Prosper' – Shelf Help with a dash of humour when appropriate. I believe that humour is one of our best coping mechanisms-especially when we are facing stress and unknown times like Covid. Today is Monday. That's means it's time for 'Just Another Mindful Monday'. I read a book recently, that made me feel just a little bit more peaceful…mindful shall we say. The book is called Abundance: The Future is Better Than You Think by Peter H Diamandis. In a nutshell, this book gave me hope that the world is not going to hell in a hand basket. In fact, quite the opposite is happening. Unfortunately, fear sells. I blame a lot of this one of my old radio occupations – the news. We tend to live in a world where a lot of bad news is reported every day. Yes, bad things are happening all the time and it's sad but is there an ulterior motive behind some of those headlines? Let's face it, bad news sells. There is a reason why Fox made two billion dollars last year. As Bill Gates once said, ‘No one wants to hear small incremental good news'. However, there IS all sorts of small incremental good news happening every day -lots of good people continuously doing good things on a local and international level. Factfulness and Humankind Two of my favourite books (endorsed by Barack Obama and Bill Gates) are Factfulness and Humankind. They share the same message -the world is not going to end, just yet. However, what Abundance does is it put a little bit more specifics behind the dashboard. So, let me share some of this good news with you. I think that there's levers we can pull, that actually help people. I don't think being market focused or looking at the last six months or three years' performance are levers we can pull to help people. Planning, proper kinds of goal setting and figuring out what's really important, and prioritizing those things actually helps people get what they want, helps them feel more secure that their future will have more of what they want.” – Jonathan DeYoe    Connect with Jonathan DeYoe: LinkedIn Website Mindful Money Facebook Instagram Twitter YouTube Selected links and people mentioned in this episode: Mindful Money: Simple Practices for Reaching Your Financial Goals and Increasing Your Happiness Dividend by Jonathan K. [03:27] Jonathan and Patrick roll into their conversation with Jonathan describing who he is and what he does in the world. He goes on to share a brief story about his parents, and what was behind his own limiting beliefs that eventually transitioned into his mindful money mindset. [05:46] Having purchased his first stock at the ripe old age of 9, Jonathan shares where that thought process came from, who inspired him, and what spurred him to think in this way so early on. [08:40] Finance played a huge part in Jonathan's studies right up to college, but he explains why and how that road took a curve and he began to immerse himself into a whole new way of thinking with a whole new course for his future. Needle scratch! Though he wholeheartedly embraced his studies, when it came time for Jonathan to tackle the job market, he found that his Buddhist studies program wasn't the hot ticket. This led him back into finance with Dean Witter, a financial services and securities firm. [11:51] Jonathan describes his experience with entering that world of Wall Street and the mentors he met along the way. Five years later that path led him to leave Wall Street and start his own financial services firm that was more aligned with his values. [15:22] Investigating and taking inventory of what was really important to his core clientele Jonathan built his firm in a way that was less focused on the product sale, and more education-centred, while maximizing his aptitude for talking with people through the emotional dynamics of money. In the end, being of more satisfying contribution to make a better life for his clients and himself. [17:38] Jonathan shares his vision and goals for the firm he was creating and what drove him to stay goal-focused and planning driven. The recession of 2007 and 2008 was the impetus for incorporating the “mindful” piece into his organization. Mindfulness and stoicism are the keys to making better decisions in the face of both boom and bust. [20:54] Mindfulness. Jonathan shares a few elements of mindfulness within the context of his organization: vetting clients for alignment in values (and referring those who are not to other trusted firms), client communication pieces that focus on the fundamental principles which drive their method of investing, RAIN – realize, allow, investigate and non-identification. This idea behind this methodology is to identify the emotion that comes up i.e., anger or fear about money or the market, without identifying WITH it. Slowing down to be mindful of our reaction to stay focused on the plan. [25:10] Jonathan discusses the concept of “recency bias”. One of our challenges is that we live in the soup of today, but tomorrow the issues of today will be replaced by new issues. No matter how many years we go back,

He is passionate about making a social and environmental impact. That's why he created EHAB, a weather risk management tool for the construction industry. He believes that innovation in construction can be a catalyst for improvement across the world. This industry faces a lot of risks due to weather changes: physical risks, project risks, administrative risks, health & safety risks, and many more. Can you build a purpose-driven start-up? How? What is a net-zero world? How can we get there? How does the construction industry impact climate change? These are all questions Josh answered in the new episode. Advice from Josh: Ask yourself, is this problem inspiring enough and exciting enough that I would want to work on it for the next 50 years? If the answer is no, then probably don't put your time into that. If the answer is yes, then it's a long, hard journey and start to learn and start to really try and understand, okay, what are the ways that this problem is being solved today? Steven Kotler (@steven_kotler) is a true flow enthusiast. Ever since the bestselling author, journalist and entrepreneur defeated Lyme Disease by going surfing and drifting into the highly rewarding state of consciousness, Steven made it his mission to decode the workings behind flow. The highly productive writer and founder of the Flow Genome Project has been published in a variety of magazines including The New York Times Magazine, Wired, GQ, and Discover and has written multiple bestsellers including Abundance and Bold, which he co-authored with Human Longevity Inc. founder Peter H. Diamandis. Last year, he published his book The Rise of Superman: Decoding the Science of Ultimate Human Performance, in which explores the flow state.   In this episode of the Flowgrade Show, flow expert Steven Kotler explains the state of consciousness known as "flow", an optimal state in which humans perform and feel their best. Steven describes the different states of flow, how long they usually last and how he wrote a whole book jumping in and out of flow. Find out at the end, which psychoactive drug Steven prefers to take on a deserted island with him.   In this episode, we talk about: The definition of the flow state (1:02) Steven's most effective flow triggers (02:02) How to increase flow in your life (02:45) Micro- versus macro-flow (3:42) Duration times of different flow states (4:55) How the Flow Genome Project wants to help people get more flow (6:05) How to measure the state of flow reliably (7:10) 3 things Steven would take on a deserted island (8:20)   Enjoy! If you slept on the floor last night, you're off to a great start. Ryan Holiday started on the floor. I guess that's where we all start. The difference is we want to stand on the floor, not sleep on it. But maybe you should stop thinking that way. Maybe you should sleep on the floor. Ryan Holiday didn't even sleep on his own floor. He slept on someone else's floor. Even better, it was his boss's floor. Maybe give that a try tonight. Sleep on your boss's floor. That's how you choose for yourself. Work with people whose floor you want to sleep on. Ryan went from the floor to director of marketing of American Apparel. Now he runs his own creative consulting firm. He landed five clients on the New York Times bestseller list in one week. I'm one of Ryan's clients. He does great work. That's why I interviewed him a second time. Tucker Max and Tim Ferris are his clients, too. And because no one is born a New York Times bestselling author (or maybe they are, I don't know), listen to Ryan's tips for aspiring authors. He also reveals the most common reasons authors and entrepreneurs fail. Tip: you need to stop loving your ideas. Love for your ideas sets you up for failure. Hear why and hear the solution. You might have heard me say, "85 percent of all businesses fail." Today, I share how to reduce your risk of failure to only 20 percent. If nothing else, try sleeping on the floor. In This Episode You Will Learn: *The most common mistakes of aspiring authors and entrepreneurs *The key to success behind Ryan Holiday's "meta-campaigns" *How Ryan Holiday landed jobs with clients including Tucker Max, Tim Ferris and James Altucher *Ryan's keys to success behind building "meta-campaigns" *Examples of how to "lean into problems instead of running away from them" *The best way to spread your ideas as widely as possible Links and Resources Mentioned in the Show: www.RyanHoliday.net - sign up for his book recommendations Check out both of Ryan Holiday's books on Amazon James first interview with Ryan Holiday James interview on CBCN   Books Recommended in this Episode: Trust Me, I'm Lying by Ryan Holiday The Obstacle Is the Way by Ryan Holiday Mastery by Robert Greene Shadow Divers by Robert Kurson How to Travel the World on $50 a Day by Matt Kepnes Money by Tony Robbins Bold: How to Go Big, Create Wealth and Impact the World by Peter H.
